  1. Villas-Boas giving the Dakar Rally a crack

    .

We've chatted about managers a lot today. Here's a final one to leave you with tonight.

Former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is taking a break from footballl... to compete in the Dakar Rally next year.

The 40-year-old, whose uncle took part in 1982 Dakar Rally, will drive a Toyota Hilux in the car category.

Villas-Boas had initially wanted to contest the race on a motorbike but was advised against it because of the additional preparation time needed.

The event starts in Peru on 6 January.

We're going to sign off now but you can still watch the rest of Match of the Day on this page.

    Bournemouth 1-2 Burnley

    Danny Murphy

    Former Liverpool midfielder on MOTD

Chris Wood came on at Spurs earlier this season. He's got real potential. £15m is cheap these days.

  3. Post update

    Bournemouth 1-2 Burnley

    Ian Wright

Former Arsenal & England striker on MOTD

Burnley have been brilliant away from home. Robbie Brady was lovely but Chris Wood was the focal point. He holds the ball and brings the team up with him.

He runs the channel but takes care of the ball too. He is a willing runner. He looks sharp, he is more aware and it was an instinctive finish.

  4. 'Absolutely a sending off'

    Stoke 0-3 Liverpool

    Ian Wright

Former Arsenal & England striker on MOTD

I don't know how the linesman could give that for the first goal, was it all out of play? It's so close.

It's absolutely a sending off for Mignolet. It's a sending off.

Salah is a great signing. He was running away from goal when he hit that volley - wow.

I am worried about Stoke, they are not getting any luck. I am concerned for Mark Hughes, it's very precarious for managers at the moment.

  5. 'Mignolet should have been sent off'

    Stoke 0-3 Liverpool

    Danny Murphy

    Former Liverpool midfielder on MOTD

It is a sending off [for Simon Mignolet]. Mame Biram Diouf is ahead of Joe Gomez and he would have put the ball in an empty net. They've got away with one.

  7. 'I'm gutted he's injured'

    Arsenal 5-0 Huddersfield

    Ian Wright

Former Arsenal & England striker on MOTD

Alexandre Lacazette was brilliant and Aaron Ramsey always turns up no matter how Arsenal are playing. Lacazette ran the channels and made space for others and it's such a shame that he went off injured. I love him and I'm gutted he's injured.

Mesut Ozil is unstoppable against this sort of opposition. He is energised at the moment and he has so much ability. He's a beautiful player to watch.

  8. 'Terriers must be careful'

    Arsenal 5-0 Huddersfield

    Danny Murphy

    Former Liverpool midfielder on MOTD

Huddersfield have to be careful. taking heavy beatings can harm your confidence.

  11. 'Allardyce is a really good appointment'

    Everton 4-0 West Ham

    Danny Murphy

    Former Liverpool midfielder on MOTD

I think Sam Allardyce is a really good appointment, exactly what Everton need. They need to get some clean sheets. They have goals in their team anyway.

  12. 'I couldn't kick it that far!'

    Everton 4-0 West Ham

    Ian Wright

Former Arsenal & England striker on MOTD

On the Wayne Rooney goal - I can't kick it that far! The timing is so difficult, to hit that ball with your laces is so hard. It's easier to go with your sidefoot or cut across the ball but to hit the ball like that is superb.

  13. 'Rooney never should have been dropped'

    Everton 4-0 West Ham

    Danny Murphy

    Former Liverpool midfielder on MOTD

Wayne Rooney never should have been left out of the team. He's been one of their best players whenever I've seen him. He just got on the ball and West Ham let him dictate the game. He was calm under pressure, tracking runners. Nobody worked as hard as him today.

There was nobody like him in the West Ham side. Rolling back the years, his desire to get in there for the second goal.

The technique for the third is so difficult. It's a mindset, because the safety would be to cut across it.

Greg: Can we just give Rooney the goal of the season already?!

  15. 'City will take a lot from that win'

    Manchester City 2-1 Southampton

    Ian Wright

Former Arsenal & England striker on MOTD

Manchester City didn't have that same intensity today but they are so patient. They have quality players and they are never going to be rushed. They keep passing it, keep probing. Southampton were camped in and defended brilliantly.

Sterling stays wide for the goal but then he opens up the space and it's a terrific goal, three winning goals in a week. That is the sort of season he is having. City will take a lot from that win.

  16. 'Sterling is getting better each week'

    Manchester City 2-1 Southampton

    Danny Murphy

    Former Liverpool midfielder on MOTD

The Manchester City manager gives them the freedom. He insists on playing that well. What a goal from Raheem Sterling, he's getting better each week.

  17. 'Sanches is struggling'

    Chelsea 1-0 Swansea

Swansea boss Paul Clement was asked about replacing Renato Sanches at half-time today.

"He wasn't injured. He had a poor half. I don't think in any of the games he's played this year he's showed the talent he has. He's a player struggling for confidence, struggling for form."

  18. Pards back in the Prem

    Alan Pardew
Image caption: That's right, Pards has a beard now

It hasn't just been about David Moyes, Sam Allardyce and David Unsworth today.

West Brom have appointed Alan Pardew as their new boss.

The Baggies, who drew 2-2 with Pards' old club Newcastle last night under caretaker Gary Megson, sacked Tony Pulis on 20 November after a run of 10 Premier League games without a victory.

"Confidence is obviously a little bit low at the moment," said Pardew.

"We need a win and hopefully we will get that as quick as we can.

"There are a lot of experienced managers down the bottom of the league, all chasing at the moment just to get up the league.

"So, for us, the immediate concern is to halt this run... to try and attack in the top 10, if possible."

  19. 'Third goal was perfect moment'

    Everton 4-0 West Ham

Everton captain Wayne Rooney to BBC Sport: "It was very enjoyable. It was a difficult moment for us as a club. It was a big game with the new manager coming in. We needed a big performance and we had that - especially in the first half.

"We had to win. We had to stand up and show what good players we are. It's the first step of where we want to go - moving up the league.

"It wasn't the best penalty, I was fortunate to get the rebound. The third goal, it fell to me, Joe's out of his goal and I thought I'll have a go and I hit it sweet. I tried to hit it hard and keep it under control. It was a perfect moment.

"It's a new chapter. Sam is a very good manager. I'm sure he'll bring some new ideas. We're looking forward to our first game with him tomorrow.

"David Unsworth is an Everton man. He stepped in at a difficult moment. He did an alright job. I'm sure he can go home with his head held high."
