  5. FULL-TIME

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

After such an explosive start you may have expected more from this game.

Bobby Zamora's tap in after 58 seconds gave Brighton the lead before Andre Gray's penalty levelled matters just three minutes later.

Scott Arfield went close a couple of times for the hosts in a second half of few real chances so a point a piece looking more than fair.

  6. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Burnley launch a free-kick from the halfway line into the box but Brighton have yellow shirts swarming everywhere to stop anything coming of it.

    Joey Barton
  7. INJURY TIME

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Three more minutes is the signal at Turf Moor.

  8. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Was that the chance to win the game for Burnley?

The excellent Tendayi Darikwa digs out of a cross from the right and it falls to Chris Long on the edge of the six yard box and he pokes a toe at it but it drifts wide.

  9. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Burnley have certainly looked more likely to nick a winner here.

Ben Mee's long ball though is easily dealt with by Liam Rosenior.

  10. YELLOW CARD

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Superb hold up play by Andre Gray showing the other side of his attacking play rather than just finishing. As he rolls Lewis Dunk the Brighton defender swings a leg at him and is booked.

  11. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Burnley right-back Tendayi Darikwa, who has been marauding down the wing all afternoon, beats his man twice down the right wing but just as he is about to deliver the ball is stolen off him.

  12. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

From Joey Barton's resultant free-kick, Brighton let the ball bounce in the area as it curls out of play with no one able to get a touch on it.

  13. YELLOW CARD

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Gordon Greer takes one for the team there. Burnley are looking to break and he stops the attack by holding back Andre Gray.

  14. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

A Brighton corner is headed out but only as far as full-back Bruno. His first time volley hits a yellow shirt and goes harmlessly wide.

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Elvis Manu comes on for the hard working Tomer Hemed.

  16. CLOSE!

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Scott Arfield goes even closer this time.

An excellent break by Andre Gray down the right and his low cross is unable to find Chris Long on the six yard box, but steaming in is Arfield who tries to pass it into the far corner but it is inches wide.

    Scott Arfield
  17. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Good work by Brighton full-back Bruno to steal the ball from Scott Arfield high up the pitch.

However he is let down by his team mates as they lose the ball easily.

  18. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

David Jones whips in another excellent corner from the right with his left foot.

Brighton's defence are equal to it thought and they head it away and take control of the ball.

  19. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Some early winter sunshine is now out at Turf Moor.

We do love talking about the weather in this country of course, but it gives you an idea of the action currently on offer that I'm discussing that rather than the football.

Both teams are finding it hard to work anything in the final third right now.

  20. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Solly March has impressed in fits and starts this afternoon but he cuts isside around three players from his right wing on his stronger left foot, but as he tries it for a fourth time he slips and falls over. Much to the delight of the home faithful.

  21. CLOSE!

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Scott Arfield gets a chance out of nothing.

Some incisive passing finally from Burnley and it falls to Arfield who, first time, blasted it with his right foot but it curls just wide of the post.

  22. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

If it stays as a draw at full-time, Brighton will go level on points with Hull at the top of the Championship while Burnley will be two points behind them remaining fifth on goal difference.

  23. YELLOW CARD

Ben Mee becomes the second player to be booked. The Burnley full-back is penalised for a clumsy challenge on Gordon Greer.

  24. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Cries of "come on Burnley" come out from the home fans.

They know their team are second best at the moment.

    Joey Barton
  25. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Brighton's recent pressure continues and Beram Kayal strikes in space from 25 yards out but his effort is always rising. Can the Seagulls make this pressure pay?

  26. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Brighton work themselves into a good position on the edge of the Burnley box but when the shot comes in the Clarets fly forward looking to counter attack.

Scott Arfield is unable to keep the ball though and Chris Hughton's side regain possession. They have certainly had the better of the last five minutes.

  27. SUBSTITUTION

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

That is the last bit of action for Bobby Zamora whose goal after 58 seconds sparked that frantic opening few minutes. England Under-21 international Jake Forster-Caskey replaces him.

  28. Post update

    Steve Claridge

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Quote Message: It's just too high for March. He's got to make that run to get inside the full-back, but by doing that he's got under the ball."
  29. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Inches away for Brighton from creating a superb chance.

Bobby Zamora gets in down the left and cuts inside before standing up the ball towards the back post where Solly March is coming in. The Seagulls winger is just under the ball though and unable to make contact.

  30. SUBSTITUTION

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Rouwen Hennings' wait for a first Burnley goal goes on as he is brought off for summer signing Chris Long.

He played with Andre Gray and Brentford last season, can those two combine for the hosts?

  31. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Just a slight lull in the game as Brighton hold onto possession.

