  1. Post update

That is that from me for this evening. It appears Raheem Sterling will be the big subject of debate now...

    Cheerio.

  2. Manager reaction

    FT: West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

    Jose Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "I cannot say it's a big surprise for me. I know the nature of the game, I know what normally happens when a team is champions with games in hand.

"It's difficult to keep the motivation high. We have lots of injuries, the intensity is not so high, and when you lose that salt and pepper of competition, it's difficult to compete. I don't think 3-0 reflects the result, but maybe we started the game already losing.

"But I cannot blame the players without blaming myself because it was my mentality also. If we have to blame somebody we have to blame Man City, Manchester United, Arsenal, because they let us win so easily.

"I think one of the top referees would have resolved the situation with words, but Michael chose to give a red card, which I disagree with completely."

Remi Akinyombo: Rodgers was being praised for the mid season break he gave Raheem earlier, will he be criticised now?

Sho: Don't want Sterling at Arsenal. I'd take Walcott over him any day. A better finisher with less ego.

Brent Marrow: If Sterling leaves I hope he goes abroad - I would not wish him upon the fans of any EPL team.

  4. Vote results

    FT: West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

    vote

So, according to you guys, Manchester United are the team most likely to challenge Chelsea next season - getting 29.9 per cent of the vote.

  5. Manager reaction

    FT: West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to the BBC: "I can't take it from the context, and the context is we are champions, and the players lose concentration, they lose intensity, they lose motivation.

"But I also lost what you need to work at a high level in football matches. Am I guilty? Yes, but I think the top contenders for the title are also guilty, because they didn't give us a big fight. You can't expect us to get on the bus crying because we lost 3-0, we are champions.

"What Fabregas did didn't hurt anyone, he shouldn't do it but I don't think that the red card was fair. It was a good experience for Ruben [Loftus-Cheek], because he played more than an hour."

John Dykes: Sterling did well out of defences being preoccupied with Suarez last year, not been amazing this season... I'll give you £8m.

Steve Howes: Don't want Sterling anywhere near CFC. Lightweight and predictable.

  7. Post update

    FT: West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

Unsurprisingly, Raheem Sterling is already trending on Twitter after it was revealed he will ask to leave Liverpool.

  8. Stat attack

    FT: West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

A strange quirk - the four managers to defeat Mourinho this season all have names starting with P: Pardew, Pochettino, Parkinson & Pulis.

  9. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Matt Harding: If Sterling goes, surely Rodgers position is under threat. Suarez, Gerrard & Sterling gone under his watch? Ouch.

nickoluoch: Ungrateful Sterling, think he is better than he his, wont start at @Arsenal @MCFC or @ChelseaFC.

The Earl of Jeffs: All this is great for QPR (Raheem's original club), they get a percentage of the selling fee. Sell him well, Rodgers!

  10. Manager reaction

    FT: West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

West Brom boss Tony Pulis on BBC: "We still have one more game to go but we are delighted we finished 13th. To win at Manchester United, to beat Chelsea, to draw Liverpool. Those last five games, you were thinking where are the points coming from us.

"Chelsea helped us with Cesc Fabregas getting sent off. But they are the best team in the league by a country mile.

"I haven't seen the red card. Until I see it, I will let you know. I don't think Jose has seen it either."

  11. Player reaction

    West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

West Brom midfielder Darren Fletcher on Sky Sports: "It was a great performance. Even before the red card we were frustrating Chelsea. Saido scored a fantastic goal.

"I came here to play football. I am enjoying my football, the manager is fantastic and I am really enjoying being at the club.

"We expected Chelsea to play the young players but they put their full strength team out. Them losing their cool plays into our hands and helps us.

"When there is a group of players and the balls hits someone on the back of the head, it is out or order. I wasn't happy about it and I made my feelings known more than I should perhaps."

  12. Manager reaction

    West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

West Brom boss Tony Pulis on Sky Sports: "Our last five games looked so difficult and we were so on edge after defeats to QPR and Leicester but the lads have dug in and been wonderful.

