  1. 'Mourinho deserves credit'

    Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham

    Ally McCoist

Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I think we have to give Jose Mourinho credit. It was a good substitution and that certainly could be the match winner.

  2. Post update

    Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham

Dele Alli loves to get stuck in. He barges in on Ashley Young and gives United a free-kick on the halfway line.

    It comes to nothing, though.

  3. 'Alli miss important'

    Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham

    John Murray

BBC football commentator for 5 live Sport

That miss from Dele Alli now looks so important in the story of this game. It was just a few minutes before that Manchester United goal.

  4. 'Great finish'

    Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham

    Ally McCoist

Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Anthony Martial finishes it extremely well. He wrong-foots the goalkeeper and he took the ball down brilliantly.

It was a great finish. You have to keep the ball down. Eric Dier did not see the run from Martial in behind him.

  5. GOAL - Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham

    Anthony Martial (81 mins)

    Super sub!

Tottenham had just been ruled offside when David de Gea sent down a whistling goal kick.

Lukaku headed it into the path of Anthony Martial, who beats two Spurs defenders and slots home.

You sensed a goal was coming. More to follow?

    Anthony Martial
  6. 'Unfortunate for United'

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

    Ally McCoist

Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

That was a brilliant delivery and it is the first time we have seen Jesse Lingard play a ball in form a wide position.

That's very unfortunate for Manchester United as it was a good header too.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Gaaaah again! Romelu Lukaku's powerful header comes off the bottom of the right-hand post! The cross came in from Jesse Lingard.

That's United's best chance of the game.

    Romelu Lukaku
  8. 'Exquisite pass!'

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

    Ally McCoist

Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

What a pass that is from Christian Eriksen!

That is not the first time we have seen it this season. That was exquisite and I think Dele Alli should have scored.

He went for the ball with his wrong foot but I can't tell you how good that ball was. It was a moment of real class.

He is the only player on the pitch who looks capable of making that pass.

  9. CLOSE!

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Gaaaah. A lovely move by Spurs but Dele Alli can't finish it off!

Alli runs on to a lovely, floated ball into the box from Christian Eriksen but the England international can't poke it past David de Gea.

    Dele Alli
  10. Post update

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham are given loads of space and an unmarked Christian Eriksen decides to have a go from distance.

It goes over the target and doesn't trouble the keeper.

  11. Post update

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

    Gary Flintoff

BBC Radio 5 live reporter at Old Trafford

The conditions have visibly worsened in the second half. The rain is swirling around in all directions but both sides are still trying to play. Is there a goal in this game?

  12. CLOSE!

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Romelu Lukaku turns on the burners up the left flank and flashes across goal. Hugo Lloris produces a good, strong save to stop it falling at the feet of a United player.

Then Antonio Valencia gets booked for diving under the pressure of Mousa Dembele.

  13. Post update

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Someone on Twitter has just pointed out that that was Marcus Rashford's last game as a teenager. He turns 20 on Tuesday.

    I feel old.

Sho Rahman: Lukaku needs to work harder in the big games. Just not good enough today.

Dave W: Utd have gone back a few years - pass directly to feet which means the receiver has to stand still until the ball arrives.

Kritt: Spurs are much more than the "Harry Kane" team. But make no mistake, without him, they are much less threatening in attack

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Marcus Rashford is off and Anthony Martial is on for the hosts.

Martial is wearing short sleeves and gloves and therefore deserves the first yellow card of the match.

  16. Post update

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

A poor ball by Eric Dier falls to Ander Herrera, but the United midfielder is instantly brought down by Mousa Dembele, and the Spurs substitute instantly starts kicking off.

No cards shown so far, though.

  17. Post update

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Serge Aurier hits another tame shot at David de Gea and it's all gone quiet again.

The weather is disgusting at Old Trafford. Proper northern winter has arrived.

This isn't going to make the game improve one bit.

  18. 'Better corner delivery'

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

    Ally McCoist

Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

What a chance and do you know why? It was a better delivery from the corner! It was a good strike and Antonio Valencia keeps his body over the ball.

That wasn't too far over the bar!

  19. SUBSTITUTION

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

Jesse Lingard is on for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Which is good because it's easier for me to spell.

  20. CLOSE!

    Manchester United 0-0 Tottenham

    POW!

After a second Henrikh Mkhitaryan corner, Antonio Valencia absolutely blasts it goalwards.

It wiggles over the bar but it was a great hit.
