Simon Atkins: Can't believe how nervous I was for the last 20 minutes, especially when 6 minutes were indicated. We're safe! Please stay Harry!

  5. Blackburn relegated

    FT: Brentford 1-3 Blackburn

    Danny Graham

In contrast to the celebrations at St James' Park, the City Ground and Ashton Gate, there is despair at Griffin Park for poor old Blackburn.

They did more than could have been expected of them today... They beat a very good Brentford side by a two-goal margin.

But who could have expected all three struggling sides to win? Other results have sent Rovers down.

  6. Post update

    FT: Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton

You have got to feel for Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale.

The keeper has been superb all season and made a number of fine saves today but his error has handed Newcastle the title.

However, it's Premier League football next season for Brighton anyway.

  7. BreakingNewcastle win the Championship title

FT: Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton, Newcastle 3-0 Barnsley

It's all over at Villa Park - Brighton are held and Newcastle are champions!

    Newcastle champions
  8. Blackburn relegated

    FT: Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

The Birmingham players sprint to their fans and there's wild joy in the away end. My, the relief!

Shirts are off. The players pile in to join the mayhem in with their travelling fans, who are beside themselves.

  9. BreakingBlackburn relegated to League One

    Blackburn relegated

    Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

Birmingham stay up! Blackburn are down.

  11. Post update

    Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton

Into the last few moments of stoppage time at Villa Park.

Brighton must find a second to win the league.

  12. Post update

    Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

Birmingham still aren't over the line yet. They're clinging on, into the 96th minute now.

If they concede, they'll go down.

  13. Newcastle heading for the title

Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton; Newcastle 3-0 Barnsley

What have you done David Stockdale?

Jack Grealish drifts in from the left and hits a shot from 25 yards that the Seagulls keeper should stop with ease but it goes through him.

Meanwhile, Newcastle now lead 3-0 against Barnsley thanks to Dwight Gayle and, more importantly, will win the league if things stay as they are.

    Nottingham Forest 3-0 Ipswich

    Forest are safe!

    All eyes on Ashton Gate...

    Brentford 1-3 Blackburn

Rovers' game is up but they now wait for news from Ashton Gate.

Blackburn are going down unless Bristol City score.

  16. GOAL - Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton

    Jack Grealish

    My word!

  17. Post update

    Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

Six minutes of time are added on. SIX minutes!

Birmingham fans have no nails left.

  18. Post update

    Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

Three years ago, Birmingham scored a stoppage-time goal at Bolton to stay up on the final day.

Now, as they enter stoppage time, they need to hang on.

Everyone is behind the ball for the Blues.

  19. Post update

    Aston Villa 0-1 Brighton

Great save from David Stockdale to deny Conor Hourihane's free-kick.

That was destined for the top corner.

A Villa equaliser would see Newcastle take the title.
