That's a wrap for this live page tonight. Thanks for your company as ever, congratulations if your team had a good day, and if your side went down I know there are no words of comfort.

  3. GOAL

Man City 3-2 Aston Villa - Fernandinho (89 mins)

    All for love and Alfreton

Newcastle, Liverpool, Burnley, Man City fans - it could be worse. Spare a thought for Alfreton fans who went to Bristol Rovers today, lost 7-0 and went down on goal difference.

  7. GOAL

Man City 2-2 Aston Villa - Carlos Sanchez (85 mins)

Aston Villa do come back! Joe Hart punches out a corner, unconvincingly, and Carlos Sanchez is able to hook the ball back into the net! Villa come from 2-0 down.

    West Brom 0-0 Liverpool

    Robbie Savage

BBC Radio 5 live on 606

"It's the big games that Liverpool just can't get wins in. I think they need two strikers.

"Is Daniel Sturridge going to be play full season? Mario Balotelli came on at half-time last week and started today so what does that say about Rickie Lambert & Fabio Borini? They need two top drawer strikers if they are going to compete."

The Brendan Rodgers debate is showing no sign of a let up either

James W: Am I going be the only one to stand up for Rodgers? People are forgetting how rubbish we were before he took over. He has repeatedly shown that he can make the big calls (changing to three at the back) and there's no better manager in the world for developing youth. Give him time to learn and reinvent this team again.

    Jurgen Klopp

Tom in Manchester: Liverpool fans thinking they'll get Klopp...hilarious!

  13. Post update

  14. GOAL

Man City 2-1 Aston Villa - Tom Cleverley (68 mins)

I didn't see that coming! Villa back in it as Joe Hart comes for a free-kick and doesn't get there, he is marooned in no man's land and Tom Cleverley hits a bobbling effort past him from 20 yards for his first Villa goal.

  16. GOAL

Man City 2-0 Aston Villa - Aleksandar Kolarov (66 mins)

Manchester City extend their lead as left-back Aleksandar Kolarov curls a free-kick over the wall, low and into the net. Got a bit of top-spin off the turf for good measure.

  39. There's a lot of positives - Ramsey

    QPR 0-0 West Ham

QPR manager Chris Ramsey said: "I'm obviously disappointed and we thought we had done enough to get the three points. But there's a lot of positives that come out of the game.

    Chris Ramsey

"We had chances to score, we just didn't have the quality to do so. We still believe. Look at Leicester, they were written off earlier on. The tide can turn and we will look to turn it next week."

On Richard Dunne's disallowed goal after Steven Caulker's foul on Adrian, Ramsey added: "He had to lead with his arm to jump for the ball. But his arm was not any higher or forward than it would be for a normal leap. There was no malice in the way he is jumping for the ball.

"Sometimes the referees have to realise the consequences of their mistakes."

  40. League Two reaction

  45. Post update

    Man City 1-0 Aston Villa

Brad Guzan is 'having one' this afternoon. Goal is a lonely place to be when things aren't going well and the American has another shocking moment, getting his angles and his bearings wrong again and completely missing a cross into the box. Tony Pulis

"We had our share of chances but we will take the point. We had a poor set of results here before this game and that was down to the mentality more than anything - when people say we are safe with this and that.

Norwich boss Alex Neil after his fourth-placed side drew 1-1 at Rotherham:

"I'm disappointed. I thought we were going to hold on. The boys stuck to their task well for most of the game.

"I will speak to [sent off] Lewis Grabban and that will be an internal matter for the club to deal with. We did well with 10 men."

Second-placed Bournemouth are at home to Bolton on Monday evening and a win would all but seal automatic promotion as their goal difference is 16 better than third-placed Middlesbrough.

  50. 'We're frustrated'

    Stoke 1-1 Sunderland

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes: "We're a little bit frustrated. We conceded a poor goal but after that I thought we were excellent, with a lot of chances and good play.

    Charlie Adam

"In the second half they pressed us at the back and we needed to show more desire to get on the ball. We still had any number of chances but you have to put them away and today we didn't have that end product.

"I went with an attacking side today because we wanted to put them under pressure early… which we did after the goal. It takes us a point closer to our 50-point target."

  51. GOAL

Man City 1-0 Aston Villa - Sergio Aguero (3 mins)

Rochdale's 3-2 loss to MK Dons means Chesterfield, beaten 2-0 by champions Bristol City, are guaranteed a play-off spot.

At the bottom, Colchester scored two late goals to beat Fleetwood 3-2 and stay alive. Crawley lost 4-3 to Peterborough and drop into the relegation zone because of Notts County's 2-1 win over Doncaster.

Crewe's 3-1 win over Coventry means they are two points above the drop zone.

    Sunderland

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat: "The first half, Stoke were the better team and we were lucky it was just 1-1. They didn't create a lot but they had the ball and we were running behind it.

