    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Well, that was quite a night. We'll be here to bring you coverage of Celtic's double header against Molde on 22 October and 5 November, the home game against Ajax on 26 November and the away tie in Istanbul on 10 December. Thank you very much indeed for your company this evening and for contributing by text, tweets and Facebook comments. All the best.

  2. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

    Celtic manager Ronny Deila

"We have to take the positives. I was very happy with Kieran Tierney today, and with Scott Brown and James Forrest. I want to see us braver on the ball to develop our own play. That will be key for the future. I need to give credit to the fans. They created a fantastic atmosphere."

  3. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

    Celtic manager Ronny Deila

"When you are defending you need to keep concentration for 90 minutes. For 88 minutes he (Efe Ambrose) was very good. I think we had very good control of the game in the first half. In the second half we were too deep at the start but we made some changes. When we have the ball we are a good team. We have to defend as high up the pitch as possible."

  4. Post update

    Celtic manager Ronny Deila

"We played well in the first half. They got the goal and that gave them energy. It was disappointing that they scored from almost the (only) two chances that they had. I'm disappointed that we didn't win but I'm happy that we got the point."

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson at Celtic Park

"How many times have we seen this movie this season, last season? When the same mistakes are being made, why don't they change it? Apart from the errors, I thought Celtic showed good character. For decent periods of this game they have outplayed a team put together at far greater expense, so there are positives for Celtic. How they must hope (defender Jozo) Simunovic gets fit."

    Former Aberdeen manager Willie Miller

"You've got to be better at the back. Efe Ambrose keeps making these mistakes. You keep asking when it's going to stop, IF it's going to stop. I can't understand why you don't mark their tallest player (at corners). Somebody will need to sit me down in a dark room and explain that one to me."

  13. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

BBC Scotland football pundit Murdo MacLeod

"The fans going home tonight will be delighted with the first 45 minutes. But the whole thing turned. Fenerbahce came out with an energy about them and they got the equaliser, but then Celtic hit back though there weren't many chances. It's two points dropped. They should have been sitting with three points from tonight and one from Amsterdam."

  14. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

With Molde's home game against Ajax also ending in a draw, the Norwegians top Group A with four points. The Dutch side and Celtic each have two points from their two draws and Fenerbahce are still in the hunt, even though they have only one point to show for their efforts.

  15. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Both sets of players applaud the fans. That was a really entertaining match, though you can't help think of what might have been, had Celtic been tighter at the back.

  22. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Fener keeper Fabiano has shown an appetite in this game for punching the ball clear. Unfortunately for Mikael Lustig, who was up to try to head in a corner kick, he is clobbered by the goalie as he fisted the ball away. The energetic defender is OK to continue after treatment, thankfully.

  23. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Mikael Lustig makes a good run down the right to pick up a pass from Scott Brown. The Swede takes his time and picks out Kris Commons in five yards of space at the edge of the box. However, his first-time right-foot shot flashes over Fabiano's crossbar.

  24. SUBSTITUTIONS

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Celtic make a double change. Kieran Tierney and Stefan Johansen are replaced by Tyler Blackett Tom Rogic for the last eight minutes.

  26. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson at Celtic Park

"Fenerbahçe have spurned chances to take the lead, and Celtic have begun to show some poise again. Brown, too, has recovered his zest. The scoreline and the flow of the game are in the balance."

  27. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Scott Brown is punished for bashing Fernandao's head. The home captain backs in to the double goalscorer and catches him with his elbow but the striker makes the most of it. The physio is on.

Alan Rankin on Facebook: "Ambrose makes me nostalgic for the days of Olivier Tebily or Anton Rogan..."

  31. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

James Forrest gives the visiting goalie his first test of the second half as he curls a right-foot shot from the edge of the box. Kris Commons, perhaps buoyed by seeing that, is next to trouble Fabiano with a long-range hammered shot that is saved, too. Can Celtic clear their heads and produce a winner after all?

  32. YELLOW CARD

  34. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

We're past the hour-mark now and for almost the first time since the match restarted Celtic enjoy some time and space in Fenerbahce's. Did I mention Craig Gordon was called upon for yet another save there, this time to prevent Nani completing the Turks' comeback?

