Well it's been a cracking day of European football. A pummelling for Dortmund by Bayern, Atletico did well to nick a point in the Madrid derby and Zlatan has the final say, as always.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic
  3. Post update

    Paris St-Germain 2-1 Marseille 1

What a save! This time it's PSG's Kevin Trapp who denies former Newcastle forward Remy Cabella what could have been a point-saver in the final minute.

  6. Post update

    Paris St-German 2-1 Marseille

Marseille have just 10 minutes to try and find an equaliser but they are still in the game thanks to a remarkable save from Steve Mandanda.

Javier Pastore looked a certain scorer until Mandanda stuck out an arm to keep out his close-range effort.

  7. GOAL - Joan Verdu

    Fiorentina 3-0 Atalanta

Spanish midfilelder Joan Verdu grabs a third for Fiorentina in the 90th minute. The Viola are going back to the top of Serie A.

  8. FULL-TIME

All over at the Vicente Calderon. Great effort by both teams, they are spent.

Last chance for Atletico, as they stream down the left but Yannick Carrasco's pass is to strong for Filipe Luis.

  15. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

With that and the penalty save, Keylor Navas has earned his corn in the Real goal tonight.

  16. GREAT SAVE!

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

Wow, what a save. Atletico's Jackson Martinez picks up the ball at the edge of the box, takes a touch and smashes a shot towards the corner but Keylor Navas dives to his left and pulls out a great save.

  17. MISSED PENALTY

    Paris St Germain 2-1 Marseille

A third spot-kick of the night and this time it's to Marseille but they can't convert.

Abdelaziz Barrada takes after he is fouled it but Kevin Trapp makes a fine save to keep PSG In front.

  18. Post update

It's getting tasty. Three minutes of stoppage time.

    Gareth Bale of Real Madrid
  19. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

Two minutes of normal time left. The free-kick is cleared and Yannick Carrasco is away but Alvaro Arbeloa brings him down and this time it's the Real defender who is booked.

  20. YELLOW CARD

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

The same clash between Diego Godin and Cristiano Ronaldo and this time it's a Real free-kick and a yellow card for the Atletico defender.

  21. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo is in but his shot is saved, then from another chance, the Real forward is onto the ball but gets a cheeky nudge from Diego Godin. The Portuguese is not happy but it looked like clever defending.

  22. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

Five minutes left as the noise levels rise inside the Vicente Calderon. What a time for Luciano Vietto to get his first Madrid derby goal. Can the hosts find another?

Diego Simeone tells his players to "calm down"
  23. GOAL

    AC Milan 0-2 Lazio

AC Milan look to be heading for their first home defeat of the season as a Lorenzo Insigne goal three minutes into the second half has put Lazio in control.

  24. GOAL - Luciano Vietto

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

Luciano Vietto scores for Atletico Madrid

The substitutes combine. Jackson Martinez is sent down the left, his cross is flicked on at the near post by Antoine Griezmann, with Luciano Vietto nicking in to tap in the loose ball. Game on.

    Atletico Madrid players celebrate

Eight minutes left and Antoine Griezmann is in the book for a late foul on Luka Modric.

  26. CLOSE!

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Chance for Atletico as a deep cross is delivered to the back post where Luciano Vietto nods wide. Perhaps should have headed back across goal.

  27. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Few players running out of gas now and, as a result, a few late tackles going in. Luka Modric is caught and in no rush to get up. He's worked hard alongisde Casemiro in the Real midfield tonight.

  28. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

The result of that change sees Cristiano Ronaldo move into the middle. Not seen much of Real substitute Gareth Bale since he has come on.

Cristiano Ronaldo leads the Real Madrid line
  29. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Real goalscorer Karim Benzema is replaced by Mateo Kovacic. A defensive change? Benzema has done his job, can Real hang on?

  30. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Here we go, Real's Cristiano Ronaldo is on the break, surging down the left. He cuts inside but his shot is just wide of the near post despite being hit with real venom.

    Cristiano Ronaldo
  31. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

A few crowd shots of the Atletico fans, looking like they are starting to lack a bit of faith. The hosts need a spark but where is it coming from as Jackson Martinez fouls Real midfielder Casemiro? Moments later the Colombian international fires a cross along the six-yard line but it is collected under pressure by Keylor Navas.

