'Intensity and quality'

FT: Peterborough 1-5 Leicester

Leicester City

Leicester manager Claude Puel, on BT Sport:

"It was Important to start well, with intensity and quality. We did that and went on to score some very good goals. It was important for the squad that we could perform well today.

"Today we had good focus to recover the ball together and to play good football.

"Fousseni Diabate played in the second division in France but he had some quality to play in Premier League. It was a perfect first game. Now it's important he continues to work hard."

A second for Fousseni Diabete crowns off an impressive debut.

What a debut!! A double for Diabate

Steve Fisher: I know it was Peterborough and we should win but we never batter anyone... so this was nice.

'All about attitude'

Peterborough 1-5 Leicester

Danny Mills

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

That's a little bit harsh on Peterborough.

It was all about attitude for Leicester, players at a higher level can think 'we are better than them' but Leicester were having none of that and they matched Peterborough tackle for tackle. You could see they wanted to put the game to bed in that first half - they were absolutely first-class today.

Diabate has to get man of the match, he was absolutely superb and set the tone for Leicester.

FT: Peterborough 1-5 Leicester

Fousseni Diabate is all smiles. The 22-year-old Mali youth international applauds Leicester's 4,000 travelling fans.

A first-class performance from the Foxes' second string.

Into the FA Cup fifth round they go. League One Peterborough know they have been outclassed.

FULL-TIME

Peterborough 1-5 Leicester

That's the last kick!

GOAL - Peterborough 1-5 Leicester

Wilfred Ndidi

This is all about Fousseni Diabate again. He beats his man in the box with ease, cuts back across goal, and Wilfred Ndidi fires in. Easy.

Quite the debut from the lad.

'Diabate like Rashford'

Peterborough 1-4 Leicester

Danny Mills

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Top corner, the goalkeeper had no chance - Diabate looks like a really promising player. He's a lot like Marcus Rashford, picking the ball up and taking players on.

"It'll be interesting to see how he fairs in the Premier League," adds Conor McNamara...

TWO minutes added on. Ryan Tafazolli tamely nods a deep free-kick into Ben Hamer's grasp.

DISALLOWED GOAL

Peterborough 1-4 Leicester

Junior Morias smashes the ball home - a fine finish! But the flag is up for offside. It won't count.

Just stoppage time left...

SUBSTITUTION

Peterborough 1-4 Leicester

A last change from Peterborough, who have been well beaten today.

Andrea Borg on for Marcus Maddison.

GOAL - Peterborough 1-4 Leicester

Fousseni Diabate

Well, he's actually offside for me, but Fousseni Diabate has his second - and on his debut too.

There's one big launch forward from Jonathan Bond. More in hope than anything. Leicester pick it off. Demarai Gray zooms into space - so easy - and shoots on goal. It's saved well by Bond, but Diabate is there to fire in the rebound.

Replays show that as Gray shot, Diabate was beyond the last man.

What a debut!! A double for Diabate

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

All Leicester here really.

Marc Albrighton zips a cross in, Steven Taylor adjusts well to turn behind for a corner.

CHANCE!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

The sub Ben Chilwell with a chance to shoot first-time from a cut-back on the break...

Poor. Straight at the keeper.

FIVE to go...

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

It's all gone a bit... flat.

Marcus Maddison has no joy down the right wing - he thinks he was pulled back but the ref says now and Leicester are back with it...

WATCH: Hughes gives Peterborough a chance...

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Is there time for more?

Hope!! Andrew Hughes gives Peterborough a chance

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Jack Marriott turns to face goal, darts into a channel in the box but the cross is poor - straight at Ben Hamer.

EIGHT minutes to go.

SUBSTITUTION

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

A change for Peterborough too - Idris Kanu has replaced Danny Lloyd in attack for this final push.

CHANCE!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

That's not too far either! Wilfred Ndidi hammers a shot just over the bar.

A change-up for Leicester. Protect the lead.

There will be no hat-trick for Kelechi Iheanacho - he's being replaced by left-back Ben Chilwell.

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Danny Lloyd scampers up the pitch. Peterborough fans roar him on.

They lose it and Demarai Gray turns really sharply, totally sells his marker as he plays Marc Albrighton in down the left. The winger shoots straight at the keeper.

A big last 10 minutes ahead.

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Just to confirm the wisdom in Danny's words, Jack Marriott darts a low shot straight into Ben Hamer's gloves. It was never going to stretch the keeper that. A tough angle to strike from.

