  1. Goodbye

    FT: Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

So despite their financial worries, Bolton head into the New Year with three points and a first win in 18 games thanks to Gary Madine.

Work head for Paul Lambert, but with his first transfer window about to open at Blackburn you would imagine he might be given room to bring in some players.

If you missed anything today, you can read the run down on Steve Marshall's match report.

Thanks for your company this afternoon.

    FT: Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: That is a huge win for Bolton and could be just the tonic that Neil Lennon needed at such a crucial time of the season. Can they now go on and get themselves to safety?

    Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Bolton have beaten Blackburn thanks to a wonderful goal from Gary Madine.

A hugely entertaining Lancashire derby and the Wanderers have a second win of the season. They still sit bottom of the table but that will be a massive relief to Neil Lennon and everyone who follows the club.

Tom Lawrence hit the post late on for Rovers who played their part in an open match.

    Gary Madine
  9. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Liam Feeney wins a free-kick for Bolton battling with Marcus Olsson on the halfway line and is that enough for Bolton to secure three points?

  10. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Nathan Delfouneso's cross is headed out to Liam Feeney but the Bolton winger loses possession.

Chris Taylor has a couple of goes at getting the ball in but it is blocked and then hacked away.

    Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

    So, so close for Blackburn...

Ben Marshall's drive, Chris Taylor sets up Tom Lawrence but his shot takes a deflection and hits the post but bounces back into the arms of Ben Amos.

That was almost in slow motion as it went towards goal.

    Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Another five minutes to be added on here... where has that come from?

No bother, another five minutes to enjoy!

Zach Clough and Blackburn Rovers Danny Guthrie
  13. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

One way traffic right now with only Jason Steele inside the Blackburn half.

Ben Marshall's stretching foul though gives Bolton a relieving free-kick away.

    Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Chris Taylor on for Adam Henley, the man whose hand Josh Vela's strike hit, for Blackburn.

Can the forward inspire something for the visitors?

  15. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

    Another Blackburn half chance.

The free-kick comes in and Grant Hanley's header takes a deflection on its way towards goal but Ben Amos is alert enough to change direction and take the ball in.

  16. CLOSE!

    Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Bolton charge forward on the counter attack now with space in behind.

The cross comes in from the right and Josh Vela smashes it in first time, it hits the hand of the Blackburn defender as it looked to be heading towards goal - that touch sends it just wider for a corner and the referee ignores the penalty appeals.

  17. GOAL (O'Brien)

    Southend 0-4 Millwall

It's turning into a rout in League One as Millwall score their fourth at Roots Hall.

This time, Steve Morison holds the ball up brilliantly before playing in his strike partner Aiden O'Brien who slots home calmly.

This would end a run of three straight League One defeats for Neil Harris' side.

  18. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

    Neil Lennon

Another view of the Gary Madine goal it was such a good volley on the spin to give Bolton the lead.

Right now though they are having to withstand a number of Bolton attacks, with the management feel the need to change things up?

  19. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Bolton sitting deeper and deeper at the moment.

Paul Lambert's side are parked in the Wanderers half and have two corners, the second of which Grant Hanley heads over.

  20. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

Tom Lawrence opts for power over placement on the edge of the six yard box and it flies over the crossbar from Craig Conway's right wing cross.

Blackburn throwing longs of red shirts forward for the final 10 minutes or so.

  21. Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: Gary Madine backed into Shane Duffy, he used his strength, controlled the ball on his chest and set himself for the perfect volley. It was a brilliant finish from Madine.
Gary Madine scores past Shane Duffy
  22. GOAL (Madine)

    Bolton 1-0 Blackburn

What a stunning goal from Gary Madine!

Another long throw from Bolton as Dean Moxey launches it in and Madine controls it up on his chest and then in one movement spins around to prod it home.

His fourth goal of the season but could the Wanderers be heading into 2016 with a second win of the campaign?

    Gary Madine

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

You don't expect this with Blackburn chasing a winner.

Rovers top scorer Jordan Rhodes is taken off and Tom Lawrence replaces him.

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Zach Clough

Zach Clough has again looked the brightest spark for Bolton today.

He smartly turns on the halfway line but Shane Duffy hacks him down and is the latest player to be shown a yellow card.

