Latest PostDismal end for Dundee United
FT: Dundee 2-1 Dundee Utd
That win lifts Dundee into seventh spot but the losers will grab all the headlines.
Dundee United, who once regularly terrorised Europe's finest, will be scrapping it out in the second tier next season.
Good night...
'A broken club'
FT: Dundee 2-1 Dundee Utd
"Dundee United are a broken club," says BBC Sportound's Tom English. "There are a lot of faint hearts in that team and the Championship is not a place for the faint-hearted."
Dundee Utd manager Mixu Paatelainen
Talking to BBC Radio Scotland
"We need to make wholesale changes. There are so many slack areas in the football department. Everything starts from the field and we need to get a strong, hungry team out there.
"I am desperate to build this team again. It's a massive job. It's not easy but I'm more than motivated to do it."
Dundee Utd manager Mixu Paatelainen
Talking to BBC Radio Scotland
"Simply not good enough. We threatened after we took the lead but then what happens? We lose two set-piece goals. It's soft. The same things happen again and again. If you have so many players with a slack attitude that's what happens."
Underperforming United
FT: Dundee 2-1 Dundee Utd
"It must be horrible to be in that dressing room," former Dundee United forward and coach Darren Jackson tells BBC Radio Scotland listeners. "I honestly believed they were good enough to get out of trouble. That squad should not be getting relegated."
Piling on the misery
FT: Dundee 2-1 Dundee Utd
Football fans can be a cruel lot... The Dundee fans are slow to leave the stadium as they revel in their neighbours' relegation.
Dundee manager Paul Hartley
Talking to BBC Radio Scotland
"We're a good team and we keep going to the end. I'm proud of my players. We've beaten last season's points tally and we want to finish seventh."

Chris Erskine does well to make room for a shot with a surging run but he ruins that good work by hurriedly lashing a rising shot in on goal. A corner is given but Scott Bain is claiming he didn't get a touch and gets booked for his trouble.
