    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

If you still need a football fix, China v Cameroon is just starting in the Women's World Cup. Watch it here (if you are in the UK).

And in case my words weren't enough for you tonight, you can check out highlights of Argentina 1-0 Jamaica on the BBC website tomorrow (well later on today technically).

I'm off home for a bottle of Belgian beer and an episode of Family Guy before bed. Thanks for joining me today.

  2. Story of the game

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

It was like a training match at times. Near total dominance.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

But it comes to nothing and Argentina win Group B - meaning they will probably avoid Brazil in the next round.

  4. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

If Jamaica scored now, the winner of this group (either Argentina or Paraguay) would have to be drawn by lots. They have a corner...

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Pablo Zabaleta is booked for a bad challenge on Jobi McAnuff from behind. Not long left now.

  6. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Fantastic bit of play by former Oxford City, Slough Town and Bromley winger Garath McCleary to get past Marcos Rojo and Erik Lamela into the box but then his pass to Simon Dawkins is too hard it's out for a goal-kick.

  7. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Javier Mascherano to Pablo Zabaleta but his cross is put wide by Carlos Tevez.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Tottenham legend Erik Lamela comes on for Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria. The Argentina midfielder has been one of the best players today, maybe the best.

  9. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Simon Dawkins - of Derby - finds Rams old-boy Giles Barnes, but his shot is wide. They're having a bit of a go now to be fair.

  10. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Corner to Jamaica, won by Jobi McAnuff. Sadly for them it's headed clear. They still haven't scored in this tournament. Heading for a clean sweep of 1-0 defeats.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Nothing says Copa America quite like Giles Barnes. The former England Under-19 international, who is now at Houston Dynamo, replaces Deshorn Brown for Jamaica.

  12. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

I said earlier it definitely wouldn't finish 1-0. I feel like I may have lied to you.

  13. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria has a few options in the box to choose from but instead pops a shot over the crossbar himself.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Double change for Jamaica, Jermaine Taylor on for Michael Hector and Derby's Simon Dawkins comes into the mix for Lance Laing.

And now Gerardo Martino makes a switch for Argentina. Carlos Tevez is on for Gonzalo Higuain, who has scored the only goal but missed a host of chances.

  15. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Another Argentina attack, another non-goal. Gonzalo Higuain fails to turn a cross home from a few yards out.

  16. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Jamaica's Deshorn Brown has a shot from outside the box but it's straight at Sergio Romero. Still it's a shot on target so let's be grateful for that.

The Reggae Boyz haven't been quite as bad in this half. They've had 24% of the possession now.

  17. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Lance Laing takes one of the most ridiculous free-kicks of the tournament. It's about 30 yards out but he just fires it over - it looked like he was trying to get it out of play it was so bad.

Sort of reminded me of a time a team-mate in the BBC Birmingham Super League (yes it was called that) kicked the only ball over the fence with five minutes to go and refused to get it so the clock ticked out and we won.

Except Jamaica aren't winning. And that isn't the only ball. And this isn't as important as the BBC Birmingham Super League was.

  18. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

What has Gonzalo Higuain done there? Angel Di Maria picks out the Napoli striker, who seems to get caught in two minds and instead of shooting, he just pokes it out of play. I think it was an attempted pass to Roberto Pereyra. Whatever it was, it was awful.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

How is this still 1-0? This is ridiculous. Javier Pastore is the latest Argentine to have a go and he fires just wide of the far post. And that's his last action. Roberto Pereyra replaces him.

  20. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

    Lionel Messi

Is this the moment Lionel Messi scores on his 100th cap? Very nearly. Jamaica's defence scramble the ball away from Gonzalo Higuain, but it lands to Messi. The Barcelona forward spots Dwayne Miller off his line and tries to lift it over him but the keeper just gets his hands to it and holds it at the second attempt.

  21. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Lionel Messi steps up to take the free-kick which he won but he curls it straight at keeper Dwayne Miller. Not one of his better efforts.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Angel Di Maria gets the ball around the corner of the box, cuts inside and curls the ball off the crossbar. Keeper Dwayne Miller seemed to let the ball go - I don't think he realised how close it was.

Seconds later, Michael Hector is booked for fouling Lionel Messi.

  23. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Jamaica totally dominating now... No, of course not - It's all Argentina again. This time Angel Di Maria plays in an inviting cross but nobody can turn it home.

  24. KICK-OFF

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

    Here we go again.

  25. Join the debate on the BBC MOTD Facebook page

Darin Mazzie: Put it into perspective though - Batistuta scored 56 in 78 games. Don't get me wrong, I think Messi is 10 times better, but those statistics don't always mean a lot. Look at them raving about Rooney on a level par with Linke.

Darin then messaged again: Sorry - me phone rang - Rooney on a par with Lineker - Lineker scored 48 in 80 caps. Jimmy Greaves scored 44 in 57 which is even better.

I love that Dazza still managed to get the first comment posted before answering the phone.