A few tasty challenges go in from either side in the middle of the park but referee Simon Hooper is happy to allow play to continue.

    Tomer Hemed
  32. Post update

    Steve Claridge

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Quote Message: Nobody's taking too many risks and you can understand why. It's a big game for both these teams."
  33. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

The free-kick comes to nothing and the ball is hacked onto the roof of a stand at Turf Moor.

As play continues, that ball is caught by the television cameras rolling back off the stand and it comes onto the field of play so the referee is forced to stop the game as we have two balls on the pitch for a moment.

No multi ball action allowed of course... unfortunately.

  34. YELLOW CARD

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

A lazy challenge from Solly March and he is the first booking of the afternoon.

Tracking back to the overlapping Ben Mee he trips the Burnley full-back and referee Simon Hooper shows him the card.

Clarets free-kick from the left wing....

  35. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

    Bobby Zamora

Brighton finally manage to work themselves towards the Burnley penalty area.

Bobby Zamora shows good strength to win the ball again but eventually the move peters out to nothing.

  36. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Michael Keane attacks the ball at the front post from David Jones' corner and it looks as if he should have done better as he holds his head in his hands afterwards.

Burnley still well forward at the moment though as Brighton are struggling to get out of their own half.

  37. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Burnley certainly on top after the break.

Tendayi Darikwa attempts a cross with the outside of his boot from the right wing but it is headed away with a number of claret shirts inside the box.

  38. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

First chance of the second half goes to the hosts.

Rouwen Hennings nods it into the path of the on rushing George Boyd but from a long way out his effort is always sailing over.

  39. KICK-OFF

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

No changes at half time and Brighton get us going again.

Can they make the same blistering start as the first half?

  40. Final words

    HT: Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Both managers are striding across Turf Moor to their respective dug outs having had their say at the break, the players are out and we're nearly ready for the second period.

  41. Gossip

    HT: Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson for mayor? Cristiano Ronaldo returning to the Premier League? West Brom taunting Piers Morgan?

If you are just about coming to life on Sunday morning and have missed some of the newspaper headline, you can read about all those stories, and many more, in today's edition of the gossip column.

  42. The first 45 minutes

    HT: Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Despite being the away side Brighton have edged possession in the first half at Turf Moor as well as having more shots.

Can Burnley ask some more questions of the Seagulls' defence in the second half?

    Stats
  43. Saturday's action

    HT: Burnley 1-1 Brighton

    Coventry players

Time for a break away from Turf Moor while we wait for the second half to get under way.

It was the first real wintry day of football across the country yesterday and if you were wrapped up in layers at a game you may have not caught some of the tales from the Football League.

Don't fret, BBC Sport takes a look at some of the things you may have missed as a former FA Cup-winning club climbed to the top of League One and another team ended a run of eight successive defeats in dramatic style.

  44. HALF-TIME

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

So, both goals inside the opening four minutes in what has been an entertaining half of football.

Bobby Zamora tucked home his 178th career goal a the back post on 58 seconds after Tomer Hemed had hit the crossbar.

Andre Gray levelled from the spot just three minutes later after Michael Keane was adjudged to have been pulled back by Lewis Dunk.

There have been plenty of chances and both sides will fancy themselves to win this game.

  45. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Again a ball into the Burnley box and again one of the Brighton strikers manage to work themselves a chance.

Spanish full-back Bruno curls it towards the back post and Bobby Zamora muscles himself into position to make a clean connection but it is a couple of metres over the crossbar off his head.

  46. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

A few ironic cheers go up from the home fans as Brighton are forced to hit the ball long from defence. Burnley's pressing so far has been excellent and they are forcing the Seagulls to go long at times.

I wonder what Sean Dyche has made of this first half?

    Sean Dyche
  47. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

A couple of frantic moments in the Burnley box as they struggle to cope with a Brighton ball in.

Dale Stephens has a couple of half swipes towards goal before it is eventually hacked away.

  48. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

An unorthodox punch out by David Stockdale eventually reaches Joey Barton and  Burnley midfielder winds up his right foot but his strike his a team mate on the way to goal and Brighton have a goal-kick.

  49. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Another chance for Burnley as George Boyd lays in Andre Gray on the right side of the box.

His first time shot looks as if it is heading for the bottom corner but Gordon Greer recovers well to stop the ball.

    Corner to the Clarets...

  50. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

George Boyd and Tendayi Darikwa are combining really well down the right and Boyd's dangerous cross is just unable to find anyone in a Claret shirt.

It's possibly not quite Gary Neville and David Beckham levels on the right, but those two have a clear understanding of how the other one plays.

  51. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Tomer Hemed and Bobby Zamora combine again but the latter just strays offside and Burnley can reorganise.

