Head over to the football pages for all the latest reaction, match reports and stories from around Europe and the Football League.

    See you tomorrow!

  2. Post update

Let a team like Bayern Munich play their game and you will be bang in trouble. That's a valuable lesson learned by Roma tonight.

  3. Manager reaction

    Roma 1-7 Bayern Munich

    Roma

Roma boss Rudi Garcia: "I am the first one who made the mistake, it is not the fault of the players, the first half approach was my fault entirely.

"It was the wrong strategy, we should've been more closed up and try to hit them on the counter-attack.

"It was a tactical collapse more than a psychological one. We weren't aggressive enough and allowed Bayern to play."

  4. Post update

Some great quotes coming up from Roma manager Rudi Garcia...

  5. Player reaction

    Roma 1-7 Bayern Munich

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi: "We must learn the lesson after this loss. We were waiting for this game, the whole city was waiting for it.

"I am sorry for the fans, they clapped their hands for us at the end of the game and it hurts because they are great and they deserved something better."

  6. Text us on 81111

Paul in Norwich: Nathan Ake, what a fantastic performance. Zouma faultless. Willian and Hazard exceptional. Filipe Luis class. And two Chelsea old school heroes on the scoresheet. Can't wait for the United game this weekend... Can't wait.

Vardan in London: Still don't think Man City will beat Roma away, or Bayern. It's Europa League for them at best I'm afraid.

  7. Post update

What was Pep's pre-match team-talk then? Do what I tell you and you'll come back in 5-0 up?

  8. Player reaction

    Roma 1-7 Bayern Munich

    Thomas Muller

Bayern forward Thomas Muller: "We did an excellent job in the first half. This is because we were prepared so well by the coach.

"At half-time we were 5-0 up but there was still 45 minutes to go, that was a bit weird."

A record night of Champions League goals - but who is your favourite to win the trophy this year?

Aitazaz: PSG - Is it the year for the dark horse to win the big one?

Olanrewaju: I am tipping FC Bayern to win the Champions League. They were so close to it last season.

Osun Connect: Man City are best as domestic champions. They'll always flop in Europe.

  10. Post update

    Roma 1-7 Bayern Munich

    BBC Radio 5 live

Italian football expert Mini Rzouki on BBC Radio 5 live:

"You can say it's a collapse. But this is the most beautiful I have seen Bayern play.

"The tactics, the strategy, there was no formation you could understand because it was players moving around all over the place."

    On Ashley Cole's performance:

"You can say to him that the reason why you are at Roma is because you have the experience to deal with these situations and he didn't tonight. But you can't blame this all on him."

  11. Manager reaction

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

    Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "We played seriously. We faced the game in the right way and even at half-time at 3-0 the boys kept playing at a good speed and with good quality.

"I was surprised that Eden Hazard gave the ball to Didier Drogba for the penalty. I wasn't particularly pleased, no. I have my choices and Hazard is number one. Because it was a goal, I was happy.

"Loic Remy has a problem in his groin, I don't know. Normally a muscular problem is a muscular problem so a couple of weeks. I was not expecting Didier to play for 75 minutes but he had to come on.

"Now he has to improve his condition, we know the player he is and we know he can still give us a lot."

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

Brett Flanders: That's the best Chelsea have played this season and Hazard was immense. Really impressed with Ake, his pass for Hazard was fantastic.

Donald Oluoch: ‏With such form, Man Utd's scouting report of Chelsea will highlight the skill and ease with which Eden Hazard is tearing up defences.

Atoyebi Oyelere: Why is it that Cech keeps clean sheets and Courtois does not? A tell-tale sign to Mourinho of who should be the number 1?

  13. Post update

We go again tomorrow night of course - with the small matter of Liverpool v Real Madrid topping the bill...

  14. Text us on 81111

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

James from London: Listening to Danny Mills on Radio 5 live, I'd prefer to win the league than reach the Champions League final, because the team that wins the league is always the best of everyone who competes.

Jill from Leamington: Game was a joy to watch; players showing total understanding of each other and the youngsters slotted in so well too.

  16. Player reaction

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

    Didier Drogba

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, speaking to Sky Sports: "To finish [my time at Chelsea] with a penalty and start again with a penalty was nice symmetry. I am really happy because of the way we played today. We scored one, then two and didn't stop, we continued to play.