  26. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

    Gabriel Batistuta

In his 100 caps, Messi has scored 46 goals and needs just 10 more to break the Argentine record held by legend goal-getter Gabriel Batistuta.

I've never met anybody who disliked Batistuta - the kind of player you dream of playing for your club.

  27. Story of the first half

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

It's like an FA Cup third-round tie.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

One of the most dominant 1-0 first halves I can remember.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

    One to go.

  30. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

I'll bring you the match stats at half-time but this has been ridiculously one-sided.

  31. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Angel Di Maria, who has been my player of the first half, has a go from the edge of the box but it's touched over by Dwayne Miller. Stung his palms to use one of those ridiculous football cliches.

By the way you don't get an award for being 'my player of the first half' in case Angel is expecting a trophy. He can put it on his CV if he wants though.

  32. Join the debate on the BBC Sport Facebook page

Andrew O'Brien: Highlight of the tournament for me was watching Gary Medel's performance against Bolivia. A 98% pass success rate and a gloriously finished goal, that Messi would have been proud of, to cap it off. He learnt all that at Cardiff City you know. OK, maybe not just there.

  33. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

You don't often see this in elite football. Jamaica send nearly everyone forward for a corner or so it seems. Argentina break and Angel Di Maria is allowed to run about 50 yards almost unopposed. He clips the ball past keeper Dwayne Miller but it's cleared off the line by Kemar Lawrence.

  34. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Jamaica defender Michael Hector passes the ball right to Angel Di Maria - as if Argentina needed any more of a hand - but he gets away with it as Gonzalo Higuain's shot is deflected wide.

  35. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Lionel Messi almost scores on his 100th cap. Like five minutes ago the Barcelona legend gets the ball on the right of the box but this time he tricks Kemar Lawrence to get the ball onto his left foot and curls his effort just wide.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Je-Vaughn Watson goes in stupidly late on Javier Pastore and is rightly booked. The FC Dallas player will have to be careful now for the rest of the game. Luckily he's only up against Lionel Messi, Pastore, Angel Di Maria..

  37. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Ezequiel Garay concedes a cheap corner after kicking the ball to/at keeper Sergio Romero too powerfully. Garath McCleary's corner is headed over by Wes Morgan.

That's the first chance of the game for Winny Schafer's side.

  38. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Lionel Messi gets the ball towards the right-hand side of the penalty area after being picked out by the lively Angel Di Maria. You'd expect him to jink and score here but Kemar Lawrence does a great job to stand tall and get the ball out of play.

  39. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

    Lionel Messi

This is kind of like a match between a top Premier League side and a Championship opponents I would suggest. You feel Argentina could score more if they wanted. And they will.

  40. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

    Argentina v Jamaica stat

Argentina have beaten Jamaica in both previous meetings, hammering them 5-0 at the 1998 World Cup, and beating them 2-1 in a friendly back in 2010.

  41. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Drew Radcliffe: If England started playing in the Copa America we'd end up like Mexico, oversaturated and playing too much.

Mexico didn't send a strong team because they are playing in North America's Gold Cup, which starts next month. And they're already out.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Angel Di Maria picks out Gonzalo Higuain and with Dwayne Miller well out of goal putting the striker under pressure, Higuain clips the ball over the keeper but onto the crossbar and over.

    Total dominance here.

  43. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

It's like a Manchester derby here. Angel Di Maria picks out United team-mate Marcos Rojo, who - at the second attempt - tries one of those unnecessary rabona leg-behind-the-other crosses. City defender Pablo Zabaleta volleys the cross wide at the far post.

  44. Post update

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Argentina cutting through Jamaica's defence with ease here. This time after a flowing move Lionel Messi tries to pick out Angel Di Maria but the underdogs just about get the ball clear.

    Argentina 1-0 Jamaica

Argentina wanted a penalty when Angel Di Maria picked out Gonzalo Higuain in a repeat of the move that led to the goal. This time Higuain goes down, under pressure from Michael Hector, but the referee isn't interested. Could have gone either way.

  46. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Ross Parlett: Best moment of Copa 2015 has been Neymar's razor-like pass that sliced Peru wide open for Douglas Costa to score the winner.

Matthew Ferris: My highlight of the tournament has to be Neymar's red card. It'll be interesting to see how Brazil cope without him.

  47. GOAL

Argentina 1-0 Jamaica - Gonzalo Higuain

    Gonzalo Higuain

Jamaica, with their 8% of possession so far, are now behind. Angel Di Maria has the ball on the left-hand side of the box and squares it to Gonzalo Higuain. The Napoli striker has his back to goal but finds space to fire home from the middle of the box.

  48. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Jamaica

It's 92% possession to Argentina so far after eight minutes. Our match stats don't seem to be able to cope with that kind of dominance!

  49. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Jamaica

Jamaica keeper Dwayne Miller is down injured as Gonzalo Higuain absolutely clatters him as he goes for a header. The Syrianska custodian did just enough to stop the Napoli striker. Think he should be OK to continue though.

