  1. FULL-TIME

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

It was an extremely limp finish by Hull, who barely sneezed, let alone huffed and puffed at the end.

As it stands, the Tigers can still catch Newcastle and Sunderland on the final day - but they will have to beat Manchester United to do it.

Get all the reaction from all the games over at our Premier League live text commentary right here.

  2. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"Harry Kane - he's had a great season but can he do an Alan Shearer, do it year-in, year-out? He's certainly impressed myself, and probably the whole country."

  3. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Hull have a chance to break, but Abel Harnandez is not able to take in Dame N'Doye's through ball.

David Meyler reacts to a Danny Rose tackle angrily. The referee calms it down.

  4. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Harry Kane is replaced by Roberto Soldado. The England striker gets a standing ovation - what with rumours of an impending move, is that his last game as a Spurs player at White Hart Lane?

  5. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Another Hull corner. Another Spurs clearance.

There will be three minutes of injury time by the way.

JavelBleach: So, Hull, 10 mins to go, you can still make headlines & history...

    Got to admire that optimism.

  7. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Robbie Brady clips in a free-kick, but it's cleared. Brady clips in a cross, but it goes out for a goal kick. It's not happening for Hull.

  8. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Either Hull City are bereft of ideas or bereft of urgency. It must be the former because Steve Bruce is getting redder and redder by the second on the touchline.

  9. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"Hull have not played badly at all. Spurs started the second half slowly, but two pieces of brilliance, from Chadli and Mason, have put them ahead."

  10. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Spurs are sitting back, content to see out the last 15 minutes. They're up to sixth at the minute, which is a guaranteed Europa League spot.

Dame N'Doye has a go from distance for Hull, but it's high, wide and ugly.

  11. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"It does not seem to be quite Hull's day, they have created a lot of half-chances but Spurs have defended well at set-pieces. It seems it's just not going to be Hull's day."

  12. CLOSE!

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

That might have been the last chance saloon for Hull.

It's an almighty goal-mouth scramble, which sees Abel Hernandez have three pops at goal - all of them blocked. Dame N'Doye eventually shoots wide. N'Doye then has another go, but puts a header over the bar from the corner.

  13. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Spurs have this in their pocket and are suffocating Hull. It's casual stuff from the hosts but it is now proving effective, bringing it out from the back and trying to pick out a final ball.

  14. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

Some good news for Hull fans. QPR have turned it around against Newcastle and lead 2-1 at Loftus Road. That means the Magpies and Sunderland can still be caught on the final day, as it stands.

  15. Post update

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"You will not see a better pass all season than the one from Ryan Mason. He picks out Danny Rose with an incredible dink that takes out all the Hull defenders."

  16. GOAL

Tottenham 2-0 Hull City (Danny Rose)

    Well, that might be that.

Ryan Mason dinks the ball over the top of the Hull defence and Danny Rose has wandered into a centre forward position to volley it first time and in off the bar.

The finish is a bit of a slice but Spurs fans won't mind.

  17. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Hull City

Danny Rose has been shown a card - it's not red like his hair though. It's yellow for sliding in on Ahmed Elmohamady.

Hull City have a corner - but Hugo Lloris claims.

  18. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Hull City

As things stand, Sunderland will be the only side Hull can catch on the final day of the season.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane has a brief sight of goal but flashes wide and Mousa Dembele is on for Christian Eriksen.

  19. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"It's a really good run from Chadli, there was a great through-ball, then he goes around Harper, and he slides it into the empty net. Spurs take the lead against the run of play - I was just about to say that they had hardly got out of their own half since half-time."

  20. GOAL

Tottenham 1-0 Hull City (Nacer Chadli)

I was about to say Spurs look completely on their sun loungers. Good job I didn't.

Erik Lamela is given time in the Hull half to thread a disguised pass right through the heart of the Tigers' defence, and Nacer Chadli rounds Steve Harper to finish.

  21. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"It's very evenly balanced, it's a case of one goal might settle it. Hull put a lot, physically and mentally, into the first half, but can they keep it up? Spurs were not at their best and I feel they might get better as the game goes on."

  22. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

I'm mentioning Brady a lot here, but justifiably so. The left wing-back whips in a cross that flicks off Nikica Jelavic and then deflects off Danny Rose and around the post. It's another corner, but nothing comes from it.

  23. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Robbie Brady puts in another corner for Hull City. Hugo Lloris comes a long way and just about gloves it clear from above a crowd of players.

  24. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Robert Brady with the corner kick, which Paul McShane meets with a firm thud of the head, but it sails over.

  25. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Dame N'Doye gets a wriggle on into the area but hits traffic. Dangerous moment though - and the Tigers have a corner.

  26. KICK-OFF

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

If Hull ever needed an incentive, here it is. A win today, as things stand, would put you out of the drop zone on goal difference. Do it like you mean it boys.

