  1. Post update

We've seen dominant performances from the champions of Spain and Italy tonight. And guess what? They're playing each other in midweek. Juventus travel to Spain for a humdinger of a Champions League group match against Atletico before returning to Turin for a top-of-the-table showdown with Roma on Sunday. We'll bring you both of those matches live on the BBC Sport website.

For now though, it's time to say ciao. Hasta la proxima amigos.

  2. Post update

    Italian Serie A

The victory takes Juventus back to the top of the table, ahead of Roma on goal difference after both teams won their first five matches.

  3. Post update

A great win for Juve, but it might have been a very different story had German Denis converted a penalty to make it 1-1. Instead Gianluigi Buffon saved his rather tame effort and Carlos Tevez went up the other end and fired Juve 2-0 up.

  4. FULL-TIME

    Atalanta 0-3 Juventus

Juve come close to icing their cake and slapping a big fat cherry on the top as Marchisio's pass nearly sends Lichsteiner clear, but the Swiss full-back can't quite reach it. That's the last action as the ref brings down the curtain on a resounding win for Juventus.

  5. INJURY TIME

    Atalanta 0-3 Juventus

This would be a third successive defeat for Atalanta and a third successive home game without scoring. Looks like they will be facing a battle to survive this season. They are something of a yo-yo club having been demoted in 2003, 2005 and 2010, but bounced back straight away every time.

  6. SUBSTITUTION

    Atalanta 0-3 Juventus

Carlos Tevez's work is done. With only five minutes plus stoppages to go, the Argentine striker is replaced by Kingsley Coman.

  7. GOAL

Atalanta 0-3 Juventus - Alvaro Morata

Cracking team goal for Juve to put this game to bed. Tevez feeds Pereyra with a delicate pass inside the full-back. Pereyra looks up and scoops the ball to the far post where Morata plants his header home. It's the Spaniard's first goal since his move from Real Madrid.

    Alvaro Morata
  8. Post update

    Atalanta 0-2 Juventus

We've played 81 minutes and Carlos Tevez is still running around as if the game had just started. He always did have a ferocious work rate. A corner is cleared only as far as Zappacosta for Atalanta, but he drives high and wide. Time is running out for the boys from Bergamo.

  9. Post update

    Atalanta 0-2 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Chance, and a very good one for Atalanta. Bianchi flicks on a cross from the left and the ball falls kindly for Molina, but he lashes it over the bar.

  10. YELLOW CARD

    Atalanta 0-2 Juventus

Ouch! Patrice Evra goes into the book for a really nasty sliding challenge. And there's a final throw of the dice for Atalanta as they bring on former Man City striker Rolando Bianchi. Fifteen to go.

  11. Post update

    Atalanta 0-2 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Tevez ... almost the hat-trick! Morata sprints down the left and squares it for Tevez, whose shot takes a slight deflection and is comfortably saved.

  12. SUBSTITUTION

    Atalanta 0-2 Juventus

A change up front for the Italian champs. Alvaro Morata, their 20m euro signing from Real Madrid, replaces his fellow Spaniard Llorente. And Morata almost makes an early impact, collecting a pass from Tevez, but delaying his shot and allowing Atalanta to make the block.

  13. Post update

    Atalanta 0-2 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

That's four in four for Tevez now. Along with the indestructible Pogba he is absolutely running the game.

Atalanta manager Stefano Colantuono did not watch the penalty, only looking round when the fans did not cheer. Maybe he'll watch the next one.

  14. GOAL

Atalanta 0-2 Juventus - Carlos Tevez

Wow. If Denis wasn't already feeling bad enough for missing that penalty, he will be a broken man now. Seconds after Buffon's save, Juve go straight up the other end and punish him further. And it's that man Carlos Tevez again. The bullish Argentine cuts in from the right before smashing a thunderbolt low into the bottom corner.

    Carlos Tevez
  15. MISSED PENALTY

German Denis picks his spot but Buffon goes the right way and palms it away with his left hand. In truth, the effort badly lacked power. A terrible waste for the hosts.

    Denis misses penalty
  16. PENALTY TO ATALANTA

What an impact from the substitute Molina. He gets to the ball just before Chiellini and the Italian defender brings him down. Molina makes a bit of a meal of it, but it looks a pen to me.