    Both teams preparing substitutions...

  25. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Zach Clough and Gary Madine combining well for Bolton inside the opposition area but Madine's left-footed strike is really weak and is easily gobbled up by Jason Steele.

Bolton are the lowest scorers in the Championship this season with 18 goals in 24 games... so far.

  26. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Ben Marshall with an excellent drive down the left wing before putting up a cross to attack.

Bolton keeper Ben Amos comes to gather but spill under pressure, however his defenders help him clear upfield.

  27. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Blackburn have looked dangerous from a couple of set pieces this afternoon.

A corner this time and Shane Duffy is put under pressure to head over the Bolton bar.

    Blackburn stat
  28. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Bolton have really got an alternative weapon from their full-backs as Dean Moxey joins Rob Holding in chucking in a long throw.

As Blackburn heads it out, Zach Clough cannot get his strike through the laces and it loops up and over.

  29. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: Blackburn are the side providing the attacking threat going forward, but Bolton are still showing great energy.
Zach Clough and Blackburn Rovers Grant Hanley
  30. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

More Blackburn pressure and after Ben Marshall's shot is blocked it falls to left-back Marcus Olsson.

His clean strike though is only a yard away from Ben Amos and the former Manchester United trainee gathers calmly.

  31. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

The tempo of the first half has reared its head and we've got a really good game here, Gary Madine heading over a right wing cross now for the hosts.

Off the pitch, former Bolton striker Dean Holdsworth's at the Macron Stadium today. He's reportedly leading a consortium to buy the Wanderers who are £172.9m in debt.

Dean Holdsworth is in the stands
  32. And elsewhere...

We're back under way in League One at Roots Hall where Millwall lead Southend 3-0.

  33. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Bolton Wanderers Zach Clough and Blackburn Rovers Shane Duffy

At the other end Zach Clough gets himself running at the last Blackburn defender.

He drops a couple of shoulders to try and work a yard of space but is forced to shift the ball onto his weaker left foot and it's a tame effort into the side netting.

  34. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

It's been all Rovers for the past couple of minutes.

Craig Conway and Doneil Henry combine well down the right again but after a couple of crosses it falls to Hope Akpan who smashes over.

  35. CLOSE!

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Shane Duffy with Blackburn's best effort of the game.

After Dean Moxey is booked for his sliding challenge on Craig Conway, the Blackburn winger gets up to curl the ball into the box and finds the glancing head of Duffy but it goes a couple of yards wide.

  36. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: I felt there was a foul much earlier than when Mark Davies went over. He was pulled back but then decided to fall over without much contact. The referee should have seen the initial tug on his shirt.
  37. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Nearly a comedy of errors between Bolton pair Ben Amos and Prince Gouano.

Gouano tries to just hold off the advancing Blackburn attackers and as Amos runs out to smash the ball clear it goes straight into Prince but out into touch.

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Moments later, Hope Akpan joins Mark Davies in the book for scything down Josh Vela. No doubt about that one.

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Mark Davies is the first to go in the book in the Lancashire derby.

He takes a backheel into the box, his touch is heavy and then with two players going down he collapses a little too easy for the referee and is booked from simulation.

  40. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

We're yet to break into some of the free flowing football of the first half.

Bolton enjoying the majority of possession the opening stages of this 45 minutes though.

  41. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Couple of efforts for Liam Feeney.

His first effort is left-footed and cannons back off the defender, but the Bolton winger then strikes with his stronger right foot over the bar.

  42. KICK-OFF

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Zach Clough and Mark Davies get the second half under way.

Clough immediately drives towards Blackburn, trying to catch the visitors out, but he's stopped about 30 yards from goal.

  43. Get Involved

    HT: Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

So what have you made of the Lancashire derby so far?

Are Bolton heading for just a second win of the season? Have Blackburn failed to get Jordan Rhodes in the game?

Whatever your opinion we'd love to hear your thoughts using #bbcfootball.

  44. GOAL (Onyedinma)

    Southend 0-3 Millwall

Right on the stroke of half-time Millwall look like they've already sewn up the three points away at Southend in League One.