"We played a little differently in the second half and it worked well. We had two 100% chances and didn't score but every point for us is very important.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "It's a cruel game sometimes. There was nothing in it in the first half. In the second, we created enough chances to win the game.

    Sean Dyche

"We were written off one minute after getting promoted, but we've got the will and commitment. What pleased me today was the patience in the team to create good quality chances. There's growth in the side, but it has to lead to wins.

"It's a cruel business, and today we saw it at its cruellest. But things can change quickly. We've seen that with Leicester. We've been written off for the 57th time this year, but we can only focus on ourselves."

  63. 'The hard work's not done'

    Burnley 0-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: "We weren't at our best, in the sense that our football wasn't sparkling, but both sides were committed to the game. We took advantage of a disappointing moment for them.

"I think the players have got rewards for the performances they have put in for a long time. We had to battle. I can't honestly say that we deserved to win the game, but once you get ahead, you have to make sure you see the game out.

"You've got to find ways of winning games. The players have got eight months experience in the Premier League. The players have deserved the breaks they've got, through a lot of honesty, hard work and ability. It's always a difficult league to be successful in, and we've got a lot of hard work to do. If people think the hard work's done, they're in for a shock."

Wycombe conceded a late winner to Morecambe and drop to fifth, with Bury, who beat Wimbledon 2-0, fourth.

Stevenage's 1-0 win over Carlisle and Plymouth's 3-2 defeat of doomed Tranmere means they occupy the final play-off positions.

Leicester match-winner Jamie Vardy: "It's definitely my goal. I've seen a replay, and I managed to get it right on the line. We've been playing good football for most of the season and losing, so it's about time we got a win when we weren't at our best.

"We haven't had the rub of the green, but we kept going and we've never felt sorry for ourselves."

  67. Manager reaction

    Newcastle 2-3 Swansea

Newcastle boss John Carver: "When you lose so many games your confidence is going to be hit. Again we showed character, the players stayed with it right to the end. Ayoze Perez had a good chance at 3-1 down and Siem De Jong got the second goal and we kept going but it's not good enough."

I thought the players were outstanding, their courage and play on the ball. Across the team there were some outstanding performances.

"We have a game in hand and we have to chase that and fight for that but if the players play like they did today nine times out of 10 they would win. We will take this confidence into the midweek game.

It's been an eventful day already - and now there's one game still to come...

Patrick from Croydon: I understand points are priceless but the performance I just saw from West Brom is not premier entertainment. Bore off. I'm turning over to the cricket.

Piers: Get real Newcastle fans . You were playing a top 8 team with a centre forward in Oliveira who is unplayable.

Ashwin in Cambridge: You can see the smile on Lovren's face after the miserable season he's had. A fine performance matching the levels of the old Lovren, about the only positive from this game for a Liverpool fan.

Samuel Harper: The Championship must be one of the most exciting/ridiculous leagues in the world!

Sanj: Well done Watford. Now for Barnet to do their thing! Good Luck.

League Two - Tranmere & Cheltenham relegated

Tranmere scored a late goal at Plymouth but it wasn't enough - a 3-2 defeat sends them down to the Conference next season after 94 years in the Football League.

Cheltenham join them - they lose 1-0 to Shrewsbury, who secure promotion to League One in the process.

Southend, down to 10 men, beat Luton 1-0 move into the automatic promotion places.

  78. Post-match reaction

    Burnley 0-1 Leicester

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy: "Our confidence has been high all season. We've just not been getting the results. We've got the win today, and we'll have to take that into Wednesday."

Leicester have won four successive games within a single top-flight season for the first time since 1966! Outrageous form.

Having done all the hard work to get back to 3-3, Middlesbrough allow Ross McCormack to split their defence and complete his hat-trick. Incredible - 4-3 to Fulham.

As Rotherham have equalised at home to 10-man Norwich, Watford will be going up as it stands.

  84. Post update

    Stoke 1-1 Sunderland

Neither side are shaking much of a leg at the Britannia.

Surely Sunderland should gamble a few men forward given results elsewhere today?

    Maybe they don't know...

  94. GOAL

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Hull - Dame N'Doye (90 mins)

    Ahmed Elmohamady

    Hull have deserved that!

Dame N'Doye hammers hard, low and beyond Julian Speroni's despairing hand.

Steve Bruce's men will stay clear of the drop tonight.

  95. GREAT SAVE!

    Stoke 1-1 Sunderland

Costel Pantilmon needed every inch of his gangly frame to get to Charlie Adam's 25-yarder.

That could be as valuable as a late goal when the numbers are crunched at the end of the season.

  96. Post update

    League One latest

MK Dons are now 3-1 up at Rochdale thanks to Daniel Powell, as Preston continue to lead 3-0 at home to Swindon.

