  1. Post update

What a day. Barcelona started it four points clear at the top of La Liga. Their lead is now down to two points after a fine Sevilla comeback. Real Madrid did the business over Eibar while there was a major surprise in Italy as runaway leaders Juventus lost at bottom club Parma. And PSG win their first major silverware of the season after easing to victory over Bastia in the French League Cup final. Thanks for your company. We're back on Sunday from 19:00 BST with action from Serie A and Ligue 1. Catch you then.

    Bastia 0-4 Paris St-Germain

One down, three to go? PSG's pursuit of a domestic and European quadruple is very much alive. Barcelona are in town in the Champions League in midweek while Laurent Blanc's side are looking to wrap up the Ligue 1 title and French Cup.

  3. GOAL

    Bastia 0-4 Paris St-Germain - Edinson Cavani (90 mins)

Delicious finish as Zlatan Ibrahimovic threads a pass that sends Edinson Cavani clean through. The Uruguay forward does not even have to glance up as he fires low into the corner to complete an emphatic PSG win. Quite an impact by the substitute.

  4. Post update

    Bastia 0-3 Paris St-Germain

    Three minutes added time.

  5. Post update

    Bastia 0-3 Paris St-Germain

No, no, no. Ibrahimovic's effort cannons off Bastia's wall. The free-kick was awarded after the big striker was victim of a cynical challenge by Mathieu Peybernes.

  6. Post update

    Bastia 0-3 Paris St-Germain

PSG have a free-kick on edge of the area in Zlatan territory. The Swede to complete another treble here?

    Bastia 0-3 Paris St-Germain

This might be over as a contest but will Zlatan Ibrahimovic get one more chance to complete his hat-trick?

  8. Post update

    Bastia 0-3 Paris St-Germain

Edinson Cavani's goal came moments after Bastia's Mathieu Peybernes had an effort cleared off the line by Thiago Silva.

  9. GOAL

    Bastia 0-3 Paris St-Germain - Edinson Cavani (80 mins)

Let the celebrations begin! Substitute Edinson Cavani shows his class with a lovely flicked header from Serge Aurier's cross. Nothing Alphonse Areola could do about that one. PSG have their first silverware of the season. Laurent Blanc will be hoping it is not their last.

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

Another glorious save by Alphonse Areola as Brazilian defender Marquinhos attempts a spectacular lob. PSG are a quarter of an hour away from defending their League Cup title.

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

Alphonse Areola, who is on loan from PSG, saves brilliantly from Italian midfielder Marco Verratti after Bastia's defence crumbles.

  12. Post update

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

It's all a little bit tame. Bastia are playing for pride while PSG are happy to run down the clock. Even Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one goal short of a cup final hat-trick, is playing as though his work for the night is done.

  13. Post update

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

If only Roger Milla was still playing for Bastia...the team from Corsica are enjoying their best spell of the game but they cannot find a way through the Parisiens defence. Forward Edinson Cavani is on for the final half an hour, Ezequiel Lavezzi making way.

  14. Post update

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

A big few days coming up for PSG. They face Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek but no sign yet of any changes from Laurent Blanc.

  15. CLOSE!

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

Huge chance for Bastia. Florian Marange is totally unmarked as he ghosts in at the far post and heads Ryad Boudebouz's lofted free kick narrowly wide. Big let off for PSG.

  16. Post update

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

Credit to the travelling fans of Bastia. Several thousand have made the journey from Corsica to the French capital yet they are still in fine voice despite what appears a hopeless cause. There's around 79,000 in the Stade de France mostly made up of PSG fans. They have started the party early.

  17. Post update

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

Little sign of Bastia getting back into this. If anything PSG look like increasing their advantage. Argentine duo Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi have both gone close since the re-start .

  18. French League Cup Final

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

There's a Europa League place up for grabs at the Stade de France. Can the 10 men of Bastia mount the comebacks of all comebacks? We're back under way.

  19. French League Cup Fnal

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

It has been 20 years since Bastia last had an opportunity to win the Coupe de la Ligue. PSG won the cup 2-0 in the Parc des Princes back in 1995 through goals from Alain Roche and the Brazilian Rai, but so much has changed within both teams in the years that have passed.

Although the team from Corsica won the last league match between the two teams 4-2 at the Stade Armand Cesari, PSG are heavy favourites despite injuries to Thiago Motta and David Luiz.

