  1. Brighton promoted to the Premier League

Thanks for your company today, on what's been an extremely eventful day in the EFL.

We've had three promotions, one relegation, one managerial resignation and we probably missed a partridge in a pear tree along the way.

Congratulations to Plymouth and Portsmouth, who will be playing League One football next season, and of course to Brighton, who are into the promised land of the Premier League.

  2. Brighton for the title?

    Anthony Knockaert

So Brighton have been promoted, and now their attentions will turn to winning the Championship title.

They now have a seven-point gap to second-placed Newcastle with three games remaining, and the Seagulls can wrap up top spot if they beat Norwich on Friday.

We'll have live text coverage of that match here on the BBC Sport website and app.

  3. Reaction: Brighton promoted to the Premier League

    Steve Sidwell

Brighton midfielder Steve Sidwell on BBC Sussex:

"Everyone from top to bottom has been fantastic this year on and off the pitch.

"We'll enjoy today, but we want to go that one step further and get the Championship.

"The league table doesn't lie, we deserve to be where we are. Destiny awaits."

  4. Brighton promoted to the Premier League

    #bbcefl

Joe Binns: Today means so much to so many people at this fantastic club. The tears are flowing all the way from Bolivia. We are going up!

Emmanuel: Congratulations to Chris Hughton and Brighton for the promotion I hope Brighton know your value in the Premier league next season.

  5. Reaction: Brighton promoted to the Premier League

    Tony Bloom

Brighton owner and chairman Tony Bloom on BBC Sussex:

"It's really amazing, we waited a hell of a long time for this moment, and words can't really describe it.

"The build up, every game for the last 10 or 15 games, has been absolutely great, and the players have not let us down at all.

  6. Birmingham manager Zola resigns

    #bbcefl

Ian Paul Fletcher: What a joke Zola has been; and a real insult to all the hard working people who pay for their tickets. He had to go.

David Hill: Proof as if it was needed that great players don't always make great managers. Worst decision this season sacking Rowett.

Peter Ladd: Gianfranco Zola...lovely bloke, hopeless manager. Serves Birmingham right after sacking Rowett, who did a superb job with no money.

  7. Reaction: Brighton promoted to the Premier League

Brighton captain Bruno on BBC Sussex:

"It's been five years now for me, and it's been hard for me because we were really close to getting promoted for five seasons.

"From the first day, Brighton felt like home, not just for me but for my family as well, my wife, my kids, we're happy here.

"I came five years ago trying to get to the Premier League. And when you get it, you think about how much you worked for that. I don't have words to describe it."

  8. FULL-TIME

    Derby 1-1 Huddersfield

Huddersfield get a point in their promotion push. Collin Quaner got their early goal, but Jacob Butterfield's late equaliser kept Gary Rowett's unbeaten home record as Derby boss intact.

Huddersfield are fourth in the Championship, seven points behind second-placed Newcastle with a game in hand.

  9. BreakingBrighton promoted to Premier League

    FT: Derby 1-1 Huddersfield

    Brighton promoted

It's all over at Pride Park. Huddersfield can only draw with Derby, so Brighton are promoted to the Premier League!

  10. Zola speaks after Birmingham resignation

Here's a flavour of what Gianfranco Zola had to say to the media after resigning as Birmingham manager.

"I'm sure you're well informed that I have decided to resign," said the Italian at a press conference.

"I'm sorry because I came here with huge expectations and the results, unfortunately, haven't been good. I take full responsibility for that.

"I'm the first one to be disappointed by results. If I feel like I cannot help the team, it's better that I leave somebody else to do that."

  11. Butterfield scores against former club

    Derby 1-1 Huddersfield

For once, Huddersfield don't clear their lines as they should and former Town midfielder Jacob Butterfield's strike from outside the box deflects in.

If it stays like this, Brighton's automatic promotion will be confirmed and the Terriers' automatic promotion hopes will look slim.

  12. GOAL - Derby 1-1 Huddersfield

    Jacob Butterfield

A goal celebrated on the south coast as much as in Derby...

  13. Reaction: Brighton promoted to the Premier League

Bobby Zamora was released by Brighton last summer after a second spell at the club, but the former England striker is still delighted to see his old side back in the top flight.

  15. Post update

    Derby 0-1 Huddersfield

You know when I last spoke about the game and said there had only been two shots on target in the game? That has not changed.

Both managers make some substitutions but they're yet to have an impact on the game.

Derby with most of the ball and Huddersfield looking to counter quickly when they do get it.

    #bbcefl

There's plenty of sympathy from Birmingham City fans for former manager Gary Rowett on #bbcefl.

Mr Ripley: When your manager's doing a reet good job but you ruthlessly sack him. Well @BCFC - that one worked out well didn't it

And plenty of criticism of Gianfranco Zola as well.

Paul Marson: Zola, a great footballer who couldn't bring it as a manager. It's been a painful few months.

Scott Jones: Should have gone months ago, he's a coward who didn't want to be relegated. He should have left at the end no matter where we were.

  19. Birmingham manager Zola resigns

Next up for Birmingham City? It's the derby against local rivals Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.

Should be a quiet night in at the library. Not.

No statement from Blues yet, so we've got no idea who will be in charge for that game.

After that, it's Huddersfield at home and Bristol City away to complete the season.

  20. Post update

    Derby 0-1 Huddersfield

Not exactly a treat of free-flowing, attacking football at the moment in the late Championship game.

We've had just two shots on target. Huddersfield scored with their one.