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Martin Whitehead: Have to blame my late father for being Spurs fan. But days like this are a struggle. Where's the passion?

Jay: Hull have hit the woodwork thrice in their last two matches. Had those gone in, they'd be sitting in 14th place right now!

  28. Friedel's farewell

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Keeper Brad Friedel is speaking to the supporters at half-time. The 43-year-old is retiring to do some punditry in his native USA.

"You've got a great keeper in Hugo Lloris," he tells the White Hart Lane faithful, before receiving a standing ovation.

  29. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Time for some number crunching then. The only goal from the 3pm kick-offs is at QPR, where Newcastle are 1-0 up.

That means the Magpies are safe if Hull fail to win here.

Sunderland are two points above the Tigers, as they are drawing 0-0 with Leicester, who will creep three points clear of the drop if they maintain that score.

Aston Villa are in a spot of bother though. Their 6-1 hammering at Southampton earlier means they can be caught by Hull on the final day.

  30. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"I think Hull and Steve Bruce will be the happier, because Spurs are at home. Hull are desperate for the points, they have committed themselves, stuck to a structure and been unfortunate once or twice. 0-0 is probably about right."

  31. HALF-TIME

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Hmmm. I enjoyed that, in the same way I enjoy eating toffee or walks on the beach. It needs a bit of va va voom though.

  32. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"Hull are defending well and offensively we have seen enough to suggest they can score today, because Elmohamady has got in behind Rose down the right."

  33. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

If you didn't know better, you'd think neither of these sides has anything to play for. They do, don't they? I've not lived in a parallel universe this weekend where Hull are safe and Spurs are in the Champions League?

  34. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

It's all gone a bit quiet to be honest. Spurs are poking away at the Hull back line, but the three centre-backs of the Tigers spread themselves well.

Ryan Mason has got a booking though, for bringing down Dame N'Doye on the halfway line.

  35. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Nick Harris: Wow Spurs are average. Bar Kane and Lloris they're mid-table at best

thescholarwall: Jelavic- a great finisher? Don't think so John - @HullCity down where they are because he isn't

To give a bit of a defence to Nikica Jelavic, he has had his injury problems this season.

  36. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

This might be Spurs' best chance. Ryan Mason does well to wriggle to the by-line and cuts it back. But Erik Lamela is having to stretch and can only poke it past the post.

  37. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"Jelavic has looked very sharp, and as long as Hull keep creating chances for him, eventually he will score one for you because he's a great finisher."

  38. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Eric Dier whips in a ball from the right. It eludes everyone though, which gives Paul McShane a chance to get what looks like a jaw injury checked.

  39. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    Spurs

Without wanting to curse you Hull fans, you look very comfortable at the moment. Spurs can move the ball around, but it lacks thrust and the Tigers are coping. In fact, they've had the better chances.

  40. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Fraser McIntosh: That is one BIG goal for Newcastle. Bad news for Hull. Steve Bruce will be crying a Riviere.

    Very good Fraser.

  41. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

What John is referring to there is that Newcastle have gone 1-0 up at QPR - Emmanuel Riviere scoring his first league goal for the club.

As it stands, the Magpies are four points clear and safe.

  42. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"Hull can't worry about elsewhere, they have made a good start, they do not looked overawed, and they have taken the game to Spurs."

  43. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Harry Kane is caught in two minds here. Christian Eriksen jinks into the area and feeds the England striker, who flashes across goal with an effort that might be a cross to some, or a shot to others.

  44. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Nikica Jelavic is proving a handful. It's his first start since March, remember. He almost gets through but loses the ball under his feet a little.

Spurs go up the other end but Harry Kane can't take on Erik Lamela's pass into the left channel.

  45. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Georgeeee: Did Danny Rose lost a bet? What is going on with that red hair?!

Hugh in France: What's with the Spurs shirt? Where did that stripe come from? And why?

  46. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    Tottenham

A few of you asking about the Spurs kit. It's got a big blue sash going across it. Apparently it is next season's, but they're wearing it today.

Also a few questions about Danny Rose's bright red hair. That one I have no answers for.

  47. Post update

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"The ball was always rising, it was a tight angle but it was more pressure from Hull. It's good and positive for them."

  48. CLOSE!

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Jelavic again! Ahmed Elmohamady this time with the cross, and Jelavic is in pretty much the same position, but catches this one on the half-volley, crashing it off the top of the bar.

  49. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

And now a chance for Hull City. Spurs fail to clear a long ball and Dame N'Doye clips the ball across. Nikica Jelavic has loads of space at the back post, but he has to generate power and in doing so balloons it over.

  50. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    Hull

An intriguing rather than exhilarating opening 15 minutes at a sun-drenched White Hart Lane. Patient stuff from both sides on an absolute carpet of a pitch.

  51. Post update

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"Dier should have done better, he gets up early, makes a good contact and should have done a lot more with that chance."

  52. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

And from that corner comes the best chance of the match.