    Diego Simeone
  32. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

  33. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

The game has hit a bit of a lull, so let's see if those subs can inject some life into it. Real very happy as they are, I'm sure.

    Isco rises with Giminez
  34. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

  35. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Jackson Martinez replaces Fernando Torres for Atletico. A slight delay to Gareth Bale's introduction.

  36. HALF-TIME

    Paris St-Germain 2-1 Marseille

Blimey. That was a dramatic few minutes but the upshot is that PSG have survived a rocky start to resume normal service thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's two quick-fire penalties. He has now scored more goals for the club than anyone else.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic
  37. Bale klaxon

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Gareth Bale is due to come on for Real Madrid.

  38. GOAL

    Paris St-Germain 2-1 Marseille

It's now 110 for Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he slots in his second penalty in as many minutes.

He had to re-take it after his initial effort was chalked off for encroachment but nothing un-nerves the big Swede, who now has four goals for the season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic celebrates his second goal
  39. YELLOW CARD

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Atletico's Juanfran is booked now after a late tackle on Sergio Ramos. Getting a bit spicy.

    Rafa Benitez gestures
  40. PENALTY

    Paris St-Germain 1-1 Marseille

Another penalty to Paris St-Germain. This time for handball.

  41. YELLOW CARD

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Raphael Varane is in the book as he charges into the back of Fernando Torres. Bit harsh but the Real defender recovers to make an important block from the resulting free-kick.

  42. GOAL - Zlatan Ibrahimovic

    Paris St-Germain 1-1 Marseille

Zlatan Ibrahimovic equalises from the penalty spot after he was fouled by goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.

It's the striker's 109th goal for Paris to equal the club record goal tally.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic
  43. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Atletico boss Diego Simeone is looking to make a change as the game veers in a direction that is not to his team's liking. Angel Correa, who has played well, is off,  nd is replaced by Argentine Luciano Vietto.

  44. HALF-TIME

    Fiorentina 2-0 Atalanta

    Borja Valero

It's half-time in the day's last action in Serie A with Fiorentina in control against Atalanta.

And Allan's goal still gives Napoli the advantage at AC Milan where the visitors lead 1-0.

    Lorenzo Insigne
  45. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo is now after punishment for Jose Gimenez, who aggressively chops the Real forward down. It's a foul but nothing more.

  46. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo fires a shot wide from distance. You can't fault his endeavour but it's not clicked for Real's joint record scorer.

    Cristiano Ronaldo races past Juanfran
  47. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Fernando Torres hasn't had much to point to as evidence of a fulfilling game so far. But he is set down the right and fizzes a cross-cum-shot across the edge of the six-yard box. Encouraging. The Spaniard is looking for his third of the season.

  48. GOAL - Michy Batshuayi

    Paris St-Germain 0-1 Marseille

    Michy Batshuayi scores for Marseille

Just as I was saying that, Marseille have gone in front thanks to a header from Michy Batshuayi. It's the striker's sixth goal of the season as he beat David Luiz to a cross from Abdelaziz Barrada to nod in. It's Marseille's first goal at the Parc des Princes since April, 2012.

  49. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Good build-up down the left as Marcelo feeds Cristiano Ronaldo, but his cross across the top of the box reaches no-one.

  50. KICK-OFF

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

    Diego Simeone

Atletico substitution as Yannick Carrasco comes on for Oliver Torres. Gareth Bale is warming-up on the sidelines.

  51. Post update

    Paris St-Germain 0-0 Marseille

It's been all Marseille but Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost puts PSG in front after 23 minutes. Only a fine save from Steve Mandanda denies the striker who has scored in his last two Ligue 1 games.

And Angel di Maria is then thwarted by Mandanda's finger tips as the home side belatedly begins to carry a threat.

  52. HALF-TIME

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

So who's impressed so far? Got to say that Atletico's Angel Correa has caused Real problems with several decent efforts and he probably pleased the home fans by taking out Cristiano Ronaldo too. Not seen too much of Fernando Torres so far.

