Liverpool 3-0 Huddersfield

Almost four!

Joel Matip heads over the bar from a corner. He was unmarked and should have done better.

Liverpool 3-0 Huddersfield

Liverpool are hunting a fourth goal.

They're finishing the game with Emre Can and Doninic Solanki on the pitch. Mo Salah and Daniel Sturridge have been taken off with a view to Wenesday's Champions League match with Maribor.

Liverpool 3-0 Huddersfield

A rare clean sheet for Liverpool?

Three minutes to go plus added time.

Georginio Wijnaldum

Wonderful goal.

It's all smiles for Liverpool as Georginio Wijnaldum marks his return to the side with a terrific finish inside the area following another delicious move.

You wouldn't bet against the Reds from adding another before the finish.

Liverpool 2-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield have just had their first shot and we're inside the final 20 minutes. Tom Ince sends a free-kick over the wall and well over the bar.

'Liverpool in the mood'

It's corner after corner for Liverpool. They are chasing more goals and they look like a completely different team in this second half.

They are in the mood.

SUBSTITUTION

Liverpool 2-0 Huddersfield

It's Champions League night at Anfield on Wednesday so Jurgen Klopp is likely to make full use of his bench.

Here comes the first change. Goalscorer Firmino gets a standing ovation as he makes way for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Now Anfield really would erupt if the Ox could join the goalscoring party.

CLOSE!

Liverpool 2-0 Huddersfield

It's taken a while but Liverpool are turning on the style now.

A shot on the turn by Mohamed Salah whistles just wide of the post.

It's one way traffic. Damage limitation for Huddersfield.

Liverpool 2-0 Huddersfield

It'll require an effort even more heroic than last week's win over Manchester United for Huddersfield to get back into this.

GOAL - Liverpool 2-0 Huddersfield

Roberto Firmino

This is much more like it from Liverpool.

They are a completely different animal since taking the lead and Roberto Firmino doubles the lead after attacking a James Milner corner to head into the bottom corner of the net.

The Kop is in full voice.

Liverpool 1-0 Huddersfield

What do Huddersfield have in their locker?

The Terriers have done a sterling job frustrating the hosts but they need to go for it now they are behind.

That was Sturridge's first goal since the 4-0 thumping of Arsenal in August.

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Huddersfield

Daniel Sturridge

At last some quality!

It's a shocking mistake by Tommy Smith in front of The Kop who heads Alberto Moreno's pass straight to Daniel Sturridge who cleverly lifts the ball over the advancing keeper.

Anfield breathes a sigh of relief.

Lots of touches, none decisive

Huddersfield - whose touchmap is the right-hand graphic above - are yet to have a touch within 15 yards of the Liverpool goal.

The Reds - on the left - have been busier but, as so often, this season they have not carved out enough clear-cut chances.

Dominic Solanke, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Marko Grujic are the attacking options on the home bench.

KICK-OFF

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

This game can only get better. Back under way.

Why was Salah on penalty duty?

Jurgen Klopp was singing Mo Salah's praises after he scored that penalty which sent Egypt through to the World Cup.

You could hear supporters wondering why Salah took that penalty in the first half though, especially with James Milner and Roberto Firmino on the pitch.

I don't quite understand what this graphic means, but it boils down to Mohamed Salah's penalty being pretty awful.

According to the xG experts it was in the worse 10% of penalty kicks in terms of placement.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Liverpool have now missed 34 Premier League penalties - no side has missed more in the competition. (Arsenal also 34).

MISSED PENALTY - Mo Salah

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Typical of Liverpool's day.

Mohamed Salah spot kick is brilliantly beaten out by Jonas Lossl. The rebound falls straight to Jordan Henderson but the Reds captain clips the post with a first time shot.

PENALTY TO LIVERPOOL

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Foul by Tommy Smith on Roberto Firmino. Good spot by referee Kevin Friend? There's no doubt Smith was tugging Firmino's shirt but there seemed to be a delay before he pointed to the spot.

Great chance for Liverpool to bring this game to life.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

The positives for Jurgen Klopp is his defence has not conceded.

The negatives? His side are way too slow, lacklustre, subdued and look, well, awful.

SUBSTITUTION

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Half a chance for Liverpool as James Milner tests Jonas Lossl from distance.

This has been all too easy for Huddersfield's defence.

The visitors have been forced into an early change after Rajiv van La Parra suffers a knock and is unable to continue. Elias Kachunga is on.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Chris Lowe is off the pitch with nose bleed. It's a quick change of shirt for the Huddersfield defender. Liverpool are looking so ordinary.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Was that a chance?

Mohamed Salah finds Daniel Sturridge in the six-yard area but the Liverpool striker has his back to goal and is surrounded.

Moments later Salah tests Jonas Lossl for the first time. It's straight at the Huddersfield keeper. Comfortable.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

This is rather too pedestrian by Liverpool. Where's the tempo? The energy? The creativity?

No shots on target by either side.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Tom Ince's Liverpool career consisted of one appearance in a League Cup defeat to Northampton Town.

He's putting himself about at Anfield as though he has a point to prove.

Salah is on the attack inside the Huddersfield half when Ince puts an end to it with a super challenge.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

It's pretty dull so far which will please David Wagner no end.

The visitors have plenty behind the ball and are well disciplined which is making it harder for the Reds to break them down.

It's Wagner 1-0 Klopp in terms of the tactical tussle at the moment.

CLOSE!

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Almost the breakthrough for Liverpool.

Daniel Sturridge meets James Milner's cross at the back poss but his attempt bounces over the bar.

The Reds are stepping it up.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Three goals already at The Hawthorns - Manchester City are 2-1 up against West Brom - but we're still awaiting a first decent chance at Anfield.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Georginio Wijnaldum is back on the pitch but he doesn't look comfortable.

The Reds are already without Philippe Coutinho, while Dejan Lovren was injured in the warm-up.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Georginio Wijnaldum is down receiving treatment after an aerial challenge. Not another Liverpool injury?

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield are inviting danger by giving the ball away inside their own half.

Alberto Moreno whips in a delicious cross which is just about stabbed clear by a blue and white shirt.

Liverpool are enjoying lots of possession but that means little unless you find the net, right?

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield are passing the ball around nicely. The Terriers win the game's first corner as Danny Williams forces an error from Alberto Moreno, but Joel Matip heads clear.

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

Daniel Sturridge needs a goal and he's already had the ball at his feet inside the Huddersfield penalty area but it's hacked clear before the England striker can cause any damage.

KICK-OFF

Liverpool 0-0 Huddersfield

How will that late change impact Liverpool?

We're under way at Anfield.

Lovren injured in warm-up

BREAKING: Dejan Lovren has been injured in the warm-up and Ragnar Klavan starts for Liverpool.

Minute's silence

Every player is sporting a shirt featuring a poppy and there is now a minute's silence as this is Liverpool's last home Premier League match ahead of Remembrance Sunday on 12 November.
