  1. Post update

That is that from us this evening. Plenty of drama throughout the leagues.

Hull boost their hopes of survival, Liverpool's Champions League dreams are up in smoke, Wigan and Millwall are relegated from the Championship, while Colchester are in trouble in League One.

I'll leave you with this stat - Mario Balotelli had one touch for Liverpool in 20 second-half minutes.

  2. Dortmund through

    German Cup

Incredibly Bayern Munich missed their first four penalties against Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup semi-final.

Dortmund are through to the final.

  3. Stat attack

    FT: Hull 1-0 Liverpool

5 - Since they last won the league title in 1990, Liverpool have had an average final position of fifth in the league.

    They would take that now.

  4. Brendan Rodgers reaction

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers speaks to BBC Sport: "We just lacked that killer instinct in the final third. We are disappointed with the goal. Apart from that we didn't have too many chances against us. It was poor defending from us. We didn't come out together and Dawson is onside.

"We were never enough of a threat. It's been a mark of the season really, in that final third we have struggled."

On leaving three players forward on defensive corners: "It's a tactic to encourage them to bring players back which they did do. It left it numerically fine in the box but you have to be aggressive. We don't come out as a group and that left the central area free, he gets a good header and scores a goal."

On the race for a top-four spot: "I think that's not the reality of it. Our fight is to perform better through to the end of the season. It was always going to be difficult for us. The opportunity was tough this year in terms of where we were at as a team."

  5. Manager reaction

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool

Hull manager Steve Bruce speaking to BBC Sport: "It is a great victory - make no bones about it. But we have still got a bit to do, I don't think 34 points is enough.

"We have given ourselves an outstanding chance but that is all it is. We have earned back to back wins and two clean sheets, we showed some of the resilience we have shown over the last few years since I've been here. So it is a big step in the right direction.

    Hull City manager Steve Bruce

"I always knew we had four matches at home out of our last five, Arsenal and Man Utd at home and also Burnley who are fighting like us.

"It is never easy in the Premier League against anyone but home advantage can give you an advantage. The win stands us in good stead but we have got Arsenal on Monday night so have to be at our best again."

  7. Post update

    FT: Hull 1-0 Liverpool

How will Leicester respond to Hull's win this evening? The Foxes have won four on the bounce and could join Hull four points clear of the drop zone with a win over Chelsea. Easier said than done. There will be live text commentary on BBC Sport as Chelsea look to move within one win of the title.

  8. Boring, boring Chelsea

    Didier Drogba

Boring, boring Chelsea? You are having a laugh.

After drawing 0-0 with Arsenal at the weekend, the Blues have, not for the first time, been accused of being a boring team. Didier Drogba is determined to prove otherwise, posting a video on Instagram to prove the players are far from boring.

  9. Elsewhere in Europe

    German Cup

Seven minutes of extra time in the German Cup semi-final between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. It is 1-1, can anyone get the winner before penalties? Find out on our live text here.

  10. Wigan "will bounce back"

    Wigan chairman David Sharpe

A sombre evening for Millwall and Wigan as Rotherham's 2-1 win over Reading relegates the pair to League One.

Wigan chairman David Sharpe has already responded, saying the club will bounce straight back.

A statement on Wigan's website said: "It's a sad day for everyone associated with Wigan Athletic but we will bounce back, I want that to be the main message to our fans tonight.

"Our only target next season is promotion, nothing else will suffice and the job of rebuilding the club is already well under way under Gary Caldwell and his staff."

John Fryer: Brendan Rodgers your signings have not worked, you let Steven Gerrard leave, your taking LFC backwards, time to go.

  12. Post update

    FT: Hull 1-0 Liverpool

Now that looks better doesn't it Hull fans? Many were tipping the Tigers for the drop a couple of weeks ago but back-to-back wins and they suddenly look almost safe. I said almost. One more win could be enough.

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool

    Former Scotland international Pat Nevin

BBC Radio 5 live at the KC Stadium

"Hull's defence were excellent - but there were a few questions not asked of them. Well done to Dawson, Chester and McShane - the three of them got close in around Raheem Sterling from the start. He started to think it was not his day and lost confidence. He didn't beat anyone and lost it completely. That's good defending and great organisation from the manager."

