  1. Derby denied by Clarets' defence

    FT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

So after eight league games in charge of Derby, Paul Clement has now seen his side draw five times.

Tonight they controlled possession, but could not break down an organised Burnley defence, as Sean Dyche's side stretched their own unbeaten run to five games.

You can relive tonight's action by reading our match report.

All that remains is for us to say thank you for joining us and we'll see you tomorrow night, as the League Cup third round kicks off up and down the country.

  2. FT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Tonight's draw moves Derby up to 11th, one point off the play-off places, while Burnley are now third in the table, two points behind second-placed Middlesbrough.

  3. Reaction

    FT: Derby County 1-1 Burnley

Derby County defender Richard Keogh tells Sly Sports:

"I thought we played quite well, especially second half. I thought we put them under a lot of pressure and deserved to win it.

"It is a good clean sheet and a good point. Burnley are a good team."

  4. Reaction

    FT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley defender Michael Duff tells Sky Sports:

"It's a point away from home. (Derby) are a good outfit. We've had to come under a lot of pressure, but I'm not sure they had that many clear-cut chances. I think we deserved the clean sheet.

"It is a tough league and a point away from home is never a bad result."

  5. FT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Quote Message: Derby controlled the game. When they got in behind they just couldn't pick that final pass out. Burnley will be challenging for the title so it was important Derby didn't get beaten. Derby are unbeaten in three now, so they are going in the right direction. from Craig Ramage Ex-Derby midfielder on BBC Radio Derby
Craig RamageEx-Derby midfielder on BBC Radio Derby
  6. FT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

So, Burnley's winning run comes to an end, but they remain unbeaten in their last five games.

There's frustration for Derby, who remain without a win at home so far this season, under manager Paul Clement.

The hosts controlled possession tonight, but were unable to break the Clarets down.

  7. FULL-TIME

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

The referee says enough is enough, and despite their late efforts, neither side could break the deadlock, and they will share the spoils tonight.

  8. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley will be pleased to take the point if it stays like this. We have just seconds left of this Championship game.

  9. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

We are now playing two minutes of added time. Have Derby left their surge too late?

  10. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Johnny Russell does well to get to the byline and cut the ball back for Chris Martin, but Burnley get a good block in and clear.

Seconds later, Martin has a go from range and his bouncing shot forces Tom Heaton into a diving save to his right.

  11. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

But Johnny Russell's curling free-kick goes over everyone's head and out for a goal kick - cue groans around the iPro Stadium.

  12. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby have won a free-kick in a dangerous position, after a foul by Ben Mee on Johnny Russell.

  13. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Sam Vokes has another chance for Burnley, with time to shoot inside the area, but he snatches at the shot and it is an easy save for Scott Carson in Derby's goal.

This has been an end-to-end spell, for the last few minutes, in contrast to the previous half an hour.

  14. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby almost take the lead themselves at the other end, with Tom Heaton diving to his right to palm away Johnny Russell's header. Then the winger sees a shot deflected wide for another Derby corner, but Burnley get the ball away to safety.

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Changes for both sides. Matt Taylor replaces Michael Kightly for Burnley, while Derby take off George Thorne and throw on Jamie Hanson.

  16. CLOSE!

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

At the other end, Jason Shackell slips and lets George Boyd in towards the byline. Suddenly, Burnley have three on two, and Boyd cuts it back for Sam Vokes but he volleys over the bar. What a chance that was. A real let off for Derby.

  17. CLOSE!

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Cyrus Christie wins another Derby corner. The cross comes in deep to the far post and Richard Keogh heads across goal, but is is cleared off the line by Tendayi Darikwa.

Moments later, George Thorne forces Tom Heaton into a good save from long range. Derby have come to life!

  18. Get Involved on #bbcfootball

The striker in question is Rouwen Hennings, a first-half replacement for the injured Andre Gray.

  19. SUBSTITUTION

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Midfielder Jacob Butterfield is withdrawn as Jeff Hendrick comes on for Derby. Is that the change the hosts need?

  20. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Cyrus Christie sends over a very deep cross, which looks harmless, but Burnley needlessy turn it behind for a Derby corner.

The set-piece is cleared though, with Burnley once again looking tidy and organised at the back.

  21. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley double the night's number of shots on target so far as Sam Vokes finds space all of a sudden outside the area, and his shot is slightly deflected by Jason Shackell, forcing Scott Carson into a routine save.