  35. YELLOW CARD

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Stefan Johansen is booked for a tug on the jersey of Robin van Persie, who was in the throes of one of those twinkle-toed dangerous runs towards the opposition box. From the free-kick, the Dutchman smacks the defensive wall and in the next move Nani's shot is well saved by Craig Gordon, down low to his right-hand post. And there's more: as the ball bobs around the Celtic box like it's being nosed around a pool by happy seals, it falls to Van Persie but his header drifts over the bar.

  36. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

    Former Aberdeen skipper Willie Miller

"Celtic look deflated. I don't think they can believe what has happened in this game."

  37. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

Celtic are in disarray. Goalkeeper Craig Gordon races from his line and is rather fortunate not to be punished as Fernandao lifts his effort wide of the target. A minute later, with the resurgent Turks now picking up loose balls in midfield, Hasan Ali Kaldirim is sent scampering down the left and from the corner of the box his piercing shot is palmed wide by a relieved Gordon.

  38. Post update

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce

BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson at Celtic Park

"Ambrose's mistake rewards Fenerbahçe again, since the visitors began the second half still enthused and focused by the goal the Celtic defender gifted Fernandao just before half-time. Another familiar failing was evident as Fernandao scores again, though, since Celtic could not deal with a set-piece. The home side need to regroup."

  39. GOAL

    Celtic 2-2 Fenerbahce (Fernandao)

From a corner kick from the left, Fernandao rises to power a header past Craig Gordon from eight yards. The marking was slack in the Celtic box, no doubt, but the way the big striker used his neck muscles to turn his head on to that ball was impressive. Fernandao ghosted in behind Leigh Griffiths and caught Efe Ambrose flat-footed. Bang!

BBC Scotland football pundit Murdo MacLeod

"Not one of the Fenerbahce players would have got in the Celtic side in the first half."

  46. Post update

    Celtic 2-1 Fenerbahce

BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson at Celtic Park

"How Celtic's stubborn fallibility must infuriate their fans. In control of this game, with Brown imperious in midfield, and Ambrose makes an error to gift Fenerbahçe a goal. The visitors received a slither of hope out of nothing, and will no doubt feel revived, but Celtic can hold their nerve and be organised and committed again. A victory remains within reach, but mistakes need to be eradicated."

Anonymous: "When will Celtic football club start listening to the fans? We don't Ambrose on the park or at the club. Time after time costly mistakes in big games."

Mark, Ayr: "When will any reporter actually ask Ronny outright why he insists on playing this excuse for a footballer? Please at the press conference ask it outright."

Jim in Glasgow: "Why is Ambrose still at Celtic Park and why is he still in the team!, disgraceful error from a terrible player!!!"

Ambrose to score Celtic's decisive third this evening?

  48. Post update

    Celtic 2-1 Fenerbahce

    BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson

"I don't feel sorry for Ronny Deila. He knows Ambrose makes at least one mistake a game. We all said he would give up a chance. They have given Fenerbahce a chink of hope when they were lost."

  49. Post update

    Celtic 2-1 Fenerbahce

BBC Sportsound anchor Richard Gordon on that mistake by Efe Ambrose

"The word 'bomb scare' is trending across social media. If it's not, it should be."

  50. HALF-TIME

    Celtic 2-1 Fenerbahce

Football, eh? That lapse by Efe Ambrose, which allowed Fernandao, the top scorer in Turkish football last season, to score on the stroke of half-time, has changed the complexion of the match. Hmm.

  51. Post update

    Celtic 2-1 Fenerbahce

As the home fans whistle, presumably for half-time and not for the compensatory efforts being made by Efe Ambrose, the big defender moves up to attack from a corner kick but his header goes wide.

  52. GOAL

    Celtic 2-1 Fenerbahce (Fernandao)

With Celtic seemingly cruising, they suddenly hit the rocks as error-prone defender Efe Ambrose, on the D, is short with a header back to Craig Gordon in the Celtic goal, allowing Fernandao, just on for Volkan Sen, to pounce. That was a stinker for Celtic to lose.