  20. French League Cup Final

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

    Red card for Bastia's Squillaci

Bastia goalkeeper Areola's camouflage shirt failed to put off Ibrahimovic's as the Swede dispatched his penalty confidently after Squillaci saw red for a foul on Lavezzi.

  21. Half-time

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

Half-time at the Stade de France where Zlatan Ibrahimovic is making the headlines.

The Swedish striker has scored a brace, his first coming from the spot after Sebastien Squillaci saw red for a foul on Ezequiel Lavezzi. The second saw Ibrahimovic rifle in a shot from the edge of the area. PSG are dominating possession and there doesn't seem to be a way back into this match for the team from Corsica.

  22. Post update

    Bastia 0-2 Paris St-Germain

    Sevilla 2-2 Barcelona

The big La Liga winners today? That honour goes to Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti's side started the day four points behind Barcelona. Real are now within two points of the top with seven games remaining. Another enthralling title race in Spain looks like going down to the wire.

Jay: "Would it be a good choice to recommend La Masia to someone interested in drama & theatrics?"

Rob has given us his thoughts on La Liga's title race, while Jay may be suggesting that Barcelona's centre of youth production may encourage the art of going down easily.

  34. Post update

    Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona

We're in the final 10 minutes and this game is on a knife edge. It's a bit scrappy after a sublime first half but Sevilla are throwing bodies forward in search of a late equaliser.

    Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona

Poor by Sergio Busquets as the Barca player goes down like he has been shot by a sniper after a challenge with Jose Reyes. The referee waves a yellow card but it's unclear if he has shown it to Reyes or Busquets.

    Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona

Stephane Mbia cannot live with Lionel Messi and the Sevilla defender's only way of stopping the Argentine forward is to stick an arm across his face. Amazingly, the referee decides against showing a yellow card. Neymar's night is over. The scorer of Barca's second goal is replaced by Xavi. Fifteen minutes left.

  39. Post update

  40. Post update

    Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona

Sevilla have their tails up. Barcelona are trying to slow the game down but the hosts are snapping at every challenge. Just over 20 minutes remaining as Luis Suarez fires another chance into the side netting. It's not been a good game for the former Liverpool striker.

  41. GOAL

Bastia 0-1 Paris St-Germain - Zlatan Ibrahimovic pen (21 mins)

    French League Cup Final

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Disaster for Bastia as their captain Sébastien Squillaci is sent off and gives away a penalty for a foul on Ezequiel Lavezzi. Squillaci did not seem to even make an effort to play the ball as he took out the Argentinean who was clear through on goal.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic smashed his penalty in the top left to give PSG the lead.

If Blanc's men are able to win a second consecutive League Cup, they will become only the second team to do so after Marseille did it three times between 2010-12.

Another Barcelona free-kick, another attempt heading for the net but this time Sergio Rico deflects Lionel Messi's effort over the bar.

  59. Post update

    Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona

This game has turned upside down. What's happened to Barcelona's slick passing? Their defence is all over the place as goalscorer Ever Banega eyes an equaliser but his shot is charged down as he pulls the trigger. It's a completely different atmosphere as half-time approaches. The leaders are hanging on to their lead.

  60. GOAL

Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona - Ever Banega (37 mins)

Out of the blue Sevilla are back in this. Claudio Bravo can only push Ever Banega's long range shot on to the post and the ball rebounds into the net. The Barcelona keeper will feel he should have done better. The hosts don't care. They have a lifeline.

  61. Post update

    Sevilla 0-2 Barcelona

A huge chance for Luis Suarez but the former Liverpool striker blazes over the bar from close range. The hosts, completely over-run in midfield, respond through Vicente Iborra but he cannot keep his shot down. Sevilla need to take chances like that if they are to get anything from this.

  62. GOAL

    Sevilla 0-2 Barcelona - Neymar (30 mins)

This is the stuff of champions. Another world-class goal from Neymar, the Brazil forward curling a free-kick over Sevilla's wall and into the net with keeper Sergio Rico rooted to his line. Brilliant. Sevilla are shell-shocked. Barcelona are rampant.

  63. Post update

    Sevilla 0-1 Barcelona

Very little from Sevilla's danger man Carlos Bacca so far. The Colombia striker has just had a run-in with Gerard Pique...and lost.

