    FT: Borussia Monchengladbach 1-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers' media conference has finished, with the Northern Irishman well pleased with his side's progress at this level.

Not everyone might agree with him that they deserved to win against Borussia Monchengladbach.

However, it is only the third time that Celtic have avoided defeat in 26 Champions League group games away from home, and it is little surprise that the Glasgow side will leave Germany feeling good about themselves.

  12. Celtic make a point

    FT: Borussia Monchengladback 1-1 Celtic

Celtic gain a rare point on their Champions League group travels and it keeps alive their hopes of staying in European competition beyond Christmas.

Manchester City's win over Barcelona means they are five points behind the English side in the chase for a place in the last 16.

More realistically, they are two points behind Borussia Monchengladbach and it appears to be between those two for third spot in Group C and a place in the Europa League.
