So, wins for Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. The race to be crowned champions of La Liga is shaping up to be another exciting title race but who can stop Barcelona? Many thanks for your company. See you in 2016.
- Barcelona return to the top
- Atletico Madrid tied with Barca on 38 points
- Real Madrid 3-1 Real Sociedad
So, how does La Liga look going into 2016.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are locked on 38 points but Barca top the table and have a game in hand.
Real Madrid are third on 36 points.
Barcelona finish a magnificent 2015 on top of La Liga.
Two minutes of additional time.
Next up for Barcelona? Espanyol away on Saturday. I bet they can't wait...
Three minutes of normal time remaining. This has been another master-class by Barca. Few would bet against them winning another five trophies in 2016 on this evidence.
Lionel Messi...Neymar....Luis Suarez....back of the net. Another wonderful move by Barca ends in a fourth goal. Suarez deserves that for his efforts. It came after Neymar's mis-hit flick bobbled and fell to the former Liverpool man.
Ten minutes left before Betis' nightmare is over.
Luis Enrique will be delight at ending 2015 at the top of La Liga but he will also be mystified why his team is not further ahead. Astonishing attacking play by Barca.
Barcelona hit the woodwork - for the fourth time!
You know the scenario by now..free-kick, Messi, ball thunders off the bar.
I lost count long ago of how many chances Barca have had. They've just had two more in the space of a minute - Dani Alves' lob comes back off the crossbar before Suarez is clean through and can't finish. This could easily have been double figures.
The mood inside the Nou Camp is in stark contrast to that in the Bernabeu earlier. Real Madrid might have won but the natives aren't happy. Barca's fans are out of their seats applauding every attack. And the man on the drum is whipping up a frenzy.
Free-kick to Barca. Messi or Neymar? It's Messi...and he brings a finger-tip save from Antonio Adan who pushes it on to the bar.
The Betis defence has all but given up. A long ball finds Neymar is acres of space inside the penalty area before a last-ditch challenge denies the Brazilian a certain goal.
Bad news for Betis. There's still another 25 minutes left.
Incredible. Neymar to Messi whose point-blank shot is blocked. Seconds later Neymar hits the post with Betis's defence all over the place. Then Messi brings a great save. Betis players look as though they want the final whistle already.
Sergio Busquets' night is complete. He goes off to a rousing reception and on comes Marc Bartra to join the party.
Exhibition stuff by the world, European and Spanish champions. Messi to Suarez to Messi to Neymar...it's a delight to watch.
It's just a matter of how many Barca rattle up now. Betis' defence has been decimated by injuries and they are struggling badly against Messi, Neymar and Suarez.
Barca are turning on the style. Lionel Messi with the outside of his foot sends Luis Suarez clear again but the Uruguay striker cannot control the ball and the chance is gone. Brilliant pass.
A quite incredible statistic. Suarez's goal was a record 179th in a calendar year for Barcelona. Wow.
This could get messy for Betis. The second half is 55 seconds old when Sergio Busquets threads a terrific defence-splitting ball for Luis Suarez to slot low past the advancing keeper. Game over.
There are 83,630 inside the Nou Camp. We're back under way
It must be the stuff of dreams to join Barcelona.
Yet within hours of signing for the club's reserve team, forward Sergi Guardiola was sacked after officials were alerted to "offensive tweets" he had posted two years ago about Barca and Catalonia.
Guardiola, 24, joined Barcelona B on Monday but according to Marca , the Spanish national daily sport newspaper, his contract was terminated "some hours later" when they became aware of pro-Real Madrid tweets, including offensive language about Catalans.
Guardiola started this season at Madrid-based club Alcorcon in Spain's second tier.
There is one more game in La Liga in 2015 after tonight. Gary Neville says it is time for his players to show the "real Valencia" as he seeks his first La Liga win as boss.
Valencia are without a win in five league games and are away to Villarreal on Thursday before hosting Real Madrid on 3 January.
"I'm still comfortable we can have a very good season," said Neville, who has overseen three successive draws. It's time for us to get results that go with our efforts. We need to see the rewards of the work we've done."
There will be text commentary of Valencia's game on the BBC Sport website.
Two minutes of added time.
Barcelona are heading back to the top of La Liga after a penalty that shouldn't have been and a goal from a player who looked as though his night had come to an end.
This is a night to forget for Betis. They have lost a second player to injury. Defender Heiko Westermann, who scored the own goal, cannot continue after a challenge and is replaced by Dider Digard.
A great chance for Luis Suarez to make it 3-0...but he somehow fires into the side netting when it was easier to score.
What an incredible passage of play. Betis looked comfortable before falling victim to a poor penalty decision. Lionel Messi is forced off for treatment and then scores moments after coming back on.
Pepe Mel is still livid with the referee for awarding the penalty and has been sent to sit in the stand.
