Few shocks, but still some hope

We didn't have quite as many magical FA Cup stories as we were hoping for this weekend, but for non-league Whitehawk, Salford FC and Eastleigh the dream of a third-round tie against one of football's giants is still alive.

I'm afraid that's all we've got time for this afternoon, but thank you for keeping us company.

Chelsea, Manchester City or Arsenal?

The FA Cup third-round draw takes place in Cardiff on Monday, 7 December.

The draw will be presented by Mark Chapman live on BBC Two and BBC Two Wales at 19:00 GMT.

Last one

Grimsby v Shrewsbury (Monday, 19:45 GMT)

This is not quite the last of the second round ties as National League side Grimsby face Shrewsbury tomorrow.

The Mariners sit fourth in the fifth tier and face a side two divisions above them.

With the third-round draw being made just before the game, they will already know what the prize of winning will be.

Colchester 3-2 Altrincham

The pure ecstasy and agony of football summed up in two tweets...

That Calum Harriott is a quality player, too. 2 great finishes today from him. #bbcfacup #ColU

Robbed. Heartbreaking @altrinchamfc #bbcfacup

Highlights show

If you've missed any of the action this weekend, have no fear!

We'll have a 60-minute highlights show at 18:00 GMT on BBC Two and the BBC Sport website with all the goals from 19 of the 20 games so far.

And if you haven't quite had your FA Cup fix there's still one more game which completes the second round on Monday...

Danny Rose

Dag and Red 1-1 Whitehawk

Some very happy Whitehawk fans out there this evening...

Well done Whitehawk! Honestly I love the #FACup

@HawksFCOfficial well done to Whitehawk getting a "fergie time" equaliser against dag & red ...."Brightons" second big team :)

What brilliant TV!! The FA Cup is still alive .. That 95th minute Whitehawk equaliser was mental!!

Who is Whitehawk's hero?

Dag and Red 1-1 Whitehawk

Jordan Rose

Jordan Rose, Whitehawk's goalscorer, was born in Southampton and on Saints’ books as a 12-year-old before moving to France.

He then joined Bournemouth as a youth trainee for two years – playing in the same youth team as Sam Vokes and Josh McQuoid – but was released at the age of 18.

He’s since played for Salisbury City, Bashley, Brockenhurst, Weymouth, Paulton Rovers, Bath City, Stockport, Eastleigh, Hereford, Hayes & Yeading, AFC Telford, Alfreton, Tamworth and now Whitehawk.

His header helps the sixth-tier side into the third round draw.

Sunday's results

The undoubted story of the day was Whitehawk's late equaliser against Dagenham and Redbridge while Altrincham went so close to forcing a replay at Colchester. Here is out the rest of the day panned out:

There will be some very happy people in Brighton tonight.

A few years ago we were in the Sussex County League, now were in the 3rd Round with some of the best sides in the world - WOW!!!

Steve King "How we have left it that late. Look at these fans they are amazing. I am speechless." #FACup @hawksultras @HawksFCOfficial

Great finish to the Whitehawk game! What the FA Cup is all about! #magicofthecup

Don't forget you can view the second-half goals here. Highlights of all the games will be on the BBC Sport website shortly.

The full-time whistle

Well, we love a bit of late drama in the FA Cup don't we!

Away from Whitehawk's dramatic last-minute equaliser at Dagenham and Redbridge, there was heartbreak for Altrincham who lost 3-2 at Colchester after Callum Harriot's winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

There was another shock in Devon as League Two Exeter City beat League One Port Vale 2-0.

Sadly, for Chesham United and Welling fans, there was no fairytale as they both suffered heavy defeats against Bradford and Carlisle respectively.

Forest Green Rovers are also out after a 1-0 defeat by Oxford United thanks to a late Kemar Roofe goal.

What a great story. What a moment for Jordan Rose. They've deserved that."

FT: Dag and Red 1-1 Whitehawk

You can't put it into words, it's just so special to me personally after so many injuries. It's everything. 18 months of frustration just came out."

We deserved it. We just threw everything at them, I put six centre-halves up top. Just look at the fans. This is what the FA Cup is all about."

