  1. Goodbye

FT: Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (agg 1-3)

    Sheff Wed

That's it from me this evening, thanks for joining our live text coverage as Sheffield Wednesday overcame Brighton on aggregate to make the Championship play-off final.

Wednesday, who are looking to make it back to the Premier League for the first time since 2000, will face either Hull City or Derby County in the final.

The Tigers host the Rams tomorrow night, with a 3-0 advantage from the first leg.

There will be full coverage of that game on Radio 5 live sports extra and on the BBC Sport website - but it's goodbye from me tonight.

  2. Recap: Wednesday Wembley-bound

FT: Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wed (1-3 agg)

So, Sheffield Wednesday booked their place in the Championship play-off final thanks to a draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium tonight.

Lewis Dunk opened the scoring for Brighton, but Ross Wallace equalised for the visitors midway through the first half.

Trailing 3-1 on aggregate, the Seagulls couldn't find a way back into the match.

  3. Sheffield Wednesday reach play-off final

FT: Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Sheffield Wednesday, meanwhile, are yet to lose a game in the play-offs.

The Owls recorded their highest league finish in 16 years this season are now one game away from the Premier League.

The Hillsborough outfit have not been in the top flight since 1999-00.

Hull City or Derby County will stand in their way at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 28 May.

  4. Sheffield Wednesday reach play-off final

FT: Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

    Lewis Dunk

While Sheffield Wednesday celebrate - spare a thought for Brighton & Hove Albion.

That is a third Championship play-off semi-final defeat for the Seagulls in four years; Crystal Palace in 2013, Derby County in 2014 and now Sheffield Wednesday this season.

Albion finished 15 points ahead of the Owls in the Championship table this season, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion on goal difference.

It was a spirited effort from the Seagulls to overturn that two-goal deficit from the first leg, but it eventually proved too much for Chris Hughton's side.

Their wait for top-flight football, which was last played in Sussex in 1982-83, goes on.

  5. Sheffield Wednesday reach play-off final

FT: Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (agg 1-3)

Ex-Blackburn striker at Amex Stadium, BBC Radio 5 live

"Brighton have given everything. They couldn't have started the game better.

  6. Sheffield Wednesday reach play-off final

FT: Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Quote Message: We fight a lot and run a lot all season. This game is a good example of that. We didn't play our usual game and I think the players were a bit nervous. After what Brighton did this season they don't deserve this moment but that is football. To go to Wembley and play is fantastic. We will be 50-50 in the final but we will fight and do our best. from Carlos Carvalhal Sheffield Wednesday head coach on Sky Sports

  17. Post update

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

A ball into the Owls box from Kazenga LuaLua finds Lewis Dunk and the ball falls to Anthony Knockaert.
