  1. Post update

    Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has six days to work out a way to wrestle this tie back his team's way.

Time to get the whiteboard out and start showing off those tactical chops that Karl-Heinez Rummenigge so excited earlier this week.

Otherwise the pilsner will fall very flat in his end-of-season stein.

    See you next time.

  2. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

Late, late equaliser for Burton against Carlisle in League Two. Denny Johnstone scores for the league leaders in the eight minute of injury time and it ends 1-1.

  3. Post update

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Thomas Mueller

I just had to check that Thomas Mueller had not been subbed off at half-time.

The 'Space Investigator' has returned some horror show stats.

He made only 26 passes and completed just 69%. Only lone frontman Robert Lewandowski and substitute Holder Badstuber had less touches than the 38 he amassed.

  4. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

    Almen Abdi celebrates

Full-time at the City Ground and it finished Nottingham Forest 1-3 Watford. Watford are now level on points with second placed Norwich but third on goal difference by one goal.

  5. Post update

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Thomas Mueller

Two-nil back at the Allianz Areana and Bayern Munich are through.

    Easier typed than done though.

If the Germans defend like that again, it will be curtains for them.

  6. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

At the top of the Championship Watford have scored a third against Nottingham Forest. Almen Abdi got the goal to make it Watford 3-1 Forest. Just minutes left at the City Ground.

While towards the bottom of the league Ross McCormack has equalised for Fulham against Rotherham, it's now 1-1 at Craven Cottage.

In League Two Burton are still trailing Carlisle 1-0.

  7. FULL-TIME

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Manuel Neuer dejected
  8. Post update

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

Nope, headed high and clear by the Porto defence with Dante sniffing around for the visitors.

  9. Post update

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski wins a late corner for Bayern. Can they do anything from this?

  10. INJURY TIME

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Three minutes of injury time.

Porto are keeping their shape and Bayern have not brought much pressure to bear. The Germans have been limp tonight, badly lacking energy and invention.

  11. Post update

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Porto fans celebrate

This match has turned into choir practice for the Porto faithful. Plenty of rhythmic clapping and cheering in the stands, not a lot from either side on the pitch.

Bayern want to get back to the dressing room, lick their wounds and work out a masterplan for the return leg.

  12. SUBSTITUTION

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Ricardo Quaresma in action

Ricardo Quaresma can be happy with his night's work. Two goals for himself and Bayern looking very much the worse for wear, he departs. Evandro comes on.

  13. Post update

    Paris St Germain 1-3 Barcelona

Lifeline? Probably not, but Gregory van de Wiel has pulled a goal back for PSG

Live text commentary of Paris St Germain v Barcelona is over here.

  14. YELLOW CARD

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

Porto full-back Danilo - who will make a big-money move to Real Madrid in the summer - will miss the second leg.

A mistimed sliding tackle sees his name taken.

  15. Post update

    Paris St Germain 0-3 Barcelona

    Luis Suarez celebrates

Megs! Luis Suarez has just popped the ball between David Luiz's legs and stuck it in the top corner to surely signal 'bonne nuit' to Paris St Germain's hopes of making the last four.

Live text commentary of Barcelona's 3-0 demolition job is over here.

  16. SUBSTITUTION

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

Yacine Brahimi - very good against Basle, solid but unspectacular tonight - is heading for the sidelines. Hernani is on in his place.

  17. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

Goal at the City Ground where Gary Gardner has pulled one back for Nottingham Forest with a free-kick against Watford. Its currently Forest 1-2 Watford with less than 15 minutes remaining.

  18. Post update

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Pep Guardiola reacts

There has been nothing clever about this Bayern performance.

Porto have been clinical in taking their chances, but all their goals have come with an assist from the Germans.

Going forward Bayern's passing has been haywire and their tactics one-dimensional - aiming long towards Robert Lewandowski who has not had much company from midfield.

  19. SUBSTITUTION

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

And Porto make their first change. Oiver Torres off and Ruben Neves is on.

  20. SUBSTITUTION

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

Another change for Bayern Munich. Defender Holder Badstuber is introduced in place of Xabi Alonso. That might free Jermome Boateng to move up into midfield.