"We made it difficult for Chelsea and looked dangerous when we broke. Jose Mourinho asked me where I was going on holiday at the end.

"I have managed against him twice and managed to beat him twice,. He has been very gracious in defeat. They have been worthy champions though, a fantastic football club and for people to criticise them is unbelievable. They have been the best team by a country mile this season."

    Sterling wants to leave Liverpool

Raheem Sterling walks ahead of a recent match

Raheem Sterling is expected to tell Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave Anfield this summer.

The England forward has already turned down a new £100,000-a-week contract, and denied being a "money-grabber" in a BBC Sport interview last month.

Sterling is due to meet Rodgers and Reds chief executive Ian Ayre on Friday, when he is set to tell them he wants to be sold.

The club are determined to keep the 21-year-old, whose contract ends in 2017.

Darren Fletcher leads the lap of honour

West Brom are now having their lap of honour and, boy, are they enjoying it.

  17. FULL-TIME

    West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

    Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho strolls over to the Chelsea fans, who have been singing throughout.

He raises one finger as he salutes the Blues fans, puts his fist to his heart, before beckoning his players towards the away end.

Typical Mourinho as he encourages the supporters to give his players the ovation their season's efforts deserves.

He leaves with a thumbs up to the Baggies fans and they respond with a round of applause. Moving stuff.

  18. Post update

    West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

    Kevin Kilbane

    BBC Radio 5 live

"The tempo at the start of the game suited West Brom. Chelsea were moving the ball slowly and West Brom could stay organised and ensure they had men behind the ball.

"Mourinho will be disappointed with the tempo of his team and the goals they conceded were just a little bit easy."

  19. Post update

Here comes 18-year-old forward Izzy Brown for his first-team Chelsea debut.

Brown signed from West Brom in 2013, after becoming the second youngest Premier League player, when he appeared for the Baggies aged just 16. He is jeered by the home fans.

Chelsea's 19-year-old midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek can be pretty pleased with his efforts. He had 86 touches, the third most of any Chelsea player, with a passing accuracy of 92 per cent.

Saido Berahino almost makes things worse for Chelsea as he blazes over from 20 yards.

  33. SUBSTITUTION

Midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is replaced by fellow youngster Nathan Ake.

From the corner, Nemanja Matic looks certain to score as the ball is flicked on to him in front of goal but his volley is brilliantly kept out by Boaz Myhill from point-blank range.

    It just isn't Chelsea's day.

  34. Post update

    West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

It will take some effort for Chelsea to recover from this.

The Blues have lost all of the 31 Premier League games in which they've trailed by three or more goals.

Jose Mourinho's only Premier defeat by three goals was against Middlesbrough in Feb 2006.

Chelsea are still pressing but without much threat. They do have a corner though...

  35. Post update

    West Brom 3-0 Chelsea

No one can claim Chelsea haven't been bothered this evening.

    John Terry concedes a penalty

I was the first to defend Cesc Fabregas after his red card in the first half but how didn't John Terry see red for that? The Chelsea skipper took Berahino out when he had just Thibaut Courtois to beat. To receive no card at all was just baffling.

  59. GOAL

    Saido Berahino scores a penalty

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois howls in anguish as he gets a big hand on Saido Berahino's low penalty down to his right, but he can only parry it into the net. A huge task for Chelsea now.

As the players were scuffling inside the penalty area after Diego Costa and Gareth McAuley's clash, Cesc Fabregas opts to kick the ball into the crowd of players from about 20 yards away and onto Chris Brunt's head.

Whether he meant it or not, he is off.

  89. RED CARD FOR CHELSEA

West Brom 1-0 Chelsea - Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas is shown a red card

Patient stuff from Chelsea on the edge of the penalty area. Fabregas, Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek passing the ball around until...

Handbags in the penalty area as play is abruptly halted by the shrill blow of the whistle. Diego Costa is booked for clashing with Gareth McAuley.

It is all kicking off as Cesc Fabregas sees red.

