  3. Post update

    FT: Watford 0-0 Chelsea

Quique Sanchez Flores speaking to BBC Sport:

"It was very hard to score against Chelsea, we had to stop the offences. They are very physical also but we’re happy with the performance and in the second half it was hard to stop Chelsea but I think we deserved this point."

"Of course, he’s one of our leaders. We support Heurelho, he’s a great leader in the dressing room and on the pitch. I think the career of Heurelho is very long, when someone plays at the high level it must mean they’re a good goalkeeper."

"It’s a very funny journey we’re in the top half, playing with confidence."

  4. "We were never really in it"

    Everton 3-0 Newcastle

Newcastle boss Steve McClaren speaking to BBC Sport: “In the first half we were never really in it. The crowd and the players here were nervous but we did not capitalise on that. Unfortunately we then had injuries in defence which meant we had to reshuffle.

"The new signings will take time to gel. At West Brom we will have 52,000 cheering us on and we will have to show a reaction. We have shown we can react before. Fans want to see fight and we need to show it on Saturday.”

  5. Player reaction

    FT: Watford 0-0 Chelsea

Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes speaking to BBC Sport:

"I believe the goalkeeper has to do things like that [make key saves]. We got a point today against a very good side and I was glad to make a difference.

"I believe we dominated the first half; they are a very good side and getting better all the time. It’s difficult to say [we should win] because they’re below us because they’re such a great side.

"We have to be competitive, it doesn’t matter which team we play, we have to be competitive and that’s what we’re trying."

  8. 'Laughable'

    FT: Watford 0-0 Chelsea

Troy Deeney on Diego Costa spat speaking to BT Sport:

“It’s new age football, a little touch and everyone goes down. The ref spoke to him, and then spoke to him again and I just asked the ref was he going to book him. If he played in Sunday league he’d probably get laughed at.”

  9. Manager reaction

    FT: Watford 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink on Diego Costa:

"It was clear and it front of our eyes, Costa was punched in the back and then he stumbled and brought his hands to his head. I was trying to protect my player because he was provoked .

"This league is physical, when you see our central defenders and our opponents central defenders. He [Costa] likes to go physical but he must do within the rules. Some times players get physical and he has to get used to that."

    On John Terry:

"First we’ll see him often this season, what the future brings is up to him and the club."

  10. Neville out? Not if it's down to him

Remember, Gary Neville's Valencia lost 7 (SEVEN) - 0 to Barcelona this evening.

  11. "It was a mature performance"

    Everton 3-0 Newcastle

Roberto Martinez speaking to BBC Sport about the performance: "It is fair to say we are learning from painful lessons. We started the game well and were strong in all departments. There have been times where opponents score too easily when they come into a game but we were compact today.

The second goal was decisive. Scoring the second goal made it a different game and allowed us to control things. We showed a mature way of playing. Back to back clean sheets now and the team has the intent to please our fans and show what we can do."

  13. "Phenomenal footballer, phenomenal person"

    Everton 3-0 Newcaste

Roberto Martinez speaking to BBC Sport on Ross Barkley: "100 games in the league at 22 is not easy to achieve and he is playing a big role in the team. Phenomenal footballer, phenomenal person.  He took responsibility with both penalties and showed how he is an assured, technical footballer."

  15. Oh dear, oh dear

    Gary Neville's humilation is over.

His Valencia side lose 7-0  to Barcelona in the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey.

  16. Brilliant Barkley

    FT: Everton 3-0 Newcastle

How good does Ross Barkley look at the moment? Very is the answer.

The 22-year-old was making his 100th Premier League appearanc, becoming the second youngest player to reach this milestone for Everton after Michael Ball.

The best is yet to come? Frightening.

  17. Post update

    FT: Watford 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea had the most of the ball, especially in the second half, but Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Homes was simply too good.