  64. Post update

    Sevilla 0-1 Barcelona

All the play taking place deep inside the Sevilla half. Neymar, Messi and Suarez are causing the white-shirted home defenders all sorts of problems. Finally some respite for the hosts as they win a free-kick inside the Barca half. It's wasted and here come Luis Enrique's men again.

  65. Post update

    Sevilla 0-1 Barcelona

Sevilla are desperately trying to get a foot hold into this game. The hosts have an excellent home record but nerves have got the better of Unai Emery's team so far. In contrast, Barca are classy, slick and menacing.

  66. Post update

    Sevilla 0-1 Barcelona

That's Messi's 45th competitive goal for Barcelona this season and Barca's 86th in La Liga. The leaders are off to a lightning start. They are passing the ball around like a team that knows a 23rd La Liga title is within touching distance.

  67. GOAL

Sevilla 0-1 Barcelona - Lionel Messi (14 mins)

Magnificent by Lionel Messi. There's too much backing off by Sevilla's defenders but Messi is still outside the penalty are as he produces a precision curler that leaves the home keeper flapping at thin air. Breathtaking stuff.

  68. Post update

    Sevilla 0-0 Barcelona

Free-kick to Barcelona but it is too far out for Lionel Messi to test the keeper. The Argentine whips the ball into the Sevilla area but it is well defended by Carlos Bacca. Messi then has a shot charged down before Neymar tests the keeper from outside the area. The visitors are beginning to stir.

  69. Post update

    Sevilla 0-0 Barcelona

Tight start with no serious chances for either team. There is no love lost between these two sides and Lionel Messi has already found himself on the end of one crunching challenge. This could be a bruiser.

  79. GOAL

Malaga 2-2 Atletico Madrid (Antoine Griezmann)

High drama as Antoine Griezmann lashes home from the edge of the six-yard area after Malaga fail to clear a ball into the area. But television replays show the Atletico man is a yard offside. Malaga's players are incensed. Welington leads the protests but the goal stands.

  80. Post update

    Malaga 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Atletico had won their previous three La Liga games without conceding yet Diego Simeone's side have looked very ordinary against Malaga. Their faint title hopes look over for good unless they can produce something special in the closing stages.

  81. GOAL

    Malaga 2-1 Atletico Madrid (Samu)

Disaster for Atletico as the defending champions fall behind. Nordin Amrabat threads a delightful ball through the visitors defence and Samu is able to lob over keeper Jan Oblak.

Back under way. Atletico currently eight points behind leaders Barcelona.

  91. Mystery over Alves' future

    Sevilla v Barcelona (19:00 BST)

    Barcelona defender Dani Alves (right)

Lots of speculation in the Spanish newspapers about the future of Barcelona's Brazilian defender Dani Alves. Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has come forward to refute claims made by the player's agent, who had announced that the 31-year-old has rejected a final offer.

But Bartomeu came away from the negotiations with a different impression and informed the press that he believes the negotiations to be on-going.

"Yes, Barcelona is still negotiating," he says. "Barcelona is constantly negotiating with players to sign or renew, but we're a bit more discreet. In Alves' case, the story isn't finished. If Alves accepts our offer that we made, he'll continue with Barca."

  92. Stat attack

    Malaga 1-1 Atletico Madrid

All square at half-time but Atletico lead 4-2 on shots. All pretty tight. Diego Simeone's side have work to do if they are to keep their faint title hopes alive.

  96. GOAL

Malaga 1-1 Atletico Madrid (Fernando Torres og)

Fernando Torres scores his second La Liga goal since rejoining Atletico - this time past his own keeper. A corner is whipped into a crowded goalmouth, Torres tries to head it away but can only deflect it past his own keeper. Atletico's defence has finally been breached after three straight clean sheets. A horrible moment for the former Liverpool and Chelsea striker.

  97. Post update

    Malaga 0-1 Atletico Madrid

At last Malaga show some attacking threat. Pin ball inside the Atletico penalty area. Malaga are enjoying their best spell of the match with Arthur Boka proving particularly dangerous.

  98. Post update

    Malaga 0-1 Atletico Madrid

That really was shocking by Carlos Kameni. The Cameroon stopper is all over the place and Atletico's forwards can sense it. Atletico are playing the better football. The visitors have their tails up as midfielder Koke fires high and wide from distance.