  17. Post update

    Atalanta 0-1 Juventus

I'd forgotten what a good player Tevez was, so strong and purposeful. His slick pass sets up Vidal, who takes a touch on the edge of the area and fires off a shot that rises over the bar.

  18. SUBSTITUTION

A very early change for Atalanta in the second-half. Salvatore Molina replaces Estigarribia on the right.

  19. FULL-TIME

    Atletico Madrid 4-0 Sevilla

Happy days at the Vicente Calderon. Sevilla's five-match winning run is snapped in half as Atletico go second in the league, two points behind Barcelona. Sevilla slide down to fourth. Emphatic from the champions.

  20. KICK-OFF

    Atalanta 0-1 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

The referee gives his whistle a good old toot - and that means it is game on again in Bergamo.

  21. GOAL

Atletico Madrid 4-0 Sevilla - Raul Jimenez

This is a rout. Yet another set-piece header yields goal number four. The delivery is so inviting and Atletico players are queuing up to score. Jimenez gets there first and slams a flying header into the net. It's the Mexican's first goal for his new club.

    Raul Jimenez celebrates
  22. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 3-0 Sevilla

Raul Garcia is winding everyone in a white shirt up out there. Mind you, Suarez is the instigator, shoving into the side of Garcia, who then engages in a pushing contest with Banega and Bacca and picks up a booking.

  23. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 3-0 Sevilla

    Spanish La Liga

Simeone is officially loving life again, waving his arms up and down and imploring the fans to raise the roof. A long-ball frees Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca in the box, but his touch is poor, and the ball goes off for a goal-kick.

  24. GOAL

Atletico Madrid 3-0 Sevilla - Raul Garcia

Raul Garcia wrong-foots the keeper and finds the corner. This has to be Atletico's best performance of the season.

    Raul Garcia celebrates
  25. PENALTY TO ATLETICO

Blatant pen. Raul Jimenez finds Griezmann with a chipped pass, but as he turns he is taken out by the hapless Figueiras.

  26. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

Sevilla make their final change with exciting youngster Gerard Deulofeu thrown into the fray. Premier League watches will remember his box of tricks from Everton matches last season. His latest loan from Barcelona has taken him to southern Spain.

  27. HALF-TIME

    Atalanta 0-1 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

So far so good for Juve. Carlos Tevez's goal means they are sailing smoothly on course to continue their perfect start to the new Serie A season.

  28. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

    Spanish La Liga

Sevilla are still posing very little threat to the Atletico goal. Mbia attempts a drive from distance but a deflection takes all the sting out of it as it drifts harmlessly into Moya's hands.

  29. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

Simeone makes his third and final change as Mandzukic makes way for Raul Jimenez. The Croatian in the black masts gets some warm applause for his efforts. Griezmann replaced Saul Niguez earlier by the way.

  30. Post update

    Atalanta 0-1 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

How have Juventus not bagged a second? I'm not sure. Atalanta shoot themselves in the foot, sloppily conceding possession inside their own area, with the lurking Patrice Evra ready to pounce. His dink picks out Spanish striker Fernando Llorente, who is disappointed to see his header drop past the wrong side of the post.

  31. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

    Spanish La Liga

His team may be leading 2-0 but Diego Simeone is still leaping around like a man possessed. He absolutely tears a strip off Arda Turan for misplacing a pass.

Chance here as Raul Garcia breaks free on the right and crosses for sub Griezmann, who conjures a finish with his thighs and sends the ball over the bar.

  32. CLOSE!

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

Back to back chances for Atletico. Mandzukic shaves the post with a header from Juanfran's cross, then Beto palms away Arda Turan's piledriver.

  33. GOAL

Atalanta 0-1 Juventus - Carlos Tevez

    Italian Serie A

It has been coming. Carlos Tevez, as many Premier League defenders will testify, is an absolute nuisance. The Juventus striker has been at the heart of the away side's better moves and is 'Johnny on the Spot' to poke in Stephan Lichtsteiner's cross from the right. Deserved lead for the Italian champions.

