It may not have happened for Wayne Rooney, but it did for Juan Mata.

  10. What's wrong Wayne?

    Aston Villa v Man Utd

    Man Utd

Not a good night for Wayne Rooney, and you chances of scoring are not going to be helped when you only have one touch all game inside the opposition area...

  17. Mbemba's monumental task

    Swansea Newcastle

It was a thankless task, especially after Daryl Janmat was sent off, but Chancel Mbemba did not do a bad job dealing with the brilliant Jefferson Montero.

The only blot on his copybook was that he turned up to the game like this...

    ...and not like this...

  22. Post update

    Swansea v Newcastle

    Swansea

Bafetimbi Gomis has scored seven goals in his last eight Premier League appearances.

He can sometimes look like Bambi on ice, but that was a composed finish.

  23. Post update

Where to next? Swansea as they take on Newcastle. The Swans impressed against Chelsea, did they carry that on into today?

    Tottenham v Stoke

    Stoke

Stoke are reinventing themselves and have a lot more flair players in attack, but is it coming at the cost of their physicality? Eric Dier reckons so, saying that the players are smaller than they used to be, and that he had targeted the near post as a weakness to exploit.

  41. Kone you believe it

    Southampton v Everton

    Arouna Kone

    Arouna Kone you golden-haired wonder.

The striker has had something of a renaissance at Everton - he has had a hand in more league goals in his last two appearances for the Toffees (three) than he did in his previous 17 (two).

    Lukaku

You might have missed this, Romelu Lukaku struck a fan with a stray shot during the warm-up, but proved he's all heart by apologising and presenting a t-shirt to the woman in question.

The home fans warmly applauded the striker's gesture, while manager Roberto Martinez later joked that his player would have to make hitting spectators with the ball part of his pre-match routine.

  44. Saints' suckerpunch

    Southampton v Everton

    Southamtpon
Image caption: Ross Barkley (20) picked up the ball after the Southampton corner, fed a pass to Arouna Kone who in turn found goalscorer Romelu Lukaku.

Just 17 seconds after Southampton took their corner, Everton went down the other end of the pitch to score. Are Southampton overcommitting in attack?

"The referee got one decision right and one wrong for me. Kasper Schmeichel's incident was a penalty. It was a penalty but I don't think it was a sending off.

"Adrian's was a red card. It was dangerous play and he has to deal with that red card."

  50. Man of the Match?

    Shinjo Okazaki

Leicester striker Shinji Okazaki came off after 62 minutes but not before he had scored his first goal since his summer move from German side Mainz and also had a hand in the Foxes second goal.

Do you agree with our choice of Man of the Match?

  73. Another great day of football

    Claudio Ranieri

Two games, two wins. Claudio Ranieri can get away with looking a little silly standing next to an oversized bear because it is all going very well for the Leicester boss.

An unfamiliar name at the top of the table, controversial red cards and stunning comebacks. We've got it all on Match of the Day tonight.