  21. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Ross Burns: Neuer showing why he's not as good as everyone thinks. Good stopper, terrible decision maker. #calamity

Usama Zafar: Pep Guardiola to City can be on if Porto can somehow knock Bayern out of Champions League.

  22. YELLOW CARD

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

Sebastian Rode scissors Hector Herrera in half after being done up like a kipper by the Porto man's deft little flick.

Yellow card time for the substitute.

  23. Post update

    Paris St Germain 0-2 Barcelona

    Luis Suarez celebrates

Luis Suarez's snakehips are swaying over in Paris. The former Liverpool man has just given Barcelona a 2-0 lead over Paris St Germain in the French capital.

Read all about it over here.

  24. Post update

    Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Pep Guardiola reaction

That is Jackson Martinez's seventh goal in nine Champions League appearances this season.

  25. GOAL

Porto 3-1 Bayern Munich - Jackson Martinez

    Jackson Martinez scores

This Bayern Munich defence is soft as candy floss in the centre.

Another nothing-much ball forward, but Jerome Boateng gets caught under the arc of the ball, leaping but getting nowhere near making the header.

Jackson Martinez has read it perfectly though. The Porto striker kills the ball with his first touch, ushers it round Manuel Neuer with his second and slides into the unguarded net from a tight angle with his third. Classy.

  26. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

    Ricardo Quaresma attacks

Ricardo Quaresma serves up a lovely, tempting cross to the far post from a good free-kick position, but there are not any Porto shirts attacking that area.

Again Bayern do not look very convincing when Porto sling the ball across from out wide.

  27. SUBSTITUTION

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern have made a change by the way. Mario Gotze has been anonymous and won't be given any longer to make his mark. Sebastian Rode is on in his place.

  28. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Abhishek: Some teams score too early. Porto have done that. Half of this leg and another 90 at Allianz Arena. Bayern to go through

  29. GREAT SAVE!

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Oh my! You have to be a special goalkeeper to get on the shortlist for the Ballon D'Or and that is a special save from Manuel Neuer.

Cat-like reflexes from the Bayern man to thrust a hand up and divert Hector Herrera's stabbed close-range effort over the top after Danilo's cross.

  30. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Manuel Neuer duffs a clearing kick straight to hector Herrera on halfway and the Porto midfielder takes up the invite, hitting a hopeful lob back where the ball came from.

He got underneath it a bit though and Neuer is able to get back and under it.

  31. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

There are lab rats that learn quicker than this Bayern Munich defence.

Another ropey sideways pass from Jerome Boateng, another rotten first touch from Xabi Alonso and Jackson Martinez is almost onto the loose ball...

Sometimes you have to put a size nine through it.

  32. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

In the Championship the second half has just got underway at the City Ground where goals from Odion Ighalo and Matthew Connolly have given Watford a 2-0 lead against Nottingham Forest. Watford are level on points with second placed Norwich, but kept out of the automatic promotion places on goal difference, a few more tonight and that could all change. Elsewhere it's half-time at Craven Cottage where it's Fulham 0-1 Rotherham.

It's also half-time in League Two where Carlisle are winning 1-0 away to league leaders Burton.

  33. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

More direct stuff from Bayern as Mario Gotze lumps towards Robert Lewandowski in the middle. The Poland international is on his own up there and the pass drifts long for a goal-kick.

They won't be getting many points for artistic merits.

  34. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Casemiro is a little unsteady on his feet. The Porto midfielder stumbles to the floor under the slightest touch from Thomas Mueller.

Mueller offers him some friendly advice as they climb back to their feet.

  35. KICK-OFF

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

    Back underway...

  36. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

    Guardiola and his oppsoite number

A lot of matey grabbing and slapping between the two managers before kick-off by the way.

Julen Lopetegui and Pep Guardiola were team-mates at Barcelona from 1994-97 and were also in Spain's 1994 World Cup squad together.

  37. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Sally Anders: Probably the worst thing you can do to Bayern is give them a reason to score a lot of goals. Good luck Porto!

  38. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

    Possession and territory

Porto lagging behind in terms of possession and territory, but the stats don't tell you about two gift-wrapped goals.

  39. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Goonerama: Saw a solar eclipse a few weeks back but now I've seen a shaky 45 minutes from Manuel Neuer, what's happening?

