  1. Good night and thank you

And that's where we'll bring our coverage for the day to a close as well.

Just a quick reminder of how the two games stand:

    Lord's: Sussex (169-4) lead Middlesex (138) by 31 runs

Northampton: Northamptonshire (209) lead Glamorgan (5-0) by 204 runs

And a reminder of what else is starting tomorrow....

    Division One:

    Guildford:Surrey v Somerset

    Edgbaston:Warwickshire v Nottinghamshire

    Headingley:Yorkshire v Essex

    Division Two:

    Chester-le-Street:Durham v Derbyshire

    Liverpool:Lancashire v Leicestershire

As mentioned, we'll have full coverage on BBC Sport with ball-by-ball local radio commentary plus text and social media updates throughout the day.

Be sure to join the team from 10:45 BST on Monday.

    Thanks for being with us!

  2. Close of play at Lord's

    Middlesex 138 v Sussex 169-4

Well, it looks like even though the floodlights are on, it's still too gloomy to continue.

Players march off and we're going to be denied the last three overs I imagine.

Stiann van Zyl (46 not out) and Ben Brown (5 not out) will resume for Sussex in the morning, who already have a lead of 31 runs.

  3. Middlesex turn to spin

    Middlesex 138 v Sussex 169-4

    Kevin Hand

    BBC Radio London at Lord's

Ollie Rayner back on at Lord's and Middlesex could really do with one more wicket before stumps.

Great day for Sussex so far, but a fourth wicket in the evening would at least even this session.

The hosts haven't got as much out of this ball - something they will really hope changes to tomorrow morning.

  4. Bad light stops play at Lord's

    Middlesex 138 v Sussex 163-4

Well, it sort of stops play....

What we're actually waiting around for are the floodlights to warm up at Lord's and allow us to finish off the scheduled overs.

A bit of a farce really as surely they could have powered them up a few overs ago.

    Still six overs to bowl.

  5. World Cup: Bangladesh shock South Africa

Bangladesh (330-6) beat South Africa (309-8) by 21 runs

All over at The Oval and there's been a surprise result.

Bangladesh have beaten South Africa by 21 runs and that's now two defeats from two for the Proteas.

Bangladesh pull off a shock 21-run win to inflict a second successive World Cup defeat on South Africa at The Oval.

    Evans lbw b Harris 31 (Sussex 156-4)

Vital breakthrough for Middlesex to end what was a very decent partnership between Stiann van Zyl and Laurie Evans for the fourth wicket.

James Harris traps Evans leg before for 31 to end that 60-run stand.

Nine overs left to bowl in the day.

  7. Close of play at Northampton

    Northamptonshire 209 v Glamorgan 5-0

And that bad light has brought the first day to a premature end at Wantage Road.

Just four overs of Glamorgan's reply completed before that last interruption.

They'll resume weather permitting at 11:00 BST tomorrow.

  8. Bad light stops play at Northampton

    Northamptonshire 209 v Glamorgan 5-0

Not good news sadly from Wantage Road early in the Glamorgan reply...

  9. Gillespie on the mic

    Middlesex 138 v Sussex 133-3

Sussex edging towards taking the lead at Lord's.

"Dizzy" is currently giving us an insight into the Sussex dressing room as well as how his side are shaping up so far in this County Championship campaign.

  10. Northants all out

    Northamptonshire 209 v Glamorgan

Glamorgan mop up the rest of the Northants first innings shortly after that resumption.

Ben Sanderson the last man out for just two to give Marchant de Lange a fourth wicket of the innings, 4-64 his figures in the end.

Michael Hogan also claimed 3-39 in sharing the new ball.

Glamorgan will have potentially 17 overs to face before the close this evening.

  11. Back on at Wantage Road

    Northamptonshire 201-9 v Glamorgan

And play has finally been able to resume at Northampton.

Michael Hogan bowling to Luke Procter....

  12. World Cup: Bangladesh looking to upset South Africa

    Bangladesh 330-6 v South Africa 223-4 (38 overs)

Still in the balance a bit in today's World Cup match at The Oval.

South Africa chasing 331 to beat Bangladesh have been kept under wraps by some decent bowling.

But they've got wickets in hand still and need just under nine-an-over with 12 to go if they are to complete a record run-chase in a World Cup fixture.

  14. WICKET

    Salt b Murtagh 50 (Sussex 96-3)

There's another for Middlesex and Tim Murtagh as he rearranges Phil Salt's stumps shortly after he reached 50.

Timely breakthrough for the hosts and Murtagh now with figures of 3-22 as he continues to toil away.

Laurie Evans the new man in for Sussex.

  15. Still off at Wantage Road

    Northamptonshire 201-9 v Glamorgan

They had been hoping to resume at 17:00 at Northampton, but there's been a few showers hanging around to hold up the ground staff.

    Here's the latest....

  16. 50 for Phil Salt

    Middlesex 138 v Sussex 91-2

Half-century for Sussex opener Phil Salt, who survives half a leg before shout in getting there.

Must have been the finest of inside edges on to his pads off Tim Murtagh as some of the Middlesex side were very interested in that.

Salt reaches 50 off 55 balls with seven fours. Sussex trail by just 46 runs.

  17. WICKET

    Finch lbw b Murtagh 27 (Sussex 79-2)

Perfect start to this evening session for Middlesex.

Harry Finch gets pinned on the back foot by Tim Murtagh and is adjudged leg before for 27.

Both wickets have fallen to Murtagh.

  18. Resumption time

    Middlesex 138 v Sussex 78-1

And the players are back out there at Lord's to start the final session.

Tim Murtagh with the ball in hand for Middlesex to Phil Salt, who is already looking set for a handsome score under brighter evening skies.

  19. Pitch inspection

    Northamptonshire 201-9 v Glamorgan

Better news to report from Northampton I'm glad to say....