'Clinical Foxes'

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Danny Mills

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

This really is the difference between the two sides. In the final third Leicester have been very clinical. Peterborough have been good, they've had the ball in the right areas but they have wasted those chances.

Claude Puel of Leicester

CLOSE!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Desperate - but effective.

Five blue bodies rally around Kelechi Iheanacho as this game turns ragged. The Leicester striker briefly had space to fire away in the box but he was mobbed quickly.

Marc Albrighton hammers one from range - and that's not far away! Swirling over the top corner.

GOOD SAVE!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Probably should do better with this Demarai Gray. There is so much space for him to turn, run and shoot on goal but his effort is an average one - low and hard but central. It's easily gathered by Jonathan Bond.

Time is running out for Peterborough...

CHANCE!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Demarai Gray with a smart touch into space and the pace to match. He gallops towards goal and strikes a shot that pings off a Peterborough boot and flies just wide.

The corner is cleared. Peterborough break up the pitch as they win possession in the middle, but the away side scramble into action to clear Marcus Maddison's cross. That was a chance...

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

It's all Leicester now. Fousseni Diabate in the thick of it again as he links with Kelechi Iheanacho. Danny Simpson floats a cross wide to Demarai Gray. The keeper comes then goes back and a Peterborough head scrambles clear.

GREAT SAVE!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Fantastic play from Fousseni Diabate, a brilliant little shimmy on the edge buys space to shoot from his marker, but Jonathan Bond matches his high points with an impressive low fingertip stop.

He read that really well the keeper.

SUBSTITUTION

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Two changes for Leicester - Harvey Barnes and Vicente Iborra off, Marc Albrighton and Wilfred Ndidi on.

TWENTY-FIVE minutes for Posh to find two goals. Or more...

CHANCE!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Christian Fuchs floats a cross in and Kelechi Iheanacho skirts towards it but cannot connect as the ball ghosts out of play. Jonathan Bond was in freeze frame. A Leicester touch was all it would have needed.

Jack Bellairs: Here come the mighty Posh! Time to show Leicester what we can really do!

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Peterborough break from a Leicester corner, Danny Simpson slips as he's about to cut out a through ball and for a moment - a moment - Jack Marriott looks to be in.

It turns out Ben Hamer is massively on the case though and he comes steaming off his line to clear any danger - Marriott was always second best really.

Still, anything in this genre is being met with booming cheers of encouragement from the stands. The fans believe now.

SUBSTITUTION

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

A change for the home side.

Leo Da Silva Lopes is off for Junior Morias. Like-for-like in midfield.

'Posh have nothing to lose'

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Danny Mills

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It wasn't a brilliant corner, it was over-hit but Steven Taylor did very well to knock it back into the danger area and the goal eventually comes from Andrew Hughes through a crowd of players.

This is what happens - Leicester have dropped off and Peterborough have nothing to lose. But Peterborough have to be careful that they don't get carried away like they did in the first half and end up getting caught on the counter.

Steve Long: Comeback on?

Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Claude Puel is up and has his arms folded on the sidelines.

Another Peterborough corner goes floating out of play but not before setting a few alarm bells ringing I'm sure. For a moment it looked like it was going to hang at the far post, with Ben Hamer happy to let it run out.

This looks so much more like a game now. One more and we're in business.

GOAL - Peterborough 1-3 Leicester

Andrew Hughes

It's scrappy but they will take it!

Another nice run from Marcus Maddison, he ends up winning a corner from Christian Fuchs. That comes floating in, Steven Taylor rises to nod it down and Andrew Hughes sweeps the ball home through Ben Hamer's legs.

Is the comeback on? They've got something to build on...

Peterborough score to make it 3-1
Reuters
Hope!! Andrew Hughes gives Peterborough a chance

Peterborough 0-3 Leicester

Ben Hamer's having a right go at his defence as he gathers another fairly innocuous cross - low but bouncing slightly awkwardly from Danny Lloyd on the left this time.

They're looking a little slack now, Leicester.

CHANCE!

Peterborough 0-3 Leicester

Much better from the home side this. Leo Da Silva Lopes gets involved. There's more space for him out wide right, but he drifts into trouble after cutting inside.

Lopes is found again - in much more space this time. He feeds Marcus Maddison on the wing, and Ben Hamer comes sliding out to smartly claim a first-time cross ahead Jack Marriott.