"I wanted to score that goal. I asked him [Eden Hazard] and he said it was OK. This is the spirit we have in this team. We share goals and we are happy when everyone is scoring and it will help me for my confidence.

Ready to play against Man Utd if Diego Costa and Loic Remy injured? "The manager will decide but I am available for the team as always."

  17. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Joe Creaser: The inevitable Real - Bayern final is going to be some spectacle. Best teams in Europe by a mile.

Gomez: Luiz Adriano has scored five goals for Shakhtar Donetsk, if he was an English player we wouldn't hear the last of it.

Chris Bloomfield: Guaranteed to have all Champions League games 0-0 tomorrow after the goal fest tonight!

  18. Post update

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"Jose Mourinho sets very high standards, like Alex Ferguson did at Manchester United in his prime. He will not accept slackness or sloppy play.

"From the first minute to the last their play was exceptional. Because they move ball sharply Maribor could not get near them. But not just with the ball, their running was excellent too."

  19. Post update

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"A fantastic, professional performance from Chelsea. They maintained the highest standards all the way through.

"Loic Remy going off with an injury is the only down side.

"The way they passed the ball and kept going to the end of the game was a very, very professional performance."

  20. Post update

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

"Anything other than a stately walk in the park for Jose Mourinho's boys, and I'll be amazed."

That's what I said at 17:48 and for once a prediction has come off. Hardly earth-shattering, admittedly, but they don't come along too often.

Chelsea to go all the way? They certainly look the Premier League's best bet...

  21. FULL-TIME

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

Eden Hazard almost has a hat-trick after a brilliant mazy run - but that's full-time. At least four Maribor players ask the Belgian for his shirt at full-time. That's how good he was.

  22. NEW RECORD

That's 37 goals in the Champions League tonight - a record for one night...

  23. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

    Chelsea 6-0 Maribor

Tim Arstall: Hazard must have ice running through his veins with penalties like that. No hesitation, just stares down the keeper.

Aaron Buxton: Hazard has been brilliant tonight but the one player who just seems to get better every time I see him is Willian.

Aashish: Good training session for Chelsea before the Manchester United match.

  24. GOAL

Chelsea 6-0 Maribor - Eden Hazard

What a goal this is! Nathan Ake picks up the run of Eden Hazard with a quarterback style pass over the top, Hazard's touch to bring it down is fantastic, and he cuts inside the last man before curling into the roof of the net.

Chelsea on for their biggest ever Champions League win.

  25. Post update

    Barcelona 2-1 Ajax

Ajax have hit a late goal to set up a grandstand finish at the Nou Camp...

Follow the action in that one here.

  26. Post update

    Chelsea 5-0 Maribor

Chelsea haven't had much defending to do since the half-hour mark so credit to John Terry and then Kurt Zouma, who both react well to block low shots in a melee in the box. Zouma hasn't put a foot wrong tonight.

    Roma 1-7 Bayern Munich

Shohidur Rahman: One of the most horrific goalkeeping performances I've ever seen from De Sanctis tonight. Feel for Roma.

Peter Malath: Ashley Cole right now...

    Ashley Cole
  28. Post update

    Bate Borisov 0-7 Shakhtar Donetsk

This man now has five goals.

    Adriano for Shakhtar

Who is he? Luiz Adriano. He has added a second penalty of the night to Shakhtar's haul at Bate Borisov and they now lead 7-0.

  29. Post update

    Chelsea 5-0 Maribor

Branislav Ivanovic has got forward well all night and has another cross cut out at the near post. Chelsea are down to walking pace now.

  30. Post update

    Roma 1-7 Bayern Munich

Arjen Robben cuts in from the flank again and feeds second-half substitute Franck Ribery who cheekily chips the ball over Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis and into the net.

Before kick-off Xherdan Shaqiri is introduced and he pounces on a spill from the home goalkeeper to score a seventh with his first touch. There are still 10 minutes remaining.

  31. Post update

    Chelsea 5-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"You have to be an exceptional player to score like that. You are told to look at the goal as the goal doesn't move. Hazard does the complete opposite and waits for the goalkeeper to move.

"The goalkeeper moves out of the way and then you don't even have to hit it that hard.

"Interesting that Hazard took it though and not Drogba. It shows that Chelsea have this great team ethic."

