Goodbye

Hull 2-1 Leicester

Well, well. That is some start to the new season.

Hull, amid the backdrop of fan protests and having just 13 players in the squad, pull off a magnificent opening day victory.

Has champions Leicester's bubble burst already? We shall see over the course of the season.

Head here to follow rest of Saturday's games

We deserved it

Hull 2-1 Leicester

Hull matchwinner Robert Snodgrass: "It is a great feeling. Leicester know it is a new season and we have togetherness. The mentality and character got us through."

Hull captain Curtis Davies: "I was letting out frustration in the huddle at the end. I said we need to stick together. We had nothing to lose, we played well and deserved the win."

I was close. (See 2:24pm entry)

Mike Phelan's team were absolutely magnificent today. Football has this capacity to constantly surprise you and I think that is one of the greatest results in Hull City's history

Leicester are a scalp now. Hull have been excellent. Hull had 13 fit players fit and kept the same 11 on the park. What a shift they put in. They deserve a pat on the back. The two cente-halves and Sam Clucas were excellent.

Leicester looked tired. They have traveled round the world in pre-season and they looked drained. I'm sure there's more to come from the champions.

Prescott loving it

Hull 2-1 Leicester

Gotta love this tweet from politician John Prescott...

David Attenborough, Peter Shilton, Thomas Cook, Lady Jane Grey, @GaryLineker, can you hear me? Your boys took one Hull of a beating! #HulLei

Hull 2-1 Leicester

Hull in a huddle and it's their leader Curtis Davies who is leading the talk. It will have been something like: "What a win lads. Win together, lose together. Keep it going!"

FIVE additional minutes to play. Where's that come from?

Hull have matched them and been better in a lot of areas. They have been magnificent as a unit. Hull deserve the lead and if it finishes this way I don't think Leicester can have too many complaints.

Is Hull defender Curtis Davies OK? He is feeling his right hip. Why's he doing that?

Oh, it's because he's got Jamie Vardy in his pocket.

Hull 2-1 Leicester

It's the little man Shinji Okazaki again, getting his head on the end of Christian Fuchs' long throw, but it's easy for Eldin Jakupovic to gather.

Entering into time-wasting territory. Hull need to do that as much as they can now. Win by any means necessary.

Leicester are starting to ask more questions. They have freshened it up with the substitutions and Hull are starting to feel the pace. But they have no experience to bring on from the bench when they are under pressure.

Hull 2-1 Leicester

Shinji Okazaki is doing his best to change the game for Leicester after coming on, but his left-footed strike is way off target.

Can the champions find some guile and craft from Riyad Mahrez to rescue this game?

Hull 2-1 Leicester

A decision goes against Jamie Vardy and the Leicester striker is a little frustrated by that. He asks referee Mike Dean what that was about.

Careful, Jamie. You can get sent off for that nowadays. Wonder who the first player will be to fall foul of the new regulation?

GREAT SAVE!

Hull 2-1 Leicester

From the resulting free-kick, Eldin Jakupovic makes a brilliant save, diving full stretch to his left to push away Riyad Mahrez's curler which was sneaking into the bottom corner.

Claudio Ranieri is listening to BBC Radio 5 live, it seems. A couple of Leicester players are stripped off and ready to come on.

Hull 2-1 Leicester

Chris Waddle

Former England winger on BBC 5 live

Claudio Ranieri has got to make changes. Leicester need a bit more energy. I don't think Jamie Vardy has had a great game. I think Ahmed Musa has been more of a threat.
