  1. FULL-TIME

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

That's it - Chelsea move level on points with second-placed Manchester United.

Just the one goal in it, but a well deserved three points for Chelsea.

  2. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Antonio Conte, baseball cap on, is calling for the whistle.

  3. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

    Good save from Fraser Forster.

If anyone looks like scoring, it's Chelsea.

Alvaro Morata scoops a pass over to Cesc Fabregas in the area, and his shot is parried away by the Saints stopper.

  4. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

The ball is up the wrong end if you're a Southampton fan.

Chelsea win corner after corner, and keep the pressure on through Willian.

He shifts it left to Marcos Alonso, who comes back inside to Cesc Fabregas and the Spaniard's shot is blocked.

  5. Saints showing intent

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

    Pat Nevin

Ex-Chelsea winger at Stamford Bridge for 5 live Sport

There's still a lot to play for here, and Southampton, without being brilliant, are playing with much more intent than at any other point in this game.

  6. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Can Southampton salvage anything from this?

We thought the first half was petering out and then Marcos Alonso popped up with what could be the winner... four minutes added on!

  7. Alonso and Kante impress

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

    Pat Nevin

Ex-Chelsea winger at Stamford Bridge for 5 live Sport

The most dangerous player for Chelsea has been Marcos Alonso - the left-back - he scored the goal, and he's had two really good efforts either side of the break.

But N'Golo Kante's tackling has been amazing, I've never seen anyone else tackle like he does, you just know any 50-50 he goes in for - he's going to win it.

  8. YELLOW CARD

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Nathan Redmond breaks up a Chelsea attack, but it's a foul - my old manager would call it a "good foul" - and one that sees his name taken.

Jack Stephens follows him into the book for descent.

  9. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Charlie Austin is causing a few problems, being a bit of a nuisance in the box.

He connects with a cross at the front post, but can only help it wide.

  10. SUBSTITUTION

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Final chance for Chelsea - David Zappacosta gets a run out.

  11. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Little bit of fight left in Southampton.

Chelsea are forced to defend back-to-back corners, but then go on the counter attack.

Willian finds Cesc Fabregas with a quick free-kick and the Spaniard slips a shot through Fraser Forster's legs, only to watch it creep across the goalline and stay out.

  12. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Good feet from Alvaro Morata. He certainly looks fit, despite not starting...

The Spaniard collects on the right, cuts inside on to his left and fizzes an effort straight at Fraser Forster.

    Southampton scramble clear.

  13. SUBSTITUTION

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Subs all round - and here is Alvaro Morata. A rest for Eden Hazard.

  14. Fabregas looking sharp

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

    Pat Nevin

Ex-Chelsea winger at Stamford Bridge for 5 live Sport

I think he's got that decision right you know, the linesman. Cesc Fabregas has come on, and he's almost made an instant impact, how much sharper does Chelsea's midfield look now?

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Here comes Sofiane Boufal, off goes Pierre-Emile Holjbjerg, who's name I've struggled with all afternoon....

  16. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Now Chelsea have sprung into life.

Marcos Alonso chests a Willian pass into his path and pings a right-footed half volley towards goal, only for Fraser Forster to palm it away for a corner.

  17. DISALLOWED GOAL

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Cesc Fabregas is involved immediately - he plays a clever one-two with Eden Hazard and the Belgium forward slots smartly into the bottom corner.

    But... Fabregas was offside, just.

  18. SUBSTITUTION

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Well, that was a chance for Eden Hazard, who does well to shrug off a tackle inside the Southampton box and fire towards goal.

Maya Yoshida is alert to that - he dives in to block the Belgian's shot and it loops up into the air for Fraser Forster to gather.

And there's that chance - Fabregas on for Pedro.

    Eden Hazard
  19. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Chelsea have created very little since the break, that Charlie Austin chance the best of the lot for either team.

It looks like Cesc Fabregas is about to come on... what can the Spaniard bring?

  20. CLOSE!

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Chance for Charlie Austin with his first touch!

The substitute finds himself in acres of space between the Chelsea line and is fed through on goal with a neat pass.

He looks up, opens his body up, but can't curl a right-footed shot out of Thibaut Courtois' reach.