  99. GOAL

Malaga 0-1 Atletico Madrid (Antoine Griezmann)

What a howler! Carlos Kameni spills a long throw into the Malaga penalty area and Antoine Griezmann is presented with the easiest of tap-ins - his 17th goal of the season. A gift for Atletico. I'm not sure there will be a bigger goalkeeping clanger this weekend.

  100. Post update

    Malaga 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Malaga have proved pretty efficient this season. Los Boquerones still have hopes of securing a Europa League spot but they have done little to trouble Atletico's stubborn defence so far. The visitors have not conceded in their last four La Liga games.

  101. Post update

    Malaga 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Fouls from both teams litter the opening exchanges. Malaga, in their blue and white striped shirts, win a corner which raises the noise levels among the home fans. Parma 0-0 Juventus

    Italian Serie A

Although we're concentrating on Atletico, we are across the latest in Serie A where leaders Juventus have kicked off against bottom-of-the-table Parma. Juve, who have started without Carlos Tevez, will go 17 points clear at the top if they win.

  104. KICK-OFF

    Malaga 0-0 Atletico Madrid

  105. Post update

Malaga v Atletico Madrid (17:00 GMT)

    Atletico Madrid forward Fernanado Torres

Fernando Torres has not given up on Atletico Madrid successfully defending their La Liga title despite the club starting the weekend nine points behind leaders Barcelona. The 31-year-old former Liverpool and Chelsea striker says boss Diego Simeone is getting the best out of him and his team-mates.

"It's his character as a player and his character as a coach that drives the team," adds Torres. "We don't have the options that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern or Chelsea have - we cannot drop points and make up for them later. We are a team who play at their limit. That's how he was as a player, that's how he was when I first met him, and as coach he is just like he was on the pitch."

  106. Bacca the net

    Sevilla v Barcelona (19:00 BST)

    Sevilla forward Carlos Bacca

No wonder he has been linked with a move with a move to Tottenham. Sevilla's Colombia forward Carlos Bacca is the danger man Barcelona must stop if they want to keep a healthy lead at the top of La Liga. Bacca, 28, represented his county at last summer's World Cup and his goals have helped Sevilla reach the Europa League quarter-finals, a competition they won last season.

    Real Madrid 3-0 Eibar

Real are heading into next week's Champions League quarter-final with neighbours Atletico Madrid in high spirits. Into the closing moments at the Bernabeu.

  111. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Eibar

Not quite the goal-fest they treated their fans to last week but Real have been clinical and taken their chances at the right moments. Barcelona need to respond later.

  112. GOAL

    Real Madrid 3-0 Eibar (Jese)

Game over as Jese marks his return to the side with a goal. The 22-year-old leaves one defender trailing in his wake before powering into the Eibar penalty area and drilling into the far corner of the net. Lovely finish.

  113. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Free-kick to Real just outside the Eibar box. Cristiano Ronaldo fancies repeating his first goal. The Portuguese glances at the net and then runs up and...blasts into Row Z.

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Barcelona's lead at the top of La Liga will be reduced to one point unless Eibar can do something very special in the last 10 minutes. If anything, it looks as though the hosts will increase their lead.

  115. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Bad miss by Javier Hernandez. The goal is gaping for the on-loan Manchester United forward but Mikel Arruabarrena is able to clear off the line when the Mexican should have buried the ball.

  116. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Worried faces on the Real bench as Keylor Navas goes down hurt. There's blood pouring from the keeper's ear after an accidental collision with team-mate Pepe while trying to snuff out an Eibar attack. Real have used all three substitutes but Navas is able to carry on even though he looks groggy.

  117. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Eibar on their way to defeat but the La Liga minnows have been well organised since the interval. They might even have scored but for Keylor Navas's fine save to deny Raul Navas following a rebound.

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Next week's Champions League quarter-final is clearly on Carlo Ancelotti's mind. The Real boss makes two more changes as defenders Pepe and Nacho come on for Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.

    German Bundesliga

Bayern Munich move 13 points clear of Wolfsburg at the top of the Bundesliga after a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Bayern will be two wins away from their 25th league title if second-placed Wolfsburg lose at Hamburg later.

