  1. Post update

Stoke fans will hope that the scan on Bojan's injury brings them good news, and that is goodnight from us.

See you tomorrow for more cup action, of the League Cup variety this time. It's Chelsea v Liverpool. See you there.

  2. Manager reaction

    Rochdale 1-4 Stoke

    Mark Hughes

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "We got the job done but credit to Rochdale.

"In the first half we found it difficult. We had a great goal from Bojan which helped us and in the second half we got to grips with them and turned it around.

"At the weekend a lot of teams fell by the wayside and we weren't going to let that happen to us. We waned to make headlines for the right reasons and thankfully Rochdale haven't made the news.

"Bojan's injury, it is too early to know, he's going for a scan and hopefully it will be good news. Since he came to the club he has done things like that, we see it in training every day.

"We look forward to going to Blackburn now. We'll take a huge following there."

  3. Manager reaction

    Rochdale 1-4 Stoke

    Keith Hill

Rochdale boss Keith Hill: "We tried to attack with intent and press the opposition but they are an excellent side. The game is marginal no matter where you stand in the pyramid. Fair play to Stoke, they were worthy winners in the end. The Bojan goal was a great piece of skill but it didn't frighten us.

"The lads have done the club credit."

Bolton earned a replay thanks to a 0-0 draw at Anfield after a fine display by keeper Adam Bogdan.

The winners will play Premier League side Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the fifth round.

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"Rochdale were not hammered at all. They played very well but they were undone by some top-class finishing.

"Stoke made sure. All four goals were clinically taken."

  8. Player reaction

    Rochdale 1-4 Stoke

Stoke forward Jon Walters: "It was always going to be tricky, but after the Bojan strike it was a professional game and we killed it.

"Before the game we knew what we needed to do. We did well in this competition a few years ago, but now we have Blackburn away and that's an interesting game.

"We are full of confidence and will take this into the league."

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

    Jon Walters

"Stoke named a really strong team tonight. As soon as you look around the dressing room as a Rochdale player you know what's coming. Rochdale were better than Stoke in the first half but Stoke scored three outstanding goals and that was the difference."

  13. FULL-TIME

    Rochdale 1-4 Stoke

    Rochdale and Stoke shake hands

The scoreline flatters Stoke City but they have booked a fifth-round tie against Blackburn.

  14. GOAL

Rochdale 1-4 Stoke - Jon Walters

    Jon Walters

Stoke owe me a match fee. After calling Victor Moses to turn it on, my shout that Jon Walters would also get a goal also pays off. Marko Arnautovic beats the offside trap to chase a rare punt over the top, he squares it and Walters converts from close range.

  15. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

THREE MINUTES added on. Stoke fans, you can start planning for that Ewood Park trip on the weekend of Valentine's Day. Lovely. Why not take someone special?

  16. YELLOW CARD

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Stephen Dawson is named man of the match at Spotland, the Dale midfielder has been his usual busy self throughout. Lawro thinks goalscorer Rhys Bennett has been the stand-out man, and as he says that Bennett is booked.

  17. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Free-kick for Rochdale. This needs to go in if they are to have any chance of forcing a replay.

In it comes, but Steve Sidwell and Glenn Whelan get it away.

  18. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

    Charlie Adam

"There are some heavy legs out there and the game is seriously stretched now."

  19. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Into the last five. Calvin Andrew wins a big header but the move breaks down.

  20. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

From BBC Sport's Gary Rose at Spotland: "That goal has reinvigorated the home fans, with conversations near me having drifted towards Rochdale's next league opponents Coventry before Rhys Bennett struck.

"The Rochdale fans are roaring their side on now and, despite a two-goal cushion, it could still be an uncomfortable final few minutes for Stoke."

  21. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Rochdale left-back Scott Tanser bombs on and goes down - is that a foul? No, says referee Martin Atkinson. It was right in the same spot as the free-kick they scored from. Stoke have finished both halves poorly.

  22. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"Rochdale deserve that goal for their efforts and Rhys Bennett has been their best player. Very good."

  23. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Right then, just over 10 minutes left of the FA Cup weekend. Can Rochdale, fifth in League One, cause another barnstormer?

  24. Post update

    Rochdale 1-3 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

    Rhys Bennett

"They're a little fortunate in the way that the chance came to them but then Rhys Bennett had a little look and placed it past the keeper.

"But I do feel that's too little, too late."

  25. GOAL

Rochdale 1-3 Stoke - Rhys Bennett

    Rhys Bennett

Start the Madness! No, literally. 'One Step Beyond' booms out at Spotland as a free-kick from the left is not dealt with, twice Stoke fail to clear and Rhys Bennett side-foots into the corner from eight yards out.