  32. Post update

    Chelsea 5-0 Maribor

Five is about the going rate for tonight it seems. Can Chelsea get another?

  33. Post update

    Chelsea 5-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

On youth product Dominic Solanke coming on for Chelsea:

"We talk about players coming through the youth system. Chelsea produce a lot of players for other clubs through theirs.

"They have fantastic players and Dominic Solanke is now fortunate he has now got a chance in the first team.

"But let's remember, a lot of Manchester United players did that for a long time. A lot of players came through their system but didn't play for United."

  34. GOAL

Chelsea 5-0 Maribor - Eden Hazard (Pen)

    Eden Hazard

He doesn't even look at the ball. Waits for the keeper to move, and just slotted home by Eden Hazard.

  35. PENALTY to CHELSEA

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

Branislav Ivanovic is brought down for a penalty

Marko Suler has his hands on Branislav Ivanovic, who goes down elaborately, but the penalty is given.

    Michail Antonio celebrates

It is now 2-2 in the big game in the Championship, with Michail Antonio scoring his second of the night to bring Nottingham Forest level at Watford. It is also 2-2 at Rotherham, where Cauley Woodrow has brought Fulham back into the game after Jonson Clarke-Harris had given the home side the lead.

Two goals from Brett Pitman have helped Bournemouth to a commanding 3-0 home lead against Reading, while goals from Federico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre have made it Cardiff 3-1 Ipswich.

Johnnie Jackson's goal for Charlton made it 2-0 against Bolton but a Dean Moxey goal has given Neil Lennon's side hope. At Carrow Road it is 1-1, with Leeds striker Souleymane Doukara cancelling out Russell Martin's opener for Norwich.

  37. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

What a strike! Brilliant hit from Willian, who was invited to shoot by a retreating defence and obliged, smashing a 20-yarder against the underside of the crossbar!

The last four penalties Petr Cech has faced in the Champions League have not been scored (excluding shootouts). The wall...

Richard Parfitt: Penalty should be retaken, Cech nowhere near his line, what's the point of the ref behind the goal? I say this as a Chelsea fan.

Agubata Odinaka: The fact that Chelsea can also play in a completely different way than this is proof that they are a team built for all weather.

Tor Noppharat: Love how willing Willian is, coming to cover as right-back when Ivanovic got stuck high up the pitch. Lovely!

  42. Post update

    Roma 1-5 Bayern Munich

Bayern's defence has finally been breached.

A slick counter sees Radja Nainggolan cross for Gervinho who nods a consolation and the first goal Bayern have conceded since 30 August.

  43. SUBSTITUTION

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

Remember Zlatko Zahovic? He was brilliant at Euro 2000 for Slovenia. Long hair, silky skills - bit of a Dimitar Berbatov sort of player.

Well his son Luka Zahovic has just come on. If players from the early 2000s are going to start having sons in the first team, I'm going to start feeling very old indeed.

  44. Post update

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

On Maribor's missed penalty that hit the post:

"Well everything is going for Chelsea. Cech dived full length and maybe he knew something we didn't and that was why he was smiling beforehand.

"But another six inches inside the post and Cech wouldn't have got it. Disappointing for Maribor."

  45. CLOSE!

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

What a hit that is! Oscar shoots from 20 yards, the keeper doesn't move and it pings a yard wide of the far corner...

  46. European latest

Guillermo Fernandez levels for Athletic Bilbao in Porto, it's 1-1 there and the Spanish club need at least a draw to keep any realistic chances of qualifying for the knockout stages alive.

They currently only have one point. If it stays like this, Porto and Shakhtar will be on five.

  47. Latest scores

    League Two update

As it stands, Burton are going top of League Two as they lead 4-2 at Carlisle. Leaders Wycombe are currently drawing 1-1 at Exeter. Shrewsbury have also hit four, at home against Bury, with Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro bagging a hat-trick.

Oxford have come back from a goal down to lead 3-1 at Northampton with Danny Hylton scoring two of their goals. Elsewhere, Miles Storey's goal has made it Portsmouth 2-1 Stevenage and a Josh Coulson own goal has given Cheltenham a 2-1 lead at Cambridge.

  48. MISSED PENALTY

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

    Agim Ibraimi scores

It's not your night lads. Agim Ibraimi steps up, hits the penalty hard and low - but against the post...

