  2. Post update

    Spanish La Liga

Barcelona's 1-0 defeat at home to Celta Vigo has really put the cat among the pigeons though and you can read all about it here.

It has been a good night for Real Madrid and Atletico fans, while Sevilla fans could be partying tomorrow. A win at Athletic Bilbao and they are top on their own.

Sevilla top of La Liga? What uis going on?

  3. Post update

    German Bundesliga

    Robert Lewandowski

Bob, Bob, super Bob, super Robert Lewandowski........... Catchy eh?

  4. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

It seems an earlier suggestion from one of you that Lionel Messi is over rated has sparked a lot of debate.

DrHolmes: 250 goals in league, 3 UCLs, played at a WC final, most goals in a calendar year, 4 Ballon d'ors doesn't mean he's any good.

Jack Philip Green: Those who say that Messi is overrated are clueless, the man is genius. Plays at a pace that only Ronaldo can match.

John Roberts: I'm no Messi fan, but there's too many people, who clearly know very little about football, blasting him after one subpar game.

  5. Post update

    Spanish La Liga

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Earlier in La Liga, Cristiano Ronaldo scored for the 12th successive game to help Real Madrid beat Granada and move top of La Liga.

Ronaldo put the visitors ahead after only two minutes with a low finish after Karim Benzema's square pass.

The French forward then set up James Rodriguez, who made it 2-0 with a spectacular volley from 12 yards out.

Benzema collected Ronaldo's backheel and shot past goalkeeper Roberto for 3-0 before Rodriguez added a fourth from close range after another Ronaldo pass.

  6. Bayern deepen Dortmund's woes

    German Bundesliga

    Robert Lewandowski

It seems days ago now but the evening kicked off with another Bundesliga win for unbeaten Bayern.

It was far from easy for the defending champions though as they came from behind to leave last season's runners up Borussia Dortmund with just one point from seven matches.

Marco Reus gave Dortmund the lead at the Allianz Arena but late goals from Robert Lewbadowski and Arjen Robben earned the hosts victory.

  7. Post update

Finally time to take a breath and recap what has happened on a manic night of European football. Now where do we start?

Andy Kershaw: Now that is a proper top of a football table!!

You're not wrong Andy. Six teams separated by five points. Stunning.

  9. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

Mitch Mansfield: That's the first time #Barca have lost two consecutive #LaLiga games since 2009. Could drop to 5th tomorrow.

Good stats Mitch. It is also the first time they have failed to score at home in the league for 57 La Liga matches. 57? That is ridiculous.

  10. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

    Stats

When it's not your day, it just isn't your day. Barcelona dominated possession and had almost double the amount of shots than Celta Vigo but is the visitors having the party this evening - and what a party it is going to be.

  11. FULL-TIME

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

    Luis Suarez

Real Madrid are staying top. At least until Sevilla play tomorrow morning that is. Barcelona created enough chances to win four games but found goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez in unbeatable mood.

  12. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Free kick to Celta Viga in their own half. This should be enough to see them through. All credit to the visitors, what a brave display.

  13. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Groans from the Nou Camp crowd as Neymar sends a ball into touch. Three minutes of injury time.

  14. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Just a minute left of normal time for Barcelona to avoid a second successive La Liga defeat. Can they?

  15. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

Harry Flashman: Messi overrated nowhere near as good as Maradona people were allowed to kick him and did it in a much more difficult league.

Vinny Dozie: Messi is so overrated. Its total insanity comparing him to @CR7Official_ .CR7 has proven himself in several clubs.

ForzaJules: Messi's played in an era when referees deem most forms of contact illegal, and 2 games are not definitive of one's career.

Still think you are being harsh on Messi myself.......

  16. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

This just isn't going to go in for Barcelona. Luis Suarez's cross is inches away from Neymar's head as the Brazilian ends up in the net without the ball. Two minutes left.

  17. GREAT SAVE!

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Celta goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez is looking unbeatable.

Luis Suarez thinks he has crowned his home debut with a goal but somehow Alvarez gets finger tips to his low strike to send the shot wide. An incredible save.

  18. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

    Nolito
  19. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Brilliant skill from Celta substitute Charles. He takes the ball down with his chest with his back to goal, flicks the ball over a Barca defender before volleying towards goal. Claudi Bravo tips over. Time running out for the hosts.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Close but no cigar. Barca hit the woodwork for the fourth time as Messi's free kick hits the top of the bar and bounces to safety. Ten minutes left.

  21. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Another free kick for Barcelona from outside the penalty area. Messi lines it up......

