  2. 'Mourinho produced tactical masterstrokes'

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

    Phil McNulty

BBC Sport chief football writer at Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho marched down the touchline towards the Stretford End pointing at his Manchester United badge after a win that was as much his as his players.

He produced tactical masterstrokes today, using the pace of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard and utilising Ander Herrera to man-mark Eden Hazard, and recorded a win that will be celebrated in parts of north London as much as Old Trafford.

United were dominant in all areas as Chelsea were outflanked on the pitch and in the technical area.

  3. 'My hand was in a natural position'

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

A drenched Ander Herrera is down in the tunnel facing the post-match interviewers.

The Spaniard diplomatically discusses his 'handball' in the build-up to Manchester United's first goal, eloquently claiming his hand was in a natural position.

Classic say a lot, but admit nothing tactics.

Full quotes from Herrera and fellow scorer Marcus Rashford coming up...

  5. Momentum shift on the horizon?

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

    Danny Mills

Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

There could be a huge momentum shift next weekend in the FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Tottenham. If Tottenham win that what will it do for their belief? Chelsea are still in the box seat at the moment.

  6. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Little sign of a smile from Jose Mourinho as he shakes Antonio Conte's hand before trudging down the touchline.

He beats the Man Utd badge on his coat with a clenched fist as he approaches the Stretford End, signifying where his heart lies.

  7. What it means

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Manchester United fans only care about their side's own position of course, but some of their Spurs-supporting friends may wish to buy them a drink later.

    Premier League

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

All over! Chelsea's lead stays at four points over Spurs, while Man Utd put the cat amongst the Champions League pigeons.

  9. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Now Timothy Fosu-Mensah gets a standing ovation (see 81 mins)! The young defender comes on for Ashley Young, who takes his time trotting off. Obviously he has to find Michael Carrick and hand over the captain's armband. Tick tock. Very clever.

  10. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

David Beckham sprays a Hollywood pass about 60 yards down the touchline. Oh, sorry, it was Marcos Rojo. Unfortunately for him it skips off the wet grass and just out of Ashley Young's outstretched foot.

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Andre Marriner trots up to the touchline armed with a big electronic board. On it, the number four. That, of course, means four minutes of stoppage time.

Four minutes for Chelsea to make a minor miracle.

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas clatters into Michael Carrick on the edge of the United box. The home fans bay for blood. The Chelsea midfielder does not see red, only picking up a yellow.

  13. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Still Chelsea are dominating possession. Still they're doing little with it. Time ticking.

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

    Danny Mills

Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

It has been a very good team performance from Manchester United. There has been no stand-out individual. Everybody has played their part.

  15. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Jose Mourinho is throwing his arms around more than the Hallé Orchestra conductor.

Can the Manchester United manager keep his team ticking in the final few minutes?

  16. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

...they can find something special. No sign yet, however.

Eden Hazard's searching ball forward tries to pick out Pedro, but the Spaniard is flagged offside.

  17. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

    Into the final five.

Chelsea's lead at the top of the Premier League set to remain at four points over Spurs.

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

Zlatan time. Not a bad bloke to bring on. A standing ovation for Marcus Rashford as he departs the pitch. A wonderful display by the United teenager. A well-taken goal and nightmares for the Chelsea defence.

  19. Post update

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

A huge roar greets some movement on the United bench. Clue: it isn't Timothy Fosu-Mensah coming on. (No offence Timmy.)
