  1. A point apiece

    FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

So Emyr Huws' fourth goal of the season rescues a point for Huddersfield tonight. They remain 13th in the Championship table.

Forest, who might feel they let all three points slip from their grasp, move up to 10th in the table, until the weekend at least.

You can read more about tonight's game in Gary Smee's match report here.

Thanks for joining us. Do join us again tomorrow, for live coverage of a west London derby, as Fulham host QPR.

    Until then, good night.

  2. Reaction

    FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson tells Sky Sports:

"At 1-0, it is always tight. We hit the post and then it was a great clearance off the line.

"In the end, maybe a draw was a fair result.

"We were camped in (our own half) a bit, and tried to hit them on the counter attack, which worked."

  3. Reaction

    FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Huddersfield goal scorer Emyr Huws tells Sky Sports:

"We started off well but conceded a sloppy goal. Credit to Forest, they made it hard for us to get some chances.

"But with the late goal, we'll take the point. They were defending so well and made it compact and hard for us."

  4. FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

For so long, it had looked as though Nottingham Forest were going to shut out Huddersfield tonight and earn a third consecutive away win.

But Emyr Huws' deflected strike drew the hosts level six minutes from time.

A point is probably fair, on reflection, for both sides. But Forest could so easily have doubled their lead just before the Terriers' equaliser, when Chris Burke struck the post and Chris O'Grady's rebound was cleared off the line.

    Emyr Huws

    Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

The final whistle goes and they will share the points here tonight.

  6. Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Time is ticking by and neither side have created an opening yet in added time.

  7. Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Three minutes have been added here. Is there to be a late, late winning goal?

  8. Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

The Huddersfield fans are excited now. They sense there is still time for their team to win this. Just over two minutes of normal time remain, plus stoppage time.

  9. Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Henri Lansbury has a chance to restore Forest's lead immediately with a free-kick on the edge of the box but he fires way, way over the bar.

  10. GOAL (Huws)

    Huddersfield 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Huddersfield are level. Emyr Huws picks the ball up 25 yards out, slightly to the left of centre, and strikes a fierce shot towards goal. It takes a really heavy deflection and flies in off the underside of the bar. That's a tad unfortunate for Forest, but Huddersfield won't care. Game on!

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest goal scorer Ryan Mendes comes off and is replaced by Tyler Walker.

  12. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Forest really should be two goals ahead. Can Huddersfield punish them and grab an equaliser?

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

A second change for Huddersfield as Sean Scannell is replaced by Joe Lolley.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Forest counter brilliantly and Chris Burke looks certain to score but, one-on-one with the keeper, he strikes the post.

On the rebound, Chris O'Grady shoots first time but his effort is cleared off the line marvellously by Martin Crainie.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Winger Chris Burke comes on to replace Jamie Ward for Forest.

  16. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Dorus de Vries does well there to come out and punch clear another Huddersfield corner. The hosts have had a number of corners in the last 10 minutes but haven't yet made one count.

  17. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Ishmael Miller shows his power and wins the hosts another corner. This time it is aimed towards the near post, but Joel Lynch can't direct his header goalwards.

At the other end, Forest striker Chris O'Grady forces Jed Steer into a low save at his near post.

Just 20 minutes left for Dougie Freedman's side to hold on.

    Dougie Freedman

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

The hosts make a substitution and it is Mustapha Carayol coming off, to be replaced by Nahki Wells.

  19. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Mustapha Carayol runs at Eric Lichaj once again and this time wins another corner for Huddersfield. The ball comes in dangerously towards the back post but Forest get it away to safety once more.

  20. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

From that corner, the Huddersfield players are appealing for a penalty for handball, but the referee is having none of it.

  21. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

The Huddersfield fans are finding their voices and started to urge their team on. With less than half an hour to go, they want them to show a tad more urgency. Harry Bunn does well to get to the byline and win a corner.

  22. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Harry Bunn sends in a good left-footed cross, aimed for Sean Scannell, but Daniel Pinillos does well to clear for Nottingham Forest. That's good defending.

  23. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

At the other end, Forest win themselves a corner on the counter, and Michael Mancienne gets his head to it but his effort goes wide of the far post. That was at least a half-chance for the Reds.

  24. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Forest are doing their best to keep the ball and frustrate the home side. They have dealt with the high, aerial balls quite well tonight. Huddersfield look far more dangerous when they play it along the floor.

Mustapha Carayol makes a good run forward and squares the ball for Harry Bunn, who has another go for goal, but his shot is blocked again.

  25. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Neither side made any changes at the break by the way. What Huddersfield have done, though, is come quickly out the blocks, with a bit more intent.

Just what Chris Powell would have wanted, but he won't be smiling until his side find the back of the net.

    Chris Powell
  26. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Harry Bunn tries to level for Huddersfield immediately but his powerful shot is blocked by the head of Kelvin Wilson, and deflected out for a corner. That was going in, by the looks of things.

A positive start to this half from the hosts.

  27. KICK-OFF

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

The home side kick the second half off at the John Smith's Stadium.

  28. HT: Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

By the way, if things stay like this, Forest would move up to fifth in the Championship table.

  29. Get Involved

    HT: Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

So what should Huddersfield do to get back into this game in the next 45 minutes, Terriers fans?

And Forest fans, are you a side that can really challenge for promotion this season?

  30. HT: Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Just three shots on target in the first half, but Nottingham Forest have the one that counts.