    Eden Hazard reacts

Chelsea break with lightning pace. Cesc Fabregas plays Diego Costa down the left, he pulls the ball back from the bye-line and Eden Hazard's close-range effort is deflected over the bar.

  92. Post update

    West Brom 1-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are enjoying the better of the match now. They have had two thirds of the possession, more than twice as many passes, but are behind in the only column that matters. Goals for.

Some showboating from Craig Dawson for West Brom as he nutmegs Nemanja Matic then Filipe Luis, before having a shot blocked for a corner. The corner is cleared.

Chelsea's Diego Costa is lying down on the ground in the penalty area not looking particularly happy with life. 105. GOAL

West Brom 1-0 Chelsea - Saido Berahino

    Saido Berahino celebrates

Stunning. Chris Brunt feeds the ball in to Joleon Lescott on the left, he passes sideways to Saido Berahino, who swivels before curling home his 19th goal of the season into the top corner from 20 yards. A brilliant strike.

  106. CLOSE!

West Brom v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

West Brom boss Tony Pulis: "The players have worked so, so hard trying to form a stronger bond on and off the pitch. Fortunately it has worked out well for us and West Brom will have Premier League football next season, which is so important to us."

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: "Diego Costa wants to play and I want players who take some responsibility. For me I would keep him working without playing until the end of the season. He almost begged me to play him."

A moody-looking Jose Mourinho is hanging around in the tunnel, leaning against the wall. Not exactly sure why. He looks as though he has lost something.

  117. Stat attack

West Brom v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Chelsea players walk out

Here are a few stats on tonight's match.

Tony Pulis has won only one of his 12 Premier League matches as a manager against Chelsea (D2, L9), when his Crystal Palace team won 1-0 at Selhurst Park in March 2014.

Chelsea need one more goal to set a new club Premier League record for most away goals in a season. Their current tally of 37 equals 2004-05.

West Brom have conceded a league-high 20 goals from set pieces this season (including penalties). However, only Arsenal (21) have scored more set-piece goals than the Baggies (20).

A former Chelsea manager is also celebrating winning a title this season - although it seems he isn't universally popular.

Zenit St Petersburg coach Andre Villas-Boas employs a "nauseating" style of play that is "anti-football", claims one of the club's former players.

The ex-Chelsea and Tottenham boss, 37, has led Zenit to the Russian Premier League in his first full season there.

Yet Boris Chukhlov, who won the Soviet title with Zenit in 1984, also claims Villas-Boas is not good enough to manage a top European club. Chelsea fans might not disagree.

A glance at West Brom boss Tony Pulis's record and you can see Mourinho's thinking.

The former Crystal Palace and Stoke City manager took over at the Baggies in January with the Midlands club just a point above the relegation zone but they have now secured another season in the Premier League.

He arrival was probably too late for any repeat of last season's manager of the season award but remarkable stuff all the same.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is certainly an admirer of Jose Mourinho - having appointed him twice at Stamford Bridge.

But if Mourinho himself was in the Russian businessman's shoes, he is in no doubt about who he would look to to lead his club..... Tony Pulis.

"It's simple. If I own an English club, which I don't and which I'd never do, I'd sign Tony Pulis. It's as simple as that," Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference.

Now, with the Premier League title secured, Mourinho is handing the next generation the precious game time they need to develop.

Elegant midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek played an hour of the 1-1 draw with Liverpool last weekend and didn't misplace a single pass. He starts again. Boring Chelsea? The best of a bad bunch?

Call Chelsea what you like under Jose Mourinho, but the Portuguese keeps on showing he knows what it takes to win.

He is still well behind Sir Alex Ferguson's record of 13 Premier League titles, but you can imagine there is little space in his trophy cabinet.

The Chelsea boss has won the league in four different countries, lifted the European Cup with two clubs, won a Uefa Cup, an FA Cup and three League Cups, as well as securing an array of domestic cups in Portugal, Italy and Spain. Not bad eh?