  14. Post update

    FT: Hull 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool remain in fifth in the Premier League but surely their Champions League hopes are long gone? They now face a scrap with Tottenham and Southampton for a Europa League spot.

Bothered about that competition Reds fans?

  15. Post update

    FT: Hull 1-0 Liverpool

Just look at those possession stats. Liverpool had plenty of the ball but they just couldn't do anything with it. It has to be a striker search for the Reds in the summer.

Philippe Coutinho controls the ball for Liverpool

In amongst Liverpool's mediocrity this evening, Philippe Coutinho has been absolutely outstanding.

The Brazilian's touch and vision has been almost too good for some of his team-mates this evening.

Raheem Sterling on the other hand? Short of confidence would be generous.

Mario Balotelli is off and had just 22 touches in the match, the lowest in Liverpool's starting XI.

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool

Much better from the visitors. Philippe Coutinho dinks a lovely ball towards Jordan Henderson, who controls on his chest, before volleying towards goal. Steve Harper does well to save down low to his left.

This could be a nervy last 28 minutes.

  62. GOAL

Rotherham 2-0 Reading - Lee Frecklington

    Lee Frecklington celebrates for Rotherham

  69. Post update

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool

    Former Scotland international Pat Nevin

BBC Radio 5 live at the KC Stadium

Raheem Sterling goes down for Liverpool

"Just watching Sterling closely tonight. Eden Hazard at the start of last season developed this habit in his game, beat a man and then stopped. Sterling has started to do that a bit. He didn't used to. It's as if you get into habit. It's up to Brendan to say 'stop doing that. Get the ball, go, move. You're good enough.'"

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool

    Rotherham 0-0 Reading (19:45 BST)

  79. Post update

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool

There can be no complaints about that first half score line can there?

    Colchester 1-0 Swindon

A big first half from Colchester United as Jacob Murphy's early goal is enough to give them a 1-0 lead over Swindon in League One.

A win would lift the U's out of the relegation zone with one match remaining. Notts County drop into the drop zone as results stand.

    Rotherham 0-0 Reading (19:45 BST)

Half-time and no goals to report. A tense and fairly niggly opening half.

  97. Post update

    Rotherham 0-0 Reading (19:45 BST)

    Hull 0-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe

Clever by Liverpool. Jordan Henderson's corner from the right is played to the near post, dummied by Jordon Ibe, and Philippe Coutinho meets the ball with a powerful volley. His shot is well parried by Steve Harper and the ball is scrambled clear.

    Rotherham 0-0 Reading (19:45 BST)

No goals to report yet at the New York Stadium. An edgy start to the match as Rotherham hope to pick up the win that will relegate both Wigan and Millwall.

Former Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore on 5 live sports extra: "The gulf is unbelievable between League One and the Championship - and staying up would be a huge achievement for the Millers."

    Hull 0-0 Liverpool

Jordan Henderson is furious as he is penalised for raising his foot on Stephen Quinn. Robbie Brady delivers the ball poorly from 40 yards out but Martin Skrtel panics and heads wide for a corner.

    Chance for the Tigers...

"Coutinho looks the best player in the Liverpool team at the moment. His movement is good and his head is always up. I would suggest he is a better all round player than Sterling but if you add the pace Sterling has got, in the modern game it gets you an extra 50 grand a week."

Not going well then, with Colchester currently one goal to the good.

    Hull 0-0 Liverpool

Brilliant by Philippe Coutinho as he slips the ball behind Hull's defence and into Glen Johnson's path down the left. The defender miscues his cross though into the hands of goalkeeper Steve Harper, with Mario Balotelli waiting.

Liverpool have no title in 25 years. Bournemouth are a Premier League club. These are big turn ups. But what is the biggest turn up in the top flight in the last 25 years?

Gavin Smith: Norwich City fighting to win Premier League in '93?

Rick Ashton: Blackburn Rovers going from 2nd division to Premier League champions in three seasons will never be matched.

Cameron Westwood: Newcastle United finishing 3rd in 1994, the year after promotion from the old First Division. This is something that will NEVER ever be achieved again by any newly promoted club.

    Hull 0-0 Liverpool

An awful touch by Glen Johnson gifts Hull possession in the centre of the park as the hosts come forward again. No damage is done though as Hull's attack breaks down. All very bitty early on.