  49. PENALTY to MARIBOR

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

Clumsy as you like. Bull in a china shop as Nemanja Matic runs right into Agim Ibraimi. Pen.

  50. Post update

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

Oscar has a shot well blocked as Chelsea look for a fifth. Nathan Ake has already put in two great tackles in midfield, he has the look a young Ruud Gullit and if he's a tenth of the player he's one to watch.

  51. Post update

    Roma 0-5 Bayern Munich

    Pep Guardiola
  52. SUBSTITUTION

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

Right on cue, there is a Chelsea change. Cesc Fabregas gets a rest and Nathan Ake comes on. Chance for the youngster to impress.

  53. Post update

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"I'm surprised that no Chelsea substitutes are warming up. I know he had to make one with Drogba coming on for Remy.

"With Hazard still looking sharp, you would think he might be thinking about giving one or two a rest before the weekend."

  54. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Roma 0-5 Bayern Munich

Roma start the second-half against Bayern in the fashion of a team who have had a talking to in the changing room.

Gervinho races clear and hits the post and Alessandro Florenzi is denied by a brilliant Manuel Neuer save.

  55. SUBSTITUTION

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

There wasn't much that Mitja Viler could do about that own goal, but coach Ante Simundza has instantly hauled him off. Unless he's injured that's a bit harsh...

  56. Post update

    Chelsea 4-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"Hazard gets lucky and he knows it. He wheels away and looks to the sky.

"He has fired the cross in, looking for Didier Drogba two yards out, and it hits the defender's heel and it goes in the back of the net.

"It just goes to show how easy it is for Chelsea as Hazard has got in twice in the last few minutes."

  57. GOAL

Chelsea 4-0 Maribor - Mitja Viler OG

    Eden Hazard celebrates with teammates

Chelsea have a fourth and it's a great move. Willian feeds in left-back Filipe Luis on the overlap, he has so much composure to skip over a tackle and take all the time he has before rolling over a cross. Eden Hazard retrieves it, puts it back across goal and it goes in off the heels of Mitja Viler.

  58. Post update

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

Almost brilliant! Eden Hazard plays it to Didier Drogba, whose return reverse ball is perfectly weighted for the Belgian. It's crying out for a first time laces, but Hazard tries one more turn and is tackled. Put your foot through it!

  59. Post update

Ashley Cole on loan to QPR in January?

  60. Cole hooked off at the break

    Roma 0-5 Bayern Munich

Arjen Robben has seemingly put and end to Ashley Cole's night. The former Arsenal and Chelsea defender has had the hook at half-time and been replaced by Jose Holebas.

Cole came up short for both of Robben's goals. He was beaten for the first (pictured) and lost the Dutchman's run for the second.

Mark in Ireland: Chelsea look like the only English side with a proper chance of winning the Champions League this season, solid in all departments.

Danny: Who do these European clubs think they are strolling to 5 and 6 nil up at half time - this could devalue Southampton's eight goal thumping of Sunderland!

  62. Post update

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

Chelsea go close again, great leap and header from Kurt Zouma - built like a second-row rugby union forward - but Jasmin Handanovic grabs it in.

    Roma 0-5 Bayern Munich

Shaun: How many more goals before Roma players offer to refund the fans' tickets?

Jim Harrison: Wonder what Ashley Cole must be thinking right now.

Steven Jerjian: Bayern to lay the ghost of Madrid to bed this year. Lewandowski, Alonso and Benatia add the spine they lacked last season.

  64. KICK-OFF

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

Back in play at Chelsea. Three goals just won't cut it tonight Jose...

  65. Shakhtar's half-time record

This team has registered the biggest half-time lead in Champions League history...

    Shakhtar Donestk

    Now where is that abacus....

  66. The Real deal

    Carlo Ancelotti

Posing like a model on Bruce's Price is Right, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is looking forward to tomorrow night's game against Liverpool.

"It's an honour to play in a legendary stadium like this one in charge of Real Madrid #HalaMadrid," he tweeted.

  67. HALF-TIME

    Championship update

    Federico Macheda celebrates

Goals flying in in Europe but it is all very tight in the Championship, with no team holding more than a one-goal advantage at the break. Michail Antonio's goal pinned Watford back almost as soon as they had taken the lead to give Nottingham Forest parity at Vicarage Road. Peter Whittingham's goal means it is Cardiff 1-1 Ipswich.

