  1. Post update

    Brighton 2-0 Derby

A fierce strike from Anthony Knockaert forces Scott Carson to tip the ball over the bar. It was a simple ball up top and the Brighton winger was first to react, cracking his effort straight down the middle.

It's a save Carson has to make.

  2. Post update

    Brighton 2-0 Derby

Liam Rosenior is having a fine game for Brighton. he's not had to much defending, but is playing a blinder going forward. That said Brighton's side is full of seven and eight out of 10 performances.

  3. Post update

    Brighton 2-0 Derby

The double change means Derby are back to a more familiar 4:3:3 formation with Will Hughes and Craig Bryson seemingly playing just in front of Jacob Butterfield in the middle of the park.

Brighton are unchanged. Everything is going tickety-boo from their point of view.

  4. KICK-OFF

    Brighton 2-0 Derby

Steve McClaren is not messing around, making a double substitution as Derby try to get back in the game.

Craig Bryson and Will Hughes are on, with Julien de Sart and David Nugent making way.

  5. Rams reversal?

    HT: Brighton 2-0 Derby

Well, unless there's a drastic - and we are talking drastic change - in the way the wind is blowing at the Amex, then Brighton will be joint top of the Championship come full time.

One goal and the nerves may start to creep in for the home side. But apart from one Darren Bent header, a Derby goal has not looked likely.

  7. Post update

    HT: Brighton 2-0 Derby

The half-time stats do not make pretty viewing for Derby fans. One shot. Zero on target.

Were Norwich right to sack Alex Neil? #bbcefl

Paul Limbert:   Derby should be doing exactly what Norwich have. Get new manager to assess squad over 10 games ready for summer.

  9. HALF-TIME

    Brighton 2-0 Derby

    Sam Baldock goal

We had more goal threat from Derby in time added on than for the rest of the half. But there's nothing doing as Tom Ince and Matej Vydra briefly threaten and Brighton are well on top at the break.

It's difficult to see the Rams coming back from this on that showing. Not good enough from a Derby point of view.

  10. Post update

    Brighton 2-0 Derby

And it's almost three. Sam Baldock curls an effort just wide. That would surely have been game over.

We have three minutes of added time.

  11. Post update

    Brighton 2-0 Derby

A lovely controlled finish from Sam Baldock and Brighton's superiority is rewarded with a second goal.

The striker made the most of the ball breaking kindly to him in the box to stroke it low past Scott Carson.

  13. Post update

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

Derby are being pressed as soon as they approach the halfway line and have no solution.

The long ball is being dealt with no trouble at all and their passing is letting them down when they are under pressure.

Brighton are well on top at the moment.

  14. Post update

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

David Nugent is doing plenty of running and chasing up front but most of it is closing down.

Like his fellow former England striker in the Derby line-up, he is not getting much in the way of service. At least Darren Bent has had a sight of goal. He's the only one to get anywhere near for the visitors.

  15. CLOSE!

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

More patient build-up play from Brighton sees Jiri Skalak played in down the left and his fine first-time cross is headed over by Glenn Murray.

Almost goal number 18 for the Seagulls top scorer. That was a big chance.

  16. Post update

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

It's all going to plan for Chris Hughton so far. A win and his Brighton side go level on points with one of his former clubs Newcastle.

  17. Post update

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

Derby survive. Just. They look nervous at the back and if Brighton continue to get their set-piece delivery so spot on then a second goal seems very likely.

An almighty goalmouth scramble could easily have led to number two for the hosts.

  18. Post update

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

More quality wingplay from Brighton. This time it's not Anthony Knockaert though as Liam Rosenior does a passable impression of Arjen Robben on the left and almost tees up a chance. Brighton now have a corner.

  19. 'Derby have no motivation'

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

    Warren Aspinall

    Ex-Brighton striker on BBC Sussex

McClaren has £12 million forward Matej Vydra and he's probably the best number 10 in the league.

A lot of their players are on a big pay day. McClaren has given up on the play-offs and that means no motivation.

  20. Post update

    Brighton 1-0 Derby

Brighton's more direct approach is causing no end of problems for the visitors, who are being forced to do a lot of defending, despite having more possession.

Derby haven't managed a shot on target yet, with just Darren Bent's header their only effort on goal.