    Fernando Torres
  53. Post update

    Fiorentina 2-0 Atalanta

Fiorentina have doubled their money thanks to a second goal from Borja Valero.

They are going back to the top of Serie A after losing that spot to Inter Milan earlier in the day.

They'll be dancing in the streets of Florence tonight.

  54. HALF-TIME

    Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid

Story of the game so far. Karim Benzema's ninth-minute header gives Real the lead before Antoine Griezmann's penalty was saved by Keylor Navas.  Advantage Real, who will head to the top of La Liga if it stays as it is.

    Karim Benzema
Griezmann takes his penalty which he misses
    Navas celebrates saving the penalty
  55. HALF-TIME

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

And that's half-time. Good effort by Real, who have taken steps to silence the crowd. Antoine Griezmann will be ruing that penalty miss though.

Antoine Griezmann after missing the penalty
  56. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

I like Sergio Ramos sometimes. Not afraid to put his foot through the ball when it's needed, no matter what he looks like. A Real corner is punched clear by Jan Oblak and we have a minute of stoppage time.

  57. Ronaldo Real's record

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

Quiet game from Cristiano Ronaldo so far, who hits a cross too deep and over the bar. A reminder of that record he is hoping to break for Real, although the club say he has already done it.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

  59. SUBSTITUTION

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Real right-back Dani Carvajal is in trouble with an injury and reckons he needs to go off. Alvaro Arbeloa is waiting to come on and after some debate, he is active. Four minutes to the break.

  61. Post update

    Paris St- Germain 0-0 Marseille

Marseille haven't won this fixture since 2010 but have started well.

Paris, managed by former Marseille defender Laurent Blanc, are having to do all the early defending as they look to protect an unbeaten start to the season.

    Laurent Blanc
  62. YELLOW CARD

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

real's Cristiano Ronaldo is on the counter here and gets his head down, just as Angel Correa clatters into him. Straight forward booking.

  63. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Real win a free-kick about 35 yards out on the angle. Guess who fancies it? Cristiano Ronaldo fires over again. Not got his target right just yet.

    Cristiano Ronaldo
  64. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Real pressing with some pace in midfield as they force Atletico back into their own half. Impressive so far from Rafael Benitez's team. Wonder if he knows the Liverpool news?

    Rafael Benitez
  65. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Real win a free-kick wide on the right, they work it short and then eventually it ends up at Cristiano Ronaldo's feet on the edge of the box, but his left-footed effort is well over.

  66. GOAL

    Fiorentina 1-0 Atalanta

An early goal in Florence where Josip Ilicic has struck from the penalty spot to put his side in front and at the top of Serie A as things stand.

Napoli have also scored to lead 1-0 at AC Milan.

  67. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Real midfielder Casemiro comes under a heavy challenge from Angel Correa. He gets up and waggles his finger towards the Atletico forward as if to say, "you're cards are marked son." Half an hour gone.

  68. KICK-OFF

    Paris St-Germain v Marseille (20:00 BST)

Old foes Paris St-Germain and Marseille get it on in Paris.

With Marseille struggling in 16th place in Ligue 1 it could hardly be billed as a game pivotal to the title race.

But the rivalry runs deep and champions PSG will not take this one lightly.

A moment's respect before kick-off, though, as players and fans pay tribute to the victims of Saturday night's flooding in the French Riviera.

    Kevin Trapp
  69. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Antoine Griezmann is off down the right but his France international team-mate Raphael Varane comes across and takes the Atletico winger out for a corner. it's worked short quite nicely, but when the delivery comes over it is cleared.

  70. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Luka Modric is starting to pull the strings in midfield for Real now. That let-off is sure to give them a boost and the home fans are starting to become a little quieter.

  71. Post update

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Wow, what a start to this game. They are usually tight affairs between the two sides, but both have started at a fair clip. How will the hosts rue that miss?

    Fernando Torres and Rafael Varane
  72. Post update

We're also underway back in Italy.

No goals yet but Fiorenrina are eyeing the win that will give them top spit while AC Milan are taking on Napoli.

  73. MISSED PENALTY

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Antoine Griezmann's effort is to the right corner but Keylor Navas drives to his left and palms it away.