  22. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley have just enjoyed their longest spell of possession of this second half so far....with about 11 passes. That's how little of the ball they have seen since the break. Sean Dyche's side have been content to sit back, very deep, and soak up the Derby pressure - which has worked if the aim is a 0-0 draw.

  23. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Incredibly, despite the several millions of pounds worth of attacking talent that we have on the pitch tonight, we have still only had one shot on target in this entire game so far, and none in the second half. Can either side do something different, to change this game?

  24. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley are defending resolutely at times and they do well to head clear a Johnny Russell cross from a free-kick, after a foul by Ben Mee. Derby need some creativity, something different. Perhaps they are missing dynamic winger Tom Ince, but their fans are desperately urging them to find that elusive goal.

  25. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

As they search for a breakthrough in this game, one attacking option that Derby have on the bench tonight is former England striker Darren Bent. But he is not currently a man in red-hot form, having not netted yet so far this season.

    Darren Bent
  26. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Jacob Butterfield blasts well, well over the bar when things looked to have opened up nicely for Derby. That was a waste. He had lots of time on the edge of the box.

  27. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

To say that Derby have dominated possession since the restart would be a huge understatement. Their full-backs are pushing up and using the width well. But can Derby break Burnley down?

  28. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

The set-piece is cleared but only as far as Jacob Butterfield, and he has a go from range and his deflected effort wins another corner for Derby. This time Richard Keogh rises well to head goalwards but can't find the target. This is a good spell for Paul Clement's side.

  29. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby are seeing most of the ball so far in this second half, with Burnley defending a very deep line. The hosts force a corner.

  30. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

One man that hardly had a kick in the first 45 minutes was Burnley striker Sam Vokes. He'll need to get a lot more involved if he is going to add to his two goals for the season tonight.

    Sam Vokes
  31. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Niether side made any changes at the break. Burnley, playing in their traditional claret and blue kit, had already made a change before half-time though, of course, with Andre Gray suffering an injury.

  32. KICK-OFF

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley get the second half started. Can either side open the scoring in the next 45 minutes? They'll certainly need to get more efforts on target than in the first period.

    Derby v Burnley
  33. Coming up this week

    HT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

And the League Cup drama will continue on Wednesday, when Tottenham host Arsenal in a north London derby.

Meanwhile, holders Chelsea travel to League One Walsall, and Manchester United host Ipswich.

You'll be able to follow all the right action right here on the BBC Sport website, and on BBC Radio.

  34. Coming up this week

    HT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Now seems as good a time as any to remind you that we have a fantastic mid-week football schedule in store this week, with the League Cup third round starting tomorrow night.

The temperature will be sky-high right from the off, as we have a second-city derby, with Aston Villa hosting rivals Birmingham City on Tuesday - the first game between the two sides for four-and-a-half years.

Also tomorrow, Premier League leaders Manchester City travel to Sunderland, while there is a meeting of two of the other sides currently occupying Champions League places, Leicester and West Ham.

  35. HT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Quote Message: I think whoever gets that first goal will win the game. Derby look the more likely and they've played some good stuff, but you've got to be wary of Burnley because they've got that quality going forward. from Craig Ramage Ex-Derby midfielder on BBC Radio Derby
Craig RamageEx-Derby midfielder on BBC Radio Derby
  36. HT: Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Sadly for Burnley fans, the most significant moment of the opening first 45 minutes was an injury to striker Andre Gray, who was replaced with a possible hamstring problem. How much will they miss his goal threat in the second half, or indeed in the coming weeks, if the problem persists?

  37. HALF-TIME

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Aside from that late Derby chance, they haven't really got going yet. The referee calls time on a goalless first half.

  38. CLOSE!

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Right at the end of the half, Derby have their best attack of the game and only a superb block from Tendayi Darikwa - who gave the ball away initially, stops Chris Martin putting Derby ahead.

  39. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

    Burnley fan

We are about to see two minutes of added time at the end of the first half.

  40. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

As half-time approaches, neither side look like they're about to make a breakthrough. Burnley have frustrated the hosts so far and they'll arguably be the happier side at the break, if it stays like this.

  41. CLOSE!

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

After good play from Tendayi Darikwa, Burnley switch the play to the left flank and force a corner. Derby make a hash of trying to clear that corner, and the ball almost falls nicely for George Boyd, but he can't quite connect from seven yards out. That was a chance for the visitors.

