"Chris has kept faith with many of his tried and trusted players. It's a strong squad who have shown a fantastic spirit in qualifying.

"He has given Joe Ledley every opportunity to get himself fit for the tournament. That could be a risk but has good cover in that position.

"I thought Emyr Huws would have been on the plane especially after his performance in the Ukraine."

  16. Wales Euro 2016 injury bulletin

Chris Coleman on Joe Ledley, Joe Allen and Gareth Bale

Wales boss Chris Coleman is in confident mood that the Wales players with injury doubts will be fit for Euro 2016 opener against Slovakia on Saturday week.

"We are still assessing Joe Ledley ... I can't say if he will be available, we think he has a good chance and is ahead of the curve.

"I expect Joe Allen to be ok. We're positive.

"Gareth Bale was limping a bit after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid on Saturday but we know that it was cramp. He is probably in better physical nick than some of the other players."

  18. Huws misses out

    Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales at Hensol Castle

Chris Coleman says telling players who missed out on a place in Wales' Euro 2016 squad was one of the most difficult moments of his career.

Among the notable omissions are defender Paul Dummett and midfielder Emyr Huws.

"With Emyr, there's a host of players in that midfield," said Coleman.

"He's young, he's got a bit of experience but he's in good company in that midfield."

Wales manager Chris Coleman has some good news: "With this type of injury, he's ahead of the curve. We think he's got a good chance for that [Slovakia] game."
