He was. So he can.

'Mahrez? Maybe thanks and goodbye'
Leicester City
Mahrez - will he stay or will he go now?
To be honest I just wish he'd go if he wants to. Last
transfer deadline day he spent the day at a Paris airport - will he spend today
at East Midlands airport waiting for a call?
He cost £400,000 - we could get £55m so not a bad profit. We have
Gray and are building a squad of players that want to be here, which Mahrez
obviously doesn't.
Love the guy to bits for what he has done, but I'm getting
fed up with the Mahrez saga every transfer window.
If it is to be goodbye - then good luck and thanks.

Watford signed this fella on TuesdayImage caption: Watford signed this fella on Tuesday
I know, it's a question we all ask but let's stick to the transfer window, eh!
If - like me - you went to bed early, you will have missed a few interesting deals that were completed late on Tuesday.
Chelsea signed defender Emerson Palmieri from Serie A side Roma for a reported £17.6m, while Manchester City brought in midfielder Jack Harrison from sister club New York City FC, before immediately loaning him out to Championship side Middlesbrough.
Watford penned a deal for 20-year-old winger Dodi Lukebakio from Belgian side Anderlecht and Everton striker Sandro Ramirez returned to Spain to join Sevilla on loan for the rest of the season.
Coming up...