  42. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

This might be quite harsh on both defences, but I'd say this match has been a bit low on quality so far, especially given the firepower that both teams have going forward. The game needs a good chance or even a goal, to really liven things up.

  43. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

    Sean Dyche

Burnley boss Sean Dyche will be worried about that injury to his striker Andre Gray, but otherwise he will probably be pretty satisfied with his side's performance so far. If they can avoid defeat tonight, Dyche's team will move up to third in the table.

  44. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby's Johnny Russell runs at the Burnley defence at pace and plays a quick one-two with Chris Martin but overhits the return ball and it goes out of for a goal kick.

Moments later, Craig Forsyth sends overs a fierce cross to the back post but it evades everybody. Burnley are standing firm at the back so far.

  45. SUBSTITUTION

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

...and German forward Rouwen Hennings replaces the injured Andre Gray.

  46. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Andre Gray signals to the Burnley bench to indicate that he needs to come off. He's tried to continue but clearly something is not quite right, as he has been repeatedly stretching his leg.

  47. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley's Tendayi Darikwa tries a spectacular volley from 25 yards out but the ball merely trickles towards the corner flag.

  48. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton flaps a little bit at a deep Derby cross, with Andreas Weimann lurking at the far post but, thankfully for the Clarets stopper, Weimann can't take advantage and the ball goes out for a goal kick.

  49. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

    Derby v Burnley

It looks like Andre Gray is going to continue for the time being, as he tries to run off whatever has been causing him to move awkwardly for the last few minutes.

  50. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

This is worrying for Burnley. Their big summer signing, Andre Gray, is receiving treatment for a possible hamstring issue.

  51. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby are looking to keep possession and build patiently, waiting to thread the right ball through to Chris Martin. They get the ball wide and Cyrus Christie's cross finds Martin, but he heads wide.

  52. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley's Michael Kightly sends over an outstanding cross that hangs perfectly in the air for Andre Gray, but he is penalised for a push. The striker's header went just over anyway, but that was some ball into the box from Kightly.

  53. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Quote Message: Derby are looking positive. They're getting their full-backs forward at every opportunity. from Craig Ramage Ex-Derby midfielder on BBC Radio Derby
Craig RamageEx-Derby midfielder on BBC Radio Derby
  54. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

The hosts win their first corner of the game. They're having a good spell here.

The ball is aimed towards Richard Keogh but Burnley get it away.

  55. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Winger Johnny Russell comes inside and has a go from outside the box but his shot is blocked. Derby have started to spread the ball around nicely though.

  56. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

    Joey Barton

If tonight's encounter wasn't fiery enough already, a certain Joey Barton could make his debut for Burnley later, if brought on from the bench. The former QPR midfielder was booked 11 times in 28 appearances last season, but undoubtedly he can also offer a touch of top-flight class to the Clarets this term.

  57. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby's Chris Martin chases down a long ball and Burnley keeper Tom Heaton does really well to get a block in. That was almost a nervous moment for the visitors, but their captain stood up well when faced with the on-rushing Martin.

  58. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby fans want a penalty as Andreas Weimann goes down in the box, but the referee is having none of it. I have to say, it looked like Weimann threw himself to the ground there.

  59. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

The visitors win another corner but this time Derby goalkeeper Scott Carson comes and claims the ball and the hosts can get the ball upfield for the first time in the game.

  60. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby striker Chris Martin does his defensive duties well and clears the danger from that corner.

  61. Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Burnley have won eight of their last 10 games against Derby. They force the first attack of the evening, and have won a corner.

  62. KICK-OFF

    Derby County 0-0 Burnley

Derby, playing in their traditional white shirts and black shorts, get things going.

"We want to be doing well in front of our great supporters."

    On Tom Ince:

"He picked up a minor knock on his knee in training. It's only a minor thing but it keeps him our for tonight."

Before the start of the season, I expect many of you predicted Derby and Burnley to be in and around the Championship's top six, come the end of the season.

Both sides made relatively slow starts by their standards, but arrive at tonight's game in good form.

Visitors Burnley are looking for a fifth win in a row, while Derby won two consecutive away games last week.

Sean Dyche's side will move up to third in the table if they avoid defeat this evening.
