Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Steve McClaren

Former England and Newcastle manager on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Chelsea have been well worth it. Conte will have always wanted to try the three at the back and this was his perfect chance to try it.

They have not really been tested but Chelsea have grown into it and controlled the game.

FULL-TIME

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

This is Hull's fifth game without a win in the Premier League. They will have collected just one point from the last possible 15.

Kante has been brilliant in midfield. He has broken so much up.

INJURY TIME

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

There will be four minutes of injury time.

What a miss!

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Pedro stabs wide from Marcos Alonso's cross when he really should do better.

Nathaniel Chalobah is on for the final few minutes for Chelsea.

Oscar tries to make it a hat-trick of right-footed curlers into David Marshall's top-left corner, but the Hull goalkeeper is wise to the tactic now and gets down well to push away.

'More goals if Chelsea want them'

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Jason Roberts

Former West Brom striker on Final Score

Chelsea have had so much of the ball and so much dominance. Hull look really tired. There's more goals here for Chelsea if they want them.

If they want to challenge they need to win these games more convincingly.

SUBSTITUTION

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

The travelling fans chant Victor Moses' name as he heads for the dug-out. He has done well.

Pedro is on in his place.

SUBSTITUTION

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Tom Huddlestone comes on for Sam Clucas in Hull's final change.

Oscar replaces Eden Hazard for Chelsea.

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Diego Costa wallops an awkward half-volley over the top and we even get a wry grin out of the Chelsea striker.

Fifty points in your I-Spy book right there.

YELLOW CARD

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Hull defender Andrew Robertson goes into the book for his angry reaction to the referee's call against him.

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Steve McClaren

Former England and Newcastle manager on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Chelsea are toying with Hull now. They're at 10mph and then all of a sudden 90mph.

PENALTY APPEAL

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

An exquisite backheel from Diego Costa into the path of Willian, but a stretching Curtis Davies manages to get a toe to the ball.

He slices down Willian on the follow-through though and that could well be a penalty.

Anthony Taylor says no.

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

This could get ugly for Hull.

They are less compact as they come out and try and chase the game and Chelsea are reveling in the space.

Marcos Alonso - a little underwhelming so far - should do better when Diego Costa rolls the ball into his path in the box. The former Bolton man's touch is heavy though and the chance is gone.

SUBSTITUTION

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Mike Phelan gives the dice another shake.

Abel Hernández is introduced into the action in place of Markus Henriksen.

His odds are slim, fast receding to none, though.

Absolutely fantastic goal. It opened up for Costa and it was magnificent.

You couldn't have placed it any better.

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

It must have been a paint-peeler of a team talk from Antonio Conte.

His side have been rejuvenated since half-time.

GOAL - Hull 0-2 Chelsea

Diego Costa

Diego Costa's first-time finish is an almost carbon copy of Willian's for Chelsea's first goal - sweeping a curling shot past a helpless David Marshall and into the top corner from just inside the area.

It was Nemanja Matic who set up the chance with a bullocking run from deep and a shot that deflected into Costa's path off Curtis Davies.

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Diego Costa sniffs a second for Chelsea, putting his frustration behind a drilled effort from 20 yards and David Marshall has to be sharp to get down and push it aside.

SUBSTITUTION

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Mike Phelan makes a change. Adama Diomande is replaced by Shaun Maloney.

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

7 - Willian has scored seven PL goals since the start of last season, only Diego Costa has more for Chelsea. Up.

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Steve McClaren

That is how Chelsea win games, individual ability at any moment.

If any side was going to score it was going to be Chelsea. This should open the game up.

GOAL - Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Willian

Willian with a sublime finish as he checks back on to his left foot and curls a 18-yarder past a wrong-footed David Marshall to break the deadlock.

The dirty work had been done a few moments earlier, though, and Diego Costa was the coal-carrier-in-chief, block-tackling his way through Curtis Davies to give Chelsea a three-on-three opportunity.

It was a fantastic run from Costa and the shot looked like it was going in.

It came back off the post to Kante, seven or eight yards out. He can't miss... he did.

HITS THE WOODWORK

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea should be ahead.

Diego Costa darts on to a through ball, skips around the advancing David Marshall and shoots back towards the unguarded goal.

The ball bounces off the post, but N'Golo Kante will surely bury the rebound...

Nope. He blazes clear over the top and high into the stands from eight yards.

N'Golo Kante at his bustling 2015-16 best. The Chelsea anchorman robs Ryan Mason, motors forward, looks like he might get a nosebleed as he hits the edge of the Hull box and attempts an extravagant scooped through ball to Diego Costa.

Over-hit.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

There are groans from the travelling Chelsea fans as Cesar Azpilicueta, under no pressure and inside the Hull half, opts to pass all the way back to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

No need for that. The Blues are building some pressure.

I think he'll be back.

Great move by Chelsea. Hazard is capable of anything.

He beat one, beat two then a great shot and great save.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

2012 - Chelsea have failed to record a 1st half shot on target in consecutive PL games for the first time since March 2012. Blanks.

'Costa needs to come to the party'

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

Jason Roberts

Former West Brom striker on Final Score

Chelsea are very slow and very laboured. There's nothing dynamic to their play. They really need Diego Costa to come to the party and show more in the final third of the pitch. Conte must have known Hull would set up like this.

GREAT SAVE!

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

David Marshall's first save of the day and it has to be a good one.

Eden Hazard - all staccato feet and darting pace - turns inside Andrew Robertson and snaps a stinging shot from 20 yards which Marshall leaps across to tip over.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

Robert Snodgrass attacks the Chelsea box and it takes both Marcos Alonso and Gary Cahill to snuff out the danger at the expense of a corner.

KICK-OFF

Back off and running.

Moses returns

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea have yet to register a shot on target.

Their brightest attacking outlet so far has been Victor Moses for me.

These were his touches in the first half.

'Hull look organised'