The former QPR, Fulham and West Ham striker has not played 90 minutes since April, can he last the whole 90 minutes today?

  52. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

    Clever football from Burnley.

First Scott Arfield finds some space in behind the strikers and lays in George Boyd. The wideman twists and turns in the box before laying up Tendayi Darikwa for the cross but Brighton get a foot in and clear.

  53. Post update

    Steve Claridge

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Quote Message: We've got two good sides so there's not going to be a lot between the two. It's a watchable game, you can see the quality. It's one that could go either way."
  54. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

The free flowing nature of the opening of the match has disappeared now and it has turned into a much more attritional affair.

Brighton are getting a lot of joy from their two big front men while Burnley are looking to break quickly when they can.

Bobby Zamora hasn't seen that much of the ball since his first-minute goal for the Seagulls.

    Brighton celebrate
  55. Post update

    Steve Claridge

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Quote Message: He takes forever and a day. He's got to hit that first time. He lets it bounce and takes far too long."
  56. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Tomer Hemed turns provider now when his header falls to Jamie Murphy, but the midfielder can only find fresh air as he swings his left boot at the ball.

  57. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Bobby Zamora and Tomer Hemed combine again, but the Isreal striker's shot is blocked at the edge of the area.

That physical presence up top is causing Burnley some problems at the moment.

  58. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Brighton respond by creating a good chance of their own.

Full-back Bruno delivers a curling cross from the right but Bobby Zamora has to stretch backwards slightly before forcing his header at goal and Tom Heaton is relatively untroubled gathering the ball.

  59. GREAT SAVE!

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Rouwen Hennings comes so close to opening his Burnley account.

George Boyd's tempting cross comes in from the right and he pokes his left leg at it, but David Stockdale lifts his right arm instinctively and keeps the scores level.

  60. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Ben Mee and Scott Arfield work a good position on the left for Burnley, but the full-back is unable to dig out a cross.

Brighton clear and work the ball upfield but Tomer Hemed's cushioned header in the box comes to nothing.

    Ben Mee
  61. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Brighton just enjoy some possession between the midfield and defence, slowing the game down for the first time.

After that frantic start, it has been a whole 12 minutes since we've had a goal...

    Burnley celebrate
  62. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Brighton have a free-kick themselves now but Solly March is unable to find any of his compatriots in a yellow shirt and it drifts out for a goal-kick.

  63. Post update

    Steve Claridge

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Quote Message: I thought that was a very decent ball in from David Jones. I wonder why no one tried to get on the end of it?"
  64. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Another chance carved out by Burnley.

A free-kick from the right wing is whipped in viciously by David Jones but none of his team can get a touch and it is gathered into the chest by David Stockdale.

  65. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

The Brighton front two combine for the first time properly this afternoon as Bobby Zamora nods down from Tomer Hemed but the Isreal forward smashes his effort well over.

  66. Get Involved at #bbcfootball

  67. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Burnley winger George Boyd very nearly catches David Stockdale out from a long range free-kick now.

It is at least 30 yards but the Clarets' wideman catches the ball sweetly, driving it in low and Stockdale does just about enough to push it wide.

  68. Burnley 1-1 Brighton

If you thought those two goals might settle the game down you'd be wrong.

Brighton's Solly March gets into a good position inside the area but his shot is straight at Tom Heaton, but moments later Burnley find themselves in a decent position in the Seagulls box.

End to end stuff at the moment.

  69. GOAL (Gray)

    Burnley 1-1 Brighton

    Was it in any doubt?

The Championship's top scorer Andre Gray is as cool as you like from the spot to notch his 11th goal of the season.

This game promised much and what a start we've had.

    Andre Gray
  70. PENALTY TO BURNLEY

    Burnley 0-1 Brighton

The referee spots Michael Keane being manhandled by Lewis Dunk inside the Brighton area and Andre Gray can level from the spot...

  71. GOAL (Zamora)

    Burnley 0-1 Brighton

First attack and first goal, what a start for Brighton.

They work the ball down the right and a scuffed shot falls to Tomer Hemed, who on the spin hits the ball against the ground and it richochets off the crossbar.

It falls kindly to at the back post to Bobby Zamora who turns it home after just 57 seconds.

  72. Kick-off

After a superbly observed minute's silence to remember the victims of the Paris attacks, Burnley get us off and running in your final action from the Football League this weekend.

Tom Heaton leads Burnley out at Turf Moor to a warm round of applause under grey skies.

Brighton, with returning skipper Gordon Greer, will be playing in their change strip today which is described as vibrant 'volt' yellow on their website. There will be no excuse for missed passes, put it that way.
