  1. Farewell

So, Italy are up and running. Another fine game at Euro 2016 is over. This is turning into a decent tournament.

Many thanks for your company. Tuesday's offering includes Cristiano Ronaldo's Portgual against Iceland in Saint-Etienne at 20:00 BST. Before that we have live text commentary of Austria against Hungary from Bordeaux (17:00 BST).

    Until then...

  2. Post update

    Belgium 0-2 Italy

    Gianluca Vialli

Former Italy striker on BBC One

The Italian defenders love defending. It's difficult for coaches to find the right balance between discipline and freedom and with Belgium there is too much freedom.

  3. Post update

    Belgium 0-2 Italy

    Rio Ferdinand

Former England defender on BBC One

That was a perfect example of one playing like a team, the other like a group of individuals. What was so impressive is the way they can go from defence to attack so quickly.

  4. 'Italy had perfect game plan'

    Belgium 0-2 Italy

    Gianluca Vialli

Former Italy striker on BBC One

I don't want to brag, but we were almost perfect. We dominated the game, we showed desire and commitment and we played like a team.

We had a perfect game plan. We played the ball to Graziano Pelle's feet for 20 minutes, then we played it wide, and then we played it long to Emanuele Giaccherini for the opening goal.

  5. Story of the game

    Belgium 0-2 Italy

Only one shot on target from Belgium in the second half, courtesy of Eden Hazard. Kind of tells a story.

Edgar-Francis Ighata: The Italians know how to turn up in tournaments.

Tom Geoffrey: Loving the passion from Buffon tonight. Absolutely quality

David Anderson: Italy had that won from the anthems. Such passion. In contrast, Belgians looked bored.

  7. Watch again at Pelle seals the victory

This is well worth watching again as Graziano Pelle's late volley seals the win for Italy.

  8. Post update

    Belgium 0-2 Italy

Italy are one game into a month-long tournament but they celebrated Mark Clattenburg's final whistle as though they had won Euro 2016.

Lots of huddles and dancing on the pitch. Make no mistake, the Azzurri deserved this win and Southampton's Graziano Pelle thoroughly deserved his goal.

  9. 'Belgium disappointed'

    Belgium 0-2 Italy

    Jermaine Jenas

Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Brilliant from Italy again at a major tournament. They defended well and took risks at right time. That goal topped it all off.

Belgium disappointed. They changed formation and looked better but some of those players will have to have a good hard look at themselves because if they play like that they might get caught out again.

  10. FULL-TIME - Belgium 0-2 Italy

Italy are two points clear at the top of Group E.

As for Belgium, they continue to flatter to deceive.

  11. GOAL - Belgium 0-2 Italy

    Graziano Pelle

    All over.

Graziano Pelle has his goal - a superb volley from about 10 yards following a clever pin-point cross by Antonio Candreva.

The Azzurri party has started in Lyon.

  12. Post update

    Belgium 0-1 Italy

Brilliant by Dries Mertens as he leaves an Italy defender trailing in his wake before drilling the ball across the six yard area but there's no red shirt.

Then pinball inside the Italy area. The ball falls for Marouane Fellaini six yards out but as quickly as the ball lands at his feet it is hacked clear.

Are Italy going to finish with 11 men?

Substitute Thiago Motta hasn't been on long but he's in the book for an illegal challenge.

Italy are losing their discipline in these closing moments and Belgium sense there could be something in this for them.

    Thiago Motta

    Belgium 0-1 Italy

A huge chance for Belgium but unmarked substitute Divock Origi can't keep his header down.

The action quickly switches to the other end and Ciro Immobile forces Thibaut Courtois into a brilliant one-handed stop.

Italy's third and final change - Thiago Motta on and Daniele de Rossi off.

Andy Jolley: Italy will be down to 10 men before this game is over. The challenges are flying in!

Michael Newman: The way Italy play I think Conte will be signing Lee Cattermole for Chelsea next year

G?T: Italy man of the match: Tactical Booking.

    Belgium 0-1 Italy

Italy's players are throwing themselves into every challenge and it's becoming a busy night for Mark Clattenburg.

A third yellow card for the Azzurri as Divock Origi's lung-busting run is ended by Leonardo Bonucci, who takes one for the team.

    Belgium 0-1 Italy

Another yellow card for Italy as Eder throws an arm around the neck of Dries Mertens to bring a promising Belgium move to a stop.

It's Eder's last action. He is promptly replaced by Ciro Immobile.

Time for a second Belgium change - Laurent Ciman off and striker Yannick Carrasco on.

  20. Post update

    Belgium 0-1 Italy

    Jermaine Jenas

Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Lukaku has not really done much.

It has been a frustrating evening for Belgium - so much is expected of them and they have been schooled.