The hosts only half-clear a corner and Steve Morison finds some space in the area to fire in a shot which goalkeeper Dan Bentley can only parry into the grateful path of Fred Onyedinma, who tucks home.

The ref blows his half-time whistle and Southend have it all to do. Ruthless from Millwall.

  45. Story of the half

    HT: Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

While Spiderman and Batman entertain the crowd at half-time in Bolton, I kid you not, these at the stats from the first 45 minutes.

This game at the Macron Stadium is the first of seven in the Championship today, while there are eight in the Premier League later on this afternoon.

You can follow of the goals and incidents as they happen with BBC Sport later, while the build up has already begun here.

  47. HT: Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: It's been a really good half. Bolton should be in front but Blackburn have come into the game but haven't created a true opening apart from Jordan Rhodes late in the half.
  48. GOAL (Cummings)

    Southend 0-2 Millwall

What a freak goal we've just had in League One!

Millwall defender Shaun Cummings overhits a cross into the Southend area and has goalkeeper Dan Bentley scrambling backwards.

The ball then hits the post and goes in via a touch from Bentley. He will not want to see that one again and it might even be classed as an own goal...

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

An entertaining half with endeavour and purpose from both sides.

Bolton's Zach Clough went closest to opening the scoring when he struck the post, with Gary Madine then wasting an opportunity with the follow-up.

Ben Marshall's had a couple of long-range strikes for Blackburn, with Danny Guthrie's close-range effort that went over probably the best of their efforts.

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Bangaly-Fode Koita is hobbling badly so Nathan Delfouneso is sent on to partner Jordan Rhodes.

It's Delfouneso's first appearance under Paul Lambert, time to make a good impression.

  51. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: You expect Jordan Rhodes to score in that position but Bolton's players got round to make the block.
  52. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Josh Vela again caught in possession, but he might have had a tug on his back.

Blackburn steal it, charge forward and Craig Conway lays in Jordan Rhodes but Darren Pratley and Prince Gouano both throw their bodies at his shot, and it hits Pratley to stop it heading towards goal.

  53. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Liam Feeney, again, looking like Bolton's best attacking outlet.

A long ball over the top puts him behind the Blackburn defence but his drilled cross is too far ahead of the advancing Gary Madine who was the only Trotters player in support.

  54. GOAL (Martin)

    Southend 0-1 Millwall

After what has been a pretty poor opening, Millwall have the lead at Roots Hall against Southend in League One.

Lions defender Joe Martin's effort goes in off the post, but Shrimpers boss Phil Brown is not happy - he is claiming the ball went out of play in the build up.

  55. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Bangaly-Fode Koita wins an excellent flick on to his strike partner Jordan Rhodes, but the Scotland international cries out in frustration as he loses the ball.

Just one goal in eight games for the usually prolific Rhodes and he hasn't had much of a sniff so far.

  56. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

This game has been bubbling along nicely in terms of some meaningful challenges.

Bolton captain Darren Pratley and Blackburn's Hope Akpan the latest to clash in the centre of the pitch.

  57. And elsewhere

We're midway through the first half at Roots Hall as Southend host Millwall in the Football League's other early kick-off and it remains goalless.

Neither side have managed an effort on target yet in what has been quite a scrappy opening in League One.

  58. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Both teams are getting some joy down the right today.

Craig Conway with a couple of bursts down the right for Blackburn and gets over a cross but David Wheater and Prince Gouano have marshalled the Bolton defence pretty well so far and deal with it.

Bengadli-Fode Koita, Bolton Wanderers Rob Holding and Prince-Desir Gouano d
  59. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Chance for Blackburn and it comes from a Josh Vela error.

They press the Bolton midfielder high up the pitch, Hope Akpan steals it off him and feeds Craig Conway but his cross cannot beat the first man and the hosts clear.

  60. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Another push on Gary Madine, but this time it's Shane Duffy's centre-back partner Grant Hanley.

Bolton have a free-kick a good 35 yards out on the right wing and Dean Moxey's left foot curls it just over the advancing runners.

  61. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: Other than Jordan Rhodes you wonder where the Blackburn goals are going to come from consistently. Without Rhodes they have got technically very good players but where is the killer instinct?
    Paul Lambert

One for Rovers boss Paul Lambert to consider with the January transfer window just around the corner.

