  1. FULL-TIME

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

That's it. What a great win for Watford. They played a very mature game, and forward Odion Ighalo was magnificent once again.

As for Stoke? What a way to ...er... celebrate Mark Hughes's 100th game in charge of the club.

    Alman Abdi
  2. STOPPAGE TIME

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Four of your English Premier League minutes of it.

  3. WATFORD SUBSTITUTION and BOOKINGS

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Watford forward Odion Ighalo comes off, very slowly, which annoys Erik Pieters who confronts him.

Ighalo is booked for being slow and Pieters is booked for being aggro. First two bookings of the match.

Charlie Adam is shown a yellow for a foul on Etienne Capoue.

    Yellow o'clock here.

By the way, Adlene Guedioura came on.

  4. Post update

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

By the way, watch the combination play between Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo on Match of the Day later - they have been exceptional. I have to say I think Ighalo will move to a bigger club. Sorry Watford fans.

  5. Post update

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Stoke fans are leaving, not in droves, but in a trickling stream-like fashion.

  6. WATFORD SUBSTITUTION

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Valon Behrami comes on for fellow Swiss player and goalscorer Almen Abdi. Abdi put in a good shift.

  7. Post update

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

    Odion Ighalo
  8. Post update

    Stoke 0-2 Watford

Watford sub Juan Carlos Paredes goes close to making it 3-0. The right-back's effort is well saved by England keeper Jack Butland.

At the other end, Jon Walters tries to pull one back for Stoke but drags his shot wide.

  9. GOAL - Stoke 0-2 Watford

    Almen Abdi

    Abdi

It was coming to be honest. Stoke have had a 'mare today as has Marc Wilson.

He's not looked comfortable since he came on early in the match. On this occasion, he is dispossessed on the left by the brilliant Odion Ighalo.

The Nigeria striker feeds Almen Abdi, who runs on to the ball and fiercely pokes/smashes his shot from 18 yards past Jack Butland.

  10. Post update

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Watford keeper Heurelho Gomes, who hasn't had too much to do to be honest, has to claw away another inswinging corner - in the first half it was from Xherdan Shaqiri and this one is from Charlie Adam.

    Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes
  11. WATFORD SUBSTITUTION

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Right-back Juan Carlos Paredes comes on for Ikechi Anya. I think that's a 'protecting the lead' move by ol' Quique.

  12. STOKE SUBSTITUTIONS

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Odion Ighalo produces another sumptuous backheel to put in Ikechi Anya. Anya falls under the challenge of Marc Wilson, but ref Martin Atkinson points for a corner.

Meanwhile, Stoke boss Mark Hughes brings on Peter Crouch and Jon Walters for the rather ineffective Xherdan Shaqiri and Joselu.

Nothing comes from the corner. I've written that a few times today.

  13. Post update

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Odion Ighalo's fierce volley from a corner from the right is blocked. Good thing for Stoke keeper Jack Butland it was because he's finding it very hard to see with the sun in his eyes at the moment.

  14. PENALTY APPEAL

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Watford striker Odion Ighalo falls in the area and appeals for a pen. Marc Wilson gave him a little nudge but there's not enough really - ref Martin Atkinson wasn't interested either.

  15. Post update

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

    Troy Deeney
  16. OUCH!

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

Watford striker Odion Ighalo is down on the ground clutching his face. The replay seems to suggest that Charlie Adam's boot came in contact with his head. Hmm...

Adam goes to check if he's OK. The Hornets striker comes off the pitch to get treatment but then comes back on.

  17. KICK-OFF

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

We are back under way in the second half.

    Troy Deeney of Watford
  18. Post update

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

The Stoke players are out very early. Textbook 'out early in the second half when the team are losing' approach. Does it work?

  21. Troy Deeney goal

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

    Deeney

We can't bring you video highlights of the Troy Deeney goal - you can watch it on Match of the Day later - but here's a graphical description. Can you work out where Deeney is? If you can't then we seriously need to talk.

  22. HALF-TIME

    Stoke 0-1 Watford

    Troy Deeney celebrates
  23. GOAL - Stoke 0-1 Watford

    Troy Deeney

Easy as you like. They threatened a little earlier and now they have scored.

Troy Deeney, having knocked on the door more occasions than any other Premier League player this season without scoring, finally scores this campaign.

He is fed a lovely backheel pass by his partner-in-crime Odion Ighalo before stroking in his shot from about 15 yards. Silky.

    Quique Sanchez Flores
  24. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Heurelho Gomes is forced to claw away Xherdan Shaqiri's corner from the left that was swinging in. It would have been embarrassing for the Stoke stopper if that crept in.

  25. HITS THE WOODWORK - TWICE!!

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Watford forward double act Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo go oh so close to giving the Hornets the lead.

First, top scorer Ighalo heads on to the bar then his team-mate follows up with a sidefoot effort against the same bit of wood (metal).

