  1. Goodbye

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

That just about wraps things up for the early kick-off - and what a start to 2018 it was.

A cracker at the Amex, and a share of the points for Brighton and Bournemouth.

There's still plenty of football to come this afternoon though, and you can follow it right here.

    Until next time...

  2. 'Not a great market in January'

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

    Brighton & Hove Albion

More from Brighton boss Chris Hughton, on Jose Izquierdo's missed chance in the second half: "What should have been 3-1 becomes 2-2.

"This is a game we deserved to win, but haven't lost - we need to take that mentality into the next few games.

"We will try to do some business, but it's not a great market in January."

  3. 'It feels like two points lost'

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Chris Hughton speaking to Match of the Day: "It's hugely disappointing. We spoke about areas we need to address, opportunities to score more goals and be creative.

"What became an open game aganist a good Bournemouth side, on chances we had by far the better of the clear cut chances.

"To come in at 2-2, having led twice, it absolutely feels like two points lost."

  4. Dembele to Brighton just 'speculation'

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Chris Hughton says he doesn't necessarily need to add forwards to his squad in January - and says rumours linking Brighton with Celtic striker Moussa Dembele are simply "speculation".

  5. 'We needed to defend better'

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe on Sky Sports: "It's frustrating for us that we gave them goals at the start of both halves. The lads showed great fighting spirit, team spirit to come back.

"The timing and the manner we conceded was disappointing. We had to work so hard, and it's been a feature of our recent games.

"It's good to see us scoring again, but we needed to defend better to win."

  7. Pinball Wilson...

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson grabbed the equaliser from perhaps one the scrappiest goalmouth scrambles you're likely to see at this level.

He's described it as "a bit pinball in there".

  8. How it stands

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

This is how that result leaves the table.

Brighton two points from the top half, Bournemouth three points from the relegation zone - but only a place between them.

Simon Rigler: Great game! Nervously watched the match on my phone, pleased to see my beloved #afcb nick a draw, I'm on the train back to my home in, um, Brighton...

  10. 'Great game for the fans'

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth defender Steve Cook on Sky Sports: "The pitch wasn't the best, end to end, it was a great game for the fans - we both had great chances, but I think 2-2 was fair enough.

"I wish I had celebrated (the goal). I came through the ranks here and it was a bit of respect."

  11. 'Two points dropped for Brighton'

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

An incredible game. If you're Chris Hughton you're wondering how you didn't get all three points but Bournemouth really stuck in there. I think it's two points dropped for Brighton - they need to start taking their chances if they want to stay in the Premier League.

I feel the way Bournemouth play they will win enough games, with Brighton the longer it goes on I would worry about them. They have to start turning draws into wins, it can be a very cruel league.

  12. Post update

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

We'll have full quotes for you in a moment, but Steve Cook has just said he wished he celebrated his goal against his former club!

  13. Post update

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Well, that was certainly a scrap - but a thoroughly enjoyable one.

End-to-end, plenty of shots on goal, penalty box scrambles and a hatful of missed chances to boot.

    Happy New Year.

Chris: Good to see a proper football match between Brighton & Bournemouth. Both sides attacking and lots of challenges on a muddy pitch.

Dennis: Eddie Howe and Chris Hughton are my favourite managers in the league and I hope their sides escape the drop.

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

    And that's it!

A belter at the Amex to kick off 2018.

    Eddie Howe and Chris Hughton

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Right then, chance for Steve Cook to launch a long throw into the box.

It's headed out to the edge of the area, Adam Smith tries to run it wide, but it rolls out for a goal kick.

  17. Post update

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Ah Liam, you've pinched the joke I was about to tell...

Liam: Absolute cracker this Brighton-Bournemouth game, best game of the year I'd say.

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

Tired tackle from the muddied Glenn Murray.

He lunges in on Charlie Daniels. It wasn't nasty, just sloppy, and earns him a booking.

  20. Post update

    Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth

    Anthony Knockaert is fuming.

It's a good run from the Brighton forward, as he regathers a pass inside the six-yard box and pokes it towards goal.

Asmir Begovic saves, it comes back of Knockaert and trickles off for a goal kick.
