    Celtic 0-0 Rosenborg

"Rosenborg grew into the game and you've got to be impressed by how they kept the ball," says former Celtic striker Scott McDonald.

"Celtic put you under a lot of pressure and they play a high-press game.

"They [Rosenborg] dealt with that really well after about 20 minutes. Celtic needed Rosenborg to come out a bit more..."

  3. 'Not doom and gloom'

    Celtic 0-0 Rosenborg

"Celtic gave up so many chances in this match. Our analysis is reflecting the number of chances they gave up and how fortunate they are to be 0-0 going into the second leg.

"It's not doom and gloom but you'd like to see Leigh Griffiths back and you don't want to see Celtic giving up chances like that again."

  5. Griffiths to feature in Norway?

    Celtic 0-0 Rosenborg

"Well I can't think too much about that [the lack of a striker against Rosenborg] because we don't have one. It's as simple as that.

"So we need to worry about other ways in which we can find solutions to score goals. We had enough pressure in and around the box - just missing that wee final pass - but that comes from the time of the season as well.

"I was really pleased with the players tonight and, for large parts, had control of the game. Of course, they're a good sidem and you can see that.

"For us, of course we're frustrated we didn't get the win but we're absolutely fine because we know we ca go there and win. We actually score more goals away from home."

    Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths

Asked whether he expected Leigh Griffiths to be fit for the return leg, Rodgers said: "I don't know. We'll see how he is over the next few days and we'll assess it from there."

  6. Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers

    Celtic 0-0 Rosenborg

"Nil-Nil in European football is never a bad result. I was delighted with the players in relation to, you think we're playing without strikers, I thought their control of the game was excellent, in particular the first half.

"This [Rosenborg] is a team that's halfway through their season and a really good level of fitness. You could see that."

    Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers

"Taking everything into account: the time of the season, the level of our game, it was just that last little around the edge of the box.

"It's important that you don't concede, we didn't concede and now we know they'll come out a little bit more in the second leg. And we know we score goals away from home."

  7. 'Celtic will go through'

    Tom English

Chief sports writer, BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

"In terms of chances created, Rosenborg were miles ahead of Celtic. Four outstanding moments that they could've converted. As it is, Celtic have survived a horrendous night."

"It does open the debate: why does a club like Celtic, with the ambitions they have, only have two strikers? They had no goal threat and no centre forward."
