    Israel 0-3 Wales

Well, that is that for tonight. Two wins out of two for the Home Nations.

On Sunday we have a bumper edition of international football live text with Scotland v Gibraltar (17:00 BST) and Northern Ireland v Finland (17:00 BST). The Republic of Ireland also play - they are at home to Poland (19:45 BST).

    Join us again on Sunday.

  2. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Former Wales midfielder Owain Tudur Jones on BBC Radio Wales: "The players deserve huge credit tonight but Chris Coleman and his management team deserve as much credit.

"The selection surprised us a bit. We were expecting a four of the back. But instead they played three central defenders and brought Ben Davies in. I think that bamboozled the Israel manger.

"We expected Israel to come out of the trap fast, but Wales controlled the game. When was the last time Wales came away from home and controlled a game? They were fully deserved winners tonight."

  3. Battle for Euro 2016

    Israel 0-3 Wales

In the other Group B game of significance to Wales, it is Belgium 0-0 Cyprus. Cyprus started the day on six points after four games, while Belgium have five after three games. That match kicked off at 19:45 GMT - follow it here. A draw would suit Wales.

  4. Manager reaction

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Israel coach Eli Guttman: "This was not the result I was expecting, they managed to close out our main players who were marked out of the game.

"Even if we had won today we still would not have ensured qualification. The result is disappointing but we will soldier on."

That Gym Guy: For me personally @GarethBale11 has to reach the scoring feat on Cristiano. bale cost more than cr7. Should score more

  6. Manager reaction

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Wales manager Chris Coleman: "If we're going to qualify we can't sneak through. We play Belgium in June and then Israel play Belgium. It won't be about Belgium in June, it'll be about Wales. We'll maintain rhythm, mentality and focus."

  7. Manager reaction

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Wales manager Chris Coleman: "We put Baley (Gareth Bale) and Rambo (Aaron Ramsey) in certain positions where they can do the damage. But the first goal was as a result of goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey's quick thinking - a few seconds later the ball was in the back of the net.

"The reason we are doing well is because everybody is doing something little for someone else."

  8. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Wales manager Chris Coleman on Sky Sports: "It was a hostile atmosphere and it was hot and humid. You have to go to get big results against the big teams. Israel got a 3-0 win over Bosnia-Hercegovina here.

On the tactics: "We have to be brave sometimes. We talked about how were going to go. Sometimes a change in formation doesn't work. The players worked hard in training this week. We were quietly offensive the way we went and Israel weren't expecting that. We were defensive against Belgium and tonight we were attacking. We can adapt."

  9. Manager reaction

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Wales manager Chris Coleman on Sky Sports: "We got a bit sloppy after they had a man sent off. When we were 11 v 11 we were magnificent. We controlled the game and the tempo. Some of our passing was fantastic. I think Israel only had one chance in the first half."

  10. Elsewhere in qualifying

Group A leaders Czech Republic lost their 100% record, needing a last-minute equaliser to draw 1-1 with Latvia. In Group H, Croatia continued their impressive home form with a 5-1 win over Norway, and there was victory in his first game in charge for new Azerbaijan coach Robert Prosinecki, as his side beat Malta 2-0.

In the 1945 GMT kicks-offs, Belgium look to make up lost ground on leaders Wales in Group B as they host Cyprus, with Andorra welcoming Bosnia-Hercegovena. Netherlands host Turkey as in Group A, and Italy travel to Sofia to face Bulgaria in Group H.

  11. Well done Gareth - love, the Manics

    Israel 0-3 Wales

    Manic Street Preachers

Welsh rock band the Manic Street Preachers have used their official Twitter account to send a message of support to Gareth Bale.

It reads: "Dear Mr Bale, whatever they think of you in Madrid, WALES LOVES YOU xxx Brilliant performance from everyone."

  12. Post update

Leicester and Wales midfielder Andy King: The lads have been different class! Deserved 3 points @FAWales Congrats to the skipper on his 50th cap also.