  22. What a miss

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo almost wrap up victory and they should have done. Nolito's volley can only be palmed into the path of striker Charles by goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. But, with an empty net in front of him, the substitute stretches and heads over.

  23. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

Coffee mad: I have to say #messi has to be one of the most over-rated players, he has played in an era of non contact defending.

Wow, that is a brave shout.....

  24. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

    Lionel Messi

Maybe it isn't going to be Barcelona's night. Messi lashes the free kick horribly over. You don't expect that from him.

  25. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Luis Suarez plays a one-tow with Neymar before going tumbling inside the penalty area under Sergi Gomez's challenge.

The officials gives a free kick just outside the area, although Gomez looks to have won the ball.

Chance though from 18 yards for Barca......

  26. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

    Luis Suarez! No.

The former Liverpool man is standing six yards out with the goal at his mercy but somehow he heads Pedro's cross straight at goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez.

You don't get better chances than that to score on your home debut at the Nou Camp.

  27. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Coming up to the last 20 minutes and Celta Vigo are still holding firm. To be fair, they have looked less troubled this half so far.....

  28. SUBSTITUTION

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

Double change for Barcelona as they go four up top.

Pedro joins Suarez, Messi and Neymar in attack as he replaces Rafinha.

Playmaker Xavi is also on, with Sergio Busquets making way.

  29. GREAT SAVE!

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

He obviously was as he almost levels for Barca.

Messi picks the ball up inside Celta's penalty area, wriggles his way past a couple of defenders, before side footing a shot that is saved by the legs of goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez.

  30. Post update

    Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo

    Luis Suarez

You can have all the attacking talent in the world but if you can't defend you are always going to struggle. Barcelona have shown that this evening, but you still have to fancy one of their stars to pull them out of a hole.

    You listening Lionel........

  31. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

Andy: Great interlinkage by the front two for Celta Vigo.

Some Body: Good to see #Barca's defending is just as calamitous as #Liverpool's! Now if only Real could do likewise on Tue..

    Now you are dreaming.....

  32. GOAL

Barcelona 0-1 Celta Vigo - Joaquin Larrivey (54 mins)

    Celta Vigo

What a goal. Nolito's sublime back heel puts Joaquin Larrivey in on goal and he makes no mistake with a calm finish into the net. You can hear a pin drop at the Nou Camp.

  33. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

Lionel Messi slides Luis Suarez down the right channel but the Uruguayan hesitates and the chance is lost.

  34. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Luis Suarez

You get the feeling Celta Vigo are going to have to do a lot of defending this half but can Barca find the breakthrough?

If they don't, with Messi, Suarez and Neymar leading the attack, they can only have themselves to blame.

  35. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

With all the talk about Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Neymar's contribution to Barcelona so far this season is in danger of being overlooked.

The Brazilian is top scorer with 11 goals in 11 games but he should be celebrating another.

Jordi Alba's pull back finds Neymar unmarked six yards out but he has his head in his hands as he strikes against the bar. He has to do better.

  36. KICK-OFF

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo start the second half as they look to continue to frustrate their hosts.

  37. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

So what do you reckon then? Lionel Messi breaking the La Liga goal-scoring record with two goals? Luis Suarez to break his Barca duck? Celta Vigo to upset the odds?

Plenty of things to keep an eye out for in the second half. Teams are out again, this could be a blast.

  38. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Stats

Things have been pretty one-sided at the Nou Camp but the most important stat - the goals column - is still level. Barca boss Luis Enrique will be wondering when he changes things against his former club.

  39. Post update

    Spanish La Liga

    La Liga

As it stands, Barcelona won't return to the top of La Liga with a draw against Celta Vigo after Real Madrid's 4-0 win over Granada earlier today.

Champions Atletico Madrid also kept up the pressure with a 4-2 win over Cordoba, with fourth-placed Sevilla having the chance to return to the top tomorrow.

    La Liga is deliciously close.

Brent the Cynic: Marco Van Basten for me. My childhood football hero got 218 in 280 games, not the best strike rate but some pearlers in there.

With Lionel Messi just two goals away from becoming La Liga's all-time top scorer, we are asking what striker from past or present would you want in your side? Let us know via #bbceurofooty.

  41. HALF-TIME

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

Messi should have the La Liga scoring record by now. He doesn't, he still needs two after a wasteful first half from Barcelona.

  42. GREAT SAVE!

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

Neymar is the next Barca player to go close.

He races through on goal but his low slide-rule shot is parried away by goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez. A matter of time before the hosts take the lead?

  43. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Luis Suarez

There has been so much talk around Lionel Messi's record bid, it would be easy to forget that Luis Suarez is making his competitive home debut for Barcelona.