  40. Post update

    Manuel Neuer

This Bayern team is doing their best to overturn all those national stereotypes about cool, organised, piano string-tight defending.

They have looked jittery at the back with the ball at their feet and have not commanding in the air at all.

Manuel Neuer has got a dose of the jitters as bad as anyone.

  41. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

Watford have now gone 2-0 up against Nottingham Forest in the Championship. Matthew Connolly scored the Hornets' second. As it stands Watford are level on points with Norwich who are second, but have an inferior goal difference to the Canaries who have scored one goal more.

  42. HALF-TIME

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

A punchy little half of football that...

  43. INJURY TIME

    One minute more...

  44. CLOSE!

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

    That was a biggie!

Casemiro rises head, shoulder and torso above Rafinha while Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer dithers.

It is a clean header, eight yards out, but the Porto man goes a little too hard, heading over as he thrusts his neck muscles at it.

  45. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Porto now with a decent spot for a free-kick. Out wide, 35 yards out. Get the big lads up...

  46. Post update

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

There are plenty of crosses being pumped into the Porto box tonight.

Thomas Mueller is bombing on to get up alongside Robert Lewandowski, but they have not yet found a way to get to the ball before the imposing Bruno Martins Indi.

  47. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Ejikeme Ike IkeChi: Bayern have given themselves a lifeline, i expected them to progress to the semi's anyway. Its game on.

  48. YELLOW CARD

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Philipp Lahm gets a yellow card

    This is getting niggly.

Philipp Lahm slides in on Casemiro and the Porto man folds to the floor like a sack of spuds.

The contact was minimal, but it did not look clever. Yellow for the Bayern skipper.

  49. YELLOW CARD

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

    Alex Sandro foul

Reckless. Alex Sandro goes lunging in on Thomas Mueller with his studs up and sees yellow. He is out of the next leg.

  50. Post update

Injured Bayern defender David Alaba on Twitter: Yeeeeeees @Thiago6! We can still win tonight @FCBayern!

  51. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Fire up the circus music, raise the big top.

Manuel Neuer gives us a heart-stopping display of his juggling skills, gathering Alex Sandro's shot at a second attempt after initially spilling it against the crossbar.

  52. YELLOW CARD

    Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich

Casemiro has his name taken by the referee.

He is not one of the four Porto men who are walking the yellow-card tightrope though.

Maico, Danilo, Alex Sandro and Oliver Torres will all miss the second leg if they see yellow.

  53. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

Big goal towards the bottom of the Championship as Rotherham take the lead against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Matt Derbyshire's fourth minute goal has moved the visitors above the Cottagers as it stands. Elsewhere it's Nottingham Forest 0-1 Watford and in League Two it's Burton 0-1 Carlisle.

  54. GOAL

Porto 2-1 Bayern Munich - Thiago Alcantara

    Thiago scores
Image caption: Thiago's goal v FC Porto was his first for FC Bayern in 415 days. He last scored against Hannover in February 2014

The Bayern bench explode to their feet in joy. With a big side order of relief.

Jerome Boateng's low skimming cross deflects towards Thiago Alcantara and the former Manchester United target readjusts his feet sharpish to stretch back and guide the ball home first time.

  55. Post update

    Porto 2-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern have got their foot on the ball and bought themselves some breathing space.

Lots of short four-five yard passes without too much attacking edge.

They end up tossing a hopeful cross towards Robert Lewandowski but goalkeeper Fabiano has that covered all day long.

  56. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Dan Reuben: Porto are pressing so high up the pitch, giving Bayern no time on the ball whatsoever and forcing mistakes. Wonderful to watch

Giannina Caraceni: If Porto keep this up through the second half/leg, I'll place a bet on The Queen to be Man City's next manager

  57. Post update

    Porto 2-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern are looking flaky at the back. Mario Gotze has his pocket picked and the Germans are let off a dangerous looking three-on-three by a heavy pass.

  61. YELLOW CARD

    Porto 2-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern's Juan Bernat is shown yellow for a tug on the sleeve of Ricardo Quaresma as the Porto man scoops the ball over his shoulder and sets off in chase.

  62. Post update

    Porto 2-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern have not got a lot of firepower on the bench if they want to go more attacking.

In fact they have got two goalkeepers - Pepe Reina and Ivan Lucic are both riding the pine.