Huddersfield will be looking for much more attacking intent after the break.

    Huddersfield Forest stats
  31. HT: Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

The John Smith's Stadium is not an overly happy place as the players trudge off. Things started so encouragingly for Huddersfield, but they have not have the best of times since going behind.

Will Chris Powell make any substitutions at the break?

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

The whistle goes for the end of the first half and Ryan Mendes' sweet strike sees the visitors Nottingham Forest lead at the break.

  33. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Two minutes of added time have been indicated at the end of this half.

  34. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

We're approaching half-time and Huddersfield will want to get into that dressing room as quickly as possible. They've not really created anything since going behind. Something will need to change for them, after the break.

Forest's Jamie Ward tries to double their lead with a dipping shot from long range but Jed Steer does well to hold it.

  35. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

The referee has to step in to calm things down as Jamie Ward and Jason Davidson clash and they have a little bit of 'afters'. Eventually, they are separated and play resumes.

  36. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Forest have found their feet since going ahead and they are frustrating the home side now. Huddersfield can't find the fluidity they showed going forward in the early stages.

  37. Post update

    Ryan Mendes info

It was certainly a fine strike by the 25-year-old to put Forest ahead.

  38. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Jamie Ward is clearly fouled by Dean Whitehead and Forest have a free kick about 40 yards from goal. The referee decided that didn't warrant a booking yet, naturally, the home side disagree. Whitehead is a tad fortunate, I'd say. The resultant free-kick is easily gathered by Huddersfield keeper Jed Steer.

  39. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

It has all gone a little bit flat for Huddersfield. They'll need to pick themselves up and get back into this half.

  40. Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

That goal has really silenced the home crowd because their side had dominated proceedings in the first 20 minutes.

Forest will be delighted to take advantage with their first real, meaningful attack of the game.

  41. GOAL (Mendes)

    Huddersfield 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Against the run of play, Nottingham Forest are ahead, with their first shot of the game.

Ryan Mendes times his run perfectly to drill home from inside the area after Eric Lichaj nodded it back to him. He had so much room - where were the Huddersfield defenders? But it was a smart finish from the man on loan from Lille and it is his first goal for the club.

  42. Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

In fairness to the visitors, while they have had a slow start, goalkeeper Dorus de Vries is yet to be really tested. He makes a comfortable low save there to stop a Harry Bunn effort. We remain goalless.

  43. Get Involved at #bbcfootball

  44. Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Sorry Forest fans. It is all Huddersfield at the moment. This time Mustapha Carayol's cross is too strong and goes out for a goal kick, but how many times have I mentioned his name already? The Gambian winger is having a real go tonight.

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest's Eric Lichaj goes into the book for a clear foul. That could be significant because the Nottingham Forest right back has already got his hands full tonight, dealing with a confident Mustapha Carayol, and now he is on a yellow.

  46. Post update

    Forest Shots

But you'd have to say it was Huddersfield on top so far in this match...

  47. Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Mustapha Carayol is clearly the outlet for Huddersfield tonight. They are sending the ball out to him on the left wing at every opportunity. He whips in another good cross but this time it is gathered by Forest keeper Dorus de Vries.

  48. Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

It was Mustapha Carayol himself with the curling delivery and Huddersfield's Elliott Ward has a free header but can't quite get a strong connection on it and the balls goes well wide. Forest were not punished for some sloppy marking there.

  49. Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Mustapha Carayol looks lively for the home side in these first few minutes and he wins a second corner for Huddersfield.

  50. Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

The hosts win the first corner of the game. It goes deep towards the back post and Forest get it clear. Positive intent from Huddersfield early on.

  51. Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Both teams get a few early, comfortable touches of the ball and it is the visiting fans from the East Midlands who are making most of the noise so far.

  52. KICK-OFF

    Huddersfield 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest get things started, playing in their changed kit of yellow shirts, yellow shorts and yellow socks.

  53. Football time.

  57. Team News

Huddersfield Town v Nottingham Forest (19:45 BST)

    Michael Mancienne

For the visitors Nottingham Forest, the big team news is that defender Matt Mills misses out with a hamstring problem, but Michael Mancienne returns at centre-back.

That is one of three changes for Dougie Freedman's side, with Ben Osborn (groin) replaced by Jamie Ward and Nelson Oliveira dropping to the bench, while there is a start for Jack Hobbs.

Meanwhile, Chris Powell has named an unchanged Huddersfield side from that which beat Bolton 4-1 last time out.

  58. An improving picture

Huddersfield Town v Nottingham Forest (19:45 BST)

Chris Powell's Huddersfield took a while to get going this season, failing to win any of their first seven games in all competitions, stretching their winless run from the end of last season to 11 matches.

Prior to back-to-back Championship wins against Charlton and Bolton last week, their previous victory had been a 1-0 win away to tonight's opponents, Forest, on 11 April.

Similarly, Dougie Freedman's Forest have fared significantly better so far in September than they did in October, and the Reds are bidding for a third consecutive away win this evening.

  59. The weekend begins here

Huddersfield Town v Nottingham Forest (19:45 BST)

So, after two nights of League Cup action which brought us local derbies, a six-goal thrashing and another bad result for Newcastle United, this non-stop week of domestic football continues with action from the Championship this evening.

On Monday, Derby and Burnley played out a goalless draw at the iPro Stadium.

So tonight, the footballing gods should have plenty of goals in store for us, right?