A Ross McCormack penalty has brought Fulham level at Rotherham and Lewis Dunk's goal means it is Huddersfield 1-1 Brighton. Elsewhere, Charlton lead Bolton and Wolves have the advantage against Middlesbrough.

  68. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

    Roma 0-5 Bayern Munich

Forever Young: Bayern doing to Roma what Roma did to Moscow. When in Rome, act like the Romans perhaps?

Dav Gaddu: Roma 0-5 Bayern reminds me of Brazil 1-7 Germany. Germans at it again.

Robin Davies: One good thing happening tonight for City is Bayern absolutely ruining Roma's goal difference. One better than Sunderland maybe?

Alan Wilson: The way Bayern are playing tonight we could soon see a cricket score.

  69. Schalke level against 10-man Lisbon

The race for second in Chelsea's group looks on as it is now 1-1 in Germany between Schalke and Sporting Lisbon. Nani had given the visitors the lead but they have had Brazilian defender Mauricio sent off and Chinedu Obasi has levelled.

  70. Record in sight

The biggest win in the Champions League group stage is Liverpool's 8-0 romp at Anfield against Besiktas in 2007.

    Peter Crouch scores against Besiktas

That record is under serious threat in these next 45 minutes. Bayern and Shakhtar look like they can score at will.

  71. Latest scores

    League Two update

Shrewsbury have hit three first-half goals to hold a commanding lead against Bury. Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro has two of them, with Connor Goldson getting the other.

Second-placed Burton have gone one better, scoring four at Carlisle through Damien McCrory, Lee Bell, Jacob Blyth and Alexander MacDonald, with Kyle Dempsey scoring what is looking already like a consolation for the home side.

Elsewhere, leaders Wycombe are drawing 1-1 at Exeter, while Luton, who are third, lead 2-0 against Dagenham & Redbridge.

  72. In the gallery

  73. Post update

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"It might be a cliche but Chelsea are making the ball do the work, because they pass it sharply.

"Maribor can't get near it as Chelsea don't take four or five touches and are not hesitant.

"They keep the ball moving all around the pitch."

  74. Party on the plane home?

    Shakhtar Donetsk celebrate

It seems big wins away from home are catching on, because joining Bayern Munich are Shakhtar Donetsk.

They are making mince meat of Bate Borisov and lead 6-0, a result which will see them go at least second in Group H. Luiz Adriano has a hat-trick already.

The other game in that group is goalless between Porto and Athletic Bilbao.

  75. HALF-TIME

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

    Routine, regulation, respectable.

  76. Latest scores

    League One update

Plenty of goals already in League One. Leaders Bristol City are being held 1-1 by Bradford, with Aden Flint's early goal for the home side being cancelled out by Billy Clarke. Oliver Turton's goal means second-placed Peterborough trail 1-0 at Crewe.

Swindon and Sheffield United, both of whom are in the play-off places lead 1-0, against Yeovil and Rochdale respectively. Jonathan Forte has scored twice for Oldham, who lead Coventry 3-1, while Devante Cole and Conor Hourihane have scored for Barnsley, who lead Notts County 2-1.

  77. Post update

    Jose Mourninho looks on

Jose Mourinho's name rings out around Stamford Bridge but the Special One looks plain bored on the bench. This one is done and dusted - surely?

  78. Post update

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

The Champions League has gone goals mad. As Bayern almost have a sixth in Rome, Eden Hazard lines up a fourth for Chelsea but his low shot is well held by Jasmin Handanovic.

John Terry is knocked to the ground at the other end by Agim Ibraimi and clutches at his shoulder - but he's fit and well. Nothing to see here.

Matt Judge: Chelsea 3-0 up. One penalty that isn't a penalty and two goals that could (should?) have been given offside.

Brett Mills: A defence splitting though-ball, an 80-yard run to finish a counter attack... who are you and what have you done with Mr Terry?

Fahad Khan: Drogba scores, Terry scores. Is this the Chelsea Oldies night?

  80. Bayern hit five

    Roma 0-5 Bayern Munich

    Robben celebrates

Speaking of cricket, there is an impressive first-innings score being built in Rome - impressive and vicious from Bayern Munich.

Arjen Robben makes a run from outside the full-back near the touchline to get in behind the defence and the Dutchman is picked out to power his second of the game home. That's 4-0.