Stoke start with a mercurial genius up front from Barcelona and they can't defend set-pieces. What is going on eh?

  26. Post update

    Rochdale 0-3 Stoke

Dale have a free-kick 25 yards out, they roll it to Reuben Noble-Lazarus and he lashes in a drive which dips, dips, dips - but not quite enough and it's on to the roof of the net. Great effort.

  27. YELLOW CARD

    Rochdale 0-3 Stoke

    Steve Sidwell

Steve Sidwell is booked for a trip on the effervescent Stephen Dawson as Victor Moses comes off to strong applause. Well done Victor.

Charlie Adam is on. Another man who needs to raise it.

  32. Post update

    Rochdale 0-3 Stoke

A very professional display from Stoke here. For the last 15 minutes of the first half they looked ragged but they have grabbed control of the match since the break. Victor Moses to the fore.

  33. Post update

    Rochdale 0-3 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

    Phil Bardsley

"Phil Bardsley is a proper right-back, he just loves a proper tackle."

  34. Post update

    Rochdale 0-3 Stoke

Victor Moses has had a few clubs but has found his form for Stoke tonight.

Can Dale get the best out of one of their man attackers, journeyman Calvin Andrew? The 28-year-old targetman has scored 16 league goals in 218 league games. He's never scored more than four for a club, and he's had 12 of them...

James: What a goal by Moses. Hope Dale don't concede many more cause they don't deserve it.

  36. Post update

    Rochdale 0-3 Stoke

    Victor Moses

That is Victor Moses' second goal for Stoke and it should see them into the fifth round against Blackburn, where Mark Hughes will come up against one of his old clubs. Maybe they'll break the 6,000 mark for that one.

  37. Post update

    Rochdale 0-3 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"That goal came from a great first-time pass from Stephen Ireland which put Victor Moses in the clear. Nobody else in the ground could see that pass."

  38. GOAL

Rochdale 0-3 Stoke - Victor Moses

    Victor Moses

I've always said about Victor Moses - he's top class.

That is brilliant, running down the left, into the box, beats his man again and then swings a curling strike into the top corner from an acute angle.

Great goal. I take some credit for his turnaround after that earlier pep talk... (see 47 mins)

  39. Post update

    Rochdale 0-2 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"Marko Arnautovic is one of those who just doesn't do it often enough. That's very frustrating. It's worse if you know they can actually do it."

  40. SUBSTITUTION

    Rochdale 0-2 Stoke

And here he is. Reuben Noble-Lazarus is on in place of penalty taker Peter Vincenti. Can he bring Dale back from the dead?Stoke instead threaten as Marko Arnautovic whips in a cracking set-piece and Jon Walters flicks a header wide.

  41. 'More than a little relief'

    Rochdale 0-2 Stoke

From BBC Sport's Gary Rose at Spotland: "Stoke boss Mark Hughes strode the length of his technical area when that second goal went in, his arms outstretched, but there was more than a little look of relief as he turned back towards his dugout.

"Rochdale had certainly given him food for thought with their rally towards the end of the first half, but you would imagine a comeback from two goals down is unlikely."

  42. Post update

    Rochdale 0-2 Stoke

Dale readying more changes as Keith Hill tries to mount a comeback. If they want an omen, they have a player with 'Lazarus' in his name on the bench.

  43. SUBSTITUTION

    Rochdale 0-2 Stoke

Dale make a change and it's a striker on, Calvin Andrew is on in place of Matt Done. Big man, Calvin Andrew. He may give Ryan Shawcross a tester.

  44. Post update

    Rochdale 0-2 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"Victor Moses slowed down the centre-back to go past him and then he put in a cross. It was another quality goal, although not as good as the first one."

  45. GOAL

Rochdale 0-2 Stoke - Stephen Ireland

    Stephen Ireland

Victor Moses just needed that little pep talk as he makes the second goal for Stoke. Moses meanders into the box, then a little change of pace takes him away and he picks out Stephen Ireland arriving on it and he makes no mistake with a steered finish from six yards out.

Can Dale find a Bradford-style recovery?

  46. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Marc Wilson

The crowd are a bit subdued as Stoke maintain an element of control over the ball in midfield. Rochdale had the visitors on the rack in that last 10 minutes of the first half, can they find that level of performance again?

Oooh great hit by Marc Wilson! Fizzing one wide from 25 yards. Very close from the Stoke defender.

  47. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"Rochdale are trying to work an opportunity because there's no point in plonking the ball into the box with Stoke's defence all well over six foot tall."

  48. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Victor Moses

When I used to cover Crystal Palace many moons ago I would have put good money on Victor Moses becoming a truly top-class Premier League player.

