    Scottish Cup - 4 & 5 March

Hamilton Academical and Aberdeen take a break from Premiership action this weekend to take part in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Accies visit Rangers on Saturday at lunchtime and the Dons are at home to Partick Thistle on Sunday afternoon - that latter match is live on BBC One Scotland.

Ayr - winners tonight against Raith Rovers - visit holders Hibernian in Saturday's other tie and Celtic host St Mirren on Sunday at lunchtime.

All four of this weekend's ties will be covered on BBC Radio Scotland and the BBC Sport website.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes: "A lot of pride in the performance.

"We found ourselves in a difficult situation. I thought we dominated the game.

"Hamilton defended well in their box.

"We didn't go under, we kept taking responsibility. Sometimes you don't get what you deserve."

    Ryan Jack and Derek McInnes
  5. 'Quite astonishing'

    FT: Hamilton Academical 1-0 Aberdeen

    Chick Young

BBC Scotland at New Douglas Park

"Incredibly, despite conceding 20 corner kicks and winning not a single one themselves, Hamilton held out for a quite astonishing and vitally important win."

    FT: Hamilton Academical 1-0 Aberdeen

Hamilton player-manager Martin Canning:  "In the first half, we get one opportunity. We take it.

County face Hearts on Wednesday and Well do not play again until Saturday's visit to Kilmarnock.

    Ayr United 1-0 Raith Rovers

    Kenny Crawford

BBC Sport Scotland at Somerset Park

Farid El Alagui's header is enough for Ayr United to beat Raith Rovers, who bizarrely had to play midfielder Ryan Stevenson as goalkeeper.

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 Aberdeen

Hamilton Academical move up to ninth in the Scottish Premiership with only their fourth league win of the season - two of which have been against Aberdeen.

The Dons remain nine points clear of third-placed Rangers but that gap could be reduced to six if Rangers beat St Johnstone tomorrow.

  11. Goalkeeper Lewis joins the attack

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 Aberdeen

Keeper Joe Lewis is up in the opposition box for Aberdeen's latest corners but the extra man in the box cannot make the difference.

  12. Dons still pressing

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen continue to send crosses into the Hamilton box but the hosts stand firm.

Dougie Imrie gets clear but heads for the corner rather than mounting an attack for the hosts.

    It's tense in stoppage time.

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 Aberdeen

Four minutes of stoppage time begin.

  14. Under five minutes left...

Aberdeen keep knocking at the door. This time it is Ryan Jack firing through a crowd but one of the outstretched feet keeps the ball reaching the goal.

  20. CLOSE!

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 Aberdeen

Adam Rooney is the target for Kenny McLean's deep inswinging cross but cannot get a telling connection as the ball drifts just wide.