Jonathan Burrows: Hope Wales do qualify as I think they have been recently one of the most improved nations in last few years

  15. Player reaction

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Wales defender James Collins, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a great performance, a great victory. The boys have been on it since the moment we met up, and the gaffer and his staff deserve great credit for that.

"I had a great chance in the first half, I hope you're not going to tell me it's a sitter. We could have had more, but 3-0 is a terrific result.

"Qualification is a real possibility. It's a great time to be involved in Welsh football. In years gone by, I've come to places like this and got a tonking, so it's great to come here and get a convincing win. We're top of the group, but we don't want to get too carried away.

"Gareth Bale's not bad, is he? He's got a chance. No, but seriously, he's unbelievable. The lads have made him feel at home. Me and Ashley Williams were talking near the end, and saying that we don't know how to play against him. So we're glad he's moved abroad!"

    John Hartson

BBC Radio 5 live in Haifa

"Real Madrid have to be very careful about Gareth Bale. He could play for any team in the world and be their star. They way he is being treated by their supporters is wrong. They don't want to force him out of Spain.

"He looked happy tonight. We're a small country. We've had great players, such as Ryan Giggs, Ian Rush, Mark Hughes and Neville Southall, iconic players. Gareth Bale is that and more. He is vitally important to Wales, and he's loved and he's appreciated. When Gareth Bale is in that form, he is unplayable."

  18. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

So, Gareth Bale will no doubt dominate many of the backpages on Sunday in the UK, and maybe a few in Spain. Maybe.

He's been having a rough time of it recently in Real Madrid - on the pitch, in the press and from fans. I guess some have forgotten what he achieved last season.

Bale even had his car attacked by supporters at the club's training ground recently. Is this the boost he needed to kick start the season? The goals against Israel, I mean.

  19. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

    John Hartson

BBC Radio 5 live in Haifa

"I have to say that I think Wales can qualify. They've got Andorra at home, and if they can then perform like this in Bosnia, they have a chance there. The game against Belgium will be difficult. Belgium have ridiculously good players, but I would say yes, Wales can do it. They've proved a lot of doubters wrong tonight with this comfortable 3-0 win."

  21. Player reaction

    Israel 0-3 Wales

    Gareth Bale

Wales forward Gareth Bale, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a top-of-the-table clash, so to come out on top is amazing. We'd like to dedicate this to Dai Williams, the kit man who passed away.

"The first half was very hard, we did a lot of running, but we showed in the second half what a good team we area.

"We've put ourselves in a great position, but there's a lot of work to do yet, and all we can do is keep fighting and keep working hard."

  22. Player reaction

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey, speaking to Sky Sports: "We're where we want to be. We've had a terrific start to the campaign, and we hope we can continue that. We have a tough game against Belgium, but we're really looking forward to playing them in June."

  23. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

We have some Wales player reaction coming up. Fair to say they are quite happy.

  24. Bale gets 'no special treatment'

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Talking about Gareth Bale, do you know that he gets no special treatment while on international duty.

This is what Wales manager Chris Coleman told BBC School Report recently:

"If you start giving one player special treatment, than you lose the other 10," said Coleman.

"We recognise he's a special player but, as they say, no man is an island."

He might get extra potatoes for dinner tonight after those two goals.

  26. Is this your ideal England Under-21 side?

    606 phone-in

    BBC Radio 5 live

    The possible England Under-21 line-up

Should England take their best possible side to this summer's European Under-21 Championships? Or should those players who have broken into the senior squad - such as Harry Kane and Ross Barkley - be rested after a long domestic season? And is the side we've picked above the one you would play?

Jason Mohammad and former England winger Chris Waddle will be discussing this on BBC Radio 5 live's 606 from 19:00 GMT - and they want you to get involved.

  27. Small country, big ambition

    Israel 0-3 Wales

There are only two countries with a smaller population than Wales (3.064m) have ever qualified for the European Championship -Slovenia (2.065m in 2000) and Latvia (1.98m in 2004).