  50. Join the debate on the BBC Sport Facebook page

    Lionel Messi

Nye Crozier: Shame Lionel Messi has never quite been at the same level for Argentina... they have a golden generation at the moment, though, and he's still got one World Cup left as a world class player, would love to see him lead his team to international glory while he's still their star man.

  51. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Jamaica

Seconds later, Lionel Messi has a shot blocked by Wes Morgan. Get prepared for a lot of mention of world-class stars and unspectacular Premier League and Championship players in the same sentence.

Eight England-born players in the Jamaica squad. Eight who played in England last season (not all the same eight).

  52. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Jamaica

Jobi McAnuff didn't do much with it and Argentina come forward. Lionel Messi plays it to Gonzalo Higuain, starting in place of Sergio Aguero, but as he tries to bring the ball onto his right foot to shoot, Michael Hector, of Reading, does enough to stop him.

  53. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Jamaica

Argentina have had most of the ball in the opening 90 seconds, probably not surprisingly. But they do nothing with it and Jobi McAnuff comes clear for Jamaica.

  54. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Barry Dunne: England should accept a Copa guest invitation if offered. No substitute for tournament experience. Better than dull friendlies.

  55. KICK-OFF

    Argentina 0-0 Jamaica

    We are under way.

  56. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

The Copa America always welcomes two guests into each tournament because South America only has 10 sides. Usually it's from countries elsewhere in the Americas, although it was Japan a few years ago.

What do you think of that? Would you like to see England compete at the Copa America in future?

What's been your highlight of the tournament? Let us know using #bbcfootball on Twitter, or on the BBC Sport and/or Match of the Day Facebook pages.

  57. Post update

    Argentina v Jamaica (22:30 BST)

    Kemar Lawrence

If the teams line up like we'd expect them to tonight, the man coming directly up against Lionel Messi will be Jamaica left-back Kemar Lawrence.

The 22-year-old joined MLS side New York Red Bulls from Harbour View back in March and has won 16 caps.

Lawrence is known as Taxi because "my primary school coach back in Jamaica thought I was really fast, plus I always took a cab to training".

  58. Argentina's Copa so far

Gerardo Martino's side started off with a 2-2 draw against his former side Paraguay, having led 2-0.

Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi put Argentina in control but Nelson Valdez and Lucas Barrios helped Ramon Diaz's side snatch a point.

They beat current champions Uruguay 1-0 in their second group game, with Aguero scoring the only goal.

Jamaica, meanwhile, have lost both their matches 1-0 - to Uruguay and then Paraguay.

  59. Smiles all round as Uruguay and Paraguay go through

    Uruguay and Paraguay

There was a game in this group that ended about 20 minutes ago and current holders Uruguay drew 1-1 with Paraguay to go through to the quarter-finals. Ramon Diaz's Paraguay had already progressed.

Jose Maria Gimenez headed Uruguay ahead from a corner but Lucas Barrios levelled just before half-time with a similar goal.

Had Paraguay scored a late winner, Jamaica would still have had the chance to qualify with a win against Argentina.

  60. LINE-UPS

    Argentina v Jamaica (22:30 BST)

Argentina: Romero, Rojo, Garay, Demichelis, Zabaleta, Biglia, Mascherano, Pastore, Messi, Higuain, Di Maria. Subs: Roncaglia, Gago, Pereyra, Aguero, Guzman, Casco, Otamendi, Tevez, Banega, Lamela, Lavezzi, Andujar.

Jamaica: Miller, Mariappa, Hector, Morgan, Lawrence, McCleary, Austin, Watson, McAnuff, Laing, Brown. Subs: Kerr, Gordon, Parkes, Gray, Barnes, Mattocks, Williams, Ottey, Grant, Dawkins, Taylor, Thompson.

  61. Post update

    Argentina v Jamaica (22:30 BST)

What's at stake tonight, you may well ask. Well Argentina are through and Jamaica are out.

But if Argentina don't top Group B, they could face Brazil in the quarter-finals. If they win, they will finish top. If they draw 0-0 they won't, 1-1 will send it to lots and 2-2 or higher is enough for Argentina.

  62. Post update

    Argentina v Jamaica (22:30 BST)

    Lionel Messi

Bobby Charlton, Zinedine Zidane, Franz Beckenbauer, Dino Zoff, Gheorghe Hagi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul, Kevin Kilbane.

Tonight, four days short of his 28th birthday, Lionel Messi joins those pantheon of football greats to have won 100 caps.

For people interested in these kinds of things, Messi is 113 days older than Ronaldo was when he reached his Portugal landmark against Northern Ireland.

The youngest player ever to win 100 caps? Of course, that's Cha Bum-Kun of South Korea, who was 24 years and 139 days.

  63. Messi v McAnuff

    Argentina v Jamaica (22:30 BST)

In the blue and white corner we have maybe the greatest footballer of all time, the fifth most expensive player ever and the Premier League's top scorer.

In the yellow corner, we have an Isidro Metapan player and players released by Leeds and Yeovil this summer.

Welcome to Argentina v Jamaica in the Copa America Group B finale.
