They've now closed the gap to second-placed Brighton to five points.

Championship round-up - part two

Arguably the game of the night was at Pride Park where Joe Ralls' last-minute penalty earned Cardiff a 4-3 win at Derby.

Leeds stay firmly in the play-off mix with a 2-1 win over Bristol City.

Sheffield Wednesday also strengthened their own play-off hopes with a 2-1 victory over Blackburn, while Jake Buxton's late header earned Wigan a vital win at Wolves.

Elsewhere it's now just one win in 13 for Birmingham under Gianfranco Zola following their 2-1 loss at Preston.

Fulham won their second successive home game 3-2, as they beat Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile Reading lead Brentford 3-2 with a couple of minutes remaining.

Huddersfield winning goal at Rotherham
Rex Features

Well, that was all a bit frantic wasn't it.

Newcastle remain top of the Championship after their 2-2 draw at Norwich and Brighton's 1-1 draw against Ipswich.

They'll be looking over their shoulders at Huddersfield who came from behind to beat Rotherham thanks to Tommy Smith's goal in the second minute of stoppage time - the third-placed Terriers are now just four points behind Brighton.

Aston Villa's woes continued with a 3-1 defeat at home to Barnsley.

FULL-TIME

Brighton 1-1 Ipswich

A great game at Brighton ends level.

The visitors took an early lead through skipper Luke Chambers' header before Tomer Hemed equalised from the spot before the break.

The result keeps the Seagulls second in the table.

Brighton 1-1 Ipswich

Glenn Murray smashes a shot against the post for Brighton.

That would have sent them top of the table!

FULL-TIME

Norwich 2-2 Newcastle

Norwich keeper John Ruddy saves well from Jonjo Shelvey's deflected free-kick and that's full-time.

The Magpies took the lead after 23 seconds through Ayoze Perez before goals from Jacob Murphy and Cameron Jerome put the Canaries in front at the break.

Jamaal Lascelles gave the leaders a deserved point with a fine finish late on.

GOAL - Reading 3-2 Brentford

Roy Beerens

Two minutes after they equalised, Reading are ahead.

It's a shocking clearance by Brentford keeper Dan Bentley, who sends the ball straight to Yann Kermorgant.

Kermorgant sennds the ball back towards goal, and Roy Beerens finishes into an empty net.

FULL-TIME

Aston Villa 1-3 Barnsley

Barnsley heap more misery on listless Aston Villa.

A double from Tom Bradshaw and Adam Armstrong's penalty give the Tykes all three points at Villa Park.

Villa have taken just one point from seven games in 2017.

GOAL - Reading 2-2 Brentford

Danny Williams

If everyone could stop scoring for a minute, we could use a breather.

Reading are back on level terms with Brentford, Danny Williams turning in from Garath McCleary's cross.

There's plenty of time for a winner in this one, having kicked off at 20:00.

Norwich 2-2 Newcastle

Ayoze Perez, who scored in the first minute, nearly scores in the last.

Norwich keeper John Ruddy keeps out the Spaniard's effort.

Brighton 1-1 Ipswich

It's still really open at Brighton.

This time Emy Huws bursts through for Ipswich but he's denied by a combination of goalkeeper David Stockdale and defender Shane Duffy.

GOAL - Rotherham 2-3 Huddersfield

Tommy Smith

Huddersfield just cannot be stopped this season and it looks like they're heading for a fifth straight league win.

Tommy Smith collects the ball on the right and powers a low shot into the corner from all of 25 yards. Stunning strike and as things stand the Terriers will be four points behind an automatic promotion spot.

GOAL - Derby 3-4 Cardiff

Joe Ralls

Surely the winner for Cardiff!

Joe Ralls steps up from the penalty spot to restore the Bluebirds' lead after a foul on Rhys Healey.

Incredible comeback.

Norwich 2-2 Newcastle

Good chance for Jonjo Shelvey but he scuffs his effort wide.

Newcastle looking the more likely winners as we enter the closing minutes.

Norwich 2-2 Newcastle

Sir Trevor Brooking

Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

At present, as the seconds tick away, if anyone is going to win, it looks like it is going to be Newcastle.

GOAL - Wolves 0-1 Wigan

Jake Buxton

The game at Molineux has passed us by somewhat with all the other goals flying in - but what a HUGE goal this could be.

Jake Buxton rises high to head home a corner for Wigan to leave the home faithful stunned.