I'm pretty glad I didn't now. Not really happening for him is it? Come on Victor, kick on. He loses the ball at the start of this second period and Rochdale are back on the front foot.

Rochdale get us back under way.

  51. SUBSTITUTION

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

  52. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Antonio Cassano

If Stoke are without Bojan for a length of time I've just seen that Antonio Cassano is a free agent after leaving Parma this afternoon. Get him in. He loves an oatcake.

  53. HALF-TIME

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

From BBC Sport's Gary Rose at Spotland: "Rochdale fans applauded their side off at half-time after an impressive spell towards the end of the first half.

"After spending the first 20 minutes sitting down, Stoke boss Mark Hughes was a very animated figure on the touchline for the rest of the half, engaging in some good-natured banter with nearby Rochdale fans after questioning a number of the referee's decisions.

"Rochdale are by no means out of this."

  54. HALF-TIME

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Rochdale had 53% of the possession in that first half and eight attempts on goal to Stoke's three.

The Potters only had one shot on target but it was a 25-yard volley into the corner.

Watch it again on the highlights tab, don't forget.

  55. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"Rochdale are scrapping and that's what they need to do. We've seen a wonder goal from Bojan, but Rochdale are playing some of the better football. They should be level at the very least."

  56. HALF-TIME

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

That's half-time. Stoke started brilliantly with that stunner from Bojan but once he was injured they lost their way. And Rochdale ended the half well on top.

  57. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Lovely play from Dale again but the shot from Matt Done is tame this time. Two minutes of added time to come, and it's Stoke who are hanging on. They've lost their mojo with Bojan.

Andy Barrick: Unlikely strike partners - I saw Eric Cantona's first goal in England, against Luton; he was up front alongside Lee Chapman.

  59. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Matty Done

You can see why Matty Done has bagged 14 goals this season. His movement is excellent as he gets in behind Phil Bardsley, he's in on goal but wide of the goal and his attempted chip goes behind. Dale well on top, Stoke hoping for the half-time whistle.

  60. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"The thing with Mark Hughes going mad on the touchline is that he'll go into the changing rooms at half-time and say to his players 'just keep calm!'"

  61. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Really good spell for Rochdale, they are keeping Stoke honest. Marko Arnautovic is tackled on the right and just gives up on it. His body language is that of an international who doesn't fancy this.

  62. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"What a great ball which puts him through. But he should have scored... his pace got him in between the two central defenders. That's the best chance of the game because Bojan's goal wasn't a chance!"

  63. CLOSE!

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Matt Done

Rochdale waste a free-kick in a dangerous area, easily held by Jack Butland. But what a chance! Great pass by youngster Callum Camps to release Matt Done, he's in between the centre-halves and slides it inches wide of the post...

  64. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"What does Mark Hughes expect? He's away at a League One side. He'll be taking his coat off next."

  65. 'From cheers to jeers for Bojan'

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Bojan

BBC Sport's Gary Rose at Spotland: "Bojan may have been applauded by the home fans after his brilliant opener, but he quickly became the subject of their jeers.

"The sight of the diminutive forward arguing with towering Peter Vincenti after a crunching challenge on Victor Moses resulted in boos being aimed in his direction, and then a tumble in the area prompted chants of 'cheat, cheat, cheat'.

"His subsequent substitution saw one or two Rochdale fans lean near the tunnel entrance to wave goodbye as he walked past them, while others cheered ironically but in truth, they will be relieved to see the back of him."

  66. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Mark Hughes

That's better from Jack Butland as Rochdale threaten again. Stephen Dawson makes a trademark break from midfield, beats one man and Butland has to be sprightly to make a challenge. Dawson clatters into a cameraman.

Seconds later Mark Hughes is angry again, he clatters the ball out of his technical area and then turns and engages with the home fans. It's all getting a bit heated...

  67. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"That was good movement and he gets across his marker, but he just scuffs it."

  68. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Dodgy keeper! Jack Butland doesn't convince, coming for a cross and flapping horribly, spooning it out for a corner. That's' got the home fans excited.

From the corner, it scuffs through to Rhys Bennett and his shot is sliced wide. Chance.

  69. SUBSTITUTION

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

That's the end of Bojan's night, and I can't lie to you, I'm disappointed.

Bojan is replaced by Stephen Ireland.

  70. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Interesting. The Stoke physio makes the 'substitution' hand signal but Bojan waves to say no, he'll be OK. Stephen Ireland is now warming up. We'll see who wins that battle.

  71. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Bojan

Class goal, a booking, and now an injury? Marko Arnautovic sends Bojan in behind the defence and he clatters to the floor. No challenge, he has hurt himself here. He's holding his knee. He looks concerned.