The former Liverpool striker is a little bit out of things at the moment.

Just as I say that, he receives the ball on the edge of the area and his low strike is well held by Sergio Alvarez.

  44. Post update

Ashley Watkinson: Difficult to see past Messi as best striker ever in Europe but Mario Jardel scored about a goal a game at 4 different clubs.

With Lionel Messi just two goals away from becoming La Liga's all-time top scorer, we are asking what striker from past or present would you want in your side? Let us know via #bbceurofooty.

  46. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Lionel Messi

Messi goes even closer seconds later as again he links up with Neymar.

This time he bursts through on goal but, after slotting the ball past goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez, a lunging defender hacks the ball against the bar and clear.

Messi could have a hat trick as he heads over from yards out.

  47. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

Messi almost levels the La Liga all-time scoring record.

The Argentine combines with Neymar before curling the ball towards the top corner. A diving Sergio Alvarez does brilliantly to parry the ball wide.

    Lionel is in the mood.

  48. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

Free header for Celta Vigo's Pablo Hernandez but straight at goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Barcelona continue to look a little dodgy from set plays this season.

  49. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

Our attention will now firmly switch to the Nou Camp where Barcelona are being held by Celta Vigo after 20 minutes. Apart from Neymar's brilliant strike against the bar, there has been little to get the pulses racing.

  50. FULL-TIME

    Bayern Munich 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

    German Bundesliga

    Robert Lewandowski

Bayern remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga as a seventh league defeat is inflicted on Dortmund. Miserable times for Jurgen Klopp's men.

Three minutes of injury time at the Allianz Arena. Dortmund have been unable to cope with Bayern this half and look like heading towards another defeat.

Wait a moment though, free-kick for Dortmund and a chance to put the ball in Bayern's box.

  54. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

Chance for Celta Vigo as Nolito lines up a free-kick from 18 yards. Well over the bar.

  55. GOAL

Bayern Munich 2-1 Borussia Dortmund - Arjen Robben (85 mins)

    German Bundesliga

Easy does it. Arjen Robben rolls the ball home as Roman Weidenfeller goes the wrong way. Things are looking bleak for Dortmund once more.

Subotic can have little complaint about the penalty. He can't touch Ribery there.

  56. PENALTY

    Bayern Munich 1-1 Borussia Dortmund

    German Bundesliga

Penalty to Bayern as Ribery goes down under Nevan Subotic's challenge.

  57. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

    Neymar

First chance of the night goes to Neymar but his header from Ivan Rakitic's free-kick is straight at the goalkeeper. The Brazilian then strikes the bar with a sublime curling effort from outside the area. So close

  58. Post update

    Bayern Munich 1-1 Borussia Dortmund

    German Bundesliga

Bayern are pushing for the winner but Dortmund still look as though they could threaten on the break. A lack of real chances in the last few minutes.

Thomas Muller is replaced by Claudio Pizarro for the hosts. Not a good night for Muller.

  59. Post update

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

Celta Vigo should not be under estimated at the Nou Camp. They have taken 16 points from nine games and will be out for an upset.

Luis Suarez and Neymar almost combine for Barca but the ball is hacked clear.

  60. KICK-OFF

    Barcelona 0-0 Celta Vigo

    Spanish La Liga

    Underway at the Nou Camp.

  61. GOAL

Bayern Munich 1-1 Borussia Dortmund - Robert Lewandowski (71 mins)

    German Bundesliga

Robert Lewandowski bites the hand that used to feed him.

The former Dortmund man latches on to a pass from Franck Ribery and finishes smartly. Bayern will fancy snatching the winner now.

  62. SUBSTITUTION

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

The teams are out at the Nou Camp. Surely a comfortable win for Barcelona coming up?

  64. What a miss

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

    Benatia

How did that not go in? Jerome Boateng's cross from the right has to be headed home by Mehdi Benatia but somehow he can only nod it wide. Dortmund's goal is leading a charmed life.

Me? I would go for former Bristol City and West Brom striker 'Super Bob Taylor' but, hailing from the West Country, I'm probably a little bit biased.

  66. FULL-TIME

    Empoli 0-2 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

After a goalless first half, Juventus claim a 2-0 win at Empoli to move three points clear at the top of Serie A.

Andrea Pirlo and Alvaro Morata are the goalscorers, although Carlos Tevez had a very impressive 22-minute cameo coming off the bench after starting as a substitute.

In injury-time, Tevez was about to burst through the Empoli defence before he was cynically chopped down by Lorenzo Tonelli, who was sent off.

