    FT: Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

Rangers manager Mark Warburton lands his second piece of silverware. He's certainly made a big difference in his first season at Ibrox.

He's got seven days to enjoy this and prepare for next Sunday's big one against Celtic.

We'll be back before that with a busy night on Tuesday as Hearts visit Inverness and Hibs take on Falkirk in the Championship. Join us for that and thanks for your company today. Cheers.

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

There are bigger challenges ahead for Rangers as they prepare for next season and next Sunday's Scottish Cup showdown with Celtic.

Rangers players and fans will celebrate today but they will certainly hope this is the last time they ever feature in the Challenge Cup.

Two trophies in a week. Not bad at all. Is there a third on the way?

  3. Rangers party gets started

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

The winning Rangers side indulge in some mild jumping around on the wee podium set up on the pitch for these occasions and now they are off to acknowledge their fans, who have turned up in huge numbers at Hampden.

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

Now Rangers captain Lee Wallace is making the same short journey and he's got his hands on the cup before any of his team-mates are anywhere near him. He's not hanging about and it's up in the air to a big cheer just as Kenny Miller & co make it to his side.

  5. Post update

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

Blue Toon skipper Steven Noble leads his men up the Hampden stairs to collect their losers medals. 4-0 is a bit harsh on the League One side but they didn't trouble the Rangers defence very often did they? There was a wee flourish late in the first half but that was about it.

  6. Post update

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

"I'm disappointed because we're better than that," Peterhead boss Jim McInally tells BBC Radio Scotland. "I'm asking the referee why he's only booking our players because I'm a bad loser.

"Now we move on to the most important part of our season."

    Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

Rangers collect the Challenge Cup for the first time, completing a one-sided victory over battling Peterhead.

The second half finished with a late flourish, with goals from Andy Halliday and Kenny Miller adding to a special first half volley from James Tavernier and an own goal from Ally Gilchrist.

  8. Ouch!

    Rangers 4-0 Peterhead

A frustrated Nicky Riley lunges into an ugly tackle on Dominic Ball, catching the Rangers defender high on the ankle. That's another booking.

  9. GOAL

    Rangers 4-0 Peterhead (Miller)

Icing on the cake. Michael O'Halloran is too quick for the tiring Peterhead defence and his cutback is helped on by a stretching Dean Shiels, falling nicely for Kenny Miller to sweep home.

  10. Post update

    Rangers 3-0 Peterhead

Rangers gaffer Mark Warburton looks happier by the side of the pitch as he claps his approval. The fans have found their voices again as we enter the last few moments.

  11. GOAL

    Rangers 3-0 Peterhead (Halliday)

Andy Halliday coolly picks his spot in the corner and Graeme Smith can't get there despite diving the right way.

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Jason Holt upended by Steven Noble... Clumsy work from Peterhead's skipper.

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Two wonderful stops from Graeme Smith as Rangers go in search of a third goal. Andy Halliday is denied from point-blank range with a great reaction save and soon after he sticks out a leg to prevent James Tavernier finding the net with a low shot.

  14. Post update

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Suddenly, Rangers lift the tempo as James Tavernier motors down the right and fizzes in a low cross that a sliding Kenny Miller somehow lets slip between his legs when a goal looked certain.

  15. Post update

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Hampden is very quiet as Rangers amble their way towards victory. The second half has been very flat.

  16. Post update

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Barrie McKay slips a good cross in from the right and Kenny Miller gets his head on it near the penalty spot, only to steer the ball straight at goalkeeper Graeme Smith.

That's McKay's last contribution as he is replaced by Dean Shiels.

  17. Post update

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Harry Forrester looked a bit distressed when he limped off earlier. Will the in-form winger be fit in time for next Sunday's meeting with Celtic?

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Barrie McKay slides a cute reverse ball through for Billy King inside the Peterhead penalty box but the replacement winger takes a heavy touch and a good chance goes a-begging...

  19. Post update

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Ibrox manager Mark Warburton looks less than amused as he patrols the technical area by the side of the pitch. It's been a bit ragged from Rangers in this second half.

  20. Post update

    Rangers 2-0 Peterhead

Crunch! Peterhead midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski is cautioned for a horrible hack at Jason Holt.

Andy Halliday now finds himself at left-back for a reshuffled Rangers.