  28. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

    John Hartson

BBC Radio 5 live in Haifa

"Wales' performance was disciplined, it was professional and I'd almost say it was faultless. They won 3-0, but it could have been five or six.

"Chris Coleman won't be silly enough to say to the players that we are there. They have to face Belgium, still have to go to Cyprus and Andorra. Wales are in an even better position than we were in 2004, when we won our first four games under Mark Hughes."

  29. Post update

  36. SUBSTITUTION

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Shaun McDonald comes on for Aaron Ramsey. How serious is the injury that the Arsenal man appeared to suffer?

  37. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

    John Hartson

BBC Radio 5 live in Haifa

"Wales are running amok against an Israel team who are all over the place. Gareth Bale is so sharp. The keeper had no chance. This is as comfortable as you like.

"I can't believe Israel went into this game without a plan for Bale. Unless Israel's manager has a big ego or is incredibly naive, it makes no sense. It's been like a training game for him. It's been that easy."

Gareth Pritchard: Doesn't bother me how Gareth Bale plays for Real Madrid when he's playing like this for Wales. Quality player.

Ben Fides: Superb stuff from Wales. A point would've been a good result today. This is dreamy stuff!

  39. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

    John Hartson

BBC Radio 5 live in Haifa

"Without getting carried away, Wales have been outstanding this evening. Technically, and in terms of formation and discipline, they've been superb. They've made a good Israel team look very, very average. Tal Ben Haim is a big strong unit but he's got no pace, and Wales have taken risks to get at him."

  40. GREAT SAVE!

    Israel 0-3 Wales

At the other end, Israel keeper Ofir Marciano also makes a near-post save after Gareth Bale nutmegs a defender before blasting his effort straight at him.

  41. GREAT SAVE!

    Israel 0-3 Wales

Another scare for Wales. The defence were convinced that Ben Sahar was offside, but he wasn't, allowing the striker to unleash a fierce shot at the near post which keeper Wayne Hennessey did well to pat down.

  43. Post update

Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey is down now. Concerns for Wales and Arsenal fans - he's trying to run off what appears to be a groin problem.

  44. Post update

    Israel 0-3 Wales

It's just not Israel's night. Substitute Nir Biton limps off the pitch to receive treatment. The home side have used all their subs - and a reminder, they are down to 10 men already following the sending off of Eytan Tibi.

  45. GOAL

Israel 0-3 Wales - Gareth Bale

    Gareth Bale celebrates

Best goal of the night? Aaron Ramsey performs a couple of lollipops on the left, dazzling the defenders before poking the ball into the path of Gareth Bale, who powerfully sidefoots his shot past the Israel keeper from 12 yards out.

  46. GREAT SAVE!

    Israel 0-2 Wales

A big scare for Wales. Keeper Wayne Hennessey, who has had little to do, is quick to react to a cross from the right and claw the ball off the head of Tomer Hemed.

  47. Post update

    Israel 0-2 Wales

    John Hartson

BBC Radio 5 live in Haifa

"There's a mouth-watering clash coming up in June in Cardiff against Belgium, who are favourites to win the group. But Wales, if they can hold on here, will think they can win the group. And why not?"

  48. CLOSE!

    Israel 0-2 Wales

A great run from Aaron Ramsey into the Israel area nearly ends with the Arsenal man poking the ball past Ofir Marciano. However, the Israel stopper is alert to the danger and clears. Surely we'll see a third for Wales?

  49. Playing alongside a namesake

    #bbcfootball, text 81111, BBC Sport Facebook, Google+

With Israel naming two players called Tal Ben Haim in their starting line-up today - although one has now been substituted - we're asking for your sporting namesake tales...

Bruce Cooper: I moved to New Zealand aged 25 having never met another Bruce. The football team I joined had four in the first 11.

Kevin Venter: I played in a cricket team which consisted of my father, brother, uncle and cousin. Our bowling figures were all muddled up every time.

Nesbitt: I was playing in a Sunday league match with my twin brother. I accidentally hooked an opponent's leg and the ref sent off my twin.