It's Lamela who swings it in and Eric Dier flashes a near-post header wide.

  53. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Hairy moment for Hull's Robert Brady, who looked like he tweaked something while stretching. But he's back up and playing.

Erik Lamela, meanwhile, has space outside the area - his shot is deflected wide.

  54. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Hull do not look like a side staring down the barrel of relegation. It's all really nice and composed from the visitors, who are just caught offside.

  55. Post update

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"I like the look of Hull's shape, they are being brave and getting their wing-backs forward at every opportunity."

  56. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Ahmed Elmohamady is getting a bit of joy down the right. Shame his crossing doesn't match his marauding.

Harry Kane wins a corner for Spurs at the other end but Federico Fazio loops a header over from the edge of the area.

  57. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Dame N'Doye this time getting a shot away for Hull, but it clips a boot on the way through and is easy for Hugo Lloris.

Both sides are having a good probe at the moment - a promising start.

  58. Post update

    John Hartson

    BBC Radio 5 live

"What Hull don't want to do early is go gung-ho with the quality Spurs have with Lamela, Chadli and Eriksen behind Kane. They have to be cautious but when they do attack Spurs' goal they have to be positive."

  59. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

And now Hull get some joy down the same flank, first with Ahmed Elmohamady, who is wasteful.

David Meyler has space on the edge of the area, before his shot is charged down.

  60. Post update

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

Some pretty passing from Spurs in their own half, with Christian Eriksen at the centre.

Nacer Chadli almost gets Danny Rose in down the left, but it trickles out of play.

  61. KICK-OFF

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

And we're away. Can Hull pull it off?

  62. 'Grave danger of Premier League extinction'

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

    John Motson

BBC Match of the Day commentator

"A year ago to the day, with Premier League football secured for another season, Hull were excitedly preparing for their first-ever appearance in an FA Cup final against Arsenal.

"Fast forward to kick-off on Saturday and the Tigers are in grave danger of Premier League extinction. Their top-flight future is no longer in their own hands and a return to Championship football is a very real and worrying proposition."

  64. Post update

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

The mascots are in the tunnel waiting to come out. Eleven in Spurs kits, one in a Hull kit. The young Tigers fan, next to Michael Dawson, looks a nervous wreck, constantly tapping his chest in anticipation. Poor lad.

  65. Spurs on or off?

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

So what of Tottenham? They want a Europa League spot, don't they? Surely?

Well, their form suggests they're not that interested, having won one of their last six.

Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear that he will be taking no hangers-on next season, saying this week: "Nobody is sure that they are staying at the club."

As it stands, Spurs are two points behind Southampton - who thumped Aston Villa earlier - and a guaranteed Europa League place. Although if Arsenal win the FA Cup, seventh would be good enough for Pochettino's men.

  66. Post update

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

    Hull stat
  67. 'Hull will go down'

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

    Robbie Savage

    BBC Sport analyst

"Things look pretty grim for Hull City right now and one of the few positives for them is that they cannot go down this weekend."

As far as positives go, it's not the greatest.

But that's the assessment of former Leicester City midfielder Robbie Savage, writing in his BBC Sport column this week. Read it here.

  68. No Friedel farewell

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

    Brad Friedel

You may notice a name missing from the Tottenham squad. Brad Friedel, retiring at the age of 43, will not be given a send off at White Hart Lane.

No room for sentiment from Mr Pochettino.

  69. Team news

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

There is one forced change for Tottenham, with suspended defender Vlad Chiriches making way for Danny Rose.

Hull, meanwhile, are without midfielder Jake Livermore, after he was suspended following a positive test for cocaine - so David Meyler comes in. And Nikica Jelavic makes his first start up front since March.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Dier, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose, Bentaleb, Mason, Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela, Kane

Subs: Vorm, Yedlin, Dembele, Paulinho, Stambouli, Townsend, Soldado

Hull XI: Harper, Chester, Dawson, McShane, Elmohamady, Meyler, Huddlestone, Quinn, Brady, Jelavic, N'Doye

Subs: McGregor, Rosenior, Bruce, Hernandez, Sagbo, Aluko, Robertson

  70. As it stands

Tottenham v Hull City (15:00 BST)

    Premier League

Here are the all important numbers. Hull are two points from safety, but cannot be mathematically relegated today, because both Sunderland AND Leicester cannot reach 38 points this afternoon.

  71. No regrets today Tigers

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull City

    Hull City fan

Without wanting to be over dramatic, if you're a Hull City supporter, today is the first day of the rest of your life.

This is the long and short of it. Hull cannot go down today, but it could be as good as over for Steve Bruce's side if they fail to win at Tottenham.

With Sunderland hosting Leicester City - two and three points above the Tigers respectively - one or both of those two sides are guaranteed to pick up at least a point.

So, a win is a must. Otherwise Hull will be needing a last-day win over Manchester United - and a minor miracle - to survive.