  62. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

More joy for Bolton winger Liam Feeney down the right.

His deep cross finds Gary Madine at the back post and he nods it back into the six yard box, but no one reads his cushioned header and Blackburn clear.

  63. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Quote Message: The neutral will be watching this game which is live on television and asking 'why are Bolton bottom of the league?' They've been so much improved so far. from Former Bolton striker John McGinlay BBC Radio Manchester
Former Bolton striker John McGinlayBBC Radio Manchester

You can't argue with 'Super' John McGinlay.

Bolton have played with some real purpose so far this afternoon, with Zach Clough hitting the post and then Gary Madine's follow up their best efforts so far.

    Gary Madine
  64. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Danny Guthrie will be disappointed with his strike here.

Bolton fail to clear a corner twice and the ball falls kindly to the midfielder but his rasping shot flies over the bar from about 10 yards out.

  65. And elsewhere...

We also have an early kick-off in League One today, with Southend hosting Milllwall.

With just over 10 minutes gone at Roots Hall it remains goalless.

  66. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

End to end stuff right now, with both teams looking dangerous on the counter attack.

First Bolton's Liam Feeney has a dart down the right but his stood up cross is just over everyone. From the throw out, Craig Conway races up the pitch but is tackled as he reaches the edge of the area.

  67. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Bolton now with some defending to do of their own.

A succession of Blackburn crosses come in at David Wheater, who booms a couple of headers away.

  68. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Neil Lennon

Liam Feeney's delivery is towards Rob Holding but Blackburn's defence holds out to clear.

It's been a much improved performance so far from Neil Lennon's side.

  69. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

A driving run from Darren Pratley sets Bolton up for another attack.

Josh Vela's strike from way out is deflected and the corner will allow some more Wanderers pressure...

  70. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Young right-back Rob Holding as a big throw on him and he throw a couple down the down the touchline before appeals for handball inside the Blackburn box.

Gary Madine fouled though and Rovers have a free-kick.

  71. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Blackburn now just taking the sting out of the recent Bolton pressure and have enjoyed a good bit of possession.

Ben Marshall has another go from outside the box but slices across it horribly and it's no way near testing Ben Amos.

  72. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Bolton are not playing like a team sat rooted to the bottom of the Championship.

There's lots of energy and purpose in this performance, Liam Feeney fizzing in a cross low now the latest of the attacks.

  73. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Quote Message: How they haven't scored there I don't know. Zach Clough does so well to get across his man and hits the post and then Gary Madine can't sort his feet out. He should be scoring there. Bolton should be 1-0 up.

    Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Gary Madine shoots

How have Bolton not scored here?!

A brilliant cross from Dean Moxey finds a stretching Zach Clough whose effort hits the post.

It comes out to Gary Madine who takes a touch and scuffs a shot which is cleared off the line by Marcus Olsson.

  75. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    Nothing bothering with that corner.

As it's cleared, Shane Duffy clatters through the back of Gary Madine and Bolton have a free-kick just inside the Blackburn half.

  76. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

    All Rovers at the minute.

Good link-up play between Ben Marshall and Marcus Olsson sees the Swedish full-back deliver to the far post but Bolton head it out for a corner...

  77. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

First effort of the match and it goes to Blackburn.

A good bit of skill from Ben Marshall but the winger's drive from outside the box is a couple of yards over the bar.

  78. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

First chance for Liam Feeney to run at the Blackburn defence and he carries the ball well to the right wing position but his cross is poor.

  79. Bolton 0-0 Blackburn

Nothing to report in the opening exchanges with some neat passing from either side in the middle.

The pitch has the look of beginning to turn in the winter months with one or two slightly bare patches.

  80. KICK-OFF

    Bolton v Blackburn (12:45 GMT)

    Macron Stadium

Good afternoon and welcome to your first football offering of the day throughout England.

It's a Lancashire derby at the Macron Stadium as financially-troubled Bolton look for some festive cheer with just a second win of the season, but they face a Blackburn side who have made an encouraging start under Paul Lambert.

With this the last game of 2015 for these two, who can end the year on a high?
