  1. Crusaders 2-1 Ballymena United (result)

    Whyte penalty gives Crues victory

Crusaders come from behind to beat Ballymena United at Seaview.

Matthew Shevlin gave Ballymena a 17th-minute lead, running on to a nicely-weighted pass by Jonny McMurray to finish well past home keeper Sean O'Neill.

Crusaders, unbeaten in 14 in all competitions, equalised through a header by Colin Coates in the 37th minute. When the ball is played into the area, United keeper Ross Glendinning misses it, leaving Seaview skipper Coates to nod into an empty net.

Gavin Whyte scored the winner with a 60th-minute penalty after Paul Heatley was fouled.

  2. Warrenpoint Town 0-2 Coleraine (result)

Parkhill and McCauley score for Bannsiders

Irish Premiership leaders Coleraine win 2-0 at Warrenpoint to stay six points clear of Crusaders who beat Ballymena 2-1.

Ian Parkhill gave the Bannsiders the lead in the 48th minute with a deflected shot and Darren McCauley made it 2-0 in stoppage-time.

Coleraine's Brad Lyons limped off just before the interval at Milltown, which will be a concern for manager Oran Kearney with a busy period over the festive period..

Warrenpoint's best effort was Darren Murray's shot which struck the far post.