  72. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson on BBC Radio 5 live

"I think it was a good tackle, but the problem is Victor Moses is lying on the ground injured. If the referee had stopped play, rather than doing the right thing and letting play go on, it might have avoided the handbags which followed. It was an earthy tackle for sure, but Stoke aren't angels are they?"

  73. YELLOW CARD

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

Despite referee Martin Atkinson waving that tackle on, he has now booked Peter Vincenti for his part in the following melee. The ref books Bojan too.

I've seen a replay and the tackle was high, Vincenti caught Victor Moses on the ankle.

  74. Post update

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke

    Victor Moses

Peter Vincenti goes in hard on Victor Moses, very hard, but referee Martin Atkinson waves it on. Mark Hughes is livid, off the bench, and when Vincenti gets the ball back he is clattered by Glenn Whelan.

    Rochdale 0-1 Stoke - Bojan

    Bojan

    This boy could go far!

What a goal from Bojan, whose love affair with the Potteries continues. A wonderful strike as he latches on to a clearing header and cracks in a dipping volley from 22 yards out. Brilliant hit.

Peter Vincenti hits a low shot which is deflected away for a corner. Great start from the League One side, that gets the crowd into even more of a fervour. Stoke leave two men up and clear their lines.

Chris Fleming: Good draw for the Gunners. Call me pessimistic but I don't see Middlesbrough doing it again.

Rochdale chairman Chris Dunphy, speaking to BBC Radio 5 live: "Bradford were beyond everything else, they played fantastic. The weekend started with a surprise with Cambridge holding Manchester United and let's hope it ends with a surprise.

"The manager and the players are cool about it. We've had a good season and we're playing good football and tonight puts them on an international stage. They deserve that."

Rochdale have won just one of their 13 FA Cup matches against top flight opposition. Is tonight a chance for number two?

  111. 'Groans in the stands'

    FA Cup draw

BBC Sport's Gary Rose at Spotland: "Several fans peered into a supporters' box behind the press area to watch a television as the draw was made and there were a number of groans when Rochdale were drawn away to Blackburn.

"One fan saw the positive side when I asked for his reaction, however. 'It gives us something to moan about when we beat this lot,' he said.

"You have to admire that optimism."

  112. Fifth-round draw

Duncan, Richmond: Despite all the high profile casualties over the weekend the big three of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal still loom large and you'd expect them all to progress following this draw.

  115. "It's not the Camp Nou"

    Rochdale v Stoke (20:00 GMT)

    Bojan

That's right Bojan, you've got to play on that.

I can't imagine the Catalan forward ever imagined he would one day play at Spotland.

There are no former Barca strikers in the Rochdale side as the emphasis is on youth - or the Lower League Class of '92 as assistant coach Chris Beech calls them. Youngsters Callum Camps, 19, and Scott Tansfer, 20, who started in the 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the previous round, start this game.

  118. Fifth-round draw

Bradford City v Sunderland or Fulham

Bradford City's Andrew Davies on BBC Radio 5 live: "It's a fantastic draw. It's good to have a home game and the fans will be right behind us. It's exciting. I can't see why we can't get another win."

  120. Team News

    Rochdale v Stoke (20:00 GMT)

At Spotland, Rochdale are unchanged from the side which hammered Crawley 4-1, while Stoke make just two changes themselves from the XI which beat Leicester.

Ryan Shawcross - who would be my first name on the sheet away at a lower league club - is back in, and Jack Butland gets a start in goal. Bojan starts, which I find quite wonderful.

Rochdale: Lillis, Rafferty, Eastham, Lancashire, Tanser, Bennett, Dawson, Camps, Henderson, Vincenti, Done

  133. 'Time to believe'

    Rochdale v Stoke (20:00 GMT)

    Spotland

BBC Sport's Gary Rose at Spotland: "Those are the words that will greet the two teams later as they wait to go onto the pitch here at a very cold Spotland.

"I ventured into the supporters' bar earlier, where Rochdale and Stoke fans were both mingling and there is certainly plenty of belief that their team can create something special in the FA Cup.

"From the Rochdale conversations I overheard, they feel Saturday's results shows there is every reason to believe their side can cause an upset tonight.

"For Stoke fans, the exit of some of the Premier League's big hitters gives them a belief that this year's tournament represents a great chance for the Potters to possibly go the whole way.

"It sets things up nicely for a classic cup tie tonight."

Ball number two - Cambridge United or Manchester United.

    Cambridge

It could be a world of difference in financial terms between a trip to Old Trafford or a trip to the Abbey Stadium. Cambridge held Louis van Gaal's side to a goalless draw last Friday but have reached the quarter-finals twice before.

Manchester United have won the cup 11 times.