  53. Post update

    Celtic 2-0 Fenerbahce

As Celtic push for a third, Kris Commons nutmegs Robin van Persie but as he tries to round the Dutch star he is knocked to the ground. The ref waves play on.

"It's two goals of real quality. The question now is can Celtic defend? There is no doubt that Fenerbahce have to change and put Celtic under pressure or this game is gone for them."

  56. GOAL

    Celtic 2-0 Fenerbahce (Commons)

Jjames Forrest is the provider of Celtic's second goal in four minutes. With 32 minutes on the clock, he runs down the left and puts in a low cross for Kris Commons who dispatches a corker of a shot high into the net from eight yards. What a superb finish!

  57. Post update

    Celtic 1-0 Fenerbahce

    Fenerbahce fans
Image caption: Fenerbahce need the backing of their fans even more now that Celtic are in front
  58. GOAL

    Celtic 1-0 Fenerbahce (Griffiths)

Leigh Griffiths produces a lovely mixture of alertness, determination and athleticism to put Celtic in front. Kris Commons's corner from the right swings in to Mikael Lustig who glances a header to Griffiths. His first effort is saved superbly by Fenerbahce goalkeeper Fabiano but parried only as far as the Scotland international who contorts his body to fire home.

  59. Post update

    Celtic 0-0 Fenerbahce

Kris Commons had a say in Celtic's goals in the match against Frank de Boer's Ajax in Amsterdam. Here in Glasgow he is known for his shooting ability, but it evaporated when the ball came his way a moment ago and he crunched a shot wide.

  60. Post update

    Celtic 0-0 Fenerbahce

James Forrest tucks a pass into the feet of Swedish full-back Mikael Lustig but his shot is deflected wide for a corner from which Stefan Johansen has the chance to burst the net with a pile-driver from 18 yards. He certainly gives it some welly but it is struck too high.

  61. Post update

    Celtic 0-0 Fenerbahce

Elsewhere in Group A, Ajax are back on level terms with Molde. It's now 1-1.

  62. YELLOW CARD

    Celtic 0-0 Fenerbahce

Raul Meireles can hardly complain at being booked by Danish referee Kenn Hansen for hacking down Celtic winger James Forrest out on the left. Kris Commons swings in the free-kick, which the Fenerbahce keeper punches clear.

  63. Post update

    Celtic 0-0 Fenerbahce

BBC reporter Richard Wilson at Celtic Park

"Celtic have endured a period of Fenerbahçe pressure, but they have built their own attacking moments so far as well. Nether side has taken full command, but Celtic's organisation and work rate has been promising. Kieran Tierney, too, has not looked fazed."

  64. Post update

  70. Post update

    Celtic 0-0 Fenerbahce

This is the sort of Celtic Park evening when a fox could run across the pitch. It happened before on such a night and, unless I'm mistaken, the wee thing caused all sorts of hilarity as it raced this way and that...until it came face to face with Celtic enforcer Roy Aitken. Then it left.

  71. Post update

    BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson

"Celtic will not feel daunted playing at their home ground, particularly on a European night, but they will face a Fenerbahçe side full of international players. The visiting fans are a vibrant presence, too, so Celtic will need to take command of the occasion, even if they would normally assume that right at Celtic Park. A similar demand will be made of the teenage left-back Kieran Tierney, who replaces the suspended Emilio Izaguirre in a defence that Robin van Persie will look to take advantage of given that it is not a settled, time-served back four."

"We are confident. We know that we can play good football. The most important thing is we know what we need to do for a good performance. We need that intensity for 90 minutes. It's a much more experienced team than Ajax. It is a team put together for now, to win things. We are going to do everything we can to make trouble for Fenerbahce. We took an away point against Ajax. If we win we are in a good position. They are a good team but we see weaknesses that we can exploit."

  84. Post update

BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson at Celtic Park

"Nani has just done his version of the Ronnie Roar with the Fenerbahçe fans as he warms up. The visitors already making some noise at Celtic Park."

  85. Post update

So, Robin van Persie plays from the start for the side from Istanbul. I wonder if he scores if he will rush towards Fenerbahce coach Vitor Pereira for a high-five? Another of the visitors' big earners, Nani, is also in the starting XI.