Dag and Red 1-1 Whitehawk

The Whitehawk players celebrate with their jubilant fans at the final whistle after securing a much deserved draw.

Jamie Cureton's strike four minutes into the match looked to have been enough to send Dagenham into the FA Cup third round but Wayne Burnett's side long wait for a first home victory of the season goes on.

Having dominated large parts of the second half, the Hawks left it until the final seconds of the match to grab their equaliser as defender Jordan Rose scored his first goal of the season.

GOAL (Rose)

Jordan Rose

Sam Deering has delivered cross after cross into the Dagenham box to little avail this afternoon but with seconds left in the match, Jordan Rose rises highest through a sea of players to head the ball into the back of the net to send the away fans into delirium.

Dag and Red 1-0 Whitehawk

Sam Deering's pass into the box is missed by three Whitehawk players, when the faintest of touches would have almost certainly have seen the ball nestle into the back of the net. It is just not the visitors day.

FT: Colchester 3-2 Altrincham

Trevor Sinclair

Former England winger on Final Score

What a finish. Absolutely brilliant technique, the keeper has no chance. I don't know how Lee Sinnott is going to pick his players up."

Colchester 3-2 Altrincham

And that Callum Harriott strike is pretty much the last kick of the game.

Top effort from Lee Sinnott's team but they are out of the FA Cup for another season and credit to caretaker manager Wayne Brown leading Colchester today as they are round three.

GOAL (Harriott)

Colchester 3-2 Altrincham

Heartbreak for National League side.

Just after they have an excellent chance at the Colchester end, U's striker Callum Harriott lashes the ball into the top corner - top finish that.

Dag and Red 1-0 Whitehawk

Steve King has signaled to his Whitehawk side that he wants three at the back as his team push for the elusive equaliser with  the sides heading into four minutes of added time.

GOAL (Wyke)

Welling 0-5 Carlisle

It's a hat-trick for Charlie Wyke on his 23rd birthday and officially a thumping for National League side Welling.

The striker slots in to seal the most convincing of victories for the Cumbrians.

Dag and Red 1-0 Whitehawk

The hosts are being put under immense pressure from Whitehawk as Sergio Torres on target shot is just cleared by Nyron Nosworthy's outstretched foot.

It is all hands to the pump for Dagenham at the moment. Sam Deering takes a tumble in box and is desperate for a penalty but referee Lee Swabey is unmoved.

Oxford 1-0 Forest Green Rovers

Trevor Sinclair

Former England winger on Final Score

It's a good strike he uses his body well and bends it inside the bottom corner. The goalkeeper is smacking his hand on the turf, he knows he could have done better."

GOAL (Roofe)

Oxford 1-0 Forest Green Rovers

With his 12th goal of the season Kemar Roofe has got the first goal of the game late on. He curls the ball to the far post from the edge of the box and goalkeeper Steve Arnold gets there and will be disappointed he does not have stronger palms to turn it wide.

Dag and Red 1-0 Whitehawk

Arnaud Mendy has his head in his hands! The Whitehawk midfielder volleys David Martin's cross just wide.

Less than a minute later another excellent cross from Martin is met by Danny Mills and the striker looked for all the world as though he was primed to score only for his header to hang in the air.

The visitors' fans begin to sing:'"We're going to score in a minute." They're getting closer.

Colchester 2-2 Altrincham

Colchester have looked the side most likely to go on and get a winner, but Altrincham still have a threat up front with the pace and power of Michael Rankine."

Upset watch

Jake Moult
Rex Features

None of the five non-league teams are winning as we enter the final 15 minutes, but Altrincham are drawing at Colchester and Forest Green Rovers and Oxford United are goalless.

Chesham and Welling's runs look to be over, while Whitehawk need to fight from a goal down at Dagenham.

Dag and Red 1-0 Whitehawk

Whitehawk have around 20 minutes left to try and find an equaliser. On the balance of play you would have to say it is the least the visitors would deserve.

Meanwhile, Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett is looking anxious on the sidelines. His side have won just once in their last 14 league matches and are looking far from comfortable at 1-0.
