No goals, but an entertaining start to a weekend of FA Cup action.

There's eight more ties tomorrow, including Sutton United versus Cheltenham, which is where Football Focus will come from at 12:00 GMT.

That's it from us. Until next time, goodbye.

  2. Save the date

The two sides will meet again on 13 December in the replay in Oxford. Meanwhile, both sides go in the hat for Monday's third round draw as ball number 48.

  3. 'I can't ask for any more'

    Macclesfield 0-0 Oxford Utd

Macclesfield manager John Askey on BBC Two: "On another occasion things could have gone for us and we could have got the win.

"Overall we played well, created a lot of chances but needed a better final ball or finish. We had a little wobble for five minutes but I can't ask any more of the players.

"I don't think the gap between the Football League and non-league is as big as it used to be. There are a lot of full-time teams. We showed today that we have got decent players.

"It will be difficult there in the replay. On home soil Oxford will be a different proposition. We will have nothing to lose and hopefully if we can get a win it would be great."

Ian Meatcher: Great performance from the non-league side. Not quite the cup upset we all wanted. Macclesfield Town are in the hat though

Jamie: Macclesfield were excellent - real shame not to get the win but great result all the same. Onwards and hopefully upwards

Elliot Owens: Can't believe that game finished 0-0. Perhaps a league side would have put away those chances and knocked Oxford out

  5. 'Happy with the draw'

    Macclesfield 0-0 Oxford

Macclesfield winger Jack Mackreth: "We put in everything and deserved to win the game. We can go there and test them.

"We are happy with a draw. Hopefully we can go to their place and get a result. Our movement was good and we created a lot of chances."

    Trevor Sinclair

Former England winger on BBC Two

It was an outstanding performance from Macclesfield, especially the first half when they were by far and away the better team. The second half was more even and they still gave a good account of themselves.

Macclesfield were unlucky not to win that game, a little more decisiveness was needed.

Credit to Macclesfield. They played excellently and provided a real test.

Oxford are fairly lucky they have got away with this tonight.

The home fans are on their feet to applaud the Macclesfield players off the pitch. They may not have got the win, but what a performance from the non league side.

And that's the last action of the game. It's going to take a replay to separate these two.

The ground falls silent as Chris Maguire stands over the ball. He steps up and hits the ball... over the bar.

Into the final minute and Oxford have a free kick just outside the Macclesfield area. What a chance this is...

  14. Post update

    Macclesfield 0-0 Oxford Utd

The fourth official strolls up to the edge of the pitch with that troublesome electronic board. Will he have any bother with it this time? Nope, he nails it first time to show that there'll be three minutes of time added on.

Macclesfield move the ball around nicely and they almost fashion another chance as the energetic Danny Rowe forces his way into the area and then drives in a cross but Oxford head clear.

  19. Post update

    Macclesfield 0-0 Oxford Utd

I can't call this game. Just as Oxford looked to be taking control the momentum is once again with Macclesfield. We're in for a tense final seven minutes.

No goals, but this is a great FA Cup tie.