  69. Post update

Just 15 minutes away from kick-off at the Nou Camp where Barcelona are looking for the win over Celta Vigo that will move them back to the top of La Liga.

Real Madrid are currently top after a 4-0 win over Granada while Atletico Madrid will temporarily move second if they hold on to their 4-2 lead over Cordoba.

Live text from the Nou Camp coming up where Luis Suarez starts and Lionel Messi needs two more goals to be La Liga's all-time top scorer.

  70. Post update

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

Thomas Muller this time bears down on goal for Bayern but, just as he is about to pull the trigger, Neven Subotic slides in to divert the ball clear. Dortmund are hanging on - just.

  71. GREAT SAVE!

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

    Roman Weidenfeller is looking unbeatable.

An equaliser looks certain as Robert Lewandowski chests the ball down in acres of space in the penalty area. His volley though from just six yards is deflected wide by the Dortmund goalkeeper's legs.

With his first touch he forces a fine save from Davide Messi, with Claudio Marchisio hitting the outside of the post with the rebound.

But Juventus are celebrating a minute later. Tevez passes to Alvaro Morata, who cuts back inside onto his left-foot and curls a shot into the net.

  79. HALF-TIME

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

    Marco Reus

A very watchable first half in the Der Klassiker. Bayern will feel they deserve to be level at least but Dortmund have shown real enterprise on the break.

How on earth are they doing so badly this season? Marco Reus's header the difference.

  80. GOAL

Empoli 0-1 Juventus - Andrea Pirlo (61 mins)

    Italian Serie A

Andrea Pirlo has put Juventus into the lead with his first Serie A goal since 16 March.

His side were awarded a free-kick 25-yards out, and the veteran Italy midfielder shows his class to curl a delivery over the wall and past the grasp of goalkeeper Davide Bassi.

Juventus will be going three points clear if the score stays the same.

  81. CLOSE!

    Empoli 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Still goalless in Empoli, but Juventus have their best chance of the match. A fine run down the left wing from Kwadwo Asamoah ends with Empoli goalkeeper Davide Bassi parrying his powerful shot.

The ball falls to Claudio Marchisio 15 yards out, but the Italy midfielder drags his shot wide.

  82. Post update

Into injury time in the first half at the Allian Arena. Bayern have done a lot of the pressing but Dortmund have the advantage.

  83. Suarez starts for Barcelona

Barcelona v Celta Vigo (19:00 GMT)

    Bayern should be level.

  86. GREAT SAVE!

Roman Wiedenfeller take a bow. The Dortmund goalkeeper is having a stormer.

This time, Arjen Robben's incisive through ball puts Thomas Muller through but his flick is blocked by the sprawling goalkeeper's trailing arm. Muller's radar isn't quite on at the moment

  87. Post update

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

A spell of pressure from Bayern but Dortmund survive just. Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben both go close as they bid to reply instantly.

  88. Post update

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

It hasn't been a complete surprise either. Just seconds earlier Aubameyang was denied by some sharp goalkeeping from Manuel Neuer as Dortmund look electric on the break.

Bayern have upset Dortmund through their pursuit of Marco Reus in recent months. Maybe the visitors will have the last laugh.

Bayern are turning the screw now as first Thomas Muller drags a shot wide of goal before volleying Arjen Robben's cross straight at goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller.

We have a short break in play as Henrikh Mkhitaryan is pole-axed by a clearance from his own goalkeeper. It looked comical but painful. He is back up now.

  96. CLOSE!

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

And just as I say that, Thomas Muller should put Bayern ahead. The German international races on to Jerome Boateng's dinked through ball but, meeting the ball on the volley, he slides it just wide.

So bottom three then Dortmund? How are you going to respond?

Quite well it would seem as they match an unbeaten Bayern in the opening 12 minutes. The game is yet to really get going though.

    Top of Bundesliga

There have already been four games in the Bundesliga today, with Wolfsburg securing a 4-0 away victory at Stuttgart to move up to second in the table, one point behind Bayern Munich.

Ivan Perisic scored twice with Robin Knoche and ex-Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (pictured) also on target for Wolfsburg.

    Kevin De Bruyne

A goal from ex-Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart was enough for Hamburg to beat Bayer Leverkusen, a result that sees Borussia Dortmund drop into the bottom three.

Results: Mainz 1-2 Werder Bremen, Hamburg 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen, Hannover 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurt, Stuttgart 0-4 Wolfsburg

  99. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

The hosts are almost stunned by a flowing move from Dortmund.

The ball is worked to Henrikh Mkhitaryan and, after working his way across the field, his 20-yard strike skims the outside of the post with Manuel Neuer well beaten.