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Real continue to dominate and here comes the first change for the home side. Huge applause for Luka Modric as the midfielder makes way for Brazilian Lucas Silva. Modric's legs being saved for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid?

    German Bundesliga

    Robert Lewandowski

Thomas Muller has made it 3-0 to Bayern Munich against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Germany striker has fired in a right-foot volley from a very tight angle. Earlier, Robert Lewandowski scored his second of the game after 66 minutes. Mario Gotze's shot was blocked by a sliding clearance from Frankfurt's Makoto Hasebe and Lewandowski pounced to head home.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are now losing 3-1 to Borussia Monchengladbach. Havard Nordtveit scored the home-side's third before Ilkay Gundogan pulled one back for the visitors.

  122. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

It's all Real. Great work down the right leads to another fine cross by Alvaro Arbeloa towards Javier Hernandez but the Mexican can't keep his effort on target. That's two chances this half Real should have buried.

  123. CLOSE!

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Great chance for Real Madrid but Luka Modric's shot from inside the box is well saved by the Eibar keeper. That should have been game, set and match.

  125. Stat attack

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Sixteen shots, 69% possession...Real Madrid are well on their way to a third successive league win. Victory will move them to within one point of leaders Barcelona.

    German Bundesliga

    Borussia Dortmund tweet

The second half is underway at the Allianz Arena and leaders Bayern Munich lead 1-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt after a screamer from Robert Lewandowski after 15 minutes before Thomas Muller thought he had doubled Bayern's advantage but his effort was ruled offside.

Borussia Dortmund are trailing 2-0 at third-placed Borussia Monchengladbach.

Swedish defender Oscar Wendt scored in the first minute before Brazil's Raffael Caetano de Araujo doubled the lead after 32 minutes.

  127. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Carlo Ancelotti will be pleased with what he has seen so far. Expect the Real boss to make changes after the interval, with a Champions League quarter-final against neighbours Atletico Madrid next Tuesday.

  128. HALF-TIME

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

  129. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

Half-time is fast approaching. Real are well on their way but Eibar have just forced three corners in a row. None are good enough to hurt the hosts.

  130. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar

The sun is beating down on the Bernabeu and Real's fans are in fine voice. Their team are well on their way to a win that piles the pressure on leaders Barcelona ahead of their tough away match at Sevilla later.

  131. Post update

Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar (Javier Hernandez)

What an impact by Javier Hernandez. This is only the Mexican's second La Liga start since joining Real on loan from Manchester United. It's fair to say he enjoyed that goal judging by his celebrations.

  132. GOAL

Real Madrid 2-0 Eibar (Javier Hernandez)

Former Liverpool man tees-up current Manchester United striker and Real are well on their way to three more points. Alvaro Arbeloa's cross to the front post and Javier Hernandez's flicked header from six-yards flies into the net.

  133. Post update

    Real Madrid 1-0 Eibar

Incredible! That's 90 La Liga goals this season for Real Madrid while Cristiano Ronaldo is a hat-trick away from his half-century in competitive matches for his club.

  134. GOAL

Real Madrid 1-0 Eibar (Cristiano Ronaldo)

Eibar's defence has been creaking and it is finally breached by the goal machine that is Cristiano Ronaldo. It's a delightful 25 yard right-foot free-kick by the Portuguese but it's terrible goalkeeping by Xabi Irureta as the ball bounces in front of the Eibar stopper before crossing the line.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

    Real Madrid 0-0 Eibar

So close for Real and from the most unlikely of sources. Sergio Ramos is denied by the woodwork before Javier Hernandez slots home but the striker's celebrations are cut short by an offside flag.

  136. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Eibar

Real fans are not known for their patience and this could be a long afternoon for the hosts. Carlo Ancelotti's side have dominated the opening stages, spraying the ball about, but the Basque defence is doing a fine job repelling the hosts.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Eibar

The ball is in the back of the Real net. The Bernabeu falls silent. A corner is whipped in and the ball is bundled over the line. But wait...the referee blows his whistle for a push by an Eibar player.

  138. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Eibar

Big early chance for Real. Isco whips in a corner and the balls falls invitingly for Raphael Varane but his right-foot shot flies over. A typical defender's finish. If that had fallen to Cristiano Ronaldo you can be sure it would have landed in the net.