    Keylor Navas saves the penalty
  74. PENALTY TO ATLETICO MADRID

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos looked like he had recovered as Fernando Torres bore down on goal but Tiago followed up and just as the Real defender set himself, in popped the Atletico midfielder and down he went under Ramos's challenge. Penalty.

  80. GOAL - Karim Benzema

    Atletico Madrid 0-0 Real Madrid

Right we are under way. Atletico get the game going.

  86. Almost ready

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

So if Real manage a win in the Vicente Calderon, they will top La Liga tonight. They last  achieved a win there in 2013. The players are out on the pitch and we are almost ready as Diego Simeone and Rafa Benitez embrace.

  87. Ronaldo's record confusion

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Is Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid's record goalscorer? His club says yes. Uefa's official statistics say no. The Portugual forward scored twice in Real's Champions League game against Malmo last week and Real say that took him past Raul's club record of 323 to 324.

It all centres around a goal he scored or didn't score in September 2010 but he was honoured by his clubs anyway and who would put it past the Portuguese, who has 501 goals in his career, to score this evening?

  88. Fiorentina eye top spot

While Real Madrid will be looking to hog the headlines, there are a couple of big games to come in Serie A.

Fiorentina v Atalanta and AC Milan v Napoli both kick off at 19:45 BST and a win for Fiorentina would take them back above Inter Milan into top spot.

  89. Time for some flare?

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

Atletico fans have started early as the atmosphere builds in the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid XI: Navas, Varane, Carvajal, Ramos, Marcelo, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Casemiro, Ronaldo, Benzema.

  91. FULL-TIME

    Levante 1-0 Villareal

Villareal's grip on top spot in La Liga may proved short-lived after they lost at the league's bottom club.

'The Yellow Submarine' went into the weekend at the top of the table for the first time in their history but they were sunk by a goal from Brazilian Deyverson.

His goal lifted Levante off the bottom and means Real Madrid will go top of the pile if they beat Atletico in the Madrid derby later.

  92. Bale on the bench

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

And the breaking news for Real Madrid is that Gareth Bale is on the bench, with Sergio Ramos starting. Fernando Torres starts for Atletico.

  93. Bale and Ramos back in contention

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

The good news for Real is that there are a couple of familiar faces back in the fold. Welsh forward Gareth Bale and defender Sergio Ramos have both been injured and boss Rafael Benitez says: "Even at less than 100% they are two very useful players for us."

With Barcelona suffering a shock 2-1 defeat by Sevilla on Saturday, there is a chance for either Madrid club to overtake their Catalan rivals in La Liga table. It's the first time Atletico boss Diego Simeone and and Real manager Rafael Benitez have come up against each other in what Spanish newspaper Marca is calling it "the revolutionary derby".

Good news for Sami Khedira, who looks to be completing his first 90 minutes of the Serie A season. Five minutes left.

  98. The familiar derby

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

Does familiarity breed contempt? Atletico and Real played each other no fewer than eight times last season, and they're at it again today. After a poor recent record against Real, Atletico have not lost a La Liga derby between the two teams in the past two seasons and last February there was a small matter of a 4-0 drubbing at the Vincente Calderon.

  99. Post update

    Juventus 3 Bologna 1

  101. Coming up....

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

Right well the Der Klassiker wasn't exactly a classic was it? No fear, though, we still have a blockbuster in the form of the Madrid derby to come. A duel of the tacticians as the AS newspaper would have it.

    AS
  102. GOAL

    Juventus 3 Bologna 1

Samir Khedira heads home his first Serie A goal and surely the points are in the bag for Juventus with 63 minutes gone in Turin.

The German international rose at the far post to nod in and the champions' recovery is gaining momentum.

  103. HALF-TIME

    Levante 0-0 Villareal

Botton-of-the-table Levante are putting up a fight against La Liga leaders Villareal.

If Villareal can't find a second-half winner, Real Madrid would go top with a win in the Madrid derby against Atletico later (19:30 BST)

Not sure that Roman Burki will be staying in the team for much longer after this. Every time Bayern play the ball in behind, the Dortmund keeper has no idea whether to come or stay in his goal. I'd say stay, that's where goals are scored, generally speaking.