    Carlos Tevez celebrates
  34. Post update

    Atalanta 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Almost the breakthrough. Carlos Tevez unleashes a thumper which should present no problem to Atalanta keeper Marco Sportiello. I say should because Sportiello inexplicably fumbles the ball and pushes it on to his right-hand post before gratefully gathering. That could have been very embarrassing...

  35. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

    Mario Mandzukic

Still very bad-tempered out there. Mandzukic (above) goes down after receiving another elbow. Then Sevilla's Vidal falls to the ground as if he'd been taken out by a sniper after receiving the slightest of touches from Koke, who is booked.

  36. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

    Spanish La Liga

Diogo Figueiras is seeing a lot of the ball on the right for Sevilla, but his end product is dreadful. First he floats a cross straight into the arms of Moya, then he boots the ball straight out of play for a goal-kick.

Meanwhile, striker Raul Garcia is putting himself about alongside Mandzukic up front for Atletico.

  37. Post update

    Atalanta 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Juventus are doing most of the running in Bergamo - but haven't tested the home keeper yet. Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is the latest culprit, firing hopelessly high and wide from distance. Spiky atmosphere among the Atalanta fans, some of who have been lobbing objects on to the pitch. Juve are looking far from intimidated though.

  38. Post update

OptaJose: 6 - Atletico Madrid have scored more headed goals than any other side in La Liga this season.

  39. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

    Spanish La Liga

Atletico have made a change too, with Raul Garcia coming on for Gabi, who picked up a knock in the first half.

  40. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

    Spanish La Liga

The second half has just started back in the Spanish capital, and Sevilla boss Unai Emery has made two changes at half-time, throwing Denis Suarez and Ever Banega into the action in the hunt for goals.

  41. Post update

    Atalanta 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Juve are in control now, stroking the ball around the carpet. Angelo Obonna brings a patient build-up to an end with a high and wild shot.

  42. Post update

    Atalanta 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

    Carlos Tevez

Juventus have no less than three former Manchester United players in their starting line-up tonight - Patrice Evra, Paul Pogba and Carlos Tevez. And the Argentine striker is in thick of things, cutting in from the left flank and firing a shot wide of the far post.

  43. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

John McEnerney: I'll stick by what I said before that Atletico Madrid will defend their title well but not well enough, and the Champions League will be too much for them!

  44. Post update

    Atalanta 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Juve have not conceded a league goal this season, but Atalanta have made a really bright start and are asking the Old Lady plenty of questions without creating any clear-cut openings.

  45. KICK-OFF

    Atalanta 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

We're off under the lights in Italy.

  46. HALF-TIME

    Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla

    Spanish La Liga

That really was a well-worked free-kick. The ball went through four players without touching the ground. Atletico well on top as the ref blows for half-time.

  47. Post update

    Atalanta v Juventus (19:45 BST)

    Italian Serie A

Countdown to kick-off across the Mediterranean Sea. Italian champions Juventus, who have yet to concede a Serie A goal this season, visit mid-table Atalanta. The Old Lady have won all of their opening four matches, but must beat Atalanta to keep pace with rivals Roma. The Giallorossi has just won 2-0 against Verona in the Olympic Stadium.

  48. GOAL

Atletico Madrid 2-0 Sevilla - Saul

Another Atletico goal from a set-piece. A free-kick from deep is headed back by Turan, volleyed across by Miranda and headed in by Saul at the far post. Straight off the training ground and Simeone is cock-a-hoop!

    Saul celebrates
  49. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Sevilla

Ooh, not bad. Vitolo slips in Carlos Bacca and the Sevilla striker makes space for himself before nudging the ball out of play. Sevilla's best move of the match, but that's not saying much.

  50. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Sevilla

Scrappy old game at the moment. No great flair from either side. The pitch isn't helping much. Looks like the groundsman might have forgotten the final cut this morning. Gleneagles this ain't.

  51. YELLOW CARD

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Sevilla

Mario Mandzukic gets himself in the ref's notebook for trying to divert an errant shot towards goal with his hand. Silly boy.

  52. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Sevilla

Great save! Gabi gets a free header from a corner and Sevilla keeper Beto athletically tips it over the bar.

  53. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Sevilla

Atletico are all over Sevilla at the moment and the Calderon faithful are baying for blood. Well, appealing for penalties anyway. The ref turns down two big claims for handball in the box. In fairness, both would have been very harsh on Sevilla.