Sheffield United have equalised after falling behind to Leyton Orient, while Chesterfield are 2-0 down to champions Bristol City.

At the bottom, Colchester are 2-1 down to Fleetwood and will be relegated as it stands, as will Leyton Orient because Crewe are 3-0 up at Coventry.

  99. Post update

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Hull

It will be cruel indeed if Hull don't hang on for the win. They have kept pushing forward and come close to a game-closing second, but Julian Speroni beats away Dame N'Doye's effort.

  100. GOAL

Newcastle 2-3 Swansea -Siem de Jong (87 mins)

    Siem De Jong

That's what Newcastle have been missing! On his first appearance since August sub Siem de Jong steers in a lovely side-foot volley at the far post to give Newcastle a chance. Cushioned.

  101. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Hull

What an introduction! What an effort!

Liam Rosenoir, fresh off the Hull bench, rattles the crossbar with a thumping half-volley from way downtown.

Still the Tigers are not out the woods. A nervy last few minutes remain.

  102. Post update

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Hull

    John Hartson

Former Wales striker on Final Score

On Yaya Sanogo's disallowed goal: "I think it's a ridiculous decision. Yes, he puts his hand on Paul McShane's shoulder, but I've played with Paul and he's a big strong lad. It's just not a foul."

  103. Post update

    Burnley 0-1 Leicester

Jamie Vardy eats batteries and weetabix for breakfast. I've rarely seen such energy. Like a midlands Dirk Kuyt, he's still full of running in the final stages and has the drive to cut in from the left and test Tom Heaton from range.

Leicester on track for a massive win. They will be out of the bottom three. Sunderland in it. As it stands.

  104. Post update

    Newcastle 1-3 Swansea

Newcastle heading for a seventh straight defeat. They've been poor today, very poor. But they'll still stay up surely?

  105. Post update

    John Hartson

Former Wales striker on Final Score

"Newcastle are already on 35 points. You wonder whether the bottom three will reach 35 points. There are only five or six games to go - if there were more games I would worry about Newcastle. But they will just about be ok."

  107. Post update

    Burnley 0-1 Leicester

You have to feel for Matt Taylor. He's just come off and looks absolutely gutted. His penalty miss will haunt him.

Leicester have two defenders down in pain as they both clear the same ball. Brave defending.

  108. DISALLOWED GOAL

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Hull

    James McArthur

    No-go for Sanogo.

Crystal Palace striker Yaya has leaned a little too heavily on Hull defender Paul McShane as he stretched to get his head to a deep cross.

Palace celebrations cut short, Hull's grasp on three valuable points remains intact.

Derby and Middlesbrough, both in the play-off positions, trailed 3-1 away from home but no longer.

A Chris Martin penalty for the Rams makes it 3-2 against Millwall, while Daniel Ayala scores to make it the same score between Fulham and Boro at Craven Cottage.

Ipswich are still being held 1-1 by Nottingham Forest. Wigan, 1-0 down to Wolves, will be relegated as it stands.

  110. GREAT SAVE!

    Burnley 0-1 Leicester

    Kasper Schmeichel! What. A. Save!

Ben Mee takes the ball down on his chest and fires in a low shot, Robert Huth sticks out a size 11 and the ball is flying into his own net until the keeper bats it away with a big right hand. Instant reactions. Brilliant reactions. Game-winning reactions. Possibly...

  111. Post update

    QPR 0-0 West Ham

    Technique! No.

Enner Valencia with the driving run for West Ham, clear down the right, he cuts it back and it's a great chance for Cheikhou Kouyate - but he slams it well over. Wild!

    Knee over the ball.

  112. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Liverpool

Philippe Coutinho takes the ball down with a velcro first touch and then hits a lovely dipping shot goalwards. Not dipping quite enough though.

Just over and time is ticking away for Liverpool. Eight minutes of normal time on the clock.

  123. DISALLOWED GOAL

    QPR 0-0 West Ham

QPR have the ball in the net - but no dice son! Richard Dunne bulldozes his way over the line but the whistle had already gone for a foul on Adrian by Steven Caulker. Harsh? Keepers get an easy ride but there was clear contact. Was there enough to disrupt the keeper? I'm no t sold.

Burnley 0-1 Leicester - Jamie Vardy (60 mins)

    Extraordinary!

Cast your mind back a few years and you'll recall Leicester missing a penalty in the play-offs at Watford and conceding a goal seconds later. They've had to wait a while but here's payback.

Burnley miss a penalty, Leicester go up the other end and Marc Albrighton crosses from the right. Veteran defender Michael Duff snakes out a foot, he sends the ball towards his own goal despite the best efforts of Tom Heaton and Jamie Vardy stabs in on the line.

    Dame N'Doye