Arturo Vidal, who has a heavy strapping on his knee is clipped by Ilkay Gundogan, right on his knee. Ouch. The warrior that the  Bayern player is, though, he'll carry on.

  111. GOAL

    Juventus 2-1 Bologna

Paulo Dybala puts Juventus ahead from the penalty spot eight minutes into the second half after Alvaro Morata is fouled.

Defender Alex Ferrari is penalised for pulling back Morata as the striker tries to reach a cross.

Dybala slots home his fourth goal of the season and things are suddenly looking up for the champions.

  112. SUBSTITUTION

    Juventus 1-1 Bologna

A minute into the second half Juventus should be in front but Alvaro Morata misses a sitter.

On-loan Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado tees up the former Real Madrid striker but he can't match his first-half finish as he shoots horribly wide.

    Juventus 1 Bologna 1

Time for a breather in Turin where the sides have gone in level.

Bottom club Bologna had promised an upset when Anthony Mounier gave them an early lead but Alvaro Morata's headed equaliser has appeased the home fans.

They will now expect to see their side go on and get only a second league win in the second half.

The balance of play suggests that might happen.

  132. GOAL - Robert Lewandowski

Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels does get himself into trouble at times. He dallies on the ball but Dortmund get away with it but moments later Robert Lewandowski beats the offside trap, with Roman Burki stranded, lays it back and when the ball is fed to Mario Gotze at the back post, he misses an open goal.

  135. SUBSTITUTION

Jerome Boateng likes a long pass, having set up two goals already, but kicks this one straight out. Dortmund make two changes as Adnan Januzaj and Marco Reus come on for Shinji Kagawa and Gonzalo Casto. Kagawa has been quiet.

  138. GOAL - Alvaro Morata

    Juventus 1-1 Bologna

Relief all-round inside the Juventus Stadium as Alvaro Morata heads the home side level with 32 minutes gone.

A deflected cross from Sami Khedira floats up nicely for Morata to nod in his first Serie A goal of the season.

  139. GOAL - Robert Lewandowski

    Robert Lewandowski scores

Shocking defending from Borussia Dortmund. The visitors press high up the pitch but Jerome Boateng just launches it down field to Robert Lewandowski, who collects the ball behind Dortmund's defence, beats a helpless Roman Burki and rolls it into the net. Howler. 11 goals in four games now for the Pole.

It's a frustrating night so far for Juventus as they try and repair the damage of falling behind to Anthony Mounier's early goal.

With nearly half an hour gone they aren't playing badly and not surprisingly are dominating possession.

But the champions haven't made a clear-cut chance yet as Bologna stand firm.

  153. GOAL Anthony Mounier (4 mins)

    Juventus 0-1 Bologna

Juventus have had a terrible start to the season but still not sure this was expected.

Anthony Mounier scored the winner in Bologna's only victory so far and showed another smart finish as he drifted in behind the home defence to steer the ball past Gianluigi Buffon.

We're under way in Turin with Juventus hoping to transfer their Champions League form - where they have won both of their games in Group D - to the domestic stage.

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:30 BST)

With the Madrid derby kicking off later, anyone else in Spain will struggle to get a look-in.

But we shouldn't forget that Villareal, who started the weekend as La Liga leaders for the first time in their history, will be looking to preserve their lead at Levante (17:15 BST).

They will fancy their chances, too, as Levante are bottom of the table.

Not sure I've mentioned Thomas Muller up until now, but he's on the scoresheet and it's an easy goal. Jerome Boateng knocks it long, Muller beats the offside trap and Roman Burki, who comes racing from the Dortmund goal, and calmly taps in.

Dutch leaders Ajax lose for the first time

There has been plenty of other Euro action elsewhere today.

Inter Milan have taken over at the top of Serie A - for the time being at least.

A 1-1 draw at Sampdoria was enough for Roberto Mancini's side to replace Fiorentina at the head of the Italian League.

However, Fiorentina play Atalanta this evening (19:45 BST) so it could be a short-lived lead.

Roma have gone third with a 4-2 win at Palermo.

In the Netherlands, PSV Eindhoven stepped up their title defence by winning 2-1 at leaders Ajax as Frank de Boer's side lost for the first time.