    Iwan Roberts

    Former Wales striker

"It's great to see Sam Vokes back, isn't it.

"He was injured almost exactly a year ago, and he's worked hard in rehab to get fit again. He looks hungry, he wanted to start, but Chris Coleman is doing the right thing by giving him only twenty minutes."

  52. GREAT SAVE!

    Israel 0-2 Wales

He nearly did a Harry Kane! Wales sub Sam Vokes forces a point-blank save from Ofir Marciano within seconds of coming on. What an introduction that would have been.

  53. SUBSTITUTION

    Israel 0-2 Wales

Israel make another change. Striker Ben Sahar comes on for midfielder Eran Zahavi.

  54. SUBSTITUTION

    Israel 0-2 Wales

Burnley's Sam Vokes comes on for Hal Robson-Kanu. It's Vokes' first appearance in this Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

  55. Post update

    Israel 0-2 Wales

Wales seem to be happy to knock it about at the back with 23 minutes still remaining - two goals up and with a man advantage. This has been a dream campaign so far for Chris Coleman's men.

  56. Post update

    Israel 0-2 Wales

A slight heartstopping moment for Wales. Aaron Ramsey fails to deal adequately with an Israel free kick from the right and keeper Wayne Hennessey is forced to make a save from a tight angle. Bar that, it has gone rather flat inside this stadium in Haifa - the red card and second goal has knocked the stuffing out of Israel.

  57. Post update

    Israel 0-2 Wales

    Gareth Bale

BBC Wales Sport: Gareth Bale has now scored as many goals for Wales as John Charles.

  58. Post update

    Israel 0-2 Wales

A free-kick to Israel from 40 yards is blocked by the alert Ashley Williams in the Wales defence. It looks like the defender is going to celebrate his 50th cap in style tonight.

  59. Post update

    Israel 0-2 Wales

    Iwan Roberts

    Former Wales striker

"Wales know they have got something special going on here.

"That goal puts Gareth Bale tenth in the all-time scorers list, next to perhaps the greatest Welshman of all-time, John Charles.

"And the man he's overtaken on 14 goals? John Hartson, sat five seats away from us!"

Iwan Roberts is summarising for BBC Radio Wales

  60. SUBSTITUTION

    Israel 0-2 Wales

Tal Ben Haim II comes off and is replaced by Nir Biton. Ben Haim II can count himself unlucky to be brought off - the consequence of the earlier red card.

  61. Post update

"'We are top of the league,' is the chant as Gareth Bale's superb free-kick doubles their lead.

"As it stands, Wales are the new leaders of Group B, to the clear and noisy delight of their travelling fans."

  67. Post update

    Israel 0-2 Wales

This is now a very tough ask for Israel - they have gone 4-1-3-1. They are without their top scorer Omer Damari, who went off injured in the first half and now down to 10 men.

  82. Playing alongside a namesake

    #bbcfootball, text 81111, BBC Sport Facebook, Google+

With Israel fielding two players called Tal Ben Haim, we're asking for your tales of sporting namesakes.

Barney: Back in the early 1980s in Liverpool, I was goalie for a team that had seven Franks.

Jordan White: Our school football team had two players called Mark Sneddon. The changing room song was: "There's only two Mark Sneddons!"

Iain Robbo: Didn't Fulham have two Moussa Dembeles?

Well, here's an interesting one. The midfielder who now plays for Tottenham is Mousa Dembele, with one 's', according to the player himself. The forward still at Fulham is Moussa Dembele.

  83. Post update

    Former Wales striker

"It's a long ball, it bounces in the box, then a good header from Bale but a brilliant header from Ramsey.

"A nice lay-off from Bale, but Ramsey has it all to do. A delightful header send the ball over the Israel keeper and it is just what Wales deserve."

Iwan Roberts is summarising for BBC Radio Wales

  84. 100% England

    England striker Harry Kane

If Wales do hold on to victory would this be hailed as a greater win than England's 4-0 triumph over Lithuania?

