Ten-man Tottenham hold on to secure a point in a hard-fought encounter against Watford at Vicarage Road.

FULL-TIME

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

It finishes 1-1. A frantic afternoon at Vicarage Road. Both sides may well take that. Both managers might well be furious with Martin Atkinson.

Jan Vertonghen applauds the fans

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Watford want a penalty. Martin Atkinson says no. The ball hit Eric Dier.

Into injury-time we go. A late winner?

Richarlison booked. Any late drama?

Benjamin: Watford are really doing their best to make it an even game, kudos. Don’t think the ref will actually give them the red they’re trying so hard to get but oh well.

Bob Hawkins‏: The way that the Watford team are hacking at Harry Kane suggests they want to take a bit of him home.

If Watford don't win it they'll still see this as a very positive result, to be three points off Spurs at this stage of the season.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Another change for Tottenham. Erik Lamela is coming on for Son Heung-min. It is only Lamela's second appearance in 13 months.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Moussa Sissoko storms away down the right and he shoots wide. In the build-up to that Marvin Zeegelaar has a grab of Dele Alli's shirt, and when play stops Zeegelaar gets a booking. You wouldn't bet against another red card here.

Michael O'Dwyer:#WATTOT 30 mins left. Spurs a man down. Know what we need, a player of much lower quality on the pitch. Sissoko on for Eriksson. Done.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

They may only have 10 players, but Spurs are still utilising the outlet of Kieran Trippier on the right flank, up from full-back.

His low cross, sees Heurelho Gomes get a hand to it before the hosts can clear it, but Gomes looks hurt and needs some treatment.

It's becoming a physical contest, there's a little bit of niggle in the game. It's hotting up and it's exciting.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Once again Harry Kane is the target of some rough treatment from the home side. This time he is standing in front of Sebastian Prodl, who has both hands wrapped around Kane's chest before throwing him to the floor.

Tottenham have looked to toughen up their midfield with Moussa Sissoko coming on for Christian Eriksen. It's that sort of game.

HITS THE WOODWORK - Abdoulaye Doucoure

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

So, so close to Watford retaking the lead. Kieran Trippier does not do a good job of clearing a cross, and it falls to Abdoulaye Docoure 25 yards out, he smashes a superb strike, which has beaten Hugo Lloris, but the ball bounces off the inside of the post and stays out. Great strike.

There's been numerous times Harry Kane has been kicked and pushed today.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Can Spurs, with 10 men, get the three points here? Remember, they have only taken one point from their last three matches in the Premier League.

Don Uorri: Watford make a million fouls yet Spurs get a player sent off?!

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Neither side is going to be happy with referee Martin Atkinson.

Watford will argue they should have had a penalty just before Tottenham equalised, and Spurs will claim Davinson Sanchez did not deserve a red card.

We are seeing some heavy challenges from Watford today, with Harry Kane, yet again, flattened.

RED CARD - Davinson Sanchez (Tottenham)

Tottenham's Davinson Sanchez is shown a straight red card.

This foul happens in almost exactly the same spot as Kabasele's foul on Harry Kane - right in front of the benches near the halfway line.

In the second incident, Richarlison looks to skip past Davinson Sanchez, who catches the Brazilian with his elbow. Martin Atkinson is in the headlines again, and Spurs are down to 10 men.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Harry Kane is clattered by the Watford goalscorer Christian Kabasele. No complaints from the home player as he is cautioned, the foul was a needless one just in front of the benches right by the touchline on the halfline.

HALF-TIME

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Kane was interested, but gets too much on the free-kick with it going harmlessly over. And that is the end of a hugely entertaining first half.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Son tries to slide a pass through to Christian Eriksen, but a vital touch from Christian Kabasele denies the Dane a chance through on goal.

Another chance for Spurs now, as Sebastian Prodl fouls Dele Alli 35 yards out and quite central. Harry Kane looks interested in the free-kick.

CLOSE!

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

The ball falls to Ben Davies after the hosts fail to clear Kieran Trippier's free-kick.

The Welshman takes his time, keeps the ball down on the half volley but can only drag his 20-yard effort just past the post.

Richarlison falls in the penalty box
PA

Wayne Ellis: No sympathy for Richarlison (on the penalty decision). He's earned himself a reputation now, and occasionally that will count against him...

Adam MacArthur: We know Watford can play going forward, but they are far too weak as a defensive unit. Can they out score Tottenham today?

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

It is Eriksen who takes it, but he does not get the power, swerve or accuracy on the free-kick, which is straight at Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

At the other end, Abdoulaye Doucoure whistles one past the post.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Free-kick to Tottenham as Dele Alli is crudely brought down by Tom Cleverley, who is cautioned. Thirty yards out, maybe in Christian Eriksen's range.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Spurs are having success down the right wing with Kieran Trippier bursting forward from right-back.

Twice in a minute he is free, the first time he overhits a pass forward and the second time his cross is grabbed by ex-Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Good news for those with Christian Eriksen in their fantasy teams.

GOAL - Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Son Heung-min (Tottenham)

Huge controversy at Vicarage Road. Watford look to have won a penalty when Ben Davies blocks off Richarlison in the Spurs penalty area.

But referee Martin Atkinson does not give it and Spurs immediately counter. Kieran Trippier links up with Christian Eriksen, whose low cross from the right is turned in from close range at the back post by Son Heung-min.

That will not be the last we hear of that one.

Eric Dier is lucky to escape a booking after a clumsy-looking challenge from behind on Richarlison.

Watford 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham still to have a shot on target. They do, however, create a chance, but Dele Alli, sliding in at the back post, can't get a touch on to the cross-field pass.

Kaushik Gorai: I don't understand why it matters if you do zonal or man to man marking. You have six players in the box, seven including your keeper. Wherever the ball is supposed to land just be brave and get to it first. It will be cleared automatically.