And the punishment is not ending. A handball in the area sees a penalty awarded and Thomas Muller converts low into the corner.

    That's 35 minutes, five goals. A bludgeoning.

  81. Post update

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

Is it time to bring in a cricket-style declaration?

Jose Mourinho, whose side face Manchester United at the weekend, would gladly shake hands with counterpart Ante Simundza right now and give his players an hour off. Maribor could make an earlier flight home - job done...

  82. Post update

    Chelsea 3-0 Maribor

    Danny Mills

"What is John Terry doing in the centre-forward position? It's a fantastic goal.

"Eden Hazard was instrumental and carried the ball for 40 yards, maybe more, and he was patient and waited for the support to arrive.

"Terry must have ran the full length of the pitch to score that goal. He may well have been offside, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt for that one."

  83. Post update

There is a distinct lack of goals in the Championship. Four more have gone in since Huddersfield scored the first of the evening against Brighton. In the big game at the top of the table, Watford lead against Nottingham Forest through Odion Ighalo's goal. Ipswich are 1-0 up at Cardiff thanks to a Daryl Murphy strike, Alex Revell has scored to make it Rotherham 1-0 Fulham and Charlton lead against Bolton courtesy of George Tucudean.

  86. GOAL

Chelsea 3-0 Maribor - John Terry

    John Terry celebrates

Dider Drogba, now John Terry?! All the old boys are in on the act. Drogba clears a Maribor corner, Eden Hazard dribbles it from halfway and waits for Cesc Fabregas to arrive on his shoulder. Fabregas looks up and picks out Terry in the goalmouth, he has made a 70-yard run and can't miss.

  87. Post update

    Chelsea 2-0 Maribor

Showboat o'clock? Eden Hazard tries an outrageous backheeled through ball which very nearly comes off and moments later a neat turn from Cesc Fabregas opens up a shooting chance which is well blocked.

Andy: Lights out for Maribor at the Bridge already.

  89. Barca two up, Bayern three

    Messi celebrates

Bayern Munich and Barcelona are seemingly in sync. Earlier they both scored within seconds of each other and they have just replicated the feat.

Andres Iniesta zips a ball into Lionel Messi's feet and the little magician needs no further invitation to nudge the ball home, they lead Ajax 2-0.

Bayern extend their lead at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma to 3-0 with Mario Gotze curling their second from 18 yards and Robert Lewandowski heading a third from six yards. They are in ruthless form.

    Danny Mills

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"Not bad for a third striker, Drogba. I know he might be more senior and he may not have the pace and running ability he once had but he is still a huge danger.

"Not only for Maribor, but at Old Trafford, if he plays. He will certainly cause that back four (Man Utd) problems."

  98. Who's next?

    Chelsea 1-0 Maribor

Diego Costa is out. Loic Remy is injured. So who is next behind Didier Drogba? Well, Chelsea have plenty of players of course - but they have 26 (TWENTY-SIX) out on loan.

Youngster Dom Solanke is on the bench tonight and could get some game time in the coming weeks.

  99. SUBSTITUTION

  102. Goals at Barcelona and Roma

Goals have arrived in two of tonight's big games.

    Arjen Robben scores

In Barcelona, Neymar profits from a Lionel Mess run and pass to curl the Catalan club into the lead against Ajax. A smart finish from 15 yards by the Brazilian. You can read more about it in our live text commentary of that game.

And in Italy, Roma trail Bayern Munich early on. Arjen Robben cuts inside from the right to fire left footed across goal. It is vintage Robben - you know where he is going to put the ball but no-one can do anything about it.

What a ball! John Terry plays the role of Cesc Fabregas, picking out a cracking pass from the halfway line to send Loic Remy away. Remy may have been just offside, but he cuts inside and curls home a low shot from 20 yards.

Remy then grimaces in pain, has he popped his groin in scoring that goal?

"I don't want to talk about the referee.

"Everyone must know that football is for 95 minutes, we are away against a difficult team and they drew the game but I don't think that is just a revelation for the Champions League.

  130. Messi on for another record?

    Barcelona v Ajax (19:45 BST)

    Lionel Messi

Barca boss Luis Enrique and Ajax counterpart Frank de Boer are firm friends from their time together as Nou Camp team-mates between 1999 and 2003 - but there will be no old pals' act tonight.