    Jurgen Klopp

Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp certainly has got a lot to think about these days. He has enjoyed pretty much continuous success since being appointed in 2008, until now.

His past record ensures the fans are still with him though.

  101. GREAT SAVE!

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

Brilliant by Arjen Robben. The Dutchman slips the ball inside to Phillip Lahm, he receives it back from the German's back heel, and Robben's ferocious strike is well tipped over by goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller.

I hope for Dortmund's sake that isn't a sign of things to come.

  102. Post update

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

A cagey opening in the first few minutes as both sides look to feel each other out. With Dortmund's fragile confidence an early goal really could open the floodgates.

Dortmund could probably do with him having a nightmare.....

The teams are coming out at the Allianz Arena and both sets of fans are absolutely bouncing. Nice to see Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp give former striker Robert Lewandowski a hug as well..

While Dortmund could yet recover from their torrid start to the campaign, their Bundesliga beginning got me thinking about dramatic falls from grace in sport.

Can you think of anyone who has suffered a dramatic decline in their sport. It can be an individual, a team or even an animal. Let us know via #bbceurofooty.

Your contribution would be much appreciated - or else you have to have more of me.....

    Marco Reus

Marco Reus is at least attempting to play down the speculation about his future.

"There are a lot of people talking about my future," said Reus, 25. "Other people are thinking more about my future more than me".

Sadly for Dortmund though, you fear if Bayern want the midfielder they will get him.

  110. Going hungry?

Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund (17:30 GMT)

    Allianz Arena

There is a little bit extra riding on tonight's opener as well - with internal relations between Bayern and Borussia frosty to say the least.

Not satisfied with taking Dortmund's best players off them in recent seasons - notably Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski - they appear to be targeting Die Schwarzgelben's Marco Reus now.

Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is not the flavour of the month at Dortmund after making his interest public.

In fact, the traditional lunch between the bosses of the rivals has been scrapped this afternoon.......

Few would have predicted Dortmund's fall from grace so far this season.

Klopp's side were runners up last season, won the Bundesliga in 2011 and lifted the domestic double in 2012. Now they are struggling to win a league game.

There is a little bit of good news for them, as they top their Champions League group with three wins form three games.

Today's opponents Bayern also have a 100 per cent Champions League record, but they are flying high unbeaten at the top of the league too.

    Jurgen Klopp

There is a very tasty Bundesliga clash that is going to be our focus before we switch to La Liga though as Bayern Munich entertain Borussia Dortmund.

A match between title-challengers right? Perhaps not this season with Dortmund in 16th and without a win six. For boss Jurgen Klopp, 2014/15 has been an absolute nightmare.

This rivalry has recent history though. Rip up the form book because Dortmund will be out to wipe the smiles of Bayern's faces.

    Italian Serie A

    Gonzalo Higuain

In Italy Rafael Benitez's Napoli went third in Serie A with victory over Roma.

Gonzalo Higuain gave the hosts an early lead with an acrobatic volley from six yards following Lorenzo Insigne's deflected shot.

Roma, who started the day as joint leaders with Juventus, had chances but Alessandro Florenzi shot wide and also had a shot saved by Rafael Cabral.

But Jose Callejon sealed the win when he collected Higuain's pass and fired past goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.

    LeagueTable

Before we focus on what is to come, let's have a quick recap on what has already happened in Europe this weekend.

Real Madrid temporarily move to the top of La Liga with a crushing 4-0 win at Granada. Cristiano Ronaldo - of course - James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema were on target.

That lead may not last long mind.

  116. Forget the X-Factor

    Good evening. Hola. Guten Abend.

As you've just been told, Barcelona v Celta Vigo will be the centre of our attention later this evening with the Catalans looking to return to the top of the pile in La Liga.

But before that we will start with a live text commentary from Munich, where Bundesliga champions and leaders Bayern look to deepen Borussia Dortmund's already considerable woes.

Add to that, reactions and results from elsewhere in Europe and we have a busy night ahead. Forget the X-Factor!

  117. Magical Messi

Yes. After months of hype, tonight could be the night that Lionel Messi fires himself to the top of La Liga's all-time goal-scorers' list.

Messi has scored 250 goals in 284 appearances for Barcelona and is one behind Telmo Zarra's record for Athletic Bilbao in the 1940s and 1950s.

Can he get the two he needs to top the charts once more when Celta Vigo visit the Nou Camp this evening? Stick with us and you will see as we have live text commentary from 19:00 GMT.

It is only a matter of time surely?

  118. You want to be a record breaker?