  139. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Eibar

This is a must-win match for Real and they have made a no-nonsense start, Jese and Marcelo made early raids before whipping crosses into the Eibar penalty area. The visitors defence is under intense early pressure.

  140. KICK-OFF

    Real Madrid 0-0 Eibar

    Bernabeu Stadium

It's a wonderful spring afternoon in the Spanish capital. Blue skies above with white clouds dotted around. Both teams are out...and off we go.

  141. Post update

    Bayern Munich 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

    German Bundesliga

We're close to kick-off in Madrid but the action is under way in Germany where Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich lead Eintracht Frankfurt.

Robert Lewandowski is the scorer after 15 minutes and what a special goal. Mario Gotze heads the ball down to the Pole, and with his back to goal he flicks it over the defender and then turns to unleash a powerful right-foot volley into the top corner, leaving the keeper no chance.

  142. Big time Eibar

Real Madrid v Eibar (15:00 BST)

  143. The rise and rise of Eibar

Real Madrid v Eibar (15:00 BST)

La Liga new boys Eibar might be 14th in the La Liga table but their rise to the top tier of Spanish football has been nothing short of remarkable.

BBC Sport's Spanish football writer Andy West wrote this about the team from the Basque County in October: "For the pile of money Barcelona sent to Liverpool to acquire Luis Suarez, Eibar president Alex Aranzabal can run the tiny Basque club's entire operation for nearly five years.

"Eibar must be one of the smallest clubs ever to have competed in any major football nation's top division. If that sounds like an exaggeration, consider that Eibar's annual budget is 18m euros (£14.3m) for the whole club - the first-team budget is 11.8m euros (£9.4m)."

Read more of Andy's feature on Eibar.

  144. 300 and counting

Real Madrid v Eibar (15:00 BST)

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 300th competitive Real Madrid goal in midweek as they beat Rayo Vallecano to stay four points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona. The Portuguese's 300 goals have come in 288 games since joining from Manchester United for £80m in 2009. He is the third player after Raul (323) and Alfredo Di Stefano (307) to reach 300 goals for Real. His rivals needed 741 and 396 matches respectively to reach that mark.

  145. Tough at the top

Real Madrid v Eibar (15:00 BST)

    La Liga table

Could today be a defining day in the La Liga title race? While Real face what appears on paper a relatively straight forward home game against mid-table Eibar, leaders Barcelona have a tough away match at Sevilla, who are chasing a Champions League spot. Will the leaders still have a four point cushion at the summit at the end of the day?

  148. Team news

Real Madrid v Eibar (15:00 BST)

Poor Eibar. It was bad enough for the La Liga debutants having to face a side that scored an incredible nine times in their last outing at the Bernabeu. But they must have breathed a sigh of relief at the news that Cristiano Ronaldo, scorer of five of those goals, would be suspended after a fifth yellow card in midweek. Yet relief turned to despair on Friday when it was announced Ronaldo had been cleared to play after Real won an appeal to have the booking overturned.

Ronaldo starts in a strong line-up despite next Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg away to neighbours Atletico Madrid. Gareth Bale, who has a minor muscle problem, is rested, while Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez makes only his second league start since joining on loan.

  149. Saturday's menu

We start in the Spanish capital where Real Madrid will be looking to cut Barcelona's lead at the top of La Liga, albeit temporarily, to one point when they face Eibor (15:00 BST). Can the minnows from the Basque Country upset Carlo Ancelotti's Galacticos?

We stay in Spain to see if defending champions Atletico Madrid can keep their faint title hopes alive away to Malaga (17:00 BST) while at the same time it's top versus bottom in Serie A as leaders Juventus take on Parma.

Then it's back to Spain for the Europe's game of the weekend as Sevilla, unbeaten at home in La Liga in 14 months, entertain table toppers Barcelona (19:00 BST). Once that is over we will bring you the second half of the French League Cup final (20:00 BST) between favourites Paris St-Germain take on Bastia from the island of Corisca.

Ready for a marathon seven-and-a-half-hours? Let's get going then...

  150. Day of the underdog?

From the Bundesliga to La Liga, Serie A to the French League Cup final, it's a Saturday made in heaven for the European football aficionado. But will it be a day of the underdog as Europe's minnows take on the big boys?
