It's all over in Italy. Roma and AC Milan have drawn 1-1 - a result neither team wanted. Fifth-placed Roma, five points behind leaders Inter Milan having played one more game, have won just one in seven while AC Milan, in sixth, have won one in five. 

Top of the table

So, at the end of an absorbing day in La Liga the top of the table looks like this: Barcelona have 42 points from 18 games closely followed by Atletico Madrid one point behind after the same number of matches. Real Madrid, who have played 19, are third with 40 points.

More stats...apparently this is the biggest win for a Real Madrid coach in his first game since 1959. There will be bigger tests to come but take a bow Zinedine Zidane.

Over in Italy

They are still playing in Serie A where Juraj Kucka has equalised for AC Milan away to Roma in a match between two out-of-form teams. Around five minutes remaining.