That doesn't look like tactical genius.

  64. Football League update

    Championship and League Two

In the Championship Watford have taken an early lead against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo scoring a fourth minute header.

  68. GOAL

Porto 2-0 Bayern Munich - Ricardo Quaresma

    Ricardo Quaresma celebrates

Bayern Munich's defence have been hustled and harried and they have now coughed up another gift of a goal.

It is Dante this time who is caught in possession, allowing the ball to slip under his foot Gerrard-style.

Ricardo Quaresma is onto it in a flash, darting in on goal and slipping the ball past Manuel Neuer with the outside of his foot.

Peter Collins: Wait... WHAT? Bayern are losing?! That wasn't meant to happen!

  70. Post update

    Porto 1-0 Bayern Munich

Jackson Martinez was a touch-and-go for this one after picking up a minor injury, but he has been everywhere in the opening stages.

    Very lively.

  71. Post update

    Porto 1-0 Bayern Munich

The referee got that call bang right.

It looked like Manuel Neuer had taken the ball cleanly as he hared off his line, but the replays showed that he went through Jackson Martinez to get it.

The Bayern goalkeeper looked pretty genuine in his disagreement though.

  72. GOAL

Porto 1-0 Bayern Munich - Ricardo Quaresma

    Ricardo Quaresma scores penalty

A rather shonky sidefoot to the bottom left from Ricardo Quaresma, but it doesn't matter because Manuel Neuer has flopped in the opposite direction.

Bayern have a little hole to dig themselves out of now.

  73. PENALTY TO PORTO

    Porto 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Manuel Neuer penalty

    What a start for Porto!

Jackson Martinez robs a dawdling Xabi Alonso on the edge of the box and is then floored by a sliding Manuel Neuer.

Penalty and a yellow card. And Bayern can consider themselves lucky.

  74. KICK-OFF

    Porto 0-0 Bayern Munich

We are up and running. The Estadio do Dragao is looking mighty fine.

  75. Post update

Porto v Bayern Munich (19:45 BST)

    Ricardo Quaresma

Porto captain Ricardo Quaresma is no longer the sleek boyband wannabe by the way.

His latest look is a man on a 10-15 stretch in San Quentin - complete with tramlines and knuckle tattoos.

  76. Post update

Porto v Bayern Munich (19:45 BST)

    Right, let's get the cast-lists.

And despite Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger all being out, it is still a tasty team that Bayern have out.

Porto XI: Fabiano, Danilo, Maicon, M. Indi, Alex Sandro Casemiro, Herrera, Torres; Quaresma, Jackson, Brahimi

Bayern Munich XI: Neuer, Alonso, Dante, Thiago, Lewandowski, Rafinha, Boateng, Bernat, Götze, Lahm, Mülle

  77. Tonight in Scotland...

    Celtic v Kilmarnock & Livingston v Rangers

If the Champions League or Championship aren't your thing why not try your luck with the football taking place in Scotland tonight? It is an Old Firm-fest. Celtic are hoping to move closer to another title as they host Kilmarnock, while Rangers travel to Livingston hoping to move into second place in the league below. It's in text commentary form and it is live.

  78. Post update

    Porto celebrate beating Basle

Standing in the way of Bayern Munich tonight are Porto.

They have not bothered the last four of the Champions League since Guardiola's old sparring partner Jose Mourinho was steering the ship in 2004.

But the Portuguese side are unbeaten in the competition this year and did a lovely job on Basle in the last round, rolling over the Swiss 5-1 on aggregate.

  79. Post update

    Bayern Munich

Less than two years ago, they were contesting the Champions League final at Wembley.

But while Borussia Dortmund have slipped backwards under Jurgen Klopp, Bayern Munich have been turbocharged by the appointment of Pep Guardiola.

The Bavarians are 10 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, lead Dortmund after the first leg of their German Cup semi-final and have their sights on a fifth straight Champions League semi-final.

"Pep doesn't just have a plan A, B or C, he has the whole alphabet from top to bottom," said Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Who must be mighty relieved that it has all worked out so well after giving coach Jupp Heynckes the heave-ho just before he won the treble in 2013.

  80. A tale of two finallists

The end of an era over at Borussia Dortmund...