  54. YELLOW CARD

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Sevilla

Moments later, Pareja is booked, meaning both Sevilla centre-backs are now on a yellow.

  55. GOAL

Atletico Madrid 1-0 Sevilla - Koke

    Koke

The first shot of the game brings the first goal. Sevilla fail to fully clear a corner. Koke collects on the edge of the box and lets fly, but his low effort deflects off the heels of Nicolas Pareja and loops over the goalkeeper into the top corner.

  56. YELLOW CARD

What did I say about the referee keeping his cards in his pocket? Sevilla's Timothee Kolodziejczak is lucky to escape with only a yellow as he clatters into the back of Gabi.

  57. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Still very tight in Madrid, with neither side willing to give an inch. One or two very tasty challenges going in too, but as yed the referee has kept his cards in his pocket.

  58. Bayern march on

Elsewhere in Europe today, German champions Bayern Munich remain top of the Bundesliga after Mario Gotze scored one and created another to beat newly-promoted Cologne 2-0.

  59. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Diego Simeone has apparently been told by the Atletico bigwigs to calm down but inside ten minutes he's jumping around like a mad man to remonstrate with the ref after Tiago receives an elbow in the back of his head

Mandzukic is wearing a mask to protect his recently repaired broken nose. Don't forget to tweet us your thoughts on this game, or any other European football issues via the hashtag #bbceurofootie.

  60. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Comical scenes as referee Gonzalez is accidentally tripped by Juanfran and takes a Hollywood tumble. There's a brief delay as he requires assistance from the fourth official to tuck his vanishing spray back into his shorts.

  61. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Very little to report early on. The ball has spent most of the first three minutes in the air. Nicola Pareja win Sevilla a free-kick with a sweet piece of skill.

  62. KICK-OFF

We are under way in the Vicente Calderon.

  63. Post update

We'll also be following a key game in Italy's Serie A this evening, as champions Juventus try to keep their 100% record intact away at Atalanta. That match kicks off at 1945 BST.

  64. Real & Barca win

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Earlier today in Spain, there were important wins for Real Madrid and Barcelona. Goals from Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo helped Real beat Villarreal 2-0. Ronaldo now has 13 goals already this season. That's 13.

And Neymar bagged a hat-trick for Barca in their emphatic 6-0 thumping of Granada. Lionel Messi popped in a couple two, the 400th and 401st of his glittering career.

Barca are three points clear of Valencia and Sevilla at the top of the table.

  65. LINE-UPS

    Atletico Madrid: 01 Moyá Rumbo, 23 Miranda, 02 Godín, 20 Juanfran, 15 Ansaldi, 14 Gabi, 10 Turan, 05 Tiago, 06 Koke, 17 Ñíguez, 09 Mandzukic

    Sevilla: 13 Beto, 15 Kolodziejczak, 05 Figueiras, 02 Trémoulinas, 21 Martín Pareja, 04 Krychowiak, 06 Carrico Martins, 25 Mbia, 22 Vidal Parreu, 09 Bacca, 20 Machín Pérez

  66. Post update

Sevilla are the surprise package in La Liga this season. Since losing 2-0 to Real Madrid in the Uefa Supercup final on 12 August Sevilla are unbeaten in six matches, winning their last five.

  67. Post update

    Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone
  68. Post update

Defending champions Atletico have scored just seven goals in their first five games and six of those have come from set-pieces. Centre-back Miranda is their top scorer, with three goals. Diego Simeone says he is confident new attackers Mario Mandzukic, Antoine Griezmann, Raul Jimenez and Alessio Cerci will start finding the net soon.

"It is what I imaged given the changes in the characteristics of the players," Simeone said. "We are in a period of fitting in the new arrivals in the best way. After Mandzukic's injury there was less possibilities for combinations to be created."

Croatia striker Mandzukic is back in the Atletico line-up tonight.

  69. Post update

Atletico Madrid's manager, the combustible Argentine Diego Simeone, will be back patrolling the touchline for the visit of high-flying Sevilla after serving his ban for tapping the fourth official on the back of the head after a heated exchange during the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid in August.

Can he inspire his shot-shy team?

  70. Post update

    He's back.

    Who's back?

    Diego's back.