Victory on Friday meant means Roy Hodgson's side maintained their 100% record in Group E, with Slovakia, in Group C, the only other side with five wins from five.

England's very own "Gareth Bale", aka Harry Kane, made his debut and scored within 79 seconds of coming on. Bale only managed an assist in his first international, although he top trumps Kane on the age front - the Real Madrid man was only 16 when he made his bow.

  85. Post update

    Israel 0-1 Wales

And worth mentioning as well that as it stands in Group B, Wales are six points clear of Belgium.

Now, Belgium, who play Cyprus at 19:45 GMT, have two games in hand but this result would put them under pressure.

Well. What an end to the half. Did the late injury to striker Omer Damari upset Israel's rhythm and balance?

They were static when that long ball was played into their area - allowing Bale - not known for his heading ability - to nod on to Ramsey - relatively small - to head in.

As it stands Wales are top of Group B by two points. That's right two points clear.

The goal has come from absolutely nothing and Ramsey has arrived with a super header for a great end to the first-half - and what a time to score! Chris Coleman will get them in the dressing room, sit them down and tell them 'we've got a great chance now here lads'."

Israel have two Tal Ben Haims in their line-up today, so we're asking for your sporting namesake stories. Keep them coming, please...

Michael in Leicester: I have played in a team with four sets of brothers. Anthony and Kev Higgins, Kevin and Sean Ball, John and Michael Gilbert (me) and - to cap it off - twins Craig and Shaun Brennan in centre midfield. The mighty St Patrick's of Leicester!

Nathan in Banbury: I played for my local village cricket team where six of the played had the surname Jones. The scorers didn't have a clue who was who as we all bowled!

Nathan in Belfast: Our school rugby team had a pair of twins called John and Edward on the wings, which was pretty confusing. Even more confusing know as they go by the name of Jedward...!

There are two Jedwards? That's frightening...

MCB Wright: Currently on a hockey festival in Bath with four out of the team called Jack.

    On today's game:

"Israel have got quite a good side. They don't have really big stars but you know as a group they are doing well and they will have the crowd and a big new stadium and the confidence as well."

    On Gareth Bale:

"A player on his own in terms of quality, there is no one like Gareth Bale. There is no one approaching the quality of Bale - the most complete player for me in the world. I know him obviously from Spurs because I have been watching Spurs for many years since, so really he is the key player. He is a player Israel need to keep their eye on, even to put two players on him or one that will go for him anyway, even if he's going for a little bit of water on the side. Wales manager Chris Coleman names a team which shows two changes from November's goalless draw in Belgium. James Collins replaces injured centre-back James Chester, who has yet to recover fully from a dislocated shoulder.

Tottenham's Ben Davies also slots in at centre-back as Coleman switches to the 5-3-2 formation which he used at the start of the campaign in Andorra. That means Gareth Bale starts up front alongside Hal Robson-Kanu. Ashley Williams wins his 50th cap.

Israel boss Eli Guttman makes just one change from the team which beat Bosnia-Hercegovina 3-0 last time out as Orel Dgani replaces Eyal Meshumar at right-back in a 4-3-3 formation.

Still with Bosnia-Hercegovina, Belgium and Israel in the group it was never going to be easy to grab one of the two automatic qualifier spots.

But after four matches, Wales are unbeaten with two wins and two draws - including a draw in Belgium and one at home to Bosnia-Hercegovina.

Here's the table - makes for good reading Wales fans:

Could this be the campaign? Maybe? Possibly? Wales in a major finals?*

Imagine: Several Y Ddraig Goch flags dancing in the breeze at the Stade de France as Gareth Bale drives down the left before smashing an angled shot past Hugo Lloris as Wales beat the hosts to win Euro 2016...

Cue calls for a national holiday, a football chants album by Katherine Jenkins and Bale's New Year Knighthood.

    Dare to dream Wales fans?

First though, Group B leaders Israel in Haifa - a minor obstacle.

*Yes, Wales did reach the 1958 World Cup finals, but we are certainly not counting the second qualifying stage of the 1976 Euros.