    Hull 0-0 Liverpool

A frantic opening but Liverpool are trying to take the sting out of things with a phase of patient play. The Tigers aren't giving them much time though as they chase and harry everything early on.

    Why is Balotelli playing tonight?

Russell LFC Fan: It's shop window time, come on Balo, put in a decent performance.

Matty B, Skelton: Rogers is clearly playing Balotelli in the hope that he might have a good game and stand a chance of recouping a few million in the summer.

Jafer, Liverpool fan in Birmingham: I miss Luis Suarez. So, so much.

"A great cross from the left, good pace on it, N'Doye is seven yards out and you could argue he should score there. It was straight at Mignolet. Certainly the best chance of the game so far."

  117. GREAT SAVE!

    Hull 0-0 Liverpool

Hull should be ahead. Sone Aluko shows some trickery to get down the left flank and his cross is perfect for the unmarked Dame N'Doye just eight yards out from goal. The Senegal striker though can only head straight at goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who parries away. Either side of the goalkeeper and that is the opener.

Mario Balotelli enjoys a moan doesn't he? The Liverpool striker has disagreed with pretty much everything that has happened so far and we are only five minutes in.

  120. You're supposed to be at home

    Hull 0-0 Liverpool

Hundreds of fans will be at Anfield this evening - and, no, they haven't got the wrong venue.

While their team are playing 200km away in Hull, some Liverpool supporters will be boycotting the KC Stadium protesting at their own ground.

The Spirit of Shankly supporters union has organised the event as part of an ongoing campaign against the cost of watching top-flight football.

Tickets for the match at the KC Stadium are £50, with a £2 reduction by Liverpool as part of the Premier League's away fans initiative.

Mario Balotelli steps up to a free-kick 25 yards out but his curling effort is deflected wide for a corner. The following delivery comes to nothing.

  122. GOAL

Colchester 1-0 Swindon - Jacob Murphy

A cross from the left flank leaves Wes Foderingham in Swindon's goal stranded and Jacob Murphy is on hand to tap in from close range.

A big goal. Remember a win for Colchester would move them out of the League One relegation zone at the expense of Notts County.

Hull's Tom Huddlestone clashes with Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli

Now Mario Balotelli waves him arms towards Tom Huddlestone after being downed.

"I watched Divock Origi a few times in the Europa League. He looks a deal short of being the full package yet. He definitely has ability, is quick but looks like he needs another year before he is top Premier League standard."

Liverpool own Origi and loaned him immediately back to Lille upon his signing. He is expected to begin his career at Anfield at the end of this season.

The Hull fans seem up for this one.

  131. Pay cut for failure

    Hull v Liverpool (19:45 BST)

If any extra motivation was needed for Hull's players in the next few weeks - this will probably do the trick.

Relegation would mean wage cuts of up to 50% for the squad, according to boss Steve Bruce.

Time to trade those sports cars in lads? The teams are in the tunnel.

  132. Dog's abuse for Tigers

A dog wears Hull City's kit ahead of the Liverpool match

Even the dogs in Hull support their local team...What? You've never seen a canine in a replica kit before? It's all the rage in dog world.

What is the biggest turn up in the top-flight in the last 25 years?

Leo Howard: Mention Eibar and Sassuolo in Spain and Italy respectively for top flight turn ups. Eibar is particularly remarkable, with their scenic stadium half the size of Bournemouth's!

Tommy Mulligan: Southampton this season have been one of the biggest surprises, sold half their team and are stronger when most expected them to be in or near the bottom.

Kevin Fraser: Kenny Dalglish and his Blackburn premier winning team never get the recognition it deserves.

  134. Dame's the man

    Hull v Liverpool (19:45 BST)

If the Tigers do stay up this season, they will have a lot to thank their January transfer from Senegal for.

The 30-year-old striker Dame N'Doye, signed from Lokomotiv Moscow on the final day of the transfer window, has scored five goals in eight matches.

That includes a brace in Saturday's crucial win over Crystal Palace.

  135. Hope for Hull

    Hull v Liverpool (19:45 BST)

    Hull City

Hull gave their survival hopes a timely boost on Saturday with a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.

The win kept them above the drop zone but their run-in doesn't exactly do them many favours.

After tonight's visit of Liverpool, they face Arsenal (home), Tottenham (away) and Manchester United (home) - as well as a home match against Burnley.

They may have to do this the hard way.