Unlucky rather than "they should have scored". You'll see what I mean when you watch Match of the Day later.

    Odion Ighalo
  26. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

  27. OH DEAR!

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

The best chance of the match so far falls to Stoke's Marko Arnautovic - and the midfielder heads it over, nay, shoulders it over from eight yards out.

It was a good initial ball from Xherdan Shaqiri.

    Marko Arnautovic
  28. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

...Charlie Adam takes it - of course - and it deflects out for a corner, which for the umpteenth time results in a by-product of nowt.

  29. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Stoke have a free-kick about 45 metres from goal - dead centre. I counted.

  30. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Stoke win yet another corner, but Bojan cannot get his delivery beyond the first man. Poor.

There is a goal in this match. I sense it - Jedi-like.

    Joselu
  31. CLOSE-ISH!

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

It's Charlie Adam again who tries his luck from distance. This time he strikes a Watford headed clearance full on the volley which again misses Heurelho Gomes's left-hand upright.

It actually took a deflection, but Stoke fail to do make anything of the resulting corner.

  32. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Thoughts on Xherdan Shaqiri? He cost £12m and just now put too much purchase on a free-kick from the right. It was pretty poor to be honest.

Tweet your thoughts to #bbcfootball and keep it clean eh?

    Xherdan Shaqiri of Stoke
  33. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Stoke win a corner after Craig Cathcart has to head out with Joselu set to pounce - the corner comes to zilch.

  34. STOKE SUBSTITUTION

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Stoke defender Geoff Cameron appears to have suffered a thigh injury and is replaced by Marc Wilson, who moves into the right side of centre-half.

I wonder if that early change will cause a problem in the Potters' system?

    Geoff Cameron goes off
  35. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Stoke are now applying their first bit of pressure of the match. Midfielder Charlie Adam gets a low drive away which misses Heurelho Gomes's left-hand post by a foot.

  36. Post update

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Stoke players are wearing black armbands in memory of their former player Howard Kendall, who died last week at the age of 69.

    Odion Ighalo of Watford
  37. CLOSE!

    Stoke 0-0 watford

Watford striker Troy Deeney's in. He eludes the weak challenge of Geoff Cameron and is just about to sidefoot home, but is denied by the outstretched foot of Glen Johnson. Good defending from the ex-Liverpool man.

  38. KICK-OFF

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

We have lift off. Stoke get the match under way. Kicking from left to right if you're sitting in the area where they are kicking left to right.

  39. 'Potters have found their rhythm'

    Stoke v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Steve Wilson

BBC Match of the Day commentator

"Stoke may have had a slightly sticky start to the season but they have found their rhythm now, as we always suspected they would.

"They have won their last four games in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in three of them. If they beat Watford this would be their best Premier League sequence in four years.

"Watford are not extravagant goalscorers - only six in nine games: it's the fewest in the division and one man, Odion Ighalo, has scored five of them.

"With Stoke looking so secure at the back, a repeat of the goalless draw on their last visit to the Britannia Stadium eight years ago may be the best Watford can hope for."

  45. 'We want to try to win'

    Stoke v Watford (15:00 BST)

Now then. Watford have not won in their last three games, and lost two of those.

Their manager Quique Sanchez Flores, with arguably the best groomed facial hair in the Premier League, knows it'll be a wee bit tricky to end that barren run at the Britannia Stadium.

"We know that in past years Stoke were playing a different style, really direct, long ball but with Mark Hughes it changed a little bit and they try to play the ball on the floor. They are in the middle now.

"Of course they have great morale and it is very difficult team, a difficult stadium but we want to be positive.

"We won in a very important stadium like Newcastle as well and we want to try to win - why not?"

Glad he wants his team to go for the victory - I don't fancy their chances.

    Quique Sanchez Flores
  46. Team news

    Stoke v Watford (15:00 BST)

Stoke manager Mark Hughes, celebrating his 100th game in charge at the club, named the same XI that recorded a 1-0 win at Swansea on Monday. Striker Jon Walters is on the bench after recovering from a groin problem.

    Stoke XI

Watford make one change with defender Miguel Britos making his league debut. Sebastian Prodl drops to the bench.

  47. Team news coming up

    Stoke v Watford (15:00 BST)

Ready? This could make or break your fantasy teams.

  48. Happy 100 for Hughes?

    Stoke v Watford (15:00 BST)

Move over Watford- previously considered the Premier League team that was "hard to beat" -Stokeare back to reclaim their title.

Having waited seven games to record their first league win, the Potters have managed to notch three on the bounce, conceding just one goal.

Their managerMark Hugheswill obviously be hoping to celebrate his 100th game in charge of the club with a fourth victory.

"I do think the fact it is 100 games is good as it means I have lasted a little bit longer than I did in my last job," said the Welshman

    "Long may it continue."

There's no reason why it shouldn't.

    Mark Hughes
